Napa has an amazing collection of restaurants downtown, but we wanted something more local and less touristy. We came across this small Thai restaurant, and I thought the food was good. I was craving pumpkin, so this definitely hit the spot. The ambiance is simple--nothing fancy--but the food came out quickly and was tasty.

"A Cozy Thai Hug in a Bowl (With the Best Veggie Rolls Ever)" Stopped by Siam Thai House when I needed a little comfort food pick-me-up, and it absolutely delivered the cozy, flavorful vibes I was hoping for. Let's start with the vegetarian rolls.... hands down the best I've had anywhere. They have this unexpected twist of noodles and veggies inside that makes them light yet satisfying, and the dipping sauce had just the right kick to tie it all together. I could have easily made a meal out of those alone! For my main course, I ordered the Simple noodle soup, and it was exactly what my soul needed, warm, flavorful, and deliciously comforting. Every spoonful felt like a hug from the inside out. It contained rice noodles, bean sprouts, and broccoli topped with green onion and roasted garlic; optional meat addition too! Now, for the one hiccup that brought it down to four stars: the sticky rice arrived as one very solid, inedible block. I tried to chip away at it but eventually admitted defeat. Thankfully, everything else was so good that it didn't dampen the experience too much. I couldn't help eyeing the dishes around me-Pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai soup, and Pad See Ew all looked incredible. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu next time. Verdict: A warm, welcoming spot that hits all the right notes for flavor, comfort, and authenticity. Just maybe a little less "sticky" on the rice next time!

Coconut Tom Kha Soup Pad Thai Fried calamari Mixed feedback on the food. The Tom Kha and Calamari salad were outstanding. The Pad Thai was forgettable and frankly tasteless. It had a think (what tasted like) tomato sauce??? Yuk...

I ordered the drunken noodles that I always do to test Thai Restaurant and I was blown out of the water, the noodles were wide delicate and perfectly cooked. They were the right amount of them. They had fresh Thai basil, tomatoes, green beans, onions, bell pepper, egg and and perfect seasoning. My sister wanted Rad Nar, which was not on the menu, but the waitress explained to us that basically it's the same thing as duo garlic with green bean chicken with fabulous flavoring. She did not want rice and so she ordered rice noodles instead she thought it was delicious. Best sauce ever. Restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the staff are all superb. Highly recommend.

The food came out pretty quickly and was a good portion size. Everything is very saucy which I like. I enjoy my noodles with more sauce. I liked that they had a special on the pad Thai. It was a soft shell crab pad Thai with shrimp. Their sauces tend to be on the sweeter side and may get overwhelming after you eat half of it. The batter on the crab was not my favorite but I still ate it. They offer a sweet and sour sauce and a salad dressing (white) sauce that tastes similar to Japanese salad dressing. The waitress offered us friend garlic for the duck and it was delicious. I also loved all the hot sauces they brought out for us. I'd definitely come back here!

There's limited parking in the area, but it can be tight. We had a reservation for a late afternoon and the restaurant was getting pretty busy. I would definitely recommend reservations during peak times dinner hours. We were pleasantly greeted and had an opportunity to walk through a very cool bar area. The restaurants surrounds a courtyard, which would be lovely in warmer weather. Just beyond the courtyard you can see from just about every area of the restaurant right into the kitchen, which is always fun. Without any surprise, there's an extensive wine list available as well as a fantastic list of mixed drinks and mocktails. Every dish was amazingly flavorful with attention to every detail. As visually beautiful as all the dishes tasted. Everything was made with quality ingredients and flawlessly executed. I'm not sure I have enough adjectives to describe how wonderful a dining experience this can be. Highly recommend that you find your way to this tucked away gem.

Service from the host, servers, and bussers went above and beyond. Honestly, couldn't remember what was ordered, but we ordered more than enough. As such, it was extremely noisy and you could see that couples on dates had a hard time even talking to one another, and eventually just stopped. I could barely hear my wife talking next to me. Most of the servers would even have to lean in to hear the orders. As for the food, nothing really stood out. We ordered a large variety as we were a group of 10 eating family style and nothing really stood out. The quality of the food I would say was akin to fast food or mall food court level, but you're paying 3 times as much. The price belied the food quality. For example, 3 small pieces of ribs as an appetizer for more than $30, I'd expect it to be uniquely spiced, flavorful and juicy, but it was rather dry and tasted as like sauce from Panda Express. Their Wagyu beef carpaccio had too many strong flavors so the taste of the beef itself was lost. Heck, it didn't even really have the notable creamy-like texture that wagyu was supposed to have either (likely a lower grade of wagyu, probably somewhere between USDA Choice and Prime). A lot of their items feel gimmicky too: the unagi clay pot came with some seaweed, a seaweed holder, and two small bottles of sauces. The sauces were bland and contributed nothing to the dish. Making your own "hand rolls" with the seaweed did nothing for this dish other than get your hands dirty. I've watched enough Iron Chef back in the day to understand that this is very Morimoto, as he tries to make the dishes fun. The unagi itself was quite nice, though it might be my personal bias. The Halibut we got was overcooked and dry. Yes halibut is a firmer meat, but man this was hard to eat. The best dish was likely the Ishiyaki Buri Bop, which came with some tables idea theatrics. Nevertheless, for the price, you could do much better at a place like Kunjip Tofu in the bay. Overall, a bad experience. Based on the price point, I thought we'd be getting better food and better ambience, but it was overall mediocre - a blemish on the Morimoto name.

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more None of their dishes have fish sauce so you don't get knocked over the head with the smell when you walk in. They remind me every time I order, but as a vegetarian, we've all had that fish smell delivered to us at a Thai restaurant at least once (probably twice, more likely three times) in our eating lifetimes. It is such a relief to not have to worry about that here. Would I Come Back? Yes, when I'm in town, I make it a point to come here. Did I mention they don't use fish sauce!? Parking is is incredibly easy so that's never an issue. It's a shared parking lot with many stores and other restaurants. I typically go on a Sunday for lunch, and even with a party of 5, I haven't had to wait for a table. Seating capacity is probably 45-50 guests so if you're planning a large party, definitely best to call ahead and make a reservation. The Food: Roti & Yellow Curry ($14, Grade A+): Fried roti with a yellow curry dipping sauce. It's a super savory dish, and honestly, I should have had you at "fried." If you're wondering what roti is, think of it as a buttery, flaky, pan-fried flatbread. It's large enough appetizer to share with 3 people, but you're pushing your luck with 4. Pad Thai with Fried Tofu ($16, Grade A): I've had this dish 5 times now. To be completely transparent, it's the exact reason why I can't give Pearl Thai a full 5-star rating, purely because of consistency. The first time I got it, it was perfect. The second and third times, it had no sauce and was dry. The fourth time, I asked them to make it saucy, and they obliged to an almost soupy level. For this fifth time, I just ordered it straight up and zipped my lip on any alterations. As they say, the fifth time was a charm! When it's made with the perfect amount of sauce, this dish is excellent. The noodles have that exact texture you look for in a pad thai, and the egg gets that great scorch from the wok for an added layer of flavor. Also, the tofu has been incredibly fresh every single time. It never tastes slightly spoiled, which happens a lot in smaller towns that don't heavily support plant-based diets where tofu just sits in a fridge eagerly awaiting someone to order it. Mixed Vegetables ($14, Grade A): Sautéed wood ear mushrooms and mixed vegetables in a garlic soy sauce. If you've ever had Pad Pak, you already know this flavor profile. I really enjoyed it, but next time I'll ask for no carrots and maybe half the garlic. Overall, it's a perfect dish that absolutely requires steamed rice to soak up all that great flavor. Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($8, Grade A): The classic dessert we see at all Thai restaurants, but they serve it with purple sticky rice, making it a visually yummy dish. It's plenty of food to share between two people. Bottom Line: The service here is great and very friendly. It's a small, local shop with "Best in Town" awards highlighted on the walls. The environment is clean, and the food is served hot and arrives at the table quick. One Last Word: Don't leave here without ordering the roti with yellow curry for an appetizer. Pure savory goodness!
