I've never had a bad experience at Jack Brown's. I LOVE the Elvis burger and sweet potato fries. They have some sort of special garlic aioli type of sauce that's great with the fries. The burgers come in a wax paper type of wrapper which you'll need because the burgers can get messy. I've never tried their dessert but it looked like they had fried oreos. Service is always super quick, the burgers are always perfect, and the vibes are always vibing. I wish they had a bit of a bigger draft selection but their can/bottle selection has a great variety. For two burgers, two fries, and two beers our bill was about $50, which is kinda pricey for some burgers but damn it's a good burger. read more

The word that comes to mind here is scrappy. Great burger - not fancy, just fun. Crinkle fries and pickles. Closest thing you're going to get to a vegetable is the sweet potato fries. It may not seem like it, but there are wait staff here. Sit where you want, pick a burger from the card menu, and a beer from the EXTENSIVE list you'll find from the QR code on the side of the condiment carrier. We were looking for a late night place to eat in walking distance from our hotel. We saw Jack Browns was open late, so decided to try it out. I have to say, this burger and fries hit the spot! I got the Chiflet burger and it was super tasty! The JB sauce was also so good with the fries and burger. It was a cool looking place and loved the music they were playing. Came here before for burger week and thought I'd come in the regular seasons. To our disappointment, the burger size didn't seem to improve at all. For a burger that's about 14$, I would expect some bigger portion and some better presentation. If your specialized menu is just variations of the same burger, and fries as the only side, you'd really want to wow the consumer. read more

Burger was fantastic!!! I have craved this specific burger since having it. They offer an $8 plain burger, which is seriously plain - no mayo, no lettuce, no onion, no tomato. And it comes with NO sides. I did try the plain burger and was thrilled because I got to taste all of the spices and experience the textures. This is good beef and on a perfectly toasted bun. You can get a dressed up burger for a few extra bucks. The sides are starch options. The fries were soft with a slight crunch on the outside and seasoned really nicely. Now, the burger was great, and I mean GREAT, but I have a couple of drawbacks. 1. If you want a balanced meal (even just some veggies on your burger) or a green side - this is not the place for you. If you have dietary restrictions - this is not the place for you. 2. To me, the plain burger felt like it should've been a $5 street burger/from some hole in the wall that blew your mind away. This burger does not fill me up and the lack of options for a balanced meal leave me wanting to eat again after I leave. Totally understand if others disagree with this, but my preference is for a little bit more from a meal. The service was attentive, the food was FAST, and the environment is idiosyncratic. It is a loud and dark restaurant so keep that in mind as you plan your visit! This is a MUST TRY in my book! read more

Jack Brown's is one of my go to spots when I'm in Lexington. If you're in for a football game, basketball game, or whatever it's a Lexington staple for burgers and beer. This week my burger was so hot I couldn't hold it, the fries so hot I couldn't eat them, and when I did there was an ice cold IPA to round it out. Just what I was looking for. Ask for a double patty when ordering your burger or take a leap and order two different ones. Make sure to try both the fries as well as the sweet potato fries. Both go great with the homemade Jack Brown's sauce. This last drop in was a double Classic Jack with sweet potato fries and a local IPA. Great flavors packed in their burgers and the fries really are top notch. It's worth a stop and the service is always friendly and prompt. It's busy after game time, especially in close proximity to Rupp, but the vibe is good and the food is great. 10 out of 10 would recommend as they say and when I'm in town I hit them up for a great burger. I'm being nice giving a 3 star, cause my 1st time here was 4 star, and 2nd time was 1 star. 1st time was good. I'd been to the Murfreesboro, TN location a few times, didn't know it was a chain til got here. Went on an afternoon with a friend. I got the Classic Jack burger and was good. My friend liked the burger he got, and we shared Jacked Up Fries. The service was pretty good too, everything was good. Not the cheapest, not too bad though. 2nd time was bad. Was at 4th of July fest with friend and none of the food trucks were really jumping out at me. Decided rather order from Jack Brown's to go instead, to eat it while listening to live music downtown. Someone from a table got up and left just a couple mins after we walked in so we sat down there hoping someone would come to take our order. It wasn't clear how you were supposed to do a take out order. Took time deciding what we wanted, then friend went to the restroom. Still no one had come, so tried sitting at the bar for a while. Idk when we'd walked in but after sitting at the bar for what seemed like a good while, I looked at the time and decided they had 10 more minutes to come to us. Sure enough they did not come to us in that time so we walked out. In the bar time, I saw them check on the same group 3 times. Also saw them go to a group that got there after us, but then that group left. Don't know what you're gonna get service wise. I'll probably give one more time as a tiebreaker to see how it goes, but yeah. WIsh the music was a little quieter, even my first time. The ambiance is college kitsch. Not saying it's bad, just kitsch. : ) I have to give it a 5 because of the Doc Gonzo burger. It was fabulous, good crispy patty and tasty condiments. The fries are just so so. The usual crinkle cut fries with salt. A good seasoning would really raise their game. The seating sucks a bit but young butt's probably don't care. It would have to get a 5 just for the Country Boy Stout. We'll worth the stop. Just be ready, parking sucks. But worth the effort. read more

We're from Cincinnati and not familiar with with Lexington, so I checked some reviews and we got lucky to find this place. A really nice Establishment! Very friendly service! I ordered the double meat with single cheese and fresh jalapeños. It was so good, I finished that and ordered another. Great atmosphere, really good music. We sat outside. It was a cool evening. College town, College food, and unfortunately College attitude. This was our first time in and probably won't go back. Though the burger was delicious, I was just amazed that this medium sized Burger was so pricey. Of course I'm sure a lot of this has to do with the lack of service that we received. We obviously said on the wrong side of the bar, because the other side was getting lots of attention. We weren't the only ones, there was two people down from us that received the same service. That's why I feel I need to write this down. The bartender asked us if it was our first time. We responded yes, and expected maybe a little explanation of the menu. Instead she stood there and stared at us. So we ordered, Justice if we wanted french fries with their burger assuming that there was a choice between french fries and something else? Nope. It was an upcharge. We easily could have split one order of french fries but that was never mentioned. Like I said the burglar was good, but that doesn't remedy the bad service. The burger and fries are basically cafeteria quality or slightly better. I mean, they're fine, but that's it. It was $18 for burger, fries, soft drink, and tip. If I'd had a beer it would have hit $20. I can eat at Sawyer's or some other local joint for less and the burger is much better. Won't be back and it's not because they did anything wrong. I hesitate to choose between 3-4 starts. I tried the burger of the day - in this case, the "Ron Swanson", and it was pretty good. While the taste was good, it wasn't particularly big for a burger that cost $12.50 ala carte. Adding fries was another $4 and with a soda, my base bill for lunch before tip was $20 and change. Atmosphere was just a basic pub, and the burger was wrapped in paper and served in plastic basket. One last negative, the door was wide open allowing the cold air to roll in, and I was left shivering in my jacket sitting on a metal stool. A few additional positives - the service was good, and our food was prepared quickly and served fresh. So, it comes down to personal preferences. I thought the burger was good, but I doubt I'll be back. It just wasn't that exceptional. read more
