Have had a few of their beers over the years, but first time visiting. Such a great experience - led be their extraordinary beer tender. I know he said his name, but I had too much fun (beer!) to remember! Very patient, super knowledgeable and took time to make sure each of us was well informed and taken care of. Set me up with a superb flight of Belgians plus a stout that was absolutely amazing. Nice layout, not too noisy, with a monthly "buy nothing" meetup with different themes. I wanted to update my review since the first time I visited this place, and mainly its the customer service/employees. TLDR: Inappropriate comments & rude/unwelcoming staff. Read the rest if you are interested. I have been coming here the last few months for their "buy nothing" events. I think its such an awesome way to help the environment, connect with community and give your gently used items a good home. When I have been coming here though, I am getting really put off by the "Staff". One incident happened where they were still setting up some things for the event and I heard a guy (i assumed worked there, based on apparel and the set up he was doing, i could be wrong though) say "come buy some beer, everyone is just here for free stuff cheap asses". I don't think that is very welcoming for individuals who attend this event. Most recently when we went to the Buy nothing event in August, my friend and I went up to the bar to ask if we could try a sample of 2 of the ciders they had. The gentleman was older, maybe 50's wearing a hat gave us the samples. We tried them as he went over to pour my friend her drink that she was PURCHASING. I asked if I could get another sample of another drink, genuinely curious of the flavor profile and trying a sample before I made my decision. This individual gave me such a hard time replying "thats going to be it for that, we aren't going to keep doing this" something along the lines of being upset that I asked for a second sample. I then told him as he went over to the station to just forget it and I wasn't going to be given a hard time. Since it was such a big deal to try another sample. Usually when I go to a tap room the employees talk about their products, the notes, and give me more info and offer a couple of different samples. Here I felt bad just for asking to try a second cider which was their new one for me. Then he came out from the side and try to give me the sample, I let him know that it was fine, and I stated I no longer wanted one. His response was " oh so you just want me to throw it out". I let him know I didn't want it before he poured it almost feel guilty for "throwing it out". I stated that he was giving me a hard time, instead of just clarifying what he meant, a simply "sorry about that" he just turned around and went off with his day. When we come here we buy multiple drinks at this event. But the employees that I have personally seen have made it a not so great experience. read more

A solid brewery that has been around for 13 years! I'm disappointed in myself for not stopping by sooner! The space is open and large with an inviting atmosphere. Let's start with the barrel aged beers, they were smooth, tasty and they can sneak up on you but I'm a sucker for these when done correctly. The weller was complex in its flavor profile with a bit of that alcohol punch that hits your throat but in the best way. On recommendation from a very friendly and kind worker behind the bar I tried the matcha stout, a lactose stout brewed with matcha. This wasn't on my to try list if I'm being honest but I'm glad I did. It hit the nose with notes of cigar smoke and chocolate and the tongue with a chocolate creamy taste with hints of matcha and vanilla. Last I tired the rice lager which is a staple on a hot summer afternoon. A thirst quencher that slight and goes down easy. Needless to say I will be back and look forward to trying something new next time I visit read more

This is the perfect place to come hang and out and have a good beer. They have a wide selection of beers. However if you're looking for a place to host an event, I highly recommend. We hosted a baby shower and everything about Jackrabbit was perfect. They made it so easy to come set up and host our baby-shower. We were able to have the whole back area to our party. I've always been a fan of Jackrabbit Brewing Company. Their beers are legit and they have a great peach pale ale! Their tasting room is in a commercial area of West Sacramento, but don't let that fool you. It's plenty comfortable inside. It's clean, spacious, and dimly lit which I think makes it more relaxing. They have a big bar, bigger selecting of beer. The bartenders are friendly, are knowledgeable about the beers, and will give you samples. It's a great place! read more

Small private parking lot, otherwise street parking along Terminal x Port. PBS KVIE Trivia night was held at Jackrabbit Brewing on Thursday, 7/24 at 6:30 PM. If you reserved in advance on Eventbrite (free admission), you also received a PBS Nerd Pint Glass at check-in. This was mainly science-themed since it was hosted by one of the senior producers of NOVA, but tested knowledge on PBS classics, pop culture, and general science. There were questions from PBS Kids (Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, The Magic School Bus, Arthur, Daniel Tiger), Masterpiece (Downton Abbey, All Creatures Great and Small, Call the Midwife), NOVA, Nature, America's Heartland, etc. There was also a raffle at the end for three prizes: Bob Ross gift basket/set, Pati Jinich gift basket/set, or a Rick Steves gift basket/set. The food truck onsite that night was Old Coyote (Pupusas), and seating was first come, first served. My team of 5 sat outside on the patio, but speakers were set up so everyone could hear the trivia questions, and a few of my crew sipped on some brews, including a peanut butter [chocolate?] stout too. Steve and myself recently had a very good sour from Jackrabbit Brewing Company. The name f the beer was the Cherry Pie Sour. As Iave mentioned in other reviews sometimes I have concerns with sours being too sweet. But this one wasn't all. In fact it had a really good tatness toi it. Other flavor features to find with this very refreshing beer besides tart is cherry, fruitiness and some acidic presence. It is very light bodied which is nice. From light to dark, the beer offerings were unique, had correct flavor profiles, and represented creative takes on both malt forward and hoppy styles. We sought this place out after having a pint out of a can in Yosemite. We were impressed so had to swing by when we were in the area. First... beer (5): This of course is what brought us here and they didn't disappoint. Great selection from belgians to lagers to ales to sours. We had a couple flights to get a chance to try the most and honestly, none disappointed. Thats the mark of a great brewer! I always get a pint of my favorite which was the Alpha Mosaic DIPA. I even took a 4 pack of that home. Solid brew! Snacks (4): Gotta have snacks with beer so you can drink MORE! They had a food truck when we went. It was the To Do taco truck. We tried their street tacos and their Tacodilla which is basically a taco with crusted cheese. They were pricey but delicious and went well with our flights. Guest Brews (5): When we got there I was excited to see another sign saying Onibi Beer! I thought another taproom? Awesome! Apparently its just another brewery that has their brews on tap at Jackrabbit. We did get to try a few of theirs and we were blown away! Amazing brews! The standout for us was their Tatarimoke black lager. Amazing flavor and body. I was amazed it was a lager! Yep, we took their last 4-pack home with us. Beertender (3): We've been to a LOT of breweries and taprooms and almost always I have nothing but good things to say about the beertenders. They're generally knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, you know, just what you expect from the beer community. I honestly was unimpressed here which is sad. He wasn't really that busy but I felt like I just didn't want to order from him. Not really friendly or helpful. Maybe just had a bad day but the beer community has a specific vibe to it that we enjoy and he did not contribute to that joy. Just sayin... this was our experience. Overall, great taproom! Bored at home and thought let's try something new so I suggested to my partner let's try a new brewery. We came to jackrabbit and really enjoyed our time there. They have a wide selection of beers and sours; you can try before you buy, customer service was really friendly & knowledgeable, and the overall vibe was chilled. I appreciate that the Sacramento area is blessed with many good to excellent microbreweries. This was recently underlined when I recently traveled and visited another brewery in a resort town that I had good memories of in the past. I still liked their beers, but well, their brews just aren't as exceptional as some of the regular fare at the best of my regular favorite breweries at home....of which Jack Rabbit Brewing is decidedly one. It's brought my attention to the fact that the greater Sac area microbrewery scene is pretty frickin' good these days. On this particular visit, we had our dog and a bag of delicious fresh Mexican food from a nearby restaurant with us and had the very pleasant task of picking a to accompany the meal. After a bit of sampling ( I love that breweries do this), we happily selected the Kessel Geld, a malty German beer. It paired well with the Al pastor burrito, the barbacoa taco, and the shrimp ceviche tostada food. It enhanced the meal nicely. The staff here is pretty frickin'wonderful, too. They welcomed our pooch and overall, made us feel like this was our local brewhall (oh, wait...it is!) Viva La Jack Rabbit Brewing!!! read more

I told myself I'd never move back to Sacramento, but if I did, it'd definitely be for breweries like Jackrabbit. I was in town visiting a friend, and we ended up here for the first part of a bar hopping afternoon. The place was completely empty (probably just opened for the day) so we sat at the bar and ordered. Christian was our bartender, one of the most personable and chill people I've ever met. This guy has been in the industry for an impressive amount of time--it was cool hearing all about his beer knowledge and adventures. I had the Peach Pale Ale and Yuzu Wit, both of which I'd recommend. My friend and I were honestly planning to stick around just for one beer, but tasting what else was on tap and chatting with Christian, we spent a few hours instead. I had a blast, and it made me appreciate what Sacramento has grown into since I was a kid. Cheers, and I can't wait to come back here again. read more

It was the "Onibi Beer Tap Takeover x Binchoyaki and Yakitori Pairing" event on November 14th that brought me here. Picked up a can of their beer at a grocery store and I was intrigued to try these on tap. Bar tenders had everything under control. They got us started quick. Our samplers were all poured and off we went to grab a seat. All was great until we waited in line (cold outdoors) and put in our request for our order. The food is made to order so there's a bit of waiting involved which is understandable. However, their food handler decides to hand our order to someone else "free of charge". Supposedly that person claimed to be a frequent customer and felt deserving for a freebie. That tacked on another 15 minutes of waiting. It just didn't make sense at all. 30 minutes of waiting wasn't worth it. Still love the beer, but the event experience was just terrible. Beware you are not getting a better price on the Onibi 4 packs in comparison to the markets that carry them. The convenience out weighed the price for me personally so I bought a few anyway. read more

Totally surprised at how great this place was. Big place (there was a reserved party just ending when we got there). If you sit outside I suggest the front, not the back - we initially were in the back because it was so packed and I felt like we were sitting in a dull industrial area's garbage reserve. We ended up back inside after the party ended - but the front part is an excellent area to sit as well. Big selection of beer which is what I want to see when I go to a brewery. I want to see both stuff I can buy at the store and stuff I cannot buy at the store. What we had was all great. Hope to spend more time here next time we come back. My husband and I recently came to Jackrabbit Brewing Company's time while attending their taco libre event. While we were there, we had the opportunity to try a wide variety of their beers. I personally loved creating my own flights with five of their different sours. My favorite by far was the raspberry lychee sour. My husband thoroughly enjoyed that they offered a nice variety of English style beers as he is really into porters, browns, and red ales. Not being big into brew I'm the last person who should be weighing in on whether Jackrabbit Brewing Company makes better beer than whatever brewing company you currently favor. What I am good about is telling you what a non-beer drinker thinks of this place. To wit: * I appreciated the fact that they featured 4 ounce pours for people like me. I also liked that they pour them into a glass that isn't baby bear-sized. I consumed my 4 ounces feeling like I was an adult. * Like many other brewing companies I've visited, this one sits in an industrial office park with plenty of free, easy street parking available. * No food being sold here so they're all about the brew, but you can bring food in from outside to enjoy with your beer. * The IPA drinker I was with enjoyed his IPA, liked that they offered several and, totally unrelated, observed that there was a ratio of about 5 males to every 1 female in the establishment at the time we visited (late afternoon on a Thursday). This non-beer enthusiast enjoyed her time at Jackrabbit Brewing Company and thinks you will too. Even more if you love beer and men. read more
