This place is great. I have been here a handful of times & never a disappointment! It's been our "Girls Sunday Tradition" for weeks & we always enjoy ourselves. You definitely can't go wrong with their popcorn app, edamame app or their lobster mac n' cheese, DELISH! The wine selection on the HH menu is not the best, but you can always order from their hard wine list (which we always do) Bottles are reasonably priced (most) Outside seating is great, when inside seating is too loud w/ the live band. Sunday nights, there is always a live Acoustic Rock group. They are a great cover band, with a few good originals. Complimentary valet-plus TIP is always convenient! Unfortunately even though this place is open during covid they only allow 4 people per table and if your party is bigger then that they won't even let you split into two tables. We had a party of 7 that wanted to split into two tables and they turned us away at the door. They told us it was to prevent us from getting up and talking to each other at tables even though we told them we wouldn't be doing such thing. The hostess and manager were quite adamant and rude when we were simply wanting a gorgeous view to watch the sunset. I wish I could've had a better experience here! Maybe next time. read more

Absolutely love the location of this place! It has gorgeous sunset views and if you can afford to sit in the restaurant for dinner, I highly recommend it! We found this place on yelp and were drawn to it because of the views. After driving up to the resort, we realized we were in the valet parking area. If valet parking isn't for you, simply park in the lower lot for the spa and walk up to the bar. They have happy hour drink and shareable specials during the week and we were surprised to see that there weren't many people taking advantage of the sunset views which we didn't mind one bit. Although there isn't a dress code, and we were treated well, I did get the feeling that we were underdressed in our jeans and casual tops. Being a visitor from the west coast, it didn't cross my mind to dress up as everyone dresses casual where I live no matter the restaurant. Anyway, we ordered a few beers to watch the sunset while being warmed by the heaters outdoors. We were even offered happy hour food items even though it was a few minutes after happy hour. We went to Jade Bar for the first time this past Saturday. We wanted to listen to some live music and this was the perfect place. Comfy seating, gorgeous views. The band was great. Could have listened to them all night. The bar got really busy around 7-8. It cleared out around 9. We had gotten there just before 7, snagged a table, and it was perfect. Food was good. We have the tuna tartar, calamari, and a salad. Everything was expensive. $24 for the tuna appetizer. But it was delicious. We tried the prosecco and the fiery mandarin to start. The fiery mandarin was amazing!! We also ordered a bottle of wine. It was listed at $12 a glass. Then when we got the bill, it was $50 for the bottle. Math didn't add up- I thought a bottle had 4 glasses. So it would have been cheaper to get 4 glasses than the bottle. Oh well- service was really good and we were enjoying the night so we didn't say anything. Would definitely go back. read more

Boring. That's how I would describe my recent visit to Jade Bar. Three stars for the view but seriously? A generous two stars for the experience! I thought these guys were mixologists! Especially after seeing all the dropper topped bottles on the bar. And, at $14/drink I expected them to dazzle me and take pleasure in doing so. NOT the case. A whiskey girl, I was surprised not to see a single bourbon drink on the menu. But, I figured this what they were featuring. So, I started with the tequila bramble. It was ok. Since I really am a whiskey girl, I let our server know I wanted a bourbon drink. She asked the bartender for ideas and he came back with an old fashioned. When challenged, he came up with a manhattan. That's it?! So *I* suggested a bourbon bramble, since I had just had the tequila one. Boring. Lame. Horrible customer service! I would've given a zero if it was possible. I brought someone who was new to Arizona and spoke highly about Sanctuary and Jade Bar however, was utterly disappointed on this visit. We were ignored in the bar area by all servers who literally were serving guests in front of us and to the side of us . We were trying to make eye contact but was totally snubbed. One of the bus boys actually stopped and gave me a menu. We waited patiently for 15 minutes to get the attention of a server not only did they ignore us, we ordered at the bar and honestly we could have walked out without paying. I just want to thank all the folks at the sanctuary hotel including at the Jade bar. We have been going there pretty regularly for a three years since we bought a home on camelback in paradise valley. We were there a couple of weeks ago with some of our guests for another $500 dinner on the bar deck. The food was great, drinks awesome. The best part however were the rude and impolite manager and team, who absolutely refused to turn down the super loud music on the deck. Even our wait staff said it was too loud and turned it down but someone turned it back up. And then came by the table to tell me. So thanks! No longer spending that money on rude people. Check out way better and nicer and cheaper places; Lons at Hermosa inn; sushiholic; fat ox; Chelsea's kitchen. All way better! So thanks to the Sanctuary! read more

This bar is very swanky and NYC in style, it really made me miss home. It has a pretty small interior bar area that never got too crowded on a Friday night and what looked like a spacious outdoor patio area. The service wasn't the best and the drink I chose wasnt the best either but I'm willing to overlook these problems given how much I enjoyed just being there. I have one gripe. What is with the stupid TV playing ESPN? It pretty much guarantees any man with even just a fleeting interest in sports is going to stare straight at the stupid tv and not at me. It took a long time to get my hair and makeup to look this way and I would rather he look at me and not at the game taped earlier in the damn day. Bars, especially high end martini bars like this need to be bold and leave the TVs out of the equation. End rant. I would definitely come back. read more

Great drinks, beautiful location, but a giant fail on service. My husband and I were asked to give our credit card before placing an order. We were told it was a new policy, yet over the two hours we spent watching, we saw no one else being asked to do this. Just us. Could it have had anything to do with us being the only people of color in the entire place? We're not going back to find out. We called the manager later that evening to voice our displeasure. He told us that Sanctuary had no such policy, and promised to investigate and call us back "shortly." Two days later and we have yet to receive that call. Bottom line: stay away unless you fancy being treated like a second-class citizen. read more

3rd update here. This place is still fantastic and still one of the poshest happy hours in the Phoenix area. They have reduced their HH menu a little bit and some of the better cocktails aren't included but you can't beat $5-$6 for inventive drinks and the food items are always very generous for the money. One thing that I wanted to tell my fellow Yelpers: they are going to be closing for the summer for renovations. They will be expanding the Jade space, including the outdoor patio. It will be hard to live without Jade Bar for the summer but I have a feeling the redo will be well worth the wait - and will perhaps warrant a fourth update. read more

This was the first time Yelp failed me in my search for an impressive place to go to. I guess I was blinded by the 4/5 stars and should've looked more closely at the reviewers. Stopped here on a Friday night for a late night cocktail. Jade Bar was a bit too small, not very intimate since everyone kept elbow rubbing and bumping into you but the drinks came fast. After a few good cocktails (albeit none too noteworthy) I started chatting up the server about drink things, which he pleasantly confessed were not his specialty. He got the bartender over to our table, and we started talking about NoLa and the like. Because it was a slow evening, he said he'd give a Ramos Gin Fizz "the old college try" for me. He actually made me one the right way, and it tasted like nothing I've ever had before or since. Some background on why this is dope: Henry C. Ramos invented the Ramos gin fizz in 1888 at his bar, the Imperial Cabinet Saloon on Gravier Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. It was originally called the New Orleans Fizz, and is one of the city's most famous cocktails. Before Prohibition, the drink's popularity and exceptionally long 12-minute mixing time[5] had over 20 bartenders working at the Imperial at once making nothing but the Ramos Gin Fizz - and still struggling to keep up with demand. During the carnival of 1915, 32 staff were on at once, just to shake the drink. For funky, creative craft cocktails? Perhaps a more urban venue. I have been going to Sanctuary and Jade bar for over 10 years now. Ironically, I preferred their bar prior to the remodel. Maybe it has to do something with the fact that I'm not a huge fan of change when it comes to things that are of comfort and feel like home to me. The remodel setting now is bigger, yes; however it's not as intimate. Their drinks and food are still on point. One negative is that they no longer give you a little dish of their wasabi peas for free to snack on. I asked for some the last time I was here and when I got my bill, I noticed that there was a $4 charge for just 1 small ramekin of them! That's pretty absurd to me. On a side note, Beau McMillan is an amazing chef. Being an Iron Chef champion, his dishes never fail to please. By far the best cocktail to order here is their cantaloupe martini!! It's also the perfect locale, nestled at the base of mount Camelback, with a view that will get you in the mood to try new things. Being master mixologists, the bartenders know how to get the juices flowing with just the right amount of bite. They really know how to work their cocktails. Tell them what you've tried in the past, and what you liked and what you didn't like, and their experience gives them the ability to create that unique, euphoric taste you've been aching for. They'll convince you to try things you've never been open to try before, and these new flavors will knock your panties off. Oddly enough, they'll will be able to concoct a cocktail you will LOVE, even if it contains something that you don't normally drink. One of the bartenders looked at me and fingered me as a gin gal, even though I've never been a big gin fan. He made me a champagne cocktail spiked with gin. Sounds terrible, yes? WRONG. It was delicious, and I went back for more. And more. And more. One of the best bars in AZ, Jade is a jewel in the rough, as there aren't very many bars that offer the experience as Jade. Service can be a bit slow, but its a small bar. A great place for a date, or a few friends. The bar and attached patio is small, so on busy nights you may have to stand. Beautiful! Whenever I come here I feel like I am in Sedona, but with a little more glitz. The whole Sanctuary property is gorgeous and the Jade bar is no exception. It's a bit small, but cozy. The outdoor patio is great in the fall. I'm not much of a martini person but the ones I tried here were pretty good. They do make a mean dirty martini. The Jade Bar is must do in Phoenix. We have now been here twice and I am in love with their happy hour. Its so reasonably priced and the food is to die for...I mean seriously, you're getting the same quality as the main restaurant. We had the fries which are my favorite, the edimame which is delish, the black bean hummus (didn't have any left to share) and the spiced nuts. This is one of the best hidden destination spots in the Valley. Located in Elements restaurant at Sanctuary Resort it offers nice views of Paradise Valley and Mummy Mountain. Jade Bar is like flying first class! This lounge probably has the best view in Scottsdale. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to see the beautiful mountains, and desert landscape. The atmosphere is classy, and usually has a 30-40's+ crowd. I would recommend this place if you're trying to impress your date, or a business client. The drinks are top-notch! I had the best mojito of my life here. The appetizers are really good as well. I would grade both the food and drinks A+. The place is located inside Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort, which is a little hidden if you don't know where you're going. Super swank in the such the southwest style, great decor and great sights to see. The best was cocktail list, and the feeling that so long as you're there, indulge. So I got the $29 Petron Platinum martini, because, well I've been meaning to give the platinum a try, and why not have a glass of it, chill, served up. Jade Bar has been a launching pad for several nights out, including a couple of New Year's Eves and at least one anniversary celebration. The view always breathtaking, regardless of the time of day or the weather. On this particular visit, I wondered if the inclement weather would diminish the experience. That concern was quickly dispelled, as even on a somewhat rainy, cloud-covered evening, this panoramic perch atop PV didn't disappoint. The service was top notch, as always. The drinks came out quickly and, while we had dinner reservations in the main restaurant, there was no rush to move us along to our table. One other note I will make about Jade Bar is the hospitality of the patrons. Perhaps it's the resort atmosphere of the bar, or the stunning views that put visitors in a good mood, but we have rarely visited Jade Bar without striking up a conversation with some stranger sitting nearby. Whether seated at the bar or outside on the patio, the vibe is always friendly and open. Jade Bar is a true gem in the Valley. You pay for the views here and they are gorgeous, sure. But honestly the prices here are a bit much. I just had a $12 glass of wine. Happy Hour is great. You have a small selection of signature drinks, beer, and wine for $6. The same can be said for small plates. $6 is great. However the guac/salsa ordered tonight by a friend featured stale chips. Really stale. Happy Hour only lasts until 6. So basically if you want to see the sunset from this vantage point, bring your cash because it'll cost ya. Once HH ends, the prices double and triple. Extraordinary views at this beautiful Sanctuary resort and spa. The bar was elegant yet relaxed. The complimentary wasabi peanuts were delish and my Chardonnay very nice. My favorite bar in Scottsdale! We went to a summer bartenders competition and it was a great night out with a good crowd, Barbados rum special drinks, commercial music dj and excellent service! Love their dessert the one with marshmallows., usually it's impossible to please me and I was in heaven. It was perfect! Thinking to move to Scottsdale now because of your dessert! Updating my review. We've been coming to Jade Bar consistently 1-2 times per week for the last 6 months and it's simply our favorite. I originally disliked the crowd and the fact that Jade Bar "tried to" act like it was cooler than it was. But have you ever met someone who you initially think is trying to act more interesting than they really are, but then after knowing them a while longer you realize they are actually just that interesting? That's Jade Bar in a nutshell. If I can recommend anything, it's to sit at the bar as often as possible and snag Michael as your bartender. He knows his stuff and is simply a cool guy to talk to. Eddie is the Bar manager and knows his sh*t. I highly suggest attending one (or more) of their Saturday mixology classes. If you love cocktails you'll learn a ton, and get pretty tipsy for a good price. They also let you make your own drinks, unlike a lot of other mixology classes. I would not normally be hanging out at this bar, but another event led me to check out the bar with a mountain view. Once Happy Hour ends (4-7pm) be prepared to pay triple the normal drink prices. They only had three beers on special at HH for $3 and none were really impressive: two pilsners and an IPA. I think glasses of wine were about 6 bucks and they had $1 wings (minimum 6) on this day. The bar is inside and outside and I spent most of the two hours outside. The famous sunset view can be seen from a lower deck, but it appears to be behind the mountain and nothing was seen on this night. Waitress was pretty cool, named Ashley, and the rest of the guests were your typical crowd willing to pay $319 a night to sleep there. No reason to return, unless I'm craving that $16 burger I saw on the dinner menu...ha! read more

I love forgetting about and visiting Jade Bar every chance I get! It's truly an unforgettable place, but I feel like it's such a special place, it should stay in my back pocket until I have a special reason to visit. This time, they were actually under construction and we were able to see the great mountain views from a new window. I also love how I couldn't t tell they were under construction until I asked why Jade Bar was moved. I'm really looking forward to seeing the expanded space once it's completed! There was live music on Saturday night and the drinks were as wonderful as I remembered them to be. I would go so far as to say their drinks are the best in the valley. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was due to the Lobster Pork Dumplings. The appetizer came out surprisingly fast, so that was a positive; however, the kitchen left much of the flavor on the plate to the sauce instead of combining them into the meats in the pockets of dough. I also had a couple of chewy pieces of lobster as well, and that's definitely not what I expect when paying $15 for 4 dumplings.
