I ordered the Chicken Hearty Bowl with lemon thyme sauce and it was really satisfying, flavorful, and felt like a nutritious meal that didn't sacrifice taste. The portion size was great and everything tasted fresh. It's surprising that something healthy can taste this good! I also got the green smoothie, which I'd rate 4/5. Ordered a mixed greens and chicken bowl. It was super delicious and incredibly healthy. It had a lot of vegetables salad, cucumbers, and chicken I had a wish there was a bit more chicken, but overall, it was incredibly delicious. You can either order on Uber eats or for pick up you can order any food site as well. There is no dining. You just go up to the counter. If you are doing pick up you usually get a code and your code will open up a little locker and your food will be waiting for you there. It was made super fast too. I believe from me putting in the order to be done. It was only about 12 minutes, which I think it's pretty quick. Overall, I had a great experience. I will definitely be ordering from here again. I've been looking for a place like this in Sacramento for years. I'm so glad that I found Ben's fast food. I ordered the chicken garden bowl and the green smoothie. 10000/10. It's so hard to find actual health food these days at restaurants that aren't full of hidden seed oils and refined sugars. The homemade dressing and the fact that they make their own coconut milk in house is just the cherry on top. I will be a frequent customer of this outstanding establishment. I tapped on the "healthy" tab of the DoorDash app at 9:45pm expecting nothing to be open. To my surprise, this restaurant continued taking orders. Ben's Fast Food is out here fulfilling a niche that most healthy eats would never bother taking on, and they're doing it well. Their nutritious ingredients and thoughtful recipes look incredibly appealing as a late night option. Their chicken mixed bowl has all the right stuff in it -- fiber, protein, complex carbs, and all the other healthy buzzwords. I enjoyed all of the ingredients, though the chicken tasted a little plain. Their dark chocolate cashew pudding is also quite the treat! I highly recommend it as a dessert. Ben's is the bomb! We ordered two meals each from there and are set for the next day. It's all whole food, meaning no processed food with healthy grains, like brown rice and millet, lightly steamed vegetables, and delicious meats. The other thing I like about it is that I have a couple friends who are celiac and dairy free and Benn is gluten and dairy free. There's also no refined sugar. I want to eat healthy like this and eat delicious food but I don't often have the time to prepare so I end up eating less healthy food at restaurants. I'll definitely be going to Ben's in the future. Do not sleep on this place!! *Ordered through DoorDash* Bowls: -They claim that everything is gluten, soy, dairy free and zero refined sugar! -Since I had ordered from DoorDash, I was a little confused with the structure until I went on their website and saw how it was broken down. -You get to choose how you want your bowl to be constructed with a base, choice of meat and signature sauce (can also order meats, veggies and sauces extra on the side as well) -All bowls comes with: "juicy slow roasted chicken, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, roasted sunflower seeds, pickled red onions, fresh cucumber, parsley garnish" -Everything blended together perfectly Choices of Bases: a) Hearty Bowl: base of millet & rice b) Garden Bowl: base of fresh spring mix c) Mixed Bowl: base of greens & grains Bowls that I tried: 1) Chicken mixed bowl 2) Shredded Pork mixed bowl 3) Wagyu mixed bowl -I went with the mixed bowl so I could get to try everything. The rice and veggies, were cooked to perfection. The veggies were chopped to tinny pieces (almost rice like), perfectly salted and still had a little crunch to it. -For the most part, all the meats I tried were juicy, though the chicken meat was more on the dry side compared to the pork and Wagyu (Wagyu being the most juicy). -Although the wagyu one was packed with flavor and very tasty, it was definitely different having wagyu shredded. I would prefer it as a normal steak strips. The wagyu is also almost double the price than the chicken and pork, but they did give a lot more in portion which I was glad since the pit fall of the chicken and pork was that they give less meat comparatively. -Regardless of the meat portion (wish they could have added just a little bit more), it was still decent in size where I had left overs since they packed it with the veggies and rice. Sides: CLEAN VEGETABLES -This is pretty much the veggies in the bowls, however, I got it as a side as well to feed to my kids. -Again, I love how it was chopped up into small pieces, which hid the fact the it was vegetable and the flavor was so good on its own that my kids couldn't tell it was veggies. -It also taste good when you add the sauces to it. SLOW ROASTED CHICKPEAS & POTATOES -melts in your mouth, I didn't expect it to be so flavorful! -it was just slightly on the saltier side than I would like, but it made chickpeas taste delicious Sauces I tried: LEMON THYME: lemony, herbal, zesty -Loved this sauce, probably my favorite of the 3 sauces I tried. I love snake river wagyu, I used to get their ground beef when I was in Orange County so when I saw that name, I just got to order it on DD. The beef was so tender and had that nutty deep flavor, so delicious and I got that with chipotle sauce but tonight I'm gonna order the same wagyu beef bowl with lemon thyme sauce. My husband and I ordered the slow roasted chicken, waygu, and pork shoulder bowls. They were really tasty and full of flavor. We couldn't stop eating them! Menu: They have 3 different options for bowls and many options for proteins and sauces. Personally, we think the thyme lime sauce is amazing. They have a green smoothie, which we did try. It's a great, fresh smoothy with banana, spinach, and pineapple. Didn't taste like it was pumped with sugar, which we loved. I hope they add more to the menu. I can see them adding an all green or cucumber lime smoothie. For dessert, they have a chocolate pudding. We did not try this, but it looks really good. Pickup: The order was ready by the time we arrived at the building. We parked in what looked like a back parking alley. There were a lot of cars and we entered a small door. We were surprised to find a food delivery pick-up locker and check-in/waiting area. Note: we tried checking in with our name, but you're actually supposed to use your order number. Ben's Fast Food has a great mission to provide healthy fast food and while it's a step in the right direction, the recipes need some improvement. We ordered the chicken mixed bowl, a wagyu beef mixed bowl, extra sauce on the side, and a side of potatoes with chickpeas. The wagyu beef (which was shredded) was stringy, dry, and flavorless. At a price point of $24 for the bowl, it was a real disappointment. The mixed chicken bowl with vegan chipotle ranch was pretty good. The chicken (also shredded) wasn't very flavorful but it was juicy and tender. The chipotle ranch was tasty but the amount provided covered less than half of the bowl. Definitely order an extra side of the chipotle sauce! The rice and veggies in both mixed bowls were good. The bowls are a large size portion of food. The chickpeas and potatoes seemed to have been cooked down in veggies broth and the chickpeas were a nice, soft texture, but the flavor wasn't very appetizing. It was overly salty and one-dimensional. Also, the pickup spot is a contactless locker situation shared by more than one restaurant, it seems. While it's a forward-thinking business model, it's in a very rough neighborhood (just off 16th) and I would only feel comfortable picking up food during the day time. read more

Ben's is super dope! Great, fast, and affordable healthy bowls that are delicious! We got the half n half bowl with greens and grains and doubled up on the melty pork shoulder. The chicken is tasty too, but the pork is my fave. If you're vegging out you can get the garbanzos and potatoes that are actually a really tasty option. The sauces make the bowls tho. Plant based chipotle, balsamic and lemon thyme are my go tos and the hot sauce is awesome too. If you want something quick that actually tastes good and isn't going to do too much damage to the wallet I'd definitely check this "fast food" out! We door dash Ben's regularly on weeknights now when we don't have time to cook, but want whole, healthy food and not expensive junk. So glad we have this as an option in Sacramento now. read more
