Fun West Sac hangout place!! Parking: moderately difficult (metered, popular area) Ambience: 10/10: live music, outdoor under the open sky, super relaxing. Great crowd and overall flow. Entry: there's a line for ID check and wristbands, but it moves quickly. Restrooms: clean, 5 stalls per gender with plenty of sinks. No line when I went. Seating: mostly outdoor. Options include long canopy tables (fits: 6-8 people) or fireplace seating (extra $10). The building itself has really interesting architecture: loved it. There's also a small indoor area called "The Wing" with a nice bar and fun photo props. Service: ordering is done via QR code at your table and paid upfront. Food comes out fast (5-10 minutes). One hiccup: they dropped another table's pizzas at ours without confirming, and sauces cost extra, even basic ones like hot sauce have to be ordered online. Food & drinks: burgers, pizza, wings, fries. Drinks: beers and ciders. Highly recommend the lavender lemonade. Overall: great spot for casual hangouts with friends: definitely a fun place to bring guests.

Hello to my 1,000th review! I booked a reservation for Drake's online knowing that Easter Sunday would be packed and man, was I right! Not only was it packed at Drake's, but unbeknownst to me, there was also an A's game going on at the same time so parking was a nightmare! Drake's hosted a Easter event yesterday so my husband and I took our daughter and met 3 other family members. We had an assigned table which was nice and super convenient. The kids got to do a 7-12 year old egg hunt which was crazy - too many kids for the amount of eggs they put out (I saw some kids walking away crying), but they also did an adult one that consisted of only 50 eggs total even though there were double the amount of adults. Each adult egg had a beer ticket inside though! We ordered food on the QR code - a 50/50 pizza with Pepperoni and Cheese and Hot Wings. The food took a really long time to come to our table - the Hot Wings came 15 minutes, if not longer, after the pizza arrived. Both items were good though so couldn't complain too much. Overall, we had a fun time! There was a DJ who played all of the Millennial songs mixed with some great kid tunes as well. We might check it out again next year!

Had an afternoon in the Sac town with no plans after lunch. I went ahead and checked out the "Barn" near the Waterfront. It was 70-80's and perfect day for some "suds". I got a nice Plilsner and chilled on the patio for a bit. I looked like they had food also, but I decided on taking a patio chair and enjoyed the outdoor weather before it got hot. Friendly staff and food makes it an inviting chill place. I will check it out next time I'm in the area.

Such a cool brewery! I was surprised it actually smells like a barn and the ground is sand gravel so I recommend wearing closed toed shoes. I recommend ordering from table service if you want to skip the brewery line.

We came here with our friends to enjoy an evening of relaxation and some beer! This was our first time here. Menu was limited. We've ordered two pizzas and their lemon humus dip. Price was decent. Pizzas were good. That lemon humus dip was amazing! So much so, we've ordered another round! They have a nice outdoor setting with lots of seats and tables. There were areas with fire pits, but they were all reserved when we got there. Duly noted. Staff were friendly and the company was even better!

Sunday, 1/25/2026 - @ Drake's The Barn in the afternoon. The alcoholic drinkers needed a bracelet to buy alcohol. I don't drink, so didnt need a bracelet. There were a couple of live bands playing. They had these tall heaters by the tables. That really helped in this cold day. I've been here before and always liked it. It was relaxing. The servers who brought us our meals was very nice. That beet salad with goat cheese was good, the vegetarian looking pizza was good (love the little burnt taste here and there), & crispy brussel sprouts were perfect. There is a table you can get your own water too. We had a nice time. Ps... it is paid parking. $2.00 an hour. Use the app.

I don't think I would come here unless I was leaving a River cats or A's game and wanted a beer or a bite! Nothing wrong with it, I didn't realize it was all outdoor seating with a limited menu and slow service. We ordered a pizza, wings and two cocktails. The pizza was thin crispy and had good flavor. The wings were good, but could've been a little crisp beer and we ordered them extra crispy. My husband had a beer and I had the P flower margarita it had a good flavor, but it wasn't very strong.

Came here for an event from work. We got a fire pit, s'mores, pizza, salads and hummus. Obviously super cute location and the music was great. Highlight of the night was surprisingly the Chiquita pepita salad! Surprisingly delicious especially considering that it was competing with pizza! Highly recommend it. We took leftovers home and they held up great. Would probably return for that salad :)

My yummy salad with roasted chicken added to it and a non-alcoholic margarita!

Chill outdoor atmosphere with two separate areas to get different types of drinks! I like the large outdoor space, which has tables and chairs plus lounge chairs to enjoy with friends on the grass. You can get beer on tap or in cans on the left or if you walk into the building straight ahead after the entrance, you can grab some craft cocktails! They had a small but yummy menu today, including salads, pizza and fries and I had a nice mock margarita to go with my Italian style salad. The staff is friendly and there are also seats indoors if that's more your style! I love the live music too. Not sure how often they do it but I came on a Friday to watch my friend's band play. Cheers!

Went to the barn after an A's game. Their service and beer is always A+, their food is a solid B+. Pictured is the pepperoni pizza with some ranch on the side. Dough and cheese make this pizza; the sauce needs some flavor. Overall, solid 7/10

The Barn is a great place to socialize with friends outdoors. They have a lot of different events everything from live bands, Best of Sac, Movie nights and more. You can rent a fire pit for special occasions like birthdays. They have a great selection of beer, some wine and even craft cocktails, ask for Gerit, he's always been awesome. My beertender Jessica was so sweet, and patient helping us make our selections. She was very knowledgeable and big on giving amazing service which is very hard to find these days. They have a good selection of food as well including pizzas, burgers etc. They have an Asian fusion food truck as well and offer BBQ on Sundays, though that sells out quickly. During warm months they have fun slushy drinks which I think they should offer year round lol, but I'm the kind of person that enjoys ice cream on cold days lol.

Went to happy hour to get $5 beers and once again I've been mislead. Website says core beers are $5 but when you order whats under core beers it's some how now not a core beer. We got the gilsner... Smh Also, we got fries and it was so stale....

Ask the Community - Drake’s: The Barn

    Do they have barbecue?

Burgers, sliders, pizza mostly. BBQ would be nice but I think they're trying to keep it simple.

    Do they have mosquitoes?

Not that I've seen them but the chances are they are out there especially in summers and near the water and they love humidity AND humans! I've seen yellow jackets there being what they do... super invasive especially right on your food and drinks!

Is it possible to bring your own food?

No, they serve food so no outside food is allowed.

Is the dance floor in the dirt?

There is no dance floor, unless they always designate an area for dancing after I've left.

Can you bring your own food?

    No you cannot

    Is this place wheelchair friendly?

    Yes.

Do they serve other alcoholic drinks besides beer? Do they serve whiskey?

They sure do! One bar inside the kitchen where you can order food or an outside full bar as well.

Is there an outdoor dance floor?

No, but there is a giant field.

How much is it to rent a fire pit?

    $30 an hour

Is drake's open on rainy days?

Depends on how rainy and windy. Have to check their website and social media.

Can i bring my own drinks?

No. You are not allowed to bring in drinks . I brought a bottle of wine as a gift whose party was there, I had to leave it at their entrance until leaving .

Can we bring a cake or cupcakes in if we are celebrating a bday?

Yes. There were a number of parties with cakes when we last visited

Is this a kid friendly spot? I saw we can rent fire pits. Are we able to make s'mores? 😅

Totally!! This is the reason I love this place lol the kids can run around, eat good food, and have fun while the adults do the same 🎉

    Are there gluten free options?

Not really. You can order a salad and a can of wine.

What are their summer hours? Wondering if they'll be open more days of the week.

Check their site. They're having a lot of fun summer events including food trucks and live music/movies

When you make a reservation do you get an actual table or are you just given folding chairs? Also what are the food options like?

When you make a reservation you are given a table, but it's a picnic table. If you're over 40, you're gonna wish you had a folding chair after that first hour. The restaurant has mostly pizza. There are also some salads & fries, not much food beyond…

What is the set up for movie nights? Can you see the screen from the tables or is the screen further away? Should we bring chairs/blanket?

They have lawn chairs but you can totally bring your own. You can see from probably the outermost tables and then there's a giant lawn where movies and live music happen so blankies recommended 😂

Are they allowing games to be played outside?

When I was there a couple months ago they still were not allowing games due to COVID.

Can you see the river from your outdoor seating?

No, the river is quite low due to several years of severe drought. If you exit the fence and walk across the bike path behind drakes, you can see the river and old sac.

Is the lawn area open for families' yet? No sure what current COVID rules/situation is. Thanks

    Yes it is

Looking to meet up and chat over a couple drinks, I suggested that a friend and I meet at the Mecca Club. When our Lyft driver dropped us off at the establishment (I highly recommend using a ride sharing app when visiting this bar), I honestly couldn't tell if the business was still in operation. The outside sign was not illuminated, and at the time, the two motorcycles parked outside was the only indication of patrons. However, when we opened the back door (it literally felt like entering a secret society club), we were greeted by a friendly employee named Amy, laughter from some folks at the bar, and the sound of tunes coming from the jukebox. We took a seat at the bar, Amy politely requested to see our ID's (this is a silent compliment when you're in your late 30's), and we placed our orders for our first round of margaritas. As Amy concocted our drinks (she really puts love into making each drink), she greeted the patrons that continued to file in. What really stood out about Amy was her ability to not only remember the names of the regular patrons, but also their drink preferences (now that's what I call exceptional customer service). I did not watch Amy make our drinks; therefore, I cannot attest to how many shots she put in each drink. However, I will say that the drinks that are served here are indeed stiff (by no means am I complaining). Hence, why I suggested that you utilize some form of ride sharing if this is your bar of choice. If you're not in the mood to deal with downtown/midtown parking and the increasing prices of cute craft cocktails, I highly recommend checking out Mecca Club...enjoy and please be safe!
