I love this place. This is the best brewery around the area. For some reason they never answer the phone. I've tried to place orders on the phone to pick up at least 3 times in the last couple of months and no one answers (I always go somewhere else folks). Otherwise, the food is great. This brewery is so fun, has tons of natural light, and is extremely modern. They are true to Pennsylvania and serve only alcohol that comes from the state. Their food is delicious! Be aware that there are often long wait times because the restaurant does not take reservations. I will say that the food and ambiance are well worth the wait. Much more than I expected in little ol' Lewisburg! It's kinda small, like almost guaranteed a decent wait in the winter (only 11 tables inside and the bar isn't open because of COVID), but a super cute place. Garage doors on the side (for inside-outside feel in the summer) and a cute outdoor seating area. It's pet friendly outside too! Staff were friendly and allowed me to see the food runway style as they were bringing food out to other customers. The hostess handled a hard of hearing/deaf couple so sweetly! She used ASL to say "thank you" on their way out. What a nice touch! A good mix of music always helps. If COVID didn't hit, I'm sure this place would be packed...standing room only. The brewery is great. Wonderful welcoming and friendly service. Very new building, great vibes. I visit a lot of craft breweries and the beer here was very good. I tried 4 different beers and ended up buying a four pack of foggy doo's to take home. The food was alright but I don't go to breweries expecting gourmet food, I come for the beer. If you are in the Lewisburg area you won't find better beer and nicer service than at jackass brewery. read more

I hate when restaurants act as if they're doing you a favor by serving you. The hostess almost didn't seat us because the other couple who was supposed to meet us didn't arrive yet. She claimed, "We usually don't seat you until the entire party is here." The place wasn't packed. Plus, the picnic tables are large enough for 6 people, but if you're a party of 2, you get seated at the same size table. This was my 1st time here after hearing about it from a friend! There is plenty of space to sit and enjoy some good and drinks with friends. When the weather is nice out they have garage doors they open up to let the customers drink outside and let the fresh air in! On Sundays they only have a brunch menu but other days they have a normal lunch and dinner menu! My waitress was very friendly, my meal was excellent and my beer was outstanding! I've tried their beer 5+ times and it has just been consistently meh. It usually has an aftertaste of tank cleaner and has never once tasted like the style I ordered. Their west coast IPA tasted like a lager mixed with dish soap and their hazy tasted like a wheat beer mixed with dish soap If you stack the quality of their beer next to Old Forge or New Trail, it's comical how bad Jackass is. We stopped in for their official opening and they had a large crowd to welcome the new Jackass Brewing Company to Lewisburg. We had some of their own beer and some appetizers and sliders for dinner. Service was a little slow but that was expected with large crowd. Everything that we tried was very good. This is going to be one of my favorite places for food and beer after work. Covid? What covid? Despite the posting of "masks required" and "staff wears masks," there was not a mask in sight on Friday, December 17th, when my husband and I stopped in for a casual dinner. Also there was no distancing of tables. So you're definitely taking your chances with covid at Jackass. During a weekend in Lewisburg, PA with my daughter, we had dinner at Jackass Brewing. Had a really great time, the restaurant is beautiful with a really nice outdoor area which we couldn't use as it was very chilly that evening. The food was great.....don't miss out on the "Mother Cluckers" - very delicious. They have a great cocktail menu and the wait staff was fantastic. We even bought some beer to take back to our husbands. All in all, it was a wonderful evening. I recommend Jackass Brewing for anyone in the area. read more

I gave them a second chance! I am a mug club member and will not be renewing my membership. We attended their soft opening on March 1st of 2020. Right before the world changed. I was disappointed then as well. Lukewarm beer and the IPA did not seem like it. The beer just isn't good. I gave them a chance for their one year anniversary. Same performance. The IPA was strange and my food was not hot. The owners walked around and socialized with folks they knew. They should have socialized with everyone. I am pulling from experience traveling through New England, the midwest and Colorado. I do not understand the attraction to this establishment. I am assuming it's because they cornered the market in a small town that has a somewhat higher income bracket compared to the surrounding areas. I have had conversations with friends and acquaintances and they feel the same way. The server did an excellent job and I never take a bad experience out on them. First time at the Jackass BC and it was not a lasting impression. Invited out to this establishment by loved ones who provided name and phone number to the hostess. They arrived about ten minutes before us and we sat at the bar waiting for our table. Twenty minutes past as we observed walk ins being seated. It took two inquiries with the host and hostess to find the hostess who was given the name and phone number never recorded it. The appetizers were good. The entrees were mediocre at best. I make better pork ribs, the chicken was over cooked, better breweries in the valley and the service was pathetic. Won't be returning. read more

I like the restaurant, the food is great. They have a great outdoor patio and they are dog friendly, which is a positive during COVID. But, I am not a fan of their beer. Everything else is great. I am a fan of hoppy, citrus IPA's and I have never had a beer that has flavor at the restaurant. But, if your a Miller Light kind of guy, this is the perfect beer pub for you. read more

I spent a week tooling around route 45 while my son skated his heart out at Camp Woodward, PA. I did spend a lot of time and coin at the Rusty Rail in Mifflinburg mainly because they were closer. However, Jackass came highly recommended and I am happy that I went (on a Tuesday). Their food is top notch, the Napoleon is Dynamite (vegetarian) was amazing and I want to figure out how to recreate that at home. I had not eaten that day so as I sucked down the Pink Rubber Duck sour, it was hot and that was refreshing as hell, I realized that this fat boy ought to eat a bit more....so I went for the What the Bulgogi tacos (not vegetarian) also amazing. Caitlyn was my bartender, I was able to sit at the bar and she was awesome....note, if you do sit there do not check your phone since that is kind of rude, but mine check was short and sweet, and I got back to being sociable. They have a feature that I love, the pay it forward wall and I took advantage of the "any veteran" block to get a crowler of Pink Rubber Duck, can you tell I like it? But I also paid it forward with one to " any veteran" and one to "any cop", because they deserve a beer too. I went back on the last day in town (Friday) for the Veg Out tacos and can you guess what beer? Yeah, I dig sours on hot days. Caitlyn was not working and my waitress was not overly outgoing, she would rather hang out with the other servers and socialize with them and her back to me. No biggie, I cannot say I blame her... :) However, I plan on sending my kid back to Woodward next year and hope they are still open for business, I will definitely bring mine! read more

Limited options in Lewisburg. Beer is okay and so is the food. To me this is an average at best place, certainly nothing memorable. Biggest issue is the pricing is too much for what you receive in return. When it comes to breweries there are far better options nearby so I would try this once and move on.
