I love Jackys. Their Big Baby burger is on point. 2 meat pattties with cheese topped off with a perfect amount of grilled onion. You can't go wrong with that. The hot dogs were OKAY, the bread is soggy and the onions/tomatoes tasted old. The prices are super cheap so I guess I can't complain and they are open very late so it satisfies late night hunger. The Polish lady was kinda rude but that's okay. read more

Came here one night on accident with my girlfriend. The service was really nice and simple and we had a simple hotdog. It had been so amazing we thought it was us just being tired so we came back to try it again. Its a very small diner and relaxing in here and once again the food was just as good if not better. I rarely get to Chicago area without having a hotdog. Something about this area I guess. Better than NYCity dogs. Not sure how. Those are pretty good also! So, had not been to Jacky's apparently. OMG nothing has changed here in the past twenty years? This is a good thing. Jacky's is not health food. It is good ole Chicago style greasy spoon carryouts. Yum. Order at the counter, wait for your to go or grab one of the few stools at the counter. I recommend Big Baby everything. Orders are never written down and names are never taken and every order always comes out correctly. Plus it is super reasonable. read more

After reading a review by Susan H. I thought I would give Jacky's a try. Could not be happier, amazing food, and great service.. First off, for the past 25 years I had been going to Greektown Gyros. Didn't matter what part of the city I was living in, it was 24 hours, and I made that my go to spot. With the closing of Greektown, I went across the street to the "other" gyros place. And I really do not like it. Bam! Now I have a go to place Jacky's. They do high volume, and have fresh everything. My Big Baby burger always has a super fresh bun. Cooked to order how I like it. The hotdogs, are done to perfection, must try. And now the main reason I go there more than once a week.... The Gyros!!!! Sandwich if you are eating alone, or get the plate and feed two.. In going here over 50 times, not once have i had a bad one. Each time, I want to go again within a couple days. Mainly going at night after 8pm, and the staff I have grown to love, has always taken great care of me. Tonight, go there and trust me, get the Gyros! read more

Walking into Jacky's is like walking into a time warp. It has not changed in thirty years, including the owner, cooks, and the blond taking orders. She does not write ANYTHING down, and I have never seen her get an order wrong! Amazing! Anyway, all food is cooked fresh to order. Big babies with grilled onions, fresh fries, breaded mushrooms....the list goes on. My all time fave (seasonal, though) is their pepper and egg. Fresh cooked green bell peppers and eggs grilled in a little oil on that flat top and served on fresh baguette style bread-it's skinny little layers of omelette, so good. Always a great spot for a fast food experience from the 70's and 80's. The big baby is very good, fries are crispy add a tamale and you are in Southside heaven. This place is still has good as I remember it from the 70's when my uncle worked at Westinghouse on Pulaski. Prices are always fair and you get a good portion. I am always a Jackys fan. read more

Visited the restaurant and felt very uncomfortable. Employees are not enforcing covid safety regulations. They allowed more than the amount of people allowed in the restaurant, and allowing customers to enter without face masks. Secondly you are required to sign recipes yet don't offer sanitizer to disinfect hands from touch that nasty pen. Very disappointed, and disgusted! read more

I have been coming here for like ever, back in haighschool. ( I feel old now)!!!! It is delicious and great prices. Not a place really to sit and eat, even though they do have a couple chairs by the window. Doesn't matter though, food is delicious. I get the gyro platter. It is definitely enough to share or save for later. The big baby is delicious. Shakes are good. I prefer take out than sitting in there. So good! No complaints.
