Would be 5 stars but the parking sucks, first 2hrs free then $50 an hr for event parking. Came for trivia and every table was reserved, was told by staff we could sit in one area as the reservation was ending at7, then got assaulted by some tomb raider women in nasty manner repeating the signs said reserved til 9 over and over again. Moved to a random spot with no table #, poor waitstaff had no clue where to deliver the food of everyone forced to move. Tomb raider lady gave us no help redirecting the food, screwing over the servers. Then we sit here for the hr of trivia where those tables remained empty. Tomb raider lady do better, you were nasty in your demeanor, maybe offer an apology for the crappy seating situation everywhere. There should be reserved seating for trivia, how bout that?! Update, tomb raider just moved the signs that said reserved. No one sat there. She chased off customers and ruined the staffs flow and pissed everyone off for nothing. This is a good spot if wanting food near Sutter Health Park. It was easy to park at the ballpark, walk over to Drake's and then to the game. Super convenient! Food was good. It wasn't the best or worst. When you walk up, if you can drink alcohol, you need to show your id and get a wristband. Seating is open but there are cards on the table for reservations. So look closely at it for the time slot so you know if the table is available. Eating is outside. So if you have allergies or weather isn't to your liking, this is NOT the place for you. They have a lot of shade space. However, the infrastructure that brings shade makes the place loud (think echo chamber). To order, there's a QR code on the table. I liked how this was easy. The only odd thing was that when you order, you're ordering from different kitchens, which I didn't know when I placed the order. So when we ordered burgers and pizza. They came out at different times. We ended up getting some BBQ because only the burgers came. When I followed up with someone they said our wait for the pizza could be anywhere from 30-60 mins (). That seemed long for a personal (small) pizza. By the time the pizza came out, we were done with everything else. Pizza was good though, BBQ too. The burgers were okay. It's pretty chaotic here. I would've picked another area to eat but wanted to check it out. I didn't even take photos because we were so hungry by the time the food came. I think this place is more for vibes than food. Nice spot to go for a good beer and reasonably priced bar food. Bartender made really strong margaritas. It is pet and kid friendly. ( someone was having a two year olds birthday party on Saturday night) so kids are running all around. Down side... you have to find and pay for street parking, and walk a bit. It is also highly recommended to reserve a table online in advance. You don't get to pick your specific table, only general seating area and unfortunately our reservation ended up being directly in the sun and it was over 95 degrees outside. Entry: there's a line for ID check and wristbands, but it moves quickly. Restrooms: clean, 5 stalls per gender with plenty of sinks. No line when I went. Seating: mostly outdoor. Options include long canopy tables (fits: 6-8 people) or fireplace seating (extra $10). The building itself has really interesting architecture: loved it. There's also a small indoor area called "The Wing" with a nice bar and fun photo props. Service: ordering is done via QR code at your table and paid upfront. Food comes out fast (5-10 minutes). One hiccup: they dropped another table's pizzas at ours without confirming, and sauces cost extra, even basic ones like hot sauce have to be ordered online. Hello to my 1,000th review! I booked a reservation for Drake's online knowing that Easter Sunday would be packed and man, was I right! Not only was it packed at Drake's, but unbeknownst to me, there was also an A's game going on at the same time so parking was a nightmare! Drake's hosted a Easter event yesterday so my husband and I took our daughter and met 3 other family members. We had an assigned table which was nice and super convenient. The kids got to do a 7-12 year old egg hunt which was crazy - too many kids for the amount of eggs they put out (I saw some kids walking away crying), but they also did an adult one that consisted of only 50 eggs total even though there were double the amount of adults. Each adult egg had a beer ticket inside though! We ordered food on the QR code - a 50/50 pizza with Pepperoni and Cheese and Hot Wings. The food took a really long time to come to our table - the Hot Wings came 15 minutes, if not longer, after the pizza arrived. Both items were good though so couldn't complain too much. Overall, we had a fun time! There was a DJ who played all of the Millennial songs mixed with some great kid tunes as well. We might check it out again next year! read more

Had an afternoon in the Sac town with no plans after lunch. I went ahead and checked out the "Barn" near the Waterfront. It was 70-80's and perfect day for some "suds". I got a nice Plilsner and chilled on the patio for a bit. I looked like they had food also, but I decided on taking a patio chair and enjoyed the outdoor weather before it got hot. They had these tall heaters by the tables. That really helped in this cold day. I've been here before and always liked it. It was relaxing. The servers who brought us our meals was very nice. That beet salad with goat cheese was good, the vegetarian looking pizza was good (love the little burnt taste here and there), & crispy brussel sprouts were perfect. Finally visited Drake's for the first time. It was a fairly hot afternoon but the combo of a little breeze and the deep shade of the barn made for a pleasant time. We placed our order at the counter and took our pretty purple cocktails to a table and awaited notification that our food was ready. Unfortunately, my friend's cell phone didn't seem to buzz when the food was ready so we sat around for nearly 10 mins until we figured out the food was ready for us. Many tables were reserved so if you can plan ahead, that will set you up for success. That being said, the vibes were high, the pizza was delicious, and the beer was cold and crispy. Drakes the barn is an amazing spot to get some beers, take the family, enjoy the music and vibes. My wife and I are on a road trip and this was a stop to meet up with one of my brothers in law. We came it to just enjoy a quick beer and head out. The open space and kind of camp out vibe was amazing. If it's hot try to grab a space with shade otherwise you would get cooked. They have fire pits and games so you really can't go wrong. The food was ok, we got a pizza and the lemon hummus with veggies. The pizza was decent but the flour on the bottom took away the flavor. Mind you I love that they to woodfire pizza, I make woodfire pizza at home but ya just gatta watch the flour underneath to not lose the flavor or the crispness of the dough. The hummus was ok, I was hoping for a more lemony flavor and the veggies were cut really thin. As far as bang for you buck it was ok. You can get beer on tap or in cans on the left or if you walk into the building straight ahead after the entrance, you can grab some craft cocktails! Food and some drinks are really overpriced, like the slushy drinks. Be aware of pricing and choose wisely. Parking cost is terrible because of the River Cats & A's. On game day the street parking can be $30 if you are staying over 2 hours. It is cheaper to park in the LOT for $10 and walk a little ways. The Barn is a great place to socialize with friends outdoors. They have a lot of different events everything from live bands, Best of Sac, Movie nights and more. You can rent a fire pit for special occasions like birthdays. They have a great selection of beer, some wine and even craft cocktails, ask for Gerit, he's always been awesome. My beertender Jessica was so sweet, and patient helping us make our selections. She was very knowledgeable and big on giving amazing service which is very hard to find these days. I think Drake's biggest appeal is it's outdoor beer garden atmosphere. There plenty of room to move around, picnic tables, fire pits, and a big grassy area for kids and dogs to play. It's also great for beer, wine, cocktails, food, and entertainment. They have a huge assortment of beer and even let the indecisive (like me!) try samples. For the people who don't like to burp the night away, there's a good selection of wine and cocktails. There are a couple food trucks out back frying up greasy goodies for hungry patrons and food's pretty good. I've been many times and have watched Drake's grow in popularity over the years. So much so, that it's getting hard to find parking. Which is really the only drawback about this beer barn. On busy nights you have to drive around for a while, or park far away and walk! No need to get up and tell the staff where you are, and hope that you described adequately. I've enjoyed my time the times I've gone. Is the food mindblowingly good? No, but it's good enough for socializing with a group. They have a number of drinks available, so that's nice. Overall, the menu is very much casual. With the amount of people that go to Drake's, expect a wait for food. It's normal to wait quite a bit of time for a pizza. I'd suggest ordering right away, if pizza is the choice. Was here for a sunset show and the place was crowded as it should for a DJ. With how many people there were, it would've been nice if it was more organized with the use of the space and where each of the lines for each bar started and ended. You can tell that people were confused with how the lines were set up and can notice people cutting because they weren't sure if the line was where it was or further back. I did like how it was smart to have different areas serving alcohol so there were more bar areas. It was also nice that they had a decent amount of seating and mists all around so folks can stay cool in the heat. Another thing that I heard someone in the crowd say was that VIP didn't have their own bathroom area? So folks in VIP had to leave the VIP section to go to the bathroom on the other side? If it's a hot day in Sacramento, try and get a reservation ahead of time. They have plenty of misters in the huge outdoor area, but they're all over the benches that are essentially for reservations only. Thank me later. My brother thought Drake's would be a great place to have dinner with my family when we visited and they were totally right. Parking was a bit tricky, especially with it being a Friday night during summer and on the same day as the local minor league baseball team having a home game, but luckily we circled around a bit and found street parking just a couple blocks away. There is a huge grass area to let your kids run around while you eat & enjoy a good selection of beers. The day we were there they also had a local craft fair which means a good chunk of the grass was occupied by booths, but there was still plenty of space for all 5 of the kids we came with to run around, play baseball, and just be free spirited. All while the 4 adults sat on a bench and enjoyed some amazing pizzas and beers. It was just a calm, laid back, community vibe that I feel like I don't find often these days. I'm jealous that my brother and his family can come here any time they want. I will say things feel a bit disjointed. Maybe the more you go the more you will feel it out, but it felt weird that you went to one place to get drinks. Another place to get some types of food, another for another type and then a different place for napkins, etc. The fact that you have to go to at least 2 places just to order a pizza and beer seems really illogical to me. We tried using the app and it took a bit to figure out, but once again, we still had to go to 2 places to pick things up. I just wish they had a dedicated drink area, but then also let you order anything there at the pizza area. I really wanted to love this place. My daughter was doing the school of rock concert there, and we came in for the first time. We ordered nearly $70 worth of food which they delivered to the wrong table. The server let the other table pick apart our pepperoni pizza and drink our coke, and asked us to wait longer for our order. The c02 went out in the bar taps when we went to order, so we had to wait in long lines at the other bar location. It seemed like every thing we ordered- they were out of. Appreciate them allowing an all ages concert, that's the redemption. The humus is decent. read more

I arrived at about 12:30 on Memorial Day. I stood in line for nearly an hour while I watched the staff allow people in front of me to sample beers. If there are 20 people in line and they've been waiting for nearly an hour, I don't think you should be allowing people to be tasting beers. The atmosphere is fun, with music, food trucks, and small business vendors selling various items. The brewery also has food options like salads, pizza, wings, fries, and more. I'm giving this place a 3/5 because when we ordered drinks using the scan code, they came out completely watered down. The Mariposa Margarita tasted like tea - there wasn't even a hint of alcohol. Cool spot but it is all outdoors. It was cold so I asked the host if someone could turn on a heat lamp and was told it would take 10 minutes. There were two people in the host booth but no one coming in. After 10 minutes one of them came and turned it on. Don't know why we needed to wait in the cold. We put our orders in only to be told after we paid through the online ordering system that it would be an hour for food to come out. I would have left had I known that before ordering. We choose to meet and eat at The Barn, as it is located 10 minutes from Sutter Health Field. It is a great atmosphere. We loved the misters!! We dined here on a Monday night. The A's were playing the Red Sox, so I would assume The Barn team would know that they would be busy before the game. The Barn was extremly understaffed. We ordered food and soft drinks. The soft drink arrived in about 25 minutes. At the 40 minute walk, we decided to go to the kitchen to see where our food was (Fries, Chicken Tenders, Ceasar Salad and a Southwest Salad with Chicken). It turned out the Chicken Tenders, Fries & the Ceasar Salad were sitting in the kitchen window, waiting to be delivered to our table. When we inquired about our food, they handed us the ice cold Tenders and Fries and the Ceasar Salad (supposed to be table service). They were nice enough to replace the cold food with hot food. Finally the Southwestern salad was handed to me. When I got back to my table, I found out they forgot the chicken that I paid for. I do not think I have eaten a salad so fast, as we were hoping to get to the game on time, unfortunetly that did not happen. The prices here are fair. The beer selection is huge, unfortunetly the service and quality of food is still in first gear. Management needs to anticipate the crowds better. We were coming to Sac for a Yankees/Athletics game at Sutter Health Park and were so excited to know that Drake's: The Barn was within walking distance from the park. We arrived about 5 minutes after opening and it was busy enough already that they had begun a waitlist. Fortunately it was only about a 10 minute wait for the three of us. It was good to learn that reservations are common and a great option for larger parties. The space is quite large inside with plenty of shade via the overhang and umbrellas placed throughout the yard. There was plenty of seating, a DJ was playing music, the misters were flowing as well as the beer. Our beertender was friendly and was kind enough to give us some samples so we could narrow down our options. We were stoked with the extensive beer selections on tap, including some sours! Our group ended up choosing the Patches O'Houlihan Amber, the Cult of the Sun sour, the Tart Breaker cherry sour blonde, A Hop, Skip, & A Jump collab, and the Juicy Hoot IPA - each beer was cold and delicious!
