The portion was very generous, and it was cooked exactly rare as I requested. The quality and flavor were outstanding. The side dishes were delicious and complemented the steak so well (I chose creamy spinach and corn). What really stood out was the service -- the staff consistently checked on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and even offered extra sides, au jus and vanilla ice cream for my little one for dessert. Came in with a party of 6. Some ordered espresso martinis. Of course, they were made with coffee, not espresso. Two people ordered cosmopolitans and wondered if there was any alcohol in them! One asked for an NA beer and all they had was O'Doul's!! The first course of salad was pretty gross. The lettuce looked old and it was drenched in some weird salad dressing. My honey had the salmon and said it was pretty good. I had the NY steak. The steak itself was pretty good, but I didn't know it was going to come smothered in some sauce. When I order a $63 steak, I tend to NOT want any sauce on it. The sauce was okay, but I would have preferred it came with sauce on the side. The creamed spinach is, I am sure, not very good when it is hot. It is downright nasty when it is served cold. And the creamed corn? Meh. We just left this place and I'm honestly very disappointed. My wife ordered the prime rib English cut, and I ordered the same. I clearly remember asking for English cut, but when my plate came out, it wasn't. I asked if they could fix it, and they told me they couldn't because it was already cut and served. For a $100 meal, I expected better service and at least an attempt to make it right. This would never have happened at House of Prime Rib, and I'm surprised they didn't try harder to take care of the customer. I've been coming here for holiday parties for years, and I've always considered Broadway Prime a solid rival to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. The experiences were similar in a lot of ways, aside from the tableside salad presentation. Service has consistently been fantastic. The staff is attentive, quick, and always checks in at the right times. Pricing has also always been reasonable, so no complaints there. But the food... that's where things have changed. The quality isn't what it used to be. On my most recent visit in late December, I ordered the select cut and immediately noticed a difference. The meat was tough, difficult to cut, and required way too much chewing. It just wasn't the tender, flavorful prime rib I remembered from previous years. Made reservations here to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday and they had plenty of spots available! Just note you do need to call in to do so. When I say that you will leave stuffed, trust me. They start you off with some of the warmest, fresh bread with butter (we also requested refills). Next up, a pretty big serving of a refreshing salad. It also seems like the servers are more favorable and friendly to people that they know or see often. The menu doesn't have the size of the cut so you don't know how much meat you are getting. The quality of the prime rib was mehhhh. Not at all tender. I had to spot out a few pieces because it just wouldn't break down enough for me to swallow after chewing for quite some time. Worth it for my eldest but not so much for my other 2. They weren't very interested in the prime rib but they did enjoy the mashed potatoes. I had the select cut with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. It was good and I still had some to bring home. I'm not a big fan of creamed spinach on a normal day but it was delicious here. The overall ambiance of the restaurant didn't give high end steakhouse though and I wish their tables were a bit bigger for parties or 2. The Broadway Cut came with the meat cut CLEANLY off the bone, I felt a level of detail went into this. Oh and you don't need a reservation here even on Mother's Day All around it was a poor experience even for a normal Prime Rib dinner without a comparison to House of Prime Rib. Horrible!! If I could give 0 stars I would. My son Nick had a good meal, but my husband and I both had the New York Steak and leather is more tasty. I essentially paid $150 for shoe leather. They didn't even offer to give us any money off the bill. He did give us some Prime Rib to my hubby to take home so that was nice, overall the steaks were horrib.e. I completely see what Broadway Prime is going for - a hearty NY-style prime rib joint that isn't haughty and fills you up with tasty meat. And to their credit, they do get a lot of this right. The atmosphere is very NY-like, as well as the simplified menu that really focuses on the prime rib and NY steak set. The service was also friendly. And I was really forward to having a great meal on a late Sunday evening while it was raining outside. The issue is the food. First, because the salad is standard, they pre-make it in batches. And this makes the vegetable soggy. The prime rib is tender and juicy, but some how the au jus on our day was bland. The meat was great. But the entire dish had no attitude. I wish they had given it more flavor profile rather than relying on horse radish butter to add. The NY steak for more disappointing as the steak was tougher than expected. Sides were good such as mashed potatoes and cream corn though. At $61 for a prime rib dinner including salad, a large cut of meat, and 2 sides, I guess it is a fair deal. But given it is indeed a higher-end meal, one would expect something more flavorful. It absolutely is a hearty meal for sure. But would I repeat it for $61? That's where I hesitate. Broadway Prime is perhaps a decent date spot. Maybe a decent family eatery? A business meal location...? It's difficult cause I'm not sure if it gets any of it right because it doesn't blow your mind with the prime rib. The meal was good. I wanted SOOO BAD to like this place, I've been to house of prime rib so many times and wanted to give other places a try so my wife and I stopped by here. Reservations were super easy to get (I guess that should have been the first red flag). We were seated quickly but our server just seemed like he was in a bad mood from the start, truly not sure why. My wife got the medium size cut and I got the largest. My "large" cut was not that large at all and even though I got medium rare half of it was med and the other have was rare ... i mean i guess i literally got "medium rare" if you think of it that way.. but clearly not cooked well. The baked potato was tiny and creamed corn was not creamy at all, mashed potatoes tasted from a box and overall the meat was bland. I'm reading the other reviews here and apparently if you finished the large cut you get an extra slice for free, I wasn't even offered that. Overall a very unpleasant experience here, the yelp ratings are accurate to this place, do yourself a favor and stay away. read more
