Located at the Fairmont Princess this is the bar near the front entrance with lots of outdoor seating. We sat at the bar to grab a couple drinks and some snacks. Drinks were fantastic, so we'll made. The Ahi Tuna was also delicious. Being able to sit outside was wonderful. We've also visited during the holiday lights and this is a great place to enjoy those as well. read more

Great outdoor bar good for families early and plenty of room to sit and eat. The menu was solid and we enjoyed the hummus and the Agnolotti pasta while the kids loved their Mac and cheese. Also they have Heineken 0.0 which for the non drinker was a nice surprise. Service was great and would definitely come back. read more

This restaurant has a cute & casual atmosphere and it is located inside the Scottsdale Princess resort. I enjoy coming here during memorial and 4th of July holiday, sometimes X-mas. Although it gets busy it is still beautiful and service is pretty efficient too. I also like that in the evening sometimes they have live music and the firebowls in each table makes for a lovely evening experience. The food is like a higher end bar food, it is good, just right. I honestly come here more for the ambiance and sports bar type of feel. read more

One of the only options at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess just to sit, have a light bite, and a drink. The Plaza Bar is right outside behind the lobby with lots of seating both around the bar and around fire pits and high tops. Friendly servers will come around and grab your order if you're not at the bar. The drink menu is quite fun with names of libations essentially all play on words some to pop culture or literature references, such tequila mockingbird, this ish is bananas, back to back, just to name a few. Drinks come at a steep price of around $17 each. There are also a few shareable food options and I enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip. For drinks, the refreshing if it's mint to be (gin, cucumber, mint) was really good in the 100 degree heat. The misters spraying constantly offered a bit of comfort. The music can be quite loud so not great if you're trying to have a conversation. read more

Enjoyed this great outdoor bar. Lots of seating all around, with space heaters, lounge chairs/benches and fire tables. The location is very cool, with the feel of being in the center of the hotel. In December, there were Christmas lights all around us for the holiday family traffic they entertain. Servers are cheerful and friendly. The cocktail menu included several interesting holiday drinks in addition to the usual offerings. The St. Swizzle was really good and came in a commemorative ornament shaped (plastic) glass. Super cute and fun for the holidays but severely overpriced. I would not recommend the Hot Buttered Rum (especially on a cold evening) however. There is so much real butter in the drink that it solidifies if you don't drink it quickly. The first few sips are delicious but the richness takes a toll on your stomach when you hit the halfway mark so I literally felt sick when I returned to our room. On a second night, we wanted to grab a drink before heading up to our room after returning from dinner offsite. Unfortunately, the bar closes at 10, which seems early for a bustling hotel like this one. read more

Plaza bar is a real cool bar at princess. We chilled outside in a cold AZ December night. There were fire pits. You can turn up the fire pits if you are cold. The drink menu is creative. They ran out of the hot drinks which would have been perfect on a cool night. The PSL was very good. read more

Was super disappointed in this place. First, we were seated with one menu for a party of 8 to share, and after we decided finally what we wanted to order the waitress told us she gave us the wrong menu so had to Give us a different one that once again they only had 1 menu to share. It took 45 minute for the waitress to bring us water and it was also after we already got our food. She also brought half the food out first which half the people finished and then had to wait for the rest of us to get our food and then eat. Was super disappointed in the quality of food also definitely not worth the price read more

The food was sub- par, nothing special. Very few menu items, none of which I recommend. The portion sizes are all wrong. Far too small and a total waste of money. The service was not the best, but not horrible. I would highly recommend going somewhere else in the resort. The lighting does not match the very loud music. I could barely hear my own thoughts. I've only had snacks and drinks from here but this is a great place to hang out. From my experiences it hasn't been too crowded and also I've had great service. The chocolate cake is probably the best I've ever had haha. Also last night we had two free cocktail tickets, the lady told us it was only for well drinks, beer, and wine. My boyfriend was really in the mood for a Moscow mule but the cards didn't cover that, but our waitress was so accommodating. First time there. It's summer, over 110 degrees. Only outside bar is open. Inside only for private parties and events apparently. Walked up, last patrons' dishes not picked up yet. There were only 2 other customers at bar, but a few bartenders there. What were they doing ?? Waited for menus, drinks came at $16 each. My friend couldn't drink her cosmo, too sour. Bartender was unfriendly to say the least. Cancelled food order, too freaking hot, misters not strong enough. Weird, snotty, unfriendly atmosphere. Left and went elsewhere. No thanks. read more

The plaza bar is a hidden gem located within the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale. When you arrive at the resort you just leave your car with the friendly valet staff (they validate) and walk a short 50 yards to this outside night spot. It's bar is raised and littered with televisions for the sports fan. Personally, I love to sit in one of there lounge areas that are lined with fire tables to keep warm and soften the mood. Making this spot ideal during the 7 months where nights are cool in Arizona. They have a nice selection of signature cocktails, but if you prefer traditional there is all of that too. Personally, I dig there cucumber cooler with vodka. They also serve appetizers and a smaller menu later in the evenings. Everything has been tasty that I have tried to this point. My last two visits have been blessed as I have had Lauren as a server both times. She's a lovely young woman with an amazing personality and she's so friendly and personable. I was here last week with a female friend and she had us cracking up all night. A true asset to the bar. The Plaza Bar is great for a date, drinks with friends, or to watch a game. read more

Beautiful outdoor bar with comfortable sofas and great fountains and lighting. We stopped for drinks and apps on a Saturday evening with temps in the 80's. The drinks and apps were very tasty but the food was on the skimpy side. The service was slow, not very friendly, and not as attentive as we have seen in the past. read more

Well... firstly, don't eat the Quinoa Burger. If that's all you get from this review it's good advice. It's like eating a bag of sand. I realize it's a bar and not a full service restaurant. I understood that clearly when the waitress told me about seven times while I tried to order food from the 'food menu'. I assuming she just wanted us to pound drinks without any food at all. We ordered a couple of burgers, some appetizers and some wine. The night was beautiful and the little fire table seemed like a great spot to hang out. In short, the regular burger, deviled eggs, Cobb salad and chips & salsa we really good. The chicken wraps and quinoa burger were less than desirable. Problem also was that the waitress didn't send out the apps first, so we waited a long time and when the food finally came it was a cluster mess on the little table. We had to eat everything hot first so it threw off the meal a bit. Waitress was quick with the wine refills, so that helped. Upon valet parking they said if I had my ticket validated I could avoid the $40 (wow) valet charge. At the end of my meal it took longer to get the ticket back from the waitress than it did to eat dinner. The princess is a great resort. We come there often. Last time we were at this bar, the food was overall really good but the waitress vanished with our credit card. I mean, really vanished, we had to cancel it and everything because no one could find her that night and the next day either. Lol. Second shot for this place, I will try the other restaurants here on my next visit. It's a shame though, it's a beautiful patio. read more

During the WM Open, this is a bar for the younger crowd with very loud music, plastic cups and spotty service with expensive drinks. Beer is the better option for value and price. My mixed drink ($15) had so much ice in it, my first small sip drained about 25% of my drink. It did get replaced and they did a great job of ensuring my husband's credit card got returned after we left it. We enjoy the bar when it is more low key and you can sit around the outside bar and their is no DJ. read more

The couches were cozy and perfect for just snuggling in for an evening of relaxation. Could have spent the evening there if we didn't have prior commitments. Met some friends here for drinks on a Monday night after work and when we got there we were the only two that were in the bar at that time besides the bartender, she gave us one menu to look over and we settled on two drinks. I had one from the menu and my boyfriend had a simple vodka/tonic. Our friends arrived shortly after our drinks at the bartender did not come over to give them a menu so I gave them ours to look over. About 10 minutes later the bartender finally came over after we said, "Can they get a drink?" Meanwhile there still was no one else in the bar and the bar isn't that huge. She made the two drinks our friends ordered. We sat and visited and wanted another round. The female bartender would look right at us and not even come over. There were now a few other people that had been at the pool for the day that were up getting drinks which was fine but when she wasn't helping them she would just look in our direction and see our empty glasses but not come over. Now at this point a new male bartender was at the bar and service from him was the same way....he kept looking but wouldn't come over. At one point again we said, "Can we order a drink?" It was just odd that we had to keep asking for the bartender to get a drink and again the bar had less than 10 people in it. With other options in that location I don't think I'll be back anytime soon which is a shame as it is a cool looking little bar. read more

We're locals trying to check out new places. The vallet was $55 unless you spent $75. No problem. The drinks were bad, service was bad. At $15 a drink I expect an excellent cocktail. Am I wrong? They weren't good. It was like drinking juice. I don't think the bartender had ever made a drink before. She had to look up every recipe. No love was put in to her creations. She had a hard time taking orders and listening. She never refilled our waters. We reached across the bar to do so ourselves. We ordered oysters and it came with a small bottle of Tabasco. Not any of the Wasabi, etc, as the menu description proclaimed. We had to wait a long time to even receive our check. She made an error and had a third round of our drinks made and said they would be complimentary. We refused because we didn't want anymore iced syrup. Another bartender ended up making the drinks and they were much better than the two she had made for us. The bad review isn't about the money we had to spend. Not at all. The place was very nice. Poor, expensive drinks and terrible service landed you guys this one. Your other patrons nearby also complained of the service and weak drinks. Consider hiring staff with experience, especially if you're charging $15 for not even a full martini glass of watered down juice. If this woman was a new hire, perhaps have her memorize and make the drinks before serving them to your patrons. We could tell her coworkers were also very frustrated with her. Just so I'm not totally nagging on the server, I'm sure she was trying. She was overwhelmed. I actually felt bad for her. Perhaps offer more training before throwing her into a busy Friday night during the holiday season. read more
