I came here for brunch.I Went into the drive thru and I swear I was in there for at least 20 to 30 minutes!.At least the window person apologized for the wait.So I ordered the Limited time HOTMESS munchie meal.I asked if they could substitute onion rings instead the curly fries?.but,they said they couldn't So I just ordered a side of it.Also I got the a 3 piece jalapeño poppers.The poppers was good with the ranch.The onion rings is always good and crunchy my favorite but the hotmess burger wasn't so great.The sour dough bun was rubbery,I had to peel off the crust.The over all appearance was a disappointment.The double cheese burger is bigger.Also the sauce just overwhelmed everything.Thats all I could taste.To me I rate the hotmess burger 4 out of 10.At least the meal came with a jack antenna ball.Ill just stick to the regular munchie meals. read more

I'm visiting the island from South Dakota and we retuned late from an activity. There was nothing open in Kapaa where we are staying so we looked online. I was so excited to see that there was a jack in the box in Lihue because it was my favorite place when I lived in California. The website listed the hours as 6am to 10pm. It was 9pm and a 20 minute drive from Kapaa. We jumped in the car to hightail it there as we were starving. We pull up around 9:25 and we see a guy out front putting a chain across the drive thru, I was like No! We go up and knock on the door and ask why they are closed since the hours on the door say 10pm. The girl says we are cleaning up and she'll go ask the manager. She returns and just says Sorry. Today they had quite a long wait due to being understaffed, but the employees were very kind and just trying their best to help all of the customers they had. There was one specific customer inside that was so very disrespectful and disgusting to the employees. They were very patient and tried to help him the best they could, but he just seemed to be one of those people who like to make his problems everyone else's. The employees were so kind and when I did end up getting my food it was great!! I feel so bad about how they were treated by this customer. THE CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!! I am VERY disappointed about their service to say the least! We put in our order and the person taking our order had to ask us to repeat practically everything we ordered. Got to the window and first of all, they gave us the wrong fries, and the lady was rude. My husband told her they were missing something in our order and she said "no, that's your order, that's all we have here, this is your reciept" which even THAT was wrong. I eat here mostly for breakfast when on the go back home. Decided to grab a quick bite while on vacation. I don't usually write reviews for fast food but I was extremely impressed with this location. The inside was extremely clean, workers were well groomed, and very friendly. The presentation of food was another great quality of this location. I love the #21supreme crossant breakfast with orange juice. When I usually order this from other locations back home, the crossant is flat and dark in color, bacon is burnt, egg usually over cooked and falling out of the sandwich. This time around I was presented with a fluffy light colored crossant, nicely placed filling, and not over cooked. Also tried the fried rice which had limited shoyu so flavor was bland. But included a good amount of eggs, sausage and spam. Great great job here and workers were amazing! read more

Made the HUGE MISTAKE of ordering ahead through the App because despite this store listed as 24 Hours, it's actually CLOSED! Now I'm SOL on a late at night and with less money because I was ALREADY charged for an order I CANNOT PICK UP! This is NOT the first time this happened too! The staff at this place is completely incompetent. I ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup only. I had to repeat that about four times before the guy seemed to understand it. However, when I got the cheeseburger, it had everything on it but ketchup. Seriously, how difficult is that to do correctly? I also ordered the $4.00 tiny tacos. After sitting down to eat, I discovered I was charged $4.99. I went back to the counter to complain about being overcharged, and the guy acted like a deer in headlights. When I asked for a refund, he just walked away. I continued to complain about being overcharged, but he didn't have a clue what to do. They finally gave me the name of the manager. I really never like to leave bad reviews, but this one was a bummer. I went to Jack in the box, ordered a chicken sandwich meal. I received a sandwich and small drink (for $12+). I asked where the fries were, and they said it was separate. So I ordered a small fries (which was almost $5 extra).... Since when does a meal not come with fries? I understand it's slow due to its being shortstaffed. However someone needs to change the schedule if jack in the box doesn't open 24 hours. People have been saying this for months now and still no changes for the schedule. Another problem is one of the employees, the old lady with the short hair who's taking orders through drive thru. She is incredibly rude and yells at me if I don't hold on, when I do hold on I have to hold on for like 3 mintues and I ask if she's still there, she would yelled at me. She gives attitude not to only me but other costumers that told me their experience. I do not understand how she is not fired. Listen. I'm on vacation, and I'm eating fast food, and I don't care!! It's normally a hard-and-fast rule that when we visit a new place, we eat the local food and try to avoid all chains & generic meals. But I had to make an exception for the brand new Jack in the Box in Lihue, which must have open very shortly before we arrived on the island. Considering that New Jersey does not have this chain, and that there was a *special menu* here in Hawaii, I gleefully classified this as "local fare" and tried it! (Disclaimer: I have had Jack in the Box one other time in my life, in Las Vegas, and I hated it. So this was a big deal for me!) So why did I make this exception? ALL SPAM EVERYTHING. Okay, this is an exaggeration. But there is actually Spam on the menu! Like real SPAM. And there is a Spam Teriyaki Jr. Jack, and you pretty much have to have it. Spam and teriyaki sauce is a magical combination, and this is the cheapest way to taste it on the island. There is also a Spam breakfast croissant sandwich, and it is worth a taste as well. (Man can't live on loco moco alone, amirite?) Everything is fresh and the spam is a lovely addition to the sausage patty. Truth: service is slow. I think they're overwhelmed with the newness of it all, and hopefully that will improve over time. But when you consider the normally high price of restaurant food on Kauai ... this is a really decent low-cost meal alternative! And thus, four stars. After a super hot day at Kilihona Plantation, we wanted some water and some quick food. Jack in the Box to the rescue, this was the first place we saw when we left. Not surprisingly, it was more expensive than what we see in the mainland which is fine. Among the usual chains, I do have a bias towards JITB. I don't know what happened today but it was the worst Jack in the box experience I have ever had anywhere in the USA. Kauai location. Was in line forever, that part I was really ok with. Waited at the window for another three minutes. Paid and asked the server for Taco sauce and ketchup twice. Never got any. Patty melt was cold and one side wasn't grilled at all. Fries were cold. The ultimate cheeseburger was ordered with mustard and mayo only. Had ketchup on it and was cold. The Chocolate shake was watery. I visited Jack in the Box Kauai with family after being disappointed at another well-known eatery near the Lihue airport. My party had fresh little Jack burgers with fresh lettuce and fries and I also ordered with the portugese sausage and bacon fried rice, which was delicious. When we got the order, her hamburger was covered in pickles. I pointed out the mistake, only to have the cashier insist I said, "No mustard" and refuse to remake the order! I know what I said. Would like to give this restaurant a zero, but it won't let me. My wife and I went through the drive through today, placed our order and the lady who spoke very poor English gave us a price which neither of us could understand. When I asked her to repeat the price, she said, just a minute and never got back to us. We waited and when no response drove to the pickup window. The woman who was taking orders, pouring drinks and handing orders, presumably by herself, then told us the order was over $26 when it should have been just over $16. I handed her $40, she gave me some change and pr oceded to hand me some blue colored drink instead of the sprite we had ordered. I said that's not my order. She looked at me totally confused. I repeated what we had ordered and she said " you never made an order". I said yes we did and you told us a price. She said again, you never made an order band just stood there holding this blue drink. I told her to give me my 40.00 back, gave her the change back and left.
