    Plaza bar

This restaurant has a cute & casual atmosphere and it is located inside the Scottsdale Princess resort. I enjoy coming here during memorial and 4th of July holiday, sometimes X-mas. Although it gets busy it is still beautiful and service is pretty efficient too. I also like that in the evening sometimes they have live music and the firebowls in each table makes for a lovely evening experience. The food is like a higher end bar food, it is good, just right. I honestly come here more for the ambiance and sports bar type of feel.

One of the only options at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess just to sit, have a light bite, and a drink. The Plaza Bar is right outside behind the lobby with lots of seating both around the bar and around fire pits and high tops. Friendly servers will come around and grab your order if you're not at the bar. The drink menu is quite fun with names of libations essentially all play on words some to pop culture or literature references, such tequila mockingbird, this ish is bananas, back to back, just to name a few. Drinks come at a steep price of around $17 each. There are also a few shareable food options and I enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip. For drinks, the refreshing if it's mint to be (gin, cucumber, mint) was really good in the 100 degree heat. The misters spraying constantly offered a bit of comfort. The music can be quite loud so not great if you're trying to have a conversation.

Enjoyed this great outdoor bar. Lots of seating all around, with space heaters, lounge chairs/benches and fire tables. The location is very cool, with the feel of being in the center of the hotel. In December, there were Christmas lights all around us for the holiday family traffic they entertain. Servers are cheerful and friendly. The cocktail menu included several interesting holiday drinks in addition to the usual offerings. The St. Swizzle was really good and came in a commemorative ornament shaped (plastic) glass. Super cute and fun for the holidays but severely overpriced. I would not recommend the Hot Buttered Rum (especially on a cold evening) however. There is so much real butter in the drink that it solidifies if you don't drink it quickly. The first few sips are delicious but the richness takes a toll on your stomach when you hit the halfway mark so I literally felt sick when I returned to our room. On a second night, we wanted to grab a drink before heading up to our room after returning from dinner offsite. Unfortunately, the bar closes at 10, which seems early for a bustling hotel like this one.

Very good bar food, perfect for pool side shareables. Service was just right and the resort is beautiful.

Indoor and outdoor seating. High tip tables and couches. Opens at 3. Interesting drinks, limited menu Had the chicken wings which were ok. Came with carrots and celery. Drinks were basic, grapefruit mojito had some mint and lots of ice. Beer menu is old And a number of choices on the menu not available (no lagers). For a fancy resort, this place is right at the center. Busy and buzzing. Best part of hanging out here is that everyone in the hotel will walk by at one time or another.

Wonderful experience tonight! Awesome bartenders! Delicious salad and chicken legs. Strong drinks and sexy vibe, in spite of the repetitive Christmas music. Lol. Cute guy across the bar. Lol.

I've only had snacks and drinks from here but this is a great place to hang out. From my experiences it hasn't been too crowded and also I've had great service. The chocolate cake is probably the best I've ever had haha. Also last night we had two free cocktail tickets, the lady told us it was only for well drinks, beer, and wine. My boyfriend was really in the mood for a Moscow mule but the cards didn't cover that, but our waitress was so accommodating. Gave us ginger beer and vodka and also gave us lime so we could kinda make our own mules haha, she was so sweet! Beautiful place to sit on a nice night too.

"Plaza Bar" makes a Grand Entrance nestled in the "Fairmont Hotel" exceptional outdoor drinking and eating space. The center bar settled on water illuminated by blue lights and river stones. Fire pits and lounge seating forms a border around the bar. The Jalapeno margarita savory and surprising heat that plays off the cocktails tart flavors. Crab cakes not bad, service was splendid. Crowd was happy to be somewhere warm taking in miles of majestic views of the gorgeous Desert and panoramic vistas and Mountains. Happy Girl Settled at the bar here.

    Cheers!

I haven't had a drink I haven't liked, you can't go wrong with any of them. The 50 first dates has become my favorite, however. For food, the milk bread is a delicious starter. The chicken tenders are also amazing. Can't wait to go back!

Based on how this place is described and marketed, we were expecting an intimate, vintage-feeling evening where we could sit down, have a cocktail, listen to jazz, and enjoy the atmosphere. That was not our experience. There were definitely things we liked. The location was great, the overall theme and decor were beautiful, the lighting created a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was also very good. However, the entertainment was a huge miss and completely took us out of the experience. We walked in and the band was performing "Genie in a Bottle," followed by other current/recent pop songs, Backstreet Boys songs, and "Creep." The singer was repeatedly screaming into the microphone and encouraging everyone to scream and make noise. At one point, while sitting in what is supposed to be a speakeasy, we were literally listening to him sing "creep" which is one of the most depressing songs of all time. It felt much more like being at a loud dive bar or country bar than an intimate 1920s inspired speakeasy. My biggest issue is that the entertainment did not match the experience being advertised. You can decorate a room beautifully and make it look like the 1920s, but when the soundtrack is "Genie in a Bottle," "Creep," and Backstreet Boys songs being loudly belted into a microphone, the illusion disappears pretty quickly. The noise level also made it difficult to simply sit, have a drink, talk, and enjoy the space. We specifically chose this place because we wanted that relaxed jazz/speakeasy experience, and that simply wasn't what we got. The cocktail selection was another disappointment. For a speakeasy-style bar, I expected a stronger selection of specialty bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The prices also felt excessive for the overall experience. On top of the already-high prices, we paid a $20 entertainment cover ($10 per person) specifically for the band. I wouldn't have minded paying a cover for quality live entertainment that fit the advertised atmosphere, but the artist was not particularly impressive and, more importantly, the music didn't fit the theme at all. There is a lot of potential here. The space itself is beautiful, the service was good, and they nailed many of the visual details. Unfortunately, the entertainment is such a major part of a speakeasy experience that it overshadowed everything else for us. If you're specifically looking for jazz, flapper-era music, and an authentic-feeling 1920s speakeasy atmosphere, I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

We both ordered the Duck Fried Rice - me because it's what everyone told me I needed to do and he ordered it because he's had it several times and loves it. And I love it too now after my first taste. Of note, the portion size isn't huge. I was honestly hungry later in the evening, but otherwise it was the perfect dish. The restaurant is small, and in a strip mall with a tiny sign that is easy to miss. It's nice inside, and I wasn't crowded but there aren't many tables. A bit expensive for the portion size, but it was fantastic and worth it. Highly recommend.
