Horrible pizza. Will never eat there again. Pizza taste like frozen pizza. Little ceasers is better and half the price.

Moved to Manteca from Pleasanton in late April. My wife and I have been waiting patiently for dine-in restaurants to open back up. About three weeks back we were out shopping when we saw an open sign in the window at Jacks, so we decided to give them a shot. Once inside, the first thing I noticed was that they were busy. It was a little past noon, and they had their buffet going. After a very short wait in line, the cashier (a very charismatic woman by the name of Hasina) greeted us. She didn't just rush us along, but thanked us for coming to her establishment. She then asked us a little about ourselves. Although it was just small talk, it made us feel like we were not just a number, but someone she was genuinely interested in. After exchanging a few pleasantries, we told her we were there to try the buffet, she then asked what kind of pizza do we prefer? After telling her I liked an all meat, and my wife said she likes a combination, Hasina said she would have her cook make those next and put them out in the buffet. I am in my mid fifties, and not once in my life had someone said they would make something special for me in a buffet. We thanked her and moved along so the next family could order. They have many flat screen TV's strategically situated throughout their facility. No matter where I chose to sit, I had a view of a few of them. We both went to the salad bar (which was plentiful and delicious) and loaded up on salad. While talking and finishing the last of my salad, I saw the cook add more pizza to the buffet. Hasina was true to her word, there now was an all meat and a combination sitting side by side. It was right out of the oven, and it was hot and fantastic. Toppings are toppings so everyone making pizza is equal when it comes to those. The crust and the sauce make the pizza. This was some of the best pizza I have ever had. I hate to admit, but I made five trips total to get pizza. Telling my wife each time that this was it, no more. But the pizza was that good, I couldn't stop. I was so full, I couldn't eat dinner that night. We went back four days later, and that was another first time in my life moment. I had never eaten at the same restaurant twice in a week. To sum it up, the place was clean, the place was fun, and the employees were fantastic. And price wise, our total meal to me was inexpensive. I have tipped waiters more than what this cost both of us to eat. If I could give Jacks 6 stars, I would have! read more

I usually don't eat pepperoni because I like just cheese pizza but my 15 year old granddaughter talked me into getting it. I was going to take the pepperoni off but I ate one piece and it was amazing so I left it on. The pepperoni cooks so much that they're like little cups and are so crispy. I've never seen pepperoni like that before. They use LOTS of cheese and it's NOT greasy like most others. It's the best pizza ever!!!! read more

I came to jacks because I got a coupon in the mail. I ordered one small pepperoni pizza and a half pitcher of craft beer. If I go anywhere where I haven't tried the pizza I'm always skeptical on how it will taste. They're pizza was legit and I plan on going back soon to try they're hot sandwiches and salad bar. Ordered Pizza and was told 15-20 minutes it would be ready. Arrived at 25 and waited another 30 for it to be ready. Customer service was not good as they did not even start making the pizza until I had been there for 15 minutes. Lastly a beverage on the house while I waited, would not have been out of the question! BTW, while I waited, my neighbor brought her pizza back as it was an all meat pizza that had no meat on it! read more

Who waits and backs charges SIX MONTHS worth of pizza. This place. WARNING! They will wait until they screw up their billing and bank accounts and then back charge you, in my case, SIX MONTHS!!! My family and I live in Tracy and we're looking for a great place to get some pizza came across this place Jack's cafe we have never been there before but it looked like a nice place inside and clean. When we got there we were even more pleasantly surprised we ordered and only had to wait like 20 mins. We ordered the combo pizza it was loaded with meat and veggies!! Then we got a pepperoni which was delicious too. When we originally ordered we asked for a half all meat/ half combo and when they brought it out it was just a full combination so we mentioned that to them and they apologized and came back with a full all meat extra large pizza for FREE we didn't expect that they exceeded our expectations staff was great food was great we will definitely be going back!!! read more

Tried this place for the first time today. Girl at the cashier was nice enough. We ordered pizza and insanity bread. The bread came first and as our server put the serving dish down more than half of the bread slid off the dish and onto the table. She clumsily tried to put it back on the dish by scraping a paper plate on the table and push the bread back on the dish, all the while she was apologizing and telling us she just wiped down that table. She mentioned she'll talk to her manager so we let it go. Our pizza came and apparently she expected us to use the paper plate she used to scrape the bread back on the dish. She went around doing other things and we didn't get an update on how her "talk" with the manager went. So I finally went to the counter and asked and she came with a frown on her face. I asked her what her manager said because I told her I can't eat the bread that fell on the table. She then said her manager wasn't in. She told me that's why she apologized and again told me she just wiped the table. I told her even if she just wiped down the table I can't eat it. She basically told me she can't do anything. No refund or new bread at least because they had no manager around. I've never been at a restaurant that had no manager. For one thing I'm pretty sure the rags they use to wipe down tables aren't very clean, second I would expect my food that I paid for not to touch anything other than a clean plate. The fact the she thought that was okay makes me think twice on how sanitary they are. Especially with their prices I expected more from them. We basically left a $10 bread there. The pizza was good enough but definitely not worth the $20 for a medium. There are plenty of other pizza places around that has better pizza and service. From what I read on here the management isn't any better so I wouldn't be going back to this place. It's pretty sad because we just wanted to try something new, and thought to try this place out. Tried to order a pizza for delivery tonight, and when I placed the order my total came to $19.24 I was told by the employee that there was a minimum $20.00 purchase for delivery. I tried to explain that I lived 0.2 miles from their location, but this did not matter and fell on deaf ears. I had 1 other bad experience with this place in the past, and 1 other good experience in the past with great food, so I gave it another shot. Truly disappointed that they refused delivery and now understand why this location has had 4 different restaurants in past years. Another failure of true customer service and recognition of future business and customer recovery. Almost every Restaurant offers pizza of some kind, but I will be sure to avoid yours. I don't know why everyone else on here doesn't take the time to write something nice about this place. We've been going here for years. Our dealership across the street always gets pizza from them and we are always happy. The pizza is GOOD and the staff is always EASY to work with. Not to mention their happy hour or lunch special is really good too. Good selection. Give them a chance! read more

Not sure which Jack's Pizza Cafe to put this under so I'll put it on both of them. I decided to take the kids to dinner and it was pizza night. Passed by the sign a few times and thought this would be great for a Wednesday night and better yet it's a buffet. Maybe we stopped in too early, which was around 5-ish pm, but there were like 2 pizza's out, which were mostly all gone. Had to wait about another 10 minutes or so. Decided to try the salad bar while I waited. Salad is salad in my opinion and there was nothing special about it. I had the Italian dressing on my salad and that was only thing that tasted odd. Maybe it was just a different brand of Italian dressing that I never had before so I didn't think anything much of it. It was edible. Finally after about 15-20 mins. they started cranking out the pizza's. Don't get me wrong, they do have good pizza here and that's what you want. Loaded combination pizza with all the good stuff. The pepperoni pizza was good also. Crust is nice and crisp. Pizza, refreshments, entertainment on the tv's. This is a good place to get those things and the price for 4 was decent for the buffet. Just don't come early for the dinner buffet or else you'll be waiting. read more

Yesterday, my friends and I wanted to have lunch after school, it being a minimum day. With there being a large group of us, we thought we could depend on Jack's Pizza, which I had gotten plenty of good comments from having good pizza, to feed us. We called to place our order, asking questions & ordering food. The woman on the phone did not know the answers to any of the questions we had and continuously got our order wrong. When we hung up, we had gotten our price and was told it was be 45 minutes. It was a little over an hour and our food was still yet to arrive. We called and they said 5 minutes. By the time we got our food, it was over an hour and a half. We were on the phone with the place, again, to tell them it was an hour and a half when the delivery arrived. We stayed on the phone as the delivery lady tried to argue with me when it came to our price. She told us a higher price than was told on the phone, so I was trying to figure it out. By this time, my friends and I are frustrated and confused. The woman kept arguing with me, telling me I'm wrong. We had gotten our food discounted and the food was delicious, but the overall service was terrible. Never going again. read more
