I am usually not a fan of Ono, the customer service, consistency and quality are usually not there for me. But my bf is a fan. A few weeks ago I begrudgingly agreed to go because he really wanted it. There is a man that works there now that I'm presuming is a supervisor of some sort, and MAN has he turned my feelings about Ono around. His customer service is actually so top tier, keeps tabs on everyone's order, even walked it over to me while I sat at a table when it was done. The food quality, portions and consistency has been seriously great since he's been here. I've come in 4-5 times over the last month or two and when he's there, it's running like a well oiled machine, and the food has actually been great! First time at this location! We were in the area picking up some things from Bottle Shoppe down the street and decided to grab some food to enjoy at home! Big parking lot, shared with a bunch of other shops including Food 4 Less. Seemed like a smaller location compared to the one we go to on Sepulveda, felt a bit more cramped. The cashier lady didn't seem very friendly, maybe a bad day but she had no facial expression and didn't seem to care about her job. Ordered my usual Kalbi short rib, got teriyaki chicken for my mom, and chicken katsu for my bf. The sauces are on the counter that you have to pump yourself so make sure to get what you need before leaving or else you'll be sad lol. I really enjoy my Kalbi with Katsu sauce, gives it that perfect sweetness mixed with savory. Everything was delicious and even had some leftover for dinner! I never care for the cabbage it comes with, I wonder if you can opt it for more rice or something. Overall delicious and nice for the sake of large parking. Otherwise too out of the way. Lots of parking when I went around 5pm! Ordered Togo via website! Was super easy! Only complaint is no Apple Pay xD Inside was small, compact, and well air conditioned. They have a seating inside and they have a couple seats outside. Condiments were stocked. Inside they offer a self serve condiment bar. My favorite was that the teriyaki sauce dispenses warm! I got the BBQ & Katsu Mix Bbq chicken-well marinaded very balanced soy flavor slightly sweet BBQ Beef- very tender meat morsels very flavorful (just be careful some pieces are harder to chew) ;D Katsu- chicken thigh deep fried! Very excited to try chicken katsu. Also bought spam musubi to go. I got home and there's no katsu sauce! Wouldn't it make more sense that if you're not dining in they will put katsu sauce in the bag! Chicken is fried in old oil. Tasted rancid. Crust is hard and thick. Chicken was not cleaned well before breading. Spam musubi order comes in 2-musubi. Too much rice and less spam. This place is fantastic! My first time here, not knowing what to expect. The menu is large, and so are the portions! I got the bbq chicken/beef plate and it's so much food I can't finish it all. What started off as a lovely eating experience at this location has quickly came to an end. I've never experienced anything like last night. Usually the customer service is great , but today changes all of that last night. I ordered the family meal because it was late and I was tired and I needed to feed my children, my food arrived. It was burnt now I understand things have to get grilled and maybe some charred bits but everything was burnt to the point to where we couldn't even eat it because it tasted burnt and dry, we ended up eating vegetables, rice and macaroni salad for dinner because the meat was to burnt so I decided to call today when I got off work and talk to a manager to see if we can resolve this issue, I didn't want a refund I wanted credit towards another family meal because my food was burnt up but she only offered me $24 and I had paid $84 for my meal and she told me that I should get in contact with corporate and see what corporate can do. She gave me a number that did not work and she also gave me a fake name and decided it was best to not resolve the issue at all by hanging up on my face.
