It took 20 minutes to get to the pickup window, and once there I had to park out front to wait longer, (because I ordered tacos). Jack in ukiah has a bad rep of missing items, terrible customer service, horrible location, but I do have to say, when you're hungry in the middle of the night and you come to a long line not knowing only ONE man was running the whole restaurant, I can not complain. Instead, I want to praise Albaco running the drive thru, preparing everyone's food, walking outside delivering each order to help the next customer, I can NOT praise this man enough because he is one of the hardest working people I've come across. I've come across him before but never acknowledged him until today when I asked if he was working by himself. I'm beginning to think that the population of Ukiah can make any chain store/restaurant successful and likeable! After a run into Wal-Mart, I was on the prowl for NOW food. I had another 2 hr drive going south through SF and towards San Mateo and I needed substance! Jack in the Cracks it is! Drive-thru was a breeze, the cashier/to-go person was really really friendly and super cute! Anyhow, it's super rare to see someone smile in a fast-food joint - what a pleasant surprise! Got a chicken pita w/ fries and a Diet Coke. The pita was stuffed w/ slightly salted grilled chicken and super green/crisp lettuce, juicy chopped tomatoes....not perfect as a drive food, but definitely yummy! Fries - good! I have been ordering through the drive thru the chicken teriyaki bowl combo with 2 extra egg rolls (total of 3) for years. They usually are added for about $2 more for both eggrolls. The new person was insisting I was wrong and was tryin to charge me $2 more for each one $4 total. So I went inside and tried to order through a different person. Same clueless result. Then you add all the homeless people lining up the drive thru. Word is the owner of Jack in the Box doesn't want to get on board with the surrounding businesses to help clean up the homeless mess which make the area a complete dive. Stay away! I agree this Jack in the Box fast food has very friendly staff:) and I could say this because I worked here for 2 years:) 2007-2008. I really enjoyed working here because of the fact the management really knew what they were doing, they treat their employees well witch in return give great customer service. The food is good too, I like the fact they have more options like jalapeño poppers, and potato cheese wedges, and chicken pitas unlike other fast food restaurants. One of my favorite, and I could even compare to a restaurant is their mozzarella cheese sticks. They are the bomb! They also have the best buttermilk ranch dipping sauce! EWW!! this place is disgusting! Besides the rampant homeless problem that is all around the building and at their buildings tables that they do nothing about the rest of the place is flat out nasty . The worker was filthy dirt caked on her hands and black finger nails from dirt. Food all over her hands. She grabbed my iced coffee from the top I just could not drink or eat my food just thinking of how if the lady is that filthy what are the rest of the employees like??! Not only did they mess up our order (I only ordered 1 value meal), but they didn't put the lid on the soda so when I went to grab it from my drink holder in my car, it exploded all over me!! This spot is serving some cold nasty microwave looking like food! Don't expect to get warm curly fries or fresh jack tacos, you will be wasting your money even if it's a dollar! As sensitively as one can put this, the locals know this Jack in the Box as a regular homeless hang-out (see photo). It's situated across from the Wal-Mart parking lot, where a lot of the less fortunate like to congregate and camp out. Its outdoor seating beckons those transients to sit, hang out, and occasionally even solicit donations from drive-thru visitors. So... not a great spot to enjoy lunch al fresco with the fam, and not the pride and joy of Ukiah. That said, we still go here, and the food is fine, we just know what to expect, and we usually get it to go. Most of the other fast-food joints in Ukiah are fine. Burger King has a great vineyard view, and the McDonald's and Chipotle on Perkins are still fairly new, as is the In-and-Out on N. State. You can also pick up cheap eats at our new Costco just up the street from here (I don't believe you need a membership if you pay cash). read more

I finally asked the girl behind the counter if she had forgotten my order. She looked at me with the deer in the headlights look. I made my way through the smelly homeless people and left. The manager was sitting at a table and saw the whole thing. She didn't even make an effort to intervene. They kept my money and I left with nothing. Horrible customer service, incompetent & rude employee's who constantly are messing up orders & they're terribly slow to boot! Just a horrible experience going there! I went there the other night and they messed my order up.When I called the manager who answered argue with me & called me a liar! basically that is how I took it anyways when he tells me I'm wrong! Said that the employee remembered putting the things in the bag. They didn't! At this point I'm getting pissed & I let a few cuss words slip out because I was upset at being called a liar & wasting my time. I'd rather be cussed at myself, rather than call the liar, but I digress. So, anyways, he hung up because he didn't want to hear me cussing at him he said, why the same time calling me a liar basically. At this point I am pissed! I wait a few minutes, to calm down, & call back. This time a regular crew member answers the phone. The redhead girl who tried to fill my order. I asked for the manager's name and the phone number for the corporate office or higher up manager that I could speak with. the lady told me they are no longer corporate there was no numbers that I could get to speak with anyone and she refused to even give me her name. said they would replace two tacos of the four that they messed up on my order but I'd have to walk in and get him myself when I was without transportation in way way from the store. I work nights so I sleep in the day and they said I could have to talk to the manager came in the morning if I wanted to have this problem resolved any further.
