Service is always great and their timing for pickup orders is pretty accurate. I honestly haven't tried their other foods besides pizza but they're my go-to pizza place when I'm in the area. We really liked our experience here. Our son is special needs and currently has oxygen and is on a monitor. The hostess was gracious is giving us a table with plenty of room for him and his gear. Our waitress was so friendly and kind to our son as well. She even brought him some crackers to snack on. We ordered the garlic knots and you get so many! They were very fresh and delicious. Just make sure you like garlic (a lot). We ordered a brick oven pizza with pepperoni, sausage, bacon & roasted garlic. Pizza was great! We would have liked it to be cooked a tad more. Food and service needs improvement. Absolutely unacceptable. Took forever to get apps. Took forever to get drinks. It took an hour and half to get our food and one person at the table didn't even receive their dinner. We asked for a manager he (Alfredo) was the biggest asshole. Didn't care that one meal wasn't even brought out. Tried blaming waitress, told us they are short staffed and didn't have time to have conversation. Extremely rude all around. A very pleasant Italian eatery experience. I ate in at Jack's for lunch and it is clear this should be thought of as more than just a pizzeria. The seats are all really comfortable looking, the service was fast, attentive, and friendly. The menu isn't vast, so there's faith that the food is being cooked for real. Tried today were: A slice of regular cheese and Sicilian cheese pizzas, a meatball grinder, and seafood ortolana (from the specials menu). Sicilian cheese - thick crust that wasn't too heavy. Very airy and crunchy. The sauce is a little sweet, but the overall slice was really good, especially with some parmesan added on top. Regular cheese - thin crust, crunchy but still pliable. This one needed the parmesan because I felt it was pretty bland on its own. Meatball grinder - soft meatballs with mild seasoning, that sweet sauce, melted cheese, on a bread that was toasted but not overly flavorful. A solid grinder that is acceptable in every way but not blowing you away. Seafood ortolana - while this is a special, I can see that they know how to mostly cook seafood (the scallops cooked way too long and were tough as a result, but the shrimp and calamari were just right) and pasta. I like that the vegetables were cooked to where they still had a bite to them, no one wants soggy squash. There was a flavor tone that I was never able to pin down, I thought maybe propane? jarred minced garlic?, something with a sweet back end but sharp front end. In any case, it hovered on the edges of every bite, becoming inescapable and not overly pleasant. In general, this is a good restaurant, I'll be trying other food here in the future and can say that I'm confident you could have a nice meal here too. In terms of handicapped access, their main parking lot has one spot, but then steps to get in. A single parking spot with ramp access is available on the back side of the restaurant, looks to be where employee parking is as well. read more

We asked for the manager, and it took him forever to come over and he was less than helpful to say the least. He was actually quite rude to us and just walked away. We got a medium pizza, a calzone, gluten free pizza. We had ordered garlic knots. Which we had to go in to order as she forgot them. We sat outside on the patio as it was a nice day. I also got the coco special which is coconut tequila and pineapple juice. The Margarita pizza was dry, and the gluten free Fresca pizza was good while hot and fresh, then when cooled it was not as good. The calzone was great. Astonishing, what a find all the way up in Norwich. The place is super well put together. Everything is clean and sensible. The service I received was prompt and friendly. I called Slice customer service at 7:00 pm & they tell me that Jack's does their own delivery and they are busy---What?? It's a Friday so of course you're busy!! Jacks was always the go-to for great food and fast delivery. Something has gone wrong and they have gone downhill. I ORDERED TWICE THIS WEEK AND BOTH TIMES THE FOOD WAS WAY LATE AND COLD. She came back to the front after seating the party of three to tell me i could sit at the bar or at a booth and then took me to the area where there was no other patrons. It was dark there. She didn't offer to get me anything to drink and left me at the table. The waitress that took care of me, Tracy, was very nice and knowledgeable of a man in the drinks that were available. I'm glad I had her as a waitress vice the lady that greeted me at the door. While I was looking over the menu that same person walked by and said Shrimp Bisque soup and then said louder, did you hear me? I said today's special is shrimp bisque soup. I ignored her like she did me at the front door. Then the same woman she sat another couple behind me and asked them what they wanted to drink . There is so much on the menu, it is very hard to decide and it took me forever, it seemed, to choose something. I ended up choosing penne ala vodka with shrimp and mushrooms. Meals come with a salad or soup. She said the Bisque was really good and she recommended it. So i went with the bisque. The food was really delicious. Meat was seasoned and juicy. Garlic Knots were huge and the bisque was so flavorful. Recommend these items.! I ended up with three to go containers.... Thank you to my waitress for making my first time here a good experience. Definitely helped to make up for the rocky start. Ambiance is casual but romantic with the Italian music playing in the back ground. Old and young both patron this restaurant. Stopped in here with some friends and this place is a hidden gem! I def want to come back and try more of their pasta dishes. I went with a delightful drink, but be warned, their alcoholic beverages are a little strong so drink responsibly. Def a one and done delightful drink. We split some garlic knots that were perfectly garlicky and some calamari with their marinara sauce that was to die for. My side salad with the blue cheese dressing was legit, I swear they put antipasto on top because the red bell pepper was so fresh. For my entree I got chicken franchisee and it was beyond moist and lemony and made me so happy. Def stop by if you're in the area, they've got great patio seating. All the food was fantastic - pizza, caprese salad, and chicken fingers. We also ordered garlic knots as an appetizer, but they took so long to make we ended up canceling them. Apparently they were all out and had to make them with fresh dough, but Christina was apologetic and totally understood that we didn't want to wait. I'm not even sure how this "pizza" restaurant has 4 stars. First red flag: There were 2 half pies sitting in the display case & it's 4 hours before closing time. Second red flag: Those 2 Half pies had no color to the crust & the toppings looked stale. Last red flag: Quoted 10 mins for 3 pies to be ready!! 10 mins!! I'm like that can't be real. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, medium cheese pizza, and a gluten free margarita pizza. That oven must use hell fire. I've never been told 10 mins for even one pizza pie but 3... Sigh. Should have said no but gave them a.try... The crust was beyond your standard thin crust. No structure to the pizza & the cheese slid off the dough when you went to grab a slice. The dough barley had any color to it. The pepperroni had some flavor due to the pepperroni itself but same issue as the cheese. Also, the cook time was evident. The pepperroni didn't even cook well. It was an oily mess. The gluten free crust was good but the toppings were bad. The tomatoes were not plump red but a translucent red. Hardly any cheese or sauce. I'm guessing because this spot supports all the local teams is why everyone gives them good ratings. This is no where close to good pizza. I'd take my school cafeteria pizza over this "pizza." The dough didn't have character or flavor, the cheese was sparse and lacking flavor, and the sauce didn't even taste like tomato, it just had no flavor. Then I got the meatball sub. The meatballs tasted like frozen reheated and not made in-house, the sauce was like the pizza, bust bland. The bread was ok but a higher quality bread could up the game. Would I go again? I have been here before and always had a good experience. Last night was terrible. It was my guy's birthday and he wanted the chicken with artichokes and peppers. The waitress was not on her game at all. We sat at the bar. When the food was delivered my guy got exactly what he wanted but I received a meatball grinder instead of veal. This is our second visit to Jack's, and once again, our meals were so delicious. This visit we had our pup traveling with us. We saw that Jack's was pet friendly, and we really wanted to eat out. Unfortunately, their outside seating was closed for the season. However, after speaking to the bartender Erika about our wishes, she stated that if we wanted to eat out on the patio, she would be more than happy to set up a table and serve us outside. Went there about a week ago. Great brick over pizza at a reasonable price! My husband is somewhat of a food critic and very picky about pizza in general. He said their white base clam pizza was delicious. Perfect thin crust with that slightly char flavor on the crust around the pizza. We're staying in Norwich for 10 days so our Air BnB recommended this place. I had the siciliano pizza in NY so wanted to compare. Not impressed with the flavor, thicker bread than I expected. The pepperoni pizza was average from what my 19 year said. He really enjoyed the meatball grinder. It was super cheesy and flavorful. My 17 year old daughter ordered the Cajun shrimp Alfredo and I had my first taste and was hooked! I kept reaching over and getting bites in. It had enough of a kick with wonderful flavors. She saved half for later, got a to go box and forgot it at the restaurant . We were very sad. Since it's our first time in CT, we tried clam chowder for the first time and enjoyed it. read more

I've been visiting Jack's for years! They've always been extremely delicious. Their Covid safety standards are also great, with space between booths and other seating as well as plexiglass between the booths as well as an additional safety standard. Even though the pasta dishes come with garlic bread, I have to say the garlic knots are out of this world. They are soft and soaked in oil and garlic. They are a delicious side dish or starter! Not pictured was also the calamari that was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I personally ordered the cajun chicken and holy spice! It is extremely flavorful and quite tasty.
