Great spot! We come often. We were seated right away, there is a full service bar with tvs and they offer a-lot of specials. They also offer Japanese food. Food was on point.

I came here a few weeks ago with some friends and the place was really busy but we were able to get seating fairly quickly. The staff was very welcoming as we walked in. Despite it being very busy, the service was great. Everything we asked for we got without having to ask twice. I'm a pretty picky sushi eater but I have to say that their sushi was so fresh and top notch. You can definitely tell they source great fish. For the amount of food we ordered, I thought it was a great value for premium sushi. Even though we didn't sit at the bar, the bartender seemed very nice and engaging to all the guests. Seems like a great place to come for happy hour. I'll definitely check out next time for that! Keep up the good work.

One of the BEST general Tso chicken I've ever had. The shredded meat and lightly coated then fried is a great twist on a Chinese American classic. Coates just right, not overly sweet with a nice spicy kick while still maintaining a crispy crunch.

Above average, authentic Chinese cuisine on Staten Island, stop here ! Full bar and large dinning room, with separate area for take out. Could not say, No to Jac Mao's for a dinner date suggestion. Traditional Chinese and Japanese cuisine menu. They have a large selection of Chinese dishes and a sushi menu, with many special roll creations. We shared the scallion pancake and two dishes. The scallion pancake was not greasy at all, served warm and with a dipping sauce. MongolianBeef, served with rice and side of vegetables. Flank steak sliced thin sautéed with scallions and delicious sweet sugar, salty soy sauce on top. The crispy cooked beef with the drenched with sauce and fresh garlic make it impossible to stop eating! Using chop sticks let's me slow down and taste the classic Chinese take out dish. The second dish was the highly recommended. Crispy shredded General Tso's chicken 左宗棠雞 served with fresh steamed white rice and drenched in a sweet and spicy sauce. And a side of steamed broccoli. Pistachio ice cream for dessert and some hot jasmine tea. Perfect way to start the week.

Came here with my boyfriend a few months ago! I actually see his review on here lol…read more Food is fresh, hot and delicious, with really good portions! (I say hot because I burnt my mouth taking my first bite haha...) I ordered the Beef Lo Mein, which was good but different from other lo meins I usually order because it had a more soupy sauce! I also got their iced Lychee Green Tea with Regular sugar, which I loved. Service was very fast and the inside of the place was nice and clean! 10/10 Would come back!

That's when we found Lion Dance in Staten Island. Honestly, I didn't expect much because this place is on Staten Island. I've lived here my whole life, and to be real, not a lot of food spots here are that good. I usually go to other parts of NYC to eat. But BOY, WAS I WRONG. I got the pork soup dumplings, lotus leaf steamed rice with beef and broccoli, shrimp siu mai, and a mango green tea with medium sugar and mango jelly. Everything was so good! The biggest surprise was the lotus leaf steamed rice, it had so much flavor and went perfectly with the beef. The portion was big too. The soup dumplings were juicy, the siu mai were fresh, and the mango green tea was super refreshing. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean and nicely decorated. Overall, I loved the food, the vibe, and the service. Definitely coming back and if you're from Staten Island, trust me, this spot is worth checking out!

Had an absolutely wonderful time here for my birthday!…read more The ambiance and decor is a 10/10. It's like being whisked away to a beautiful Polynesian island. Service was very friendly. They didn't flip out when I was running late (I'm still so sorry about that). And on top of being ok with us bringing a cake, they happily offered to bring it out with a candle and song, and offered to cut and serve it for us. Five stars already for that alone! Drinks were delicious and the food was such a delight. Crunchy chips were at the table with a delicious sweet dipping sauce to start. I ordered the Polynesian Coconut Chicken which was so good and quite sweet- of course due to the lychee, pineapple and cherries. Also ordered the steamed vegetable dumplings, which were tasty. After dinner, my friends and I then headed to their bar where they happily served us until nearly closing. They never once tried to push us out or point out the time. They made my birthday one to remember and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. I so wish I lived closer!

We were late for dinner at Friday night, came about 8-8.30pm…read more My friends did know that place for a many years and been there many times and recommended to try as an old school Chinese food and the establishment. I was asking about reservation, they said it's not needed-the Jade Island is huge! But we called for a reservation... I was very skeptical from the start about Chinese cuisine-not my taste, but my friends repeated about old school, classic Chinese Food! At the start-yes, the place is huge! With different shape tables -from 2 to bigger for 10 and more... Surprisingly, there were still a lot of diners at that late time... I forgot Chinese food totally and opted for a safe option- Fried rice with shrimps- very tasty, not salty..huge portion-took home half of it. We ordered Tofu with veggies-crispy veggies, Bock Choi not over- or under cooked-perfect - and tofu-delicious and family size prefix for 2 -with soups/spring rolls and main-chicken... Size for 2 would definitely feed 3-5 people! Great service, very attentive; -spacious seats, nice ambience - and great prices! Would definitely go again, if my friends decide to eat there. Thank you, Jade Island staff!
