I have ordered Chinese delivery from here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The delivery is always faster than expected and the food is hot. I recommend the pad thai and orange chicken, and I usually get the crab puffs even though they're not the best. The egg rolls have an odd spice in them that I dislike, however, I know others who love them. I am giving this four stars based on food quality and delivery service. I have dined in here once and we were the only ones there, so service was great. However, I agree with other reviews that agree it needs a designer upgrade to improve ambiance. read more

I visited this establishment last week for the first time in several years. I remembered my past dining experiences as being very positive. This time, NOT so. I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce. Priced well. Plate piled high with food. The problem, it looked like dog food with a ton of green peas added. I picked through and ate my 5-small shrimp, one tiny egg roll and one cream puff. When the waitress finally came back over to my table and seeing my money laying there, she asked if I wanted a to-go box. I said NOOO, this was pretty bad. She completely ignored me, didn't say a word. Brought back my change and just kept walking. For the first time, honestly, evvvvvver I left a "0" tip!! By-the-way, I walked in shortly after 12-noon. There are a lot of Asian restaurants in any city and my Tucson preferences have changed over the years. I used to go to Mayflower for a few years, then China A and New Town Buffet for awhile during which I started going here and now almost exclusively dine here especially for lunch. They have two lunch deals for around $6 that just can't be beat. And the sliced BBQ appetizer is another favorite as well as the fried BBQ pork rice. Check it out! I've been looking for a new Chinese joint to go to for good quality Chinese food. It would seem like every place I've tried would fall short. It bummed me out to say the least. One day I was at frys trying to buy some fruit and I seen this green sign in the corner of the strip mall. It's the jade garden, I thought hey I should go In and grab a menu. And I am so happy I did. This has been my go to spot for Chinese food since 2016. I sound so traditionalist But I always order the same thing sesame chicken. It's a huge double portion that comes with a side of white rice. I usually get my two boys one entree to share and my wife usually gets a vegetable dish. On the order side of the house you can customize your Order such as no blah blah blah please. I like curling up with something yummy while watching a movie at home. Pizza gets tiresome, but Chinese never does. I always get this to go in a couple of the classic containers. I really like the family run business and give them our business every other week on avg. The father always rings me up and they are FAST. Pot Stickers!!! What is Chinese food without pot stickers? They always prepare these(6) the way I like - still sticky but with a hint of brown for that crispy part too. Take a small tear off the end of one and then drown it in the sauce untill the entire dumpling is swollen. Then jam that sucker in your mouth whole while swirling the juices that come pouring out - So good. The orange chicken is packed full in the container with an entire side of white/fried rice. The texture and taste are perfect. I cheat and use a fork, but dont tell anyone. I always have leftowver for breakfast. Nothing better than orange chicken in the morning - breakfast of champions. Random thing. I have always loved Chinese soup spoons. You know the type - plastic with a large boat and a short handle. Why do we use metal spoons? Metal conducts heat and helps burn the lips. For Xmas, my only request from my wife was a set of these plastic spoons. She got them for me. Exactly what I wanted. They even curl at the very end so they dont fall into your bowl of soup. This was a good dining experience, especially for Christmas Day, when not many places are open. Seven of us went to dinner and each ordered something different. It was all good, but the meatless dishes were less flavorful than the ones with seafood or meat. I had my usual Crispy Walnut Shrimp. It was done well -- perhaps a tad over sweet, but not excessively. Other dishes we enjoyed included Sweet and Sour Pork and Broccoli Beef. They were excellent. Service was so-so, but perhaps because the kitchen was geared down for a slow evening. Some of our dinners came promptly, but others took nearly half an hour to prepare, so half the table was finished before the others got their food. I would definately go again. read more

We returned to sample the goods after a renovation. We had to work late a lot this week, so we got to eat out quite a bit as well. We were there around 7:30 pm, the only dine-in customers at that hour. We did see a lot of order-out activity, so the restaurant was quite busy despite the quiet dining room at that late hour. This restaurant is tucked into the corner of a strip shopping center on the NE side of Ina and Thornydale. They just recently reopened. The ambiance seemed nicer than its past decor, complete with two fish tanks. Since we had no idea what this restaurant's specialty might be, we chose off of their large menu. I had a craving for Pad Thai and was curious to see their rendition. Gary loves Mu Shu, so we ordered the "combo" version of the Pad Thai and Mu Shu. That meant both dishes contained chicken, beef and shrimp. They were outstanding! Both dishes had the wok char flavor which we love. The Pad Thai was made with skinny rice noodles instead of the flat wider ones. Besides that, the flavor and ingredients were delicious. The peanut toppings were roasted, adding a great flavor. Gary's Mu Shu was a generous portion and very tasty, as well. If I had to play critic, the only thing that would improve the dishes would be to cook in slightly less oil. We also ordered a large bowl of hot and sour soup, to see how Jade Garden interpreted this dish. To our surprise, it was unique and delicious and a bit on the sweet side compared to other soups of the same name. It had a distinct ginger flavor as well as a nice portion of goodies in it (tofu, pork, seaweed, bamboo, egg, etc.). You could order the large soup as a main course. We had every intention of bringing home leftovers (next day's lunch at work!), and we had plenty for another meal. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavor of the food. I will definitely make this restaurant a more regular place to eat on my list. Decided to give them another try recently because they are close to the house and we didn't want to drive far. It ended up being pretty good. We ordered on their website, which told us our order would be ready in 25min. When arrived there were 3 other people waiting for their pre-ordered meals as well. The workers got confused and gave the wrong order to people cause us to have to wait an additional 25 mins for our order. This is only Chinese food place we order from! The food is always delivered hot, fresh and orders are accurate. It's hard not to spend a weeks worth of groceries when you're buying more than one or two dishes/sides- but the portion sizes are great! We specifically love the house lo mein, pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, general tsao and sesame chicken, egg rolls and crab puffs. We've never had anything we weren't happy with!! Maybe that's her Culture but I don't find it appropriate to be wearing that type of footwear in the food industry. Food was okay. I base my reviews on how good their almond/cashew nut chicken is. If they can't do that right then I'm sure the rest of the menu sucks as well. This place was actually pretty good. Their soup, Eggroll and almond chicken had great flavor. The interior is nothing fancy but clean and service was very attentive. My boyfriend and I have been ordering food here for the last 3 years. In general, we have had great experiences-- delivery and dine-in. Our favorites are the BBQ Pork fried rice, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. We usually order one dinner item and we split it. The portion sizes are very reasonable and plenty for two people. The last time we ordered, there was a mix-up with delivery-- which has never happened. We have dogs and if someone were to knock on the door, they would bark. The quoted delivery time is usually around 45 minutes... I checked my phone after 34 minutes and saw that I had a missed call. The delivery driver had called to say he knocked and no one answered-- but he called and left the message once he was already at the restaurant. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager about re-delivery. She was very short with me and said it would be about 15 minutes-- which is fine, we waited. Once the delivery driver arrived, he claimed he knocked and heard the dogs barking and we never came to the door. We have three chihuahuas and they are loud-- we would have heard. We were very polite as always and apologized for the mix-up. Once we dug into our food, the pork fried rice wasn't cooked for as long as it normally is. We tried the Mongolian beef this time and there was literally no spice to it whatsoever. Very disappointed after many great experiences here. I could look past the delivery mix-up, but the food quality this time around was just terrible. Maybe we will try one more time, or maybe we will just look for a new regular Chinese restaurant. Edit- I am editing this review since we decided to give Jade Garden another try. We ordered carry-out and everything seemed back up to par with what our previous good experiences. The BBQ pork fried rice was hot and cooked all the the way through. The crab rangoons and the egg rolls were crispy and delicious. We decided to try a different entree-- the hunan beef-- and let me say, it is delish!! It had just the right amount of heat. After that great experience, we decided to order again, but delivery this time. Everything went smoothly and the food was perfect! Everyone has a bad day and the same goes for restaurants. I've lived in the orient for several years. It's always a challenge to find a good Chinese restaurant. I ordered take out that was supposed to have taken 15 minutes. It took almost 30 minutes while I watched them serve the dine in customers. Even customers that arrived while I was waiting. I can forgive that, kind of, if the food is good. I ordered roast pork egg foo young. I really don't believe the patties had any egg in them at all, and definitely no bean sprouts. It was like they were make with flour and a couple of peas (HORRIBLE). The sauce was a repulsive sweet sauce with a couple of pieces of roast pork and scallions. The egg rolls were supposedly with pork. I didn't find any. I would highly recommend that you don't patronize this restaurant just to be disappointing. There is a better restaurant next to an Asian market in a shopping center on the corner of La Cholla and Orange Grove. read more

I don't think I can put into words just how happy I was to find this place. It's taken me close to year to find a decent chinese place here in Tucson since I moved away from TX. Sure, this place doesn't look a 5 star restaurant but it's comfy and I find it's quirkiness endearing. The people there were very kind and I could hear them cooking away in the kitchen on my meal. I got my food nice and hot and FULL OF FLAVOR! Everything we ordered was 100% amazing.
