Yet another Chinese American restaurant with a very high Yelp rating - 4.6 over 39 reviews! In fact there was only 1 review under 3, and that was because they closed early on a night. This spot has 10 tables for dining in, but is primarily a take out restaurant. I ordered two lunch specials - Mongolian Beef and Chicken in Garlic Sauce, along with an Egg Roll. The lunch specials come with fried rice and the cost is $7.75 each, while the Egg Roll was $2.75. The order was ready in just over 10 minutes. The Egg Roll was solid if not spectacular - nicely cooked, well filled with fresh tasting vegetables. The Mongolian Beef was very nice with plenty of tender slices of beef and a good array of sliced vegetables in a slightly sweet sauce with some heat. The star though was the Chicken in Garlic Sauce. As with the beef, there was plenty of tender slices of chicken, lots of freshly chopped vegetables. The sauce is excellent, plenty spicy and the garlic aspect was mild. They offer a beef version, which I'll definitely try next trip. The fried rice was spot on, nicely separated grains, dotted throughout with peas, carrots and corn. Great food always! I'm from DC where carry outs are abundant. Here in NC I don't see a lot of good Chinese Carryout restaurants but Jade Garden has been the best I've had and will continue to buy from them exclusively. read more

This is by far the best take Chinese/cantonese i found. I have tried several around and this one tops them. All the food was warm and seemed very fresh. The roll had a slight crunch along with the Rangoon. The Rangoon was warm, melted and rich. The wait was not long although there is not in door dining. My favorite Chinese food in Winston so far! I have been pretty disappointed with Winston's Chinese cuisine options so far but Jade Garden was exactly what I wanted. Large servings, priced favorably, with lots of flavor. The egg roll was really the highlight for me. A true 10/10. You should note that they are take out only but they were pretty quick on my first visit. read more

Highly recommend this establishment if you're looking for good Chinese takeout. I tried the Chicken with Garlic sauce lunch special and was not disappointed. Stumbled across this place via Yelp and decided to drive across town and check it out. Jade garden is what you would expect of typical food choices. The inside was clean and the lady working the front was very friendly. We decided on orange chicken combo, fried scallops with fried rice and crab cheese wontons. Best Asian Food in Winston. Hands down. I go across town and wait just for this food but its always 10 mins tops. Just dont try to call ahead. They're like maybe a 2 person team? Tried this place for the 1st time. For starters just to call in I knew it must be good because the line was busy, busy,, busy!! I just kept dialing until I finally got through to get my order in. Nice that they do have lunch specials, unfortunately it doesn't come with soup or egg roll. The fried rice I is not pork fried rice, it just has onions and peas in it, which was different for me. However, it wAS good because I guess in a way it was healthier, not greasy. The chicken in garlic sauce which I have had from many places, automatically came nice and spicy which for mme workS great, I truly enjoyed that it was DELICIOUS!!!!!! I also got a wonton soup and that was quite tasty, my only complaint which brought the score/stars down for me was that the crispy noodles for the soup were stale. I always look forward to those noodles for the soup & prefer the homemade ones that are nice & fresh. Orange chicken was probably the best I've ever had. It's not on the lunch special menu, but just ask. The lady at the counter said it was the same price as Generals chicken. ($5.75) The rice was very good, not the best rice I've had, but very good. Went to the bathroom, and I was shocked.....cleanest bathroom of any Chinese take-out I've visited. Dining room area was very clean also.I asked the lady at the counter what she recommended on my next visit, and she said the beef noodles, chicken in garlic sauce and Mongolian beef were popular. This place is always on point even during the pandemic! I miss getting food from this place now that I have moved away from this area. The wings, shrimp were my favorite here along with the general tso, sesame chicken, egg rolls, fried rice, and lo mein. Customer service is also the best here and I know that when i come back to the area I will visit for some good food. read more

Jade Garden is a bit unassuming from the outside, but I really enjoyed the food. I ordered chicken lo mein, general tso chicken, and beef with hot garlic sauce. Everything came out very quickly, and it was still piping hot when I made it home. It was all delicious. The nice lady gave me a lot of soy sauce, hot sauce, and hot Chile oil. She let me know they're about to have a much spicier version of the Chile oil. This is a good stop for really solid Chinese takeout. read more

Great service and food is made fast. The place is always clean and parking is always available. Their broccoli and garlic sauce is not greasy and my boyfriend loves their general tso's chicken. He says it's the only Chinese food that still tastes good microwaved the next day (he's very picky). I'm not a huge fan of their veggie spring rolls, but either way they are the only Chinese food place we trust in the area. read more

As of 6/10/15, Jade Garden has been open for 10 weeks. Only recently noticed it on my drive home. Stopped in today, ordered the Chicken with Garlic Sauce Combo. Comes with fried rice and an egg roll for $7.50. It's got a slow building mild heat, slightly sweet, with plenty of chicken and crunchy veggies : broccoli, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, green peppers, celery, and carrots. I'd get it again. Egg roll's average, the mountain of fried rice has peas and onions. Also ordered a small pork lo mein that was generously stuffed into the pint container for $4.50. Tried just a little so far, but it tasted good. Small place, nice simple decor, eat in or take out. I'll be back to try other dishes. So glad to have a Chinese restaurant near by! read more

This place has the absolute BEST CHINESE FOOD IN TOWN! The owners are beyond friendly and have been in service for many years to the point they get to know their customers and what they want to order. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly! This not generic, cookie-cutter food. The menu choices look familiar, but this is exceptional cooking. The chef is a master of seasoning and everything looks and tastes clean, high-quality and delicious. Service is always fast, accurate and super friendly. There food is rich in flavor and there cuisine is mostly known for there use of fresh herbs, coconut milk and aromatic spice paste;known as kroeung(lemon grass paste). I decided to try some entrees from the Khmer menu. I tryed the Malaysian Roti appetizer with side curry. It is so so delicous. The curry is tasty too but a little too sweet for my taste. Main entrees I tryed was the chicken kroeung (sour lemongrass soup) and the braised pork meat on bone cooked in soy sauce( Malaysian style but Khmer people have a similar dish). The chicken kroeung is soup for the soul, filled with alot of green veggies and best eaten with white rice. The braised pork meat is great too. Cooked just right and seasoned good. Its not sweet or salty. Usually I would try braised meat in soy at other restaurants either it would be way too sweet or salty but they made theres just right. Now the Southeastern asian cooking is not for everybody or those who have only tried chinese or japanese food. If you'd like to try something different but oh sooo delicous,khmer cusine is for you!! The staff is very welcoming,friendly and informative. Food came out hot,quick and tasty(bursting of aromatic flavors). I met the owner too. He mentioned he also have a donut shop called Intown donuts and Boba tea..down the road on Jonestown Road. Will definitely dine here again and try there other menu items. Next time am going to try the donut shop before I come here since it closed earlier.

On my latest visit, I wanted to try yet another item on the Khmer Menu (Cambodia dishes for the…read moremost part) - it was listed and pictured as Peking Duck. But when I ordered it the manager,Tony Tan, said the dish was actually 1/2 Roasted Duck! I went with the duck(which includes steamed rice), and added Baby Bok Choy, a nicely stir-fried dish that goes very well as a side item with a great many Asian entrees! These items made up a very nice meal. The duck is chopped into chunks with bone in, and is plated with a nice amount of rich broth, with just a hint of sweetness. The chunked up approach for the duck does result in some small pieces of bone to be picked through, in some cases fairly carefully. The picking through the bones was definitely worth it. I'm looking forward to trying additional Cambodian dishes.
