Ordered a simple hamburger with bacon. Came out and asked for ketchup. Prepped the burger by cutting the bacon in halves to fill the top, noticed bacon was cool and very skinny sort of like microwaved packages stuff. Anyway 15 minutes later the water came back with drink refill and no ketchup; told him that the burger was now cold. He said sorry I'll have another one cooked for you. OK, another one comes out with ketchup on the side and looks amazingly like the one I sent back complete with bacon halves and luke warm at beat (heat lamp maybe?) - disgusting! read more

Recently I went into Jack & Grill with a few work buddies. Very clean place and spaced out. At first I did not realize that it was the same owner as Bayou Jacks Cajun Grill in Roanoke, and Jack's Porch in Southlake. We started off by tasting a number of the many beers they offer. All very good and ice cold! We also some the fries, a couple of burgers (awesome) and a couple of trays of wings (very delicious). We will be back and I will be bringing my in!!!! read more

I returned to try the full menu. Twice the size of the opening menu with a lot of interesting choices. I had the Chili Dusted Sirloin which was fantastic! Has to be one of the best value/taste combinations around. Served with garlic mased potatoes and a choice of several sides. The vegetable medley was really good. Recently went in just out of plain curiosity and I have been to every other place in Roanoke, so I decided to give wings and things a chance! I went with a medium sized group and as soon as we walked in it was kind of awkward, because you can park in the front or the back of the restaurant and when coming through the back you have no clue whether you seat yourself or not. Luckily the servers were really friendly and got together a table for us in no time. In the front there is a big thing of peanuts, but the waitresses don't ask if you want any and there is not a sign saying help yourself so we just went for it, thank goodness because we needed some entertainment, even though they have like 15 televisions in the small area , not to mention something to snack on. With there being a handful of us, we each got something different on the menu including; wings (city-slicker), pasta, chicken pizza (or flat bread), burgers, and of course fries. The pasta was kind of watery and was very plain Jane (nothing you couldn't make at home for much cheaper) and the burger were not very good either. The pizza we ordered was the worst. It was suppose to be a barbecue chicken pizza or something of that sort and it not only smelled like fish, but also tasted like it too. The wings however were quite yummy. However the boneless wings are not like normal, they are more like flavored chicken strips. The atmosphere was pretty fun although SUPER loud, I think it would definitely be worth going to again, maybe when they are less busy (Happy hour is crowded hour). read more

I love this place. Awesome queso and amazing staff. Friendly and attentive. They have a wide array of beer that rivals the best of gastro pubs in downtown Fort Worth. The only thing I dislike is the people that come here. I've been on many occasions and it seems like every time I'm there, there's those goofy, "office space" type folks there. You know the type - the "mid-twenties, $30,000 a year millionaires". Obviously this isn't the fault of the establishment. Just wanted to throw that out there. stopped by friday for lunch. nice place(but small) might be the reason the noise level was a little strong. cute girl greeted us and showed us to a table(later she was our waitress) i had blackened chicken pasta and my companion had chicken fried steak with cheese mashed pots and spinach. the pasta was "ok" not much flavor in the sauce. the cfs was tough (could have used some " worcestershire sauce" but they don't provide any)guess people who have bloody marys do without also) all and all the lunch was so so. we don't drink beer, eat wings as other reviewers were doing so can't speak on those items. just felt we spent $30(including tip) on a lackluster meal. read more

The wings and fries are awesome!!! The wings have a little smoke taste which makes them taste different than other establishments. They also have a large assortment of beers which is very nice!!! I would also recommend the burgers, they appear to be a fresh pounded patty instead of a frozen patty. I would suggest that you give them a try! read more

Beautiful setting, but a group of 9 of us had a really bad experience. Drink orders were wrong, they claimed to have no tonic water, and server was quick to share what's wrong with the place. I definitely wouldn't go back. read more

Food was really good. I wish we could have talked to a manager much less our waitress. After initial order and 1 table touch it took us 5 minutes to flag down our waitress to get our check. All the waitresses and bar staff had their back to the dining floor most of our visit. Honestly, we could have easily walked out without paying as no one was paying any attention to the dining room floor. They have an open kitchen, which is great! The cooks were obviously attentive and cared about what they were putting out, but that was were the experience ended. The person running tickets never looked at the dining room floor and we were literally sitting right next to her. As much as I like the food, we will not be returning. Customer service is just as important if not more so than the food. If the food is bad 1 day out of the month it is outstanding customer service that saves it, at the same time, if customer service it bad 1 day out of the month you loose that customer. Possibly forever. I don't know yet. read more

Delicious wings that are crispy and well seasoned/sauced. I adore their sweet potato fries and often request they be seasoned with the cajun spice typically used on the french fries! The only reason i couldn't give five star is the wait time from when you order to when you're eating is pretty significant - be prepared to be patient! read more

Been wanting to try this place for a little while because of their extensive beer selection. Finally went tonight and wasn't disappointed. I am always a bit concerned about kid friendliness when going to a place like this for the first time. Some people's idea of kid friendly may not be mine. Pleasantly surprised with the kid's menu and that there were a lot of other families there on a Thursday night. High chair was clean. Well lit, not extremely loud. NO changing table in the bathroom. Didn't need one tonight but, as a mom, it's always something I look for. If you're going to say you're kid friendly then please have changing tables. Very pleased with the quality of food and the portions were BIG. Aside from the missing changing tables my only other gripe is that the draught beer menu wasn't up to date. With that many taps the availability is bound to change pretty often. I'd suggest having the beer/drink menu on plain paper rather than being laminated. Easier to update and keep current that way. :) Host/hostesses/waitresses were all extremely nice and efficient. We will be back! read more

My wife and I had an unpleasant experience at the Jack & Grill restaurant (Roanoke,Texas) today that will prevent us from returning. I am a repeat patron who eats there throughout the week on an average of about once per week. It has been my restaurant of choice in the Roanoke area but I also eat at the other area restaurants. This afternoon, my wife and I walked-up and entered the Jack & Grill restaurant as other patrons were leaving. Inside the restaurant, there were open 4-seat tables, high-top tables and seats in bar area. Some tables were also being cleared. When my wife and I requested to be seated, we were told that there was a 30-minute wait due to "staffing". We requested to be seated in the bar to have a glass of wine. We were told by the host that "I asked my manager and the manager said no" .... but the host never left the hostess-stand at the front of the restaurant to ask the manager?? There was no attempt by the host to offer anything (sit outside, wait in the bar area, .......) - he felt content relaying the message from his manager ( ..... there is a 30-minute wait). Manager made no attempt to talk with the increasing number patrons that began forming at the front of the restaurant. My wife and I felt that we were just being turned away. Afterward, I spoke with a manager (Eddie) to discuss my experience (he indicated that he was not the manager at the restaurant at the time of my earlier arrival) ....... our conversation did not go well. In the conversation, I was asked "are you wanting a free meal or something". I felt that he was diminishing my complaint. My answer was "NO .... I want good service and simply have the ability to sit, eat and leave". Jack - You have good food and serve a really good margarita but you have a lot of good restaurants in your area and many more that will open 1-2 minute walk from your front doors, once the construction projects are completed. Your service may be your demise - it is not typically very good and today was my "tipping-point". I see a "Matts Rancho Martinez" in your possible future. Posting to Trip Advisor and Yelp. read more

We've been multiple times, and we love it! You can't go wrong with the house salad (seriously, no one in the history of ever has thought, "you know, I remember the house salad at ...", but I certainly won't forget this one) or the pulled pork nachos (this is a contradictory creation that hits all the right notes). Plus, the servings are big enough that you can get away with splitting one order. I liked the wings better than my better half, even though I prefer them extra crispy and since they're smoked there's no real way to get 'em that way. Also tried the skinny girl turkey burger - this one had great toppings, but like all turkey burgers, the meat was typically bland. Great beer selection, too. Best of all - as with all of Jack's places - the staff is excellent! read more

This was a great visit. Being our first time at the location I was surprised by the options of beer available on tap, I think 53. My husband and I both tried one and it was very good. On top of that we all enjoyed our meals with everyone getting something a little different. Being there on a Saturday I enjoyed all the TV's available for watching football though not all of us had a great view. The restaurant was a little on the louder side but as we weren't there for an intimate dinner I didn't find that to be a problem. Excited to catch their happy hour specials which give you a dollar off all the draft beers. We definitely will be going back. read more

First impressions are key - We were in the area and decided to detour to Roanoke 'Unique Dining Capital of Texas' and figured we try this spot. The hostess quickly sat us without a preference off to the corner...this during the Cowboys game. My g/f and I politely asked to be moved closer to one of the tvs and she rolled her eyes as if we had asked her to write an essay on American Independence. Once the food arrived, we weren't really impressed. G/F had the flat bread bbq pizza which she said was good, the philly cheesesteak at 8 bucks w/o fries was not a great deal. Sure they have tons of craft on tap but the same can be had at pluckers or other bars. We will not be visiting again, or take a detour to this place. read more
