Fast Food Disaster! During these COVID times I am trying to be patient and understanding. Especially with restaurants. I work with many restaurants & understand their struggle, keeping their staff and customers safe. Nevertheless, when a restaurant does not recognize their customers presence or has someone take responsibility for the way they neglect certain aspects of their business, that's when I must stand up and say something. Yesterday around 1:30pm, I decided to stop by for a quick bite before heading on a small road trip. The drive through line was super long so I decided to order inside and wait. Expecting the wait to be slightly less, I soon realized that was not the case. There was one man waiting for his order and he was completed ignored as he had questions until finally someone came back to him and gave him his order but I could tell he left upset. First red flag. 15 minutes later, after not one person coming out to say "sorry for the wait, we'll be right with you" I decided to speak up for the 5 people waiting in line to order. I said excuse me (calmly but loudly) about 4 times. Finally I got irritated because all the staff was ignoring me completely so I literally yelled "excuse me!" I understand you are busy and drive-through is your priority but if that is the case, why not close your doors and just stick to your strength, the drive-thru. Finally, a young lady came up to me and apologized. All while the manager walk by us and also completed ignored me, us & how upset I was specifically. There is no way he didn't hear me yell excuse me. No wonder there was no organization, that all starts with the leadership at any establishment. I would highly recommend some new training and/or protocols for walk in orders and drive-thru because clearly both at the same time are clearly not working. I waited 15 minutes hoping that your staff and managers would do their job...but no, they do not care at all about customer service. So I left and went and purcahsed food at popeyes on glenoaks in Sylmar. Now their employees were great and friendly and and provided great customer service. If this is how Jack in the Box's employees and managers act towards paying, hungry customers...is a huge disappointment. And I hope that someone takes action and offers these managers and employees a class in customer service.. in my opinion I would hire a new staff altogether that understands that a happy customer is what creates a successful business. read more

I work in the restaurant business as I am writing this and I definitely know the struggle with take-out and patio dining. As a manger you have to have a thick skin and be as hospitable as you can EVEN when guests are in the wrong or just plain crazy (these are the people who never worked in this business). When we screw up an order I take it upon myself to make it right and apologize no matter how busy I am! My order was placed through Postmates today and they did not pack one of my items which my son loves! SO I went down there to pick it up to only be told that I had to go thru the drive-thru since they are not letting people in, at the same time someone literally just walked out of the store with food.....ummmm, should I feel discriminated? Anyways, they let me in since I explained to them what I was here for and not wait in a mile long line. I spoke to a lady and all she did was ask what I needed, I told her what happened, dropped the item forgotten on the counter and no apology, AS IF THIS IS THEIR NORM! I can tolerate a lot, and I have been a fan of this chain for a very long time. But this is the worst one I have been to out of about twenty or so, over the last many years. Warning: they exist due to the massive traffic flow that goes past it, meaning they don't have to foster repeat business to survive. Clearly. 1) I was in there for over ten minutes, never got to place an order. The line did not move and things I saw/heard resulted in me leaving. 2) There was one guy there. I watched him argue with a customer over whether a drink was a medium or regular. The customer clearly didn't understand what his point was (he wanted the customer to order it based on the wording they use, which I kind of can understand, but it was just cold and rude). There was a flock of other guys running back and forth behind him, not sure what they were doing (see 3) below). 3) I watched three customers come up (two drive through who walked in, one dine-in) who said there order was wrong. 4) there was a homeless guy guarding the bathroom door and doing a weird "look-out" thing, looking around to see if someone was coming, plus he had what looked to be a lot of his stuff with him, as in he "camps out" in there. The look-out thing was comical because it seemed exagerrated. But in any case, he was guarding the bathroom door for someone else for who knows what reason, but clearly the management there is totally fine on homeless people setting up camp inside (which I'm sure makes the employees miserable). I left without placing an order for the I believe only time in my life of going to Jack in the Box. I only go about once a year now that I'm older so it's not a big deal and I'll go to the usual one when I get the urge again, but this place has to be driving other business away if this is how they handle it. read more

I was an employee there last month and was treated very rudely. Out of all my jobs I had in the past I would have to say this is the worst of all. I observed a manger as well as employees Smoke Marijuana In the restroom as well as perform sexual activity In the employee break room. When I had brought it up to the store manger joanna she said " ok thank you for letting me know i will put this as Anonymous and look into". When I came back to work a day later I noticed my fellow employees were acting very strange towards me and was making rude comments about me and was not helping with my work because I had barley started working there so I was still in training. When the manager I had reported had came to work on shift with me she completely ignored any help and questions that I needed. The manager continued being very rude to me and started separating me from my co-workers and had me doing very unrealistic assignments at work. When I had contacted the store manger she told me " you need to figure it out and you can leave if you want I'm not stopping you". I felt extremely uncomfortable working there with everyone on my shift knowing they felt some type of way against me and it was putting my job at risk. After that I started getting complaints from "customers" stating I cussed out a customer as well as to try to fight a customer and when the report was made I wasn't even working. Then apparently money started coming short out of my cash register and I barley used my cash register and when I used it I was being Monitored by a camera. The store manager winded up Terminating me without a valid reason for termination. I tried to reach out to Corporate but never received a response. I'm writing this review to inform customers as well as future employees that this is how you will be treated if you decide to further your career In Jack in the box. read more

After realizing the San Fernando location was closed I came to this Jack in the Box Today, Wednesday 08/05/20 around 12pm-1pm and went in to order for take out. The Worker on the register who goes by the name Eduardo O helped me out in a very helpful and caring manner. He bared with us and was super patient as we were still deciding what we wanted as we ordered. Once we ordered he was enforcing the 6 feet rule and told us exactly where to wait and actually asked a few other customers where to wait as well for all of our safety. I appreciate this especially because a lot of customers don't usually follow the cdc guidelines. Great worker I usually don't go to this location but when I'm in the area I'll definitely consider stopping by more often now. It's the little things that make a big impact. read more

Came at around 4am on 2/20/20 and woman told me that the system was down and not accepting debit or credit cards. She mentioned that it would be up and running within 15-20 minutes. I waited it out and returned at 4:30am, she said that their computer was still not working. I'm not here complaining about them, I'm here to complain about this location. Its happened to me here about 10 times already, where when I drive here late after work I wonder if the card machines going to work, RIDICULOUS It's 2020 and you guys still have problems with systems? Get with the program, your company loses money with this, I saw them reject 5-10 customers. I came to visit my Aunt at Sylmar. I came all the way from the Bay Area. And I have to say that the customer service here at Sylmar's Jack in the Box was A+++!! Way better than back at home! Our cashier, named Dhestinney was just the sweetest and nicest person I've ever met. She had a smile in her face the entire time. We had the most complicated orders since I was buying food for my whole family and everyone has their picky sides. I felt so welcomed! I am so coming here every time I visit my aunt. Jack-in-the-box is like any other fast food restaurant. They claim that " . . . [they] don't make it till you order it" and i kinda believe that because they aren't the fastest fast food place I've been too. This location in particular has a "24 hour drive-thru" which is very convenient however, it is extremely annoying at times. Since this location is in the valley where there are a lot of high school parties and kickbacks Jack-in-the-crack becomes their go-to place for some late night meals.
