I have a sense this was a cool place back in its heyday, but that day has come and gone. The interior looks aged, the menu is weak, they don't have a cocktail list, they don't have a dessert menu. Came in with a party of 6. Some ordered espresso martinis. Of course, they were made with coffee, not espresso. Two people ordered cosmopolitans and wondered if there was any alcohol in them! One asked for an NA beer and all they had was O'Doul's!! The first course of salad was pretty gross. The lettuce looked old and it was drenched in some weird salad dressing. My honey had the salmon and said it was pretty good. I had the NY steak. The steak itself was pretty good, but I didn't know it was going to come smothered in some sauce. When I order a $63 steak, I tend to NOT want any sauce on it. The sauce was okay, but I would have preferred it came with sauce on the side. I've been coming here for holiday parties for years, and I've always considered Broadway Prime a solid rival to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. My husband and I decided to dine here for Valentine's Day weekend and although we didn't have any reservations, they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. The food is always solid. The salad is fresh and delicious. I love their garlic mash potatoes and creamed spinach. My family usually get the baked potato with the works. We also always get the prime rib in the largest size, English style so it's already cut up for us. We also ask for a side of horseradish to accompany the meal. Everything is delicious and usually we need a to-go box for leftovers. Usually the service is on point, but because this weekend was super busy, it took a while to get some items and at times we had to ask for it twice. We just left this place and I'm honestly very disappointed. My wife ordered the prime rib English cut, and I ordered the same. I clearly remember asking for English cut, but when my plate came out, it wasn't. I asked if they could fix it, and they told me they couldn't because it was already cut and served. My SIL brought a cake and they refrigerated it for us and served it at the end. 2 of girls shared a children's cut and my eldest had her own children's cut. Worth it for my eldest but not so much for my other 2. They weren't very interested in the prime rib but they did enjoy the mashed potatoes. I had the select cut with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. It was good and I still had some to bring home. I'm not a big fan of creamed spinach on a normal day but it was delicious here. Mashed potatoes are a family favorite and can never have too much of it. The beet salad was good. A bit heavy on the dressing but still finished my plate. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The Broadway Cut came with the meat cut CLEANLY off the bone, I felt a level of detail went into this. I was thinking about the getting the medium sized prime rib, but was delighted to get the large as it was a significantly thicker and bigger piece. Salad - They don't toss it in front of you like HOPR and I wish the greens were more chilled, but still solid. Potatoes - I always opt for the traditional mashed potatoes and they were solid! I tried my husband's garlic mashed potatoes and they were good too. It doesn't come with gravy though FYI. They have a limited menu specializing in prime rib and steak with a few options for sides. We arrived early in the evening and the restaurant wasn't even half full. Inside felt like an older San Francisco style. The server couldn't have been better. Very nice and friendly. We placed our order and got the house salad right away. It was good but had way too much dressing. It took quite a long time to get the main order of prime rib. 30 minutes or so. They brought mine and it took about 5-10 more minutes to get the second plate. The server was nice but there was something off in the kitchen and the timing. The sides were large portions but felt like they were overloaded with butter and cream. The baked potato was good. The prime rib wasn't the best cut, but mine was ok. My wife wanted it medium and the server said they put it in the oven for a few extra minutes that just didn't do it. It just took too long, the food wasn't as good as expected and not worth the cost. Decided to give this place a try for my sisters birthday since she wanted to go to a steakhouse. All of us order the prime rib either the Peninsula cut or Select Cut, garlic mashed potatoes, and either the cream corn or cream spinach. House salad: a tad too much dressing as there seemed to be a pool of dressing left over on the plate. Prime rib (Peninsula/Select) we all order medium rare although it appeared to be slightly on the rarer side. Auju sauce: dark and cloudy, could be more flavorful Garlic Mashed: mashed potatoes with two pieces of roasted garlic on top as a garnish.... Cream spinach: not creamy...seem like they had nutmeg?
