Came here the other night as a last minute plan. I am not a big casino person myself but I love the ambiance of the casino - the sound of the machines, the second hand smoke, and the bright glow of the slot machines. I miss the jangle of coins in the metal tray days and the little plastic cups everywhere to hold them. I played a few machines for fun but I prefer poker so made my way to the bar and played a few hands while having a drink. The lady bartender was nice, blond hair and glasses. She was attentive and friendly which I appreciate! Paul found me and ordered himself a burger which I tried a bit of. It was surprisingly good (Not sure what I was expecting TBH!) The patty was seasoned and a little crispy but not overcooked and the bun and fries were nice too. The tomato was not very fresh but again overall was better than I expected. Where to start? Came here on a Friday night and it was busy. We were hungry from the 3 hour drive and arrived to the casino with a party of six. Signed up on their waitlist, the wait wasn't too long (about 30-35 min) to get seated. The restaurant itself is small but the staff is very welcoming and nice. I got to try a few dishes and my ratings are as follows: -Calamari 4/10 (very fishy smell & weird taste) +Elote fingers 10/10 +Chicken nachos 10/10 (great shareable app) +The French dip 8/10 +Steak sandwich 8.5/10 +Halibut with veggies 9/10 -Shrimp scampi pasta 6/10 (sauce was bland) -Street steak tacos 5/10 (too many chewy fat pcs) -Steak Mexican Torta 5/10 (not good quality meat) +Carrot cake 9/10 -Cheesecake 5/10 There is definitely something for everyone here. I was surprised how good the food was from this small restaurant inside a the very small Colusa Casino. The service was excellent and the food all came out hot and fresh. The fries were crisp and delicious. The chicken sandwich had a coleslaw on it and was really good. The bacon burger was delicious too. The trioquesobirria tacos were fire. We've been coming to Jack's Place at Colusa Casino for years, and they have decent food. The service is not very consistent though, sometimes great and sometimes not good at all. During this recent visit we enjoyed our meals and experience..sadly, there are no other sit down restaurants to eat at this casino. I wish they would have replaced the buffet, steakhouse, and Branded Butcher with another restaurant instead of just changing the menu in Jack's Place. Hopefully that is in the future plans... Anyways, the new menu is "ok" - they took away customer favorites like the pot roast, but luckily added some good items like the Pork Osso Buco, which my father in law really enjoyed. I had the fish & chips and the fish was light and flakey, but the batter was a bit on the greasy side. They coleslaw was terrible, and the French fries were perfectly salted and crisp! My brother in law had the foot long chili dog...it looked unappetizing to me, but he likes it. The inside of this eatery is a typical bar/grill with a tables and half booths, and usually a game playing on the big TVs. They used to have like music on the little stage in there, I'm not sure if they still do. They keep the dining area clean. read more

The food looks and tastes like frozen dinners you get at the grocery store heated up. Could they not hire a proper chef? And don't get me started on the bar...if you buy an alcoholic drink you have to wait a full 20 minutes before you can order another one, and if you order a double you have to wait 40 minutes to get another one. Well, this is the only sit down restaurant in the Colusa casino. So plan ahead. It was short staffed. So, getting seated was a wait. I had the ribeye steak. Very fatty! And not worth the price. Hubs had the shrimp scampi, again greasy. We'll see what breakfast brings. Since it is the only restaurant, we'll get there early. It doesn't open til 8am. Late for seniors. Cold as needs to consider adding another restaurant or a buffet. read more

Gross disgusting food. 01/19/2023. We ordered a burger with fries, and a French dip with potato salad. Both sandwiches were flavorless, and disgusting. There was no au jus with the French dip. First of all our waitress was great, (I'm bad with names), but... Everything from the table to the salt and pepper were sticky with something. My girlfriend wanted a tall beer but the staff were to busy standing around to change it. Pretty much if it was in a keg they were, "out of it". Garlic chicken wings were okay. Got the fish and chips, asked for fries extra crispy, they were cold and soft, NO crisp at all. The batter on the fish was crunchy but the fish inside was like mush! Girlfriend got the nachos but what little cheese she could find wasn't melted. Like I said our waitress, (blonde, big smile and very polite) seemed to be the only one there that knew how to work and she took the fish off the check. She is the only reason for the 2 stars. We usually come here when at the casino, since it's pretty much free with the weekly rewards. The service is typically pretty slow and it's hard to get a refill and even hard to get checked out. The food is greasy bar food, and not the good kind. If I paid full price to eat here, I would give one star. read more

Came in for a bite....I'd been before on another trip to Sacramento area....as I entered I was asked if I wanted a table in the middle....I asked for a table closer to the TV so I could watch the game....the greeter didn't seem to like that too much...next the person took my order (Starts with an A)....no smile, seemed tired and lazy...I asked if he had tried the NY Strip and he had not....he had no recommendations when I asked....the NY Strip was good but the steak fries tasted like grease and the broccoli had a hint of garlic which I love but they were cold. I also had a Colusa Margarita which was very tasty. All in all I give it a three star rating.....with a little effort from the service it could have been a good experience but it was just average. Being so late at night it was hard to find a place to go out and eat dinner at, then I remembered that Jacks @ the Casino is open 24/7. Have to say we really enjoyed our meals. It's an "ok" place for casual dining in a minute casino, but the service was substandard. Our harried waitress for the evening was Amy P. We waited 30 minutes before she stopped by with menus; we had to request waters. There were no appetizers on the menu, so I shared a shrimp cocktail with my husband. My husband had the NY Steak sandwich; however, he had to ask her three times to bring a bottle of A1 Sauce. Our guest had the Spaghetti and Meatballs. I had the Fish and Chips, but had to wait 15 minutes for a to-go box - and it was only because our guest finally got me one from the bar! Another waitress finally brought our bill because Amy was nowhere to be found. Wow big improvement! The first time I came here they had an amazing blue cheese burger. Then they got rid of it and had minimal interesting things to order. Now they are focusing on the burgers. Which is great because they all seem incredible! They have also improved thier wait times. Last time it was so slow to get a table and food. This time much better. I'm giving this two stars instead of 1 because I'm a loyal visitor but lately it has been going downhill fast. Especially with the take home service. I ordered a pizza and wings only to find out the pager they gave me didn't work so my food was sitting getting cold for 15 minutes before I knew it had been ready. It is frustrating when you pay extra for sauce on a pickup order and it isnt even in the bag. No napkins, no sauce, forks, or any complimentary condiment packets. Everything was thrown in the bag so the vegetables off the burger fell onto the fries and made them soggy. Fries had no salt and were soggy. Burger was the worst I have had in awhile. This place has changed a bit since they don't offer the street tacos anymore which is what I wanted. I was told you could get them at the snack bar which wasn't open until 6 p.m. and that was hours away. The prices have increased quite a bit. The Philly cheese steak sandwich was okay but nothing to write home about and the pastrami sandwich was thick with meat but a bit too salty. French fries were so so. The service was decent and the food was okay but the prices were too high. This is the best restaurant in the casino because there are only two now. The only other restaurant is the buffet which was charging over 14 bucks for brunch which means that Food has likely been sitting out all day. THE BUFFET ALWAYS SUCKS . Jack's used to be the go-to place but now I would seriously consider eating before you get to this casino. You can always order a pizza from Jack's Place to go on the way out and hopefully they're still as good as they used to be although I noticed the prices went up. read more

Not even busy, it's 10:20 pm on a Monday night, Sept 25th, 2017. There's 3 tables already eating their food. No hostess at the front of the house and there are no waitresses to be seen. The shift manager happened to be standing around by the bar, and since it was a few minutes waiting at the front, I asked him if we seat ourselves or if there was a hostess. He was dismissive and said he didn't know. Didn't bother to check really, guess the bar and three other employees standing around were more important. That point another manager, bar or Jack's place manager, came out from the back. Since she just stood sleepily at the rear of the bar, I had to wave at her to get her attention. I asked what the soup of the day, she didn't know, had to leave again to find out, without asking if we wanted to be seated. She never returned, but as luck would have it, just like magic, a waitress appeared. We were finally sitting down and when a new waitress came to take our order, she had to leave the first time to find out what the soup of the day was, and when she came back, I had another question, and just like Houdini, disappeared before our very eyes, to check if the onion rings were bear battered. I'm not saying waitressing or being any type of manager is an easy job, but come on. And check out the picture, how the soup came out spilled all over the side of the bowl. It's not the first time at Colusa Casino that I have encountered apathetic employees. The slot techs are just as bad, but that's anither review. I have been coming to this Casino for 17 years. The customer service has steadily declined. Too bad because I really like the buffet, Jack's food is pretty good, the games, and valet is always friendly. The host was nice and sat us close to the TV like we requested.. Waitress was extremely nice as well that's why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2. My food was mediocre, I got the prime rib sand which and the meat was somewhat rubbery like it has been sitting out for a while or something. My fries were somewhat good, but there was a couple frozen fries in my pile as well. My parents liked their food so maybe it was just my dish but I wasn't amazed by the food at all. read more
