We had to pivot to different dinner plans as our original plans for the day fell through and we needed to grab something quick. We found this restaurant and it was absolutely the right call. We came in for dinner around 7 pm and it was somewhat full, but they still sat us right away. We ordered exclusively from the dim sum menu (though the main menu also looked good). We went with the shrimp hargaw, turnip cakes, shrimp and leeks dumplings, the sweet piggy custard buns and the fish mango pudding. Of the items we got I enjoyed the shrimp and leek dumplings the most, whilst the turnip cake and the jello mango pudding shaped like a fish were my least favorite. But the shrimp and leek dumplings with a bit of chili crisp oil was perfect. And the cute piggy themed custard buns were also a perfect sweet ending. Service was a little poor considering the chaos and unorganized host stand. The people are trying their best. But there's no indication of a wait, you just stand around the front desk until you make eye contact with someone and you tell them how many in your party. We stopped by here because we were in the area and were looking to get some dinner . The place was packed and looked interesting so we decided to give it a try ! I have never had dim sum before and this was an experience . They have servers with carts coming around with already made food and you pick which you like . The lady at the cart kept suggesting certain things and we got lots of different types of food . She was very excited and friendly and I kept trying so much from the carts I actually completely ignored the menu! So there are carts that go around and menus I think the carts are appetizers I just ate so much that I got very full ! It was a great experience our table had a huge rotating plate and we all shared with one another ! They also serve really good jasmine tea , the place was authentic and a very popular spot and I can see why . The spot itself is casual and cozy it's all about the food though ! I came here on a Sunday around 12pm and was seated within 5 minutes of waiting. We enjoyed the dimsum here, from the fried crueller rice rolls and salted egg yolk buns to the durian mochi. The ladies pushing the dimsum carts were really nice, more than I'm used to at other dimsum spots haha! I also like how the tables were spaced out and not on top of each other. The food here is pretty good. They have everything coming out fresh during their damn sometime on the weekends but you should come here pretty early. If you want to snag a pretty good table they do get a lot of traffic and a lot of visitors but it's definitely worth going here if you're in the area and want some dim sum! read more

Precious Island Dim Sum is a great place. I have been a customer for years and was happy there was finally a dim sum place close to my home in Staten Island. The dim sum here is truly comparable to the ones in 8th ave Brooklyn and Chinatown Manhattan. The price is fair, service is great/friendly/quick, food is fresh, tasty and has all of my favorites (wu gok, zhaliang, char siu so)! Definitely the go-to spot on the island for some REAL Cantonese Chinese food! I also love the cute dim sum desserts too like the mango fish and piggy buns. read more

Always been a fan of this restaurant, especially for quality Chinese food on the island (which is extremely hard to come by). My family and I have dined here a handful of times. We had dim sum as well and it was on par compared to other places we have been to. This place serves authentic Chinese dishes and the portions are pretty generous. Dishes are always flavorful and cooked well. Service is good, typical. Nothing extraordinary but gets the job done. My only critique would be I wish their bathrooms were heated because they get pretty cold! My family and I come here a lot since its one of the few authentic Cantonese restaurants on the island. I've only been here for dinner but my parents come for the dimsum and love it. The food is pretty cheap and rivals the places in 8th Ave. My go tos for dinner are the honey walnut shrimp, lobster lo mein, and egg tofu with veggies. Great dim sum: scallop, shrimp and snow peas sprout dumplings are excellent. The snow peas sprouts are market price, $18.95 right now, but totally worth it: fresh, crisp with lots of garlic. We ordered: Soup dumplings, rice noodle with spare ribs, rice noodles and shrimp, taro root dumpling, congee, glutinous rice with meat, tripe, meatball, dessert piggy bun with milk custard. Only tricky part is parking when that lot fills up! Food - its pretty much the same stuff you get in every bigger dim sum joint in Brooklyn/Manhattan/Queens, and its on carts!! Save yourself a trip outside the borough, this place has great dim sum! I am guessing the team that runs this establishment has a van that picks up their staff in Brooklyn every morning, and they buy their stuff from the same as exact distributors across the bridge. I'm so psyched that this restaurant exists in the lovely little forgotten borough of Staten Island. The Island is painfully lacking in ethnic food variety... a quick look at Grubhub or Seamless and you'll see the sad offerings of ~85% Italian/pizzerias, 10% take out grade sushi/Chinese food, and 5% other. It's truly a sad state of affairs. So when I heard that a new legit Chinese dim sum place had opened up here, I was majorly skeptical. It was only after I had heard from multiple friends that this place was good did I dare try it. I'm so glad I did! I've come here twice now, once on a busy Saturday morning and another for a quieter but not dead quiet Sunday evening. I was pretty impressed with the dim sum here! It's not mind blowing amazing or the best you'll ever have, but it's definitely still good. The roast pork pastries are bomb! I also tried this black sesame bun that was presented so pretty, prettiest dim sum bun I've ever had (I'm a sucker for gold)- and it was yummy too. I haven't tried all the standard dim sum dishes here yet but I definitely will again soon. The dinner entrees we had outside of the dim sum menu were okay, nothing to write home about but not terrible either. What I like the MOST about this place though is the exceptional service. Every server was so friendly on both occasions here! They were also just quick and efficient, like with clearing plates and getting you the dishes you want. Overall, I'm really happy with this place! While dim sum on the weekends is more authentic with food severing from the cart. If certain food aren't out or on a cart, servers can grab them for you if available. My all-time favorite is the mango pudding and egg tarts. The mango pudding is incredibly well detail and shaped like a fish. Also Instagramable! The mango pudding isn't too sweet and a light refreshment from the savory dim sum dishes. The egg tarts are best eaten warm and hot! The egg custard part isn't too sweet while the pastries aren't too flake. In the pastries, you are able to see layers. The servers here are super nice and helpful. The restaurant has plenty of seating and consists of two levels. The bathroom is located in the back of the restaurants. read more

Restaurant said it's $50 5-0 minimum.
