On a recent Sunday afternoon we were passing through Indianapolis looking for a place to have lunch that we don't have at home (Louisville) and I said to the wife, I said "Hey, can you see if there's a Jack in the Box we can have lunch at in Indi"?, to which she replied "That sounds good, let me check!". This location is right off of the expressway and it's very easy to find. It was about 1:30pm, so we fortunately missed the lunch rush. Before we even walked in I knew what I wanted, and that was those outstanding Jack in the Box tacos. There was a current promotion for 2 Monster Tacos for $3. Was I dreaming? Sign me up! The restaurant was clean and well-stocked when we arrived, aside from the drink station with, let's face it, is trashed in just about any fast food restaurant. The floors were clean, trash wasn't overflowing, and all the tables were clean. The dining room counter tops could use some attention/repair. The are cracks next to the drink machine that look like they want to be fixed. My wife's whatever-it-was burger was good (by her account). The Monster Tacos were very much worth taking a short detour off of I-65. The staff we encountered (cashier, primarily) was very nice and helpful. For the most part the staff was busy taking care of things, but during the 45 or so minutes of our stay, no one came out to take care of the dining room. Now that we know there's a Jack in the Box easily accessible during our trips to Ft Wayne and back...TACOS! read more

I have a serious question, is your staff just incompetent or stupid, or both? I ordered your food through a delivery service, that's how I was able to get some of my money back, otherwise you wouldn't pick up your phone, terrible customer service on top of the terrible food service and terrible food. I ordered two of the potato wedges with cheese and bacon, but now somehow come with ranch, I asked for that to be taken off, and it shows on the receipt, -allergic to ranch, but that doesn't seem to matter to you as you can't read the receipt or what you're supposed to do.... I ordered a box with four tacos, spicy chicken sandwich with only mayo, " not for me allergies and all" which again shows on the receipt,obviously it came with everything else. Ordered a double junior burger meal plane, with wedges and again shows on the receipt and not received correctly. On top of this, the Dasher waited 25 minutes at your location to get my food. This needs to be addressed with the general manager and area manager as you're only one a few locations in Indianapolis and your food quality and service are terrible and will put you out of business.. I come from Texas, where there are multiple Jack in the boxes and they would all have a conniption fit with the way you put out your food. Shame on you Jack in the box and at corporate. Needless to say, I won't be recommending your company like many others especially after winning an hour for cold and wrong food thank you so much for charging me top dollar for poor food. This was my families first time here. My husband and I ordered the spicy tenders and curly fries. The fries were so good. I'd stop here again just to snack on some curly fries. And The tenders were okay. Kinda dry and not very spicy. They have a coke soda machine where you can choose basically any coke brand flavor which was nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant was kept very clean as well as the restrooms. The employees were nice and helpful. Our food was brought out very quickly. read more

Moving from California to Wisconsin, Jack In the Box is the single number one fast food chain we miss the most. The tacos are literally heaven, the orea cookie shake cannot be beaten, coke freestyle drinks, curly fries, and damn food burgers. We were visiting a friend in Indianapolis for the weekend and we're absolutely thrilled that they had a jack in the box here. Oh sweet sweet nostalgia. Ordered our usual, got back to the hotel and...oh no! Sorry but as amazing as the tacos are, they MUST have the hot sauce. We requested extra and got NONE. In addition, no sauce for the fries and no straws for our oreo cookie shakes. Which sucks cuz that makes them pretty much useless. The tacos, stuffed jalapeños and egg rolls were cooked in old cooking oil which tasted and smelled terrible. See my review of the Post Rd. location as well. Visited that location first, and was told the restaurant was closed when it's a 24-hour location. So we went to the other one on W 38th St. that was listed as 24 hours. Takes about 20 minutes to get there. Again, lights are on, cars there. Get to the drive through speaker, and a voice comes on and says they're closed. No reason given, no apology. They're just closed. Absolutely ridiculous. So I come back the next night thinking surely that was a fluke, and guess what? THEY'RE CLOSED AGAIN. All the lights were on, there were people inside, and cars in the parking lot. Closed? Give me a break. So not once, not twice, but three times I attempted to get food and wasted my time at these restaurants. No signage up outside. Nothing. Don't waste your time going here, because apparently they don't know their own hours or even care to put signs up telling people that no one is working or their "system" is down. several times iv gotten food from this location they give me a hard time every time i order food online and add ranch to my cart for free. to be hounded by the employees to be charged $.30 per ranch when its free to order on the app is ridiculous when im paying over $10 for a tiny oj, hash-brown, and breakfast sandwich. do better!if you wanna charge for ranch charge but dont make it free on the app and then try to get $.30 out of them at the window when they try to pick up food. also when i put four in my order and only get 2 because that is the most you give out to customers when they complain you are trying to charge them is bs. read more

Took a road trip here from Chicago for some memories. This is the dirtiest Jack in the Box I have ever been to. The floors were sticky like a theatre. Not a single person was wearing a mask properly. Most had them under their nose and the main cook had his hanging from one ear. I highly recommend you go elsewhere. I will be reporting them to corporate and the health department today. read more

I have never eaten at a Jack in the Box before. When I pulled in around 11:30 PM, I asked for a moment to look at the menu. When I said I was ready to order, the lady on the intercom told me she 'd take it in a moment. Five minutes later, I asked if she was ready yet. She promptly replied that they had just received a large order and there were only three employees working, but I did not get a single update for twenty minutes. I finally decided to leave around midnight. Based on many other reviews about this location, I may have saved myself from food poisoning. read more

This will be the third JiTB I've visited in the Indianapolis area, having been to several in western states years ago. As a small chain, they often seem more of a curiosity than a fast food place. I usually order a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger and 2 tacos. The locations on Post Road and U.S. 31 and County Line Road were really underwhelming. The food was satisfactory but barely warm. The Post Road location seemed to be running on chaos and no one seemed to care. This location on west 38th was good. Maybe, it's just because they still have "we're new" feeling, but they're trying harder than the other two locations. My sandwich was almost hot--left-handed compliment, right? It was good and they were trying to do the right thing. The tacos I ate after the sandwich were also good, with plenty of lettuce. I can't say that they'll ever be as good to me as a Hardee's or Carl's Jr. with Red Burrito/Green Burrito but they're half the price. If JiTB will get more of their stores to be like this one is now, they'll have too many customers. They could fix some of their California locations--it's not just a problem with Indiana locations. read more

I just drove 20 minutes on my lunch break (12:30am) and the woman operating the drive-their says "I'm not taking any large orders because I'm here by myself" I was wanting to order food for myself and 2 of my coworkers so I was left with no choice but to drive away. Wow. They need to do the public and themselves a favor and just close down this location, altogether. Really. Unbelievably bad. I finally was able to actually order after three other people interrupted to have their previously screwed up orders corrected. Then, the shake machine was not working. Then it took 21 minutes to get three burgers that arrived with cold meat and cheese. Two other people in the dining room told me they had already waited longer than that. I watched the kitchen staff poke around aimlessly for what seemed like an eternity and it reminded me of watching snails crossing sidewalks. The dirty dining room and restroom seemed like just another obligatory part of this fast food hell, as did the empty sauce containers in the condiment station. Disgusted, I decided to throw away the cold crap they took 21 minutes to serve me and just leave when I heard the manager telling the new customers that came in that it would take at least 10-15 minutes to cook anything. Yeah, right. It will take them longer than that to figure out entirely new ways to screw up the order! Honestly, I would chalk the the whole thing up to horribly incompetent management and completely inept staff, but I can't help but think it runs deeper than that. This isn't just carelessness or apathy. One has to be downright hostile toward their job to do it this badly. I give this a lower then 3 for the staff mainly. When you are ordering you don't expect the cashier to keep talking to the back staff and laughing, you expect the attention to you at that time. Incompetent describes the Jack in the Box on W. 38st. This spring I went there for the first time and had a breakfast meal with no problem. When I returned the next week they totally screwed up my order, so I got a refund and left. A few weeks later I returned and stood at the counter for several minutes, but when no one took my order I left. On Friday afternoon July 26th I went back and ordered the egg and cheese muffin and told the man at the counter to hold the sausage. He asked, you want bacon? No, I only want egg and cheese, no meat. I repeat this to him several times, egg and cheese only. Ten minutes later I go to the counter. and ask where is my food? It was on the shelf. I check my order and yep they screwed it up and put sausage on it. I tell them they messed up my order and want my money back. (I was annoyed but didn't cuss or yell) The manager says where's your receipt? I wasn't given one. The cook came out and realized that the order was screwed up and it seemed like she wanted to remake it. But the manager says I already want my money back, and she gave me a refund but when leaving I said, I guess Jack in the Box don't want my money. Not only did they lose my business, but they had to throw out the food, that wasn't what I ordered. The fact that there are employees who don't know how to take an order correctly, or to how make an order correctly reflects poorly on the Management. It's mostly been clean inside and the food has always tasted the way I expect it to. I've never had remarkably good or bad service. This is just a Jack doin it's thing. I ordered a chicken teriyaki rice bowl with extra teriyaki sauce, a 7 pc stuffed jalapeños, and 3 egg rolls. I didn't get any sauce, bowl half empty, jalapeños... How do you manage to burn something that's still mushy? Inedible. The egg rolls would have been great if they weren't burnt and if I had the dipping sauces I asked for. This place is about as fun as diarrhea on an airplane. I only like the Chicken Teriyaki Bowls...and that is just not in cards at the 38th Street Jack in the Box. I went 2 months ago..."I'm sorry we don't have Rice". I went back a few days ago and low and behold they STILL DID NOT HAVE RICE! (really they are just to lazy to cook it.) So I asked for a bowl without the rice. It was literally a bowl of Teriyaki sauce and 1 sad stalk of Broccoli. (That I paid $6 for). Ohh! And that took them 15 minutes to pull off.
