Good hole in the wall in Napa. Definitely a locals spot only in my opinion. The sushi is not very high end, it's more of an easy spot to stop by for a sushi fix. If you're wanting to have a fancy sushi date night would go to Amani, Morimoto or Eikos in Napa. Usually I don't like going to sushi restaurants that have less than four stars but this place was the only restaurant within close proximity to my job so I decided to test my luck and go over here and order some Nigiri because I'm craving it badly, so I ordered Ama Ebi, sake and Tamago nigiri. I get there and it's only one waitress, bless her heart she looked very overwhelmed. But as I'm sitting, waiting for my food mind you I'm sitting at the bar and the sushi chef is right in front of me prepping all the orders and stuff and he literally coughs on the food as I'm watching him not once not twice but three times and I immediately am quite literally disgusted and in my head I'm like he could've turned his head cough in his arm or stop what he's doing go do what he needs to do but no he just decides to just let it all out on the food he's preparing and that is when I was like yeah no I'm not gonna eat here. I was only on an hour lunch anyways and they said it would take over 20 minutes and I did not have the patience or time to wait that long so I guess it was for the better that I did it end up getting food from there. Kat was our waitress, and she did a phenomenal job. I don't eat red meat, chicken, or pork and I asked what type of meat the gyoza had, which ended up being chicken. After she heard me order something else, she asked me if dairy was okay in my food, and if the fish flakes were okay on my tofu, which was very appreciated. I've been coming here for over five years with my boyfriend, and she is always incredibly friendly. We sat on the patio, which was very nice. We normally order the Sashimi, and the fish is always great quality. However, over the past year they have really improved the presentation of their dishes, and it is truly a feast for both the eyes and the stomach! We shared the Combination Sashimi Assorted, Spicy Edamame, Salad, Miso Soup, Agedashi Tofu, large Orion, large warm Sake, and fresh iced tea. I ordered the crab because I've been craving it for awhile now and was very disappointed:/ Our waitress rushed us and I asked for no dressing on my boyfriend's salad and she was walking away when I asked and went "YA OKAY" and then brought us salad with dressing like??? Aside from that I'm mainly here to complain about the crab. The legs are SO tiny that the breading attempts to make it look bigger than it is. The breading tastes like straight up oil (I get it it's supposed to be fried but good fried food doesn't taste like oil). I was halfway through my Napa Valley Roll when I started feeling sick (maybe from the crab) but I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend got teriyaki chicken and gyoza which he didn't complain about but I'd stay away from fried stuff. I took my nieces to lunch and we were warmly greeted by the staff when we walked in. We ordered soup, a California roll, a 49ers roll, a Tiger roll, and mixed tempura. We received our food promptly and the server made sure we knew what each roll was. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our favorite was the 49er roll. This is one of our favorite Napa restaurants to visit for a special lunch or dinner! This lunch was only made more special by a sweet family eating lunch that paid our tab! We have been going to Sushi Haku for years. Although I think they have a new owner, we just went last week and they were just as good just as kind service was just as lovely. But this is what I wanted today, I had sometime to be here so I might as well get some fresh Beef and Vegetable Udon noodle. This is nothing like that instant Myojo Udon at H Mart. I don't need to be a chef to know that other noodle is more clumped, have less bounce, and somewhat brittle. That's like comparing SpaghettiOs, to Bertolli pasta. It's not one in the same. The bowl of noodles arrived scorching hot. The broth reminds me of a slightly less darker Shoyu. A Ginger dipping sauce can somewhat help this dish out. This is what a basic Udon should taste like. This can be very much a 4.1-4.3 stars on a good day, but I give this 4 stars flat. read more

I was fully ready to give a bad review because I was 1) given the wrong roll but charged for a more expensive roll (3 $9 rolls and a $16 roll somehow came out to a $60 tab) 2) was told my food "wouldn't take long" then told it would take 20 minutes, YET it wasn't ready for 35 minutes and it made me late to the event I was headed to. Walked in around 8pm. Yelp says 9:30pm, their sign on the door says 8:30pm. I was immediately greeted with a rude, "you can't sit here you have to get whatever you're ordering to go." The place had two other people sitting there eating still. But I said okay, but the server was still rude rushing me to order and pay while standing at the counter. Speaking of pay, the sushi was not worth the price. Almost $35 for a spicy sushi and California roll. That seems high for just 8 pieces each. Surprised because the gent that made it was probably 60 and should know better I figured, ok, forget the sushi and asked for a Hamachi Kama(collar) It came way undercooked and cooked only on one side...not good or safe as the only time I got food poisoning was from under cooked yellow tail collar somewhere else. This is a popular staple, small sushi restaurant in Napa. The food is always prepared well. I wouldn't suggest taking out, as I know their portions are not served equally as you would have dining in. It was horrible customer service. When our food arrived she dropped the plates on the table very abruptly and didn't return to offer us water or anything else. I am really disappointed. First of all, no one answered the phone when I called (I tried several times). So I drove over to place my order for my family and had to sit and wait for it to be done. The real bummer came when they took my order and started to write down the prices. They are nothing like the prices on the online menu. Every item was more and in some cases $10 more! This is just not acceptable. If this order was just for my husband and me I would have gone somewhere else but it is for a family gathering.
