Awesome! I can't say enough about how great the food is here! This place is a hidden gem! If you're a food connoisseur which I believe I am, then you would love it at Jade House! I wish they would build one out in San Jose, because it would make it easier for me to get to. I use to eat lunch nearly every day here but since I moved I can only make it about twice a month (but well worth the hour drive). Family owned and operated so you can expect to see the same familiar faces every time. A suggestion that I can make though, would be to order ahead of time, the wait is insane, if your ordering when you get there as apposed to pre ordering, your expected wait time is about 1-2 hrs (but that's because they cook to order). The place looks very old but they keep it clean for the most part. The cooking area is open for you to see, so when the flames go up its cool to watch. The atmosphere however can tend to be a bit chaotic, with children running around, and the sounds of the woks banging against the burners, it's definitely not an ambiance you would for a date. If you like spicy foods try: -Mongolian beef -dry fry spicy prawns/ribs/pork chop -garlic chicken with eggplant Or other really good dishes are: -combination fried rice -walnut prawns -mandarin prawns/chicken/ or pork -broccoli beef Its ALL good! read more

I love this place. It's the only place I know of that let's you add any kind of meat to any dish. And give you an option of sauces. I'm in love with all their veggie dishes with the addition of shrimp. I get the white rice with every meal and it's only 6 bucks. Because it's made to order it's always fresh, hot, and tasty. It is a small place but it doesn't really matter. I always take it home to eat. The owners are all nice. The lady that works there is the one that let me know I can add any meat. Their kids are adorable and sweet. And for someone who doesn't cook or have a kitchen this is the best place to pick up my close to homemade Chinese dinners. Yummmmmm!!! read more

Yesterday I ordered a variation of a Chow Fun dish. BBQ Pork Chow Fun with Black Beans, (dry style). I also asked them to add a little chili sauce as well as some vegetables (Zucchini, Bok Choy, bean sprouts & onions) to the mix. Wow, this was cooked to perfection! I noticed that the chef par boiled the bok choy, zucchini and bbq pork and while lifting the large, wired ladle out over the boiling pot of water, he used his cooking spatula to press all the water out. He then put all the ingredients into the wok and in less than 3 minutes it was done! I did pay a little extra for the added ingredients but it was well worth it. The total was $9.76. read more

I still love this place! They've been around for 20 years. It's a local favorite. Fresh food made in front of your face. Not one of those Panda Express spots where food sits for hours. Food is sooooo good here. I would agree it's not the nicest place to eat at but then again that's how most authentic Chinese restaurants in Chinatown are. Place is a gem! I dont understand why I love the Fried Rice here there are no Veggies in it (@least in the combo plate).. the only thing I get is there Combination Plates (iv'e had quite a few over the years.) , Egg rolls And Potsickers. I go here maybe once every 6 months or something.. its nice food... the walls could be cleaned but I know its from the cooking. I do like the fact that you can watch them cook your food. I'm not sure how/why people can give this place 4 or even 5 star ratings. I came here strictly because of the ratings, and boy was I disappointed! I walked in and there were 3 of the 4 tables filled with plates of half eaten food that appeared to have been sitting there all day. The stove and wok looked filthy. The floors hideous. The first thought that came to mind was RATS. We ordered Peking spare ribs, mandarin chicken, beef chow fun w/black bean sauce and extra gravy, salt and pepper spare ribs. Ordered it to go, inside is not really set up like a restaurant more of to go orders. Food was cooked fairly fast, prices are reasonable, food was decent. The Peking spare ribs being more of an orange color, threw me off. I have had Peking spare ribs from easily 50 different restaurants throughout the Bay Area from being a small child all the way to an adult. I would like to say I have never seen Peking spare ribs taste this way or look orange. Usually it's a bright dark red, the sauce is caramelized on and It has a sweet flavor. The Peking spare ribs here wasn't bad but doesn't taste like usual Peking spare ribs I've have had and am used too. Wouldn't order it again because I usually order it for something sweet and the kids love the way it's normally cooked Also I have never had salt and pepper spare ribs with onion and garlic in it. It's usually only salt and fresh jalapeño pepper. But still had good flavor. Beef chow fun black bean sauce with gravy was decent very generous with the vegetables. Personally for me a little too generous because there was more toppings then the actual noodles. Would of been better with more noodles and less toppings. Mandarin chicken had decent flavor. It just threw me off because the batter looks crispy but it's actually kind of soggy. We've been eating here for a long time and a couple days ago I received a very rude welcome from one of the restaurant workers. I have a service dog who is well trained and is registered as a service dog. The person working there refused to let me eat since i had my service dog with me. I explained how he's a service dog and the worker threatened me and said he didn't care and if contacted ADA about this situation and that he would tell them that my dog was barking at people and making them feel uncomfortable when my dog wasn't at all. It was a very upsetting experience, it sucks that we've been going to this place for a long time but we don't plan on coming back here at all anymore read more

Open kitchen looks unsanitary, very messy. This reflects their poorly executed food. Cheap eats but not good eats that's for sure. I have eaten a few times here because of joining guests who invited me. But I would not ever go back there by choice. Choose Hunan Restaurant on Clayton Rd. or Sichuan Fortune House in Pleasant Hill. Jade House in Pittsburg is mediocre americanized Chinese food at best, I'd rather eat at a Safeway grocery store for their hot chinese food, lol. read more

So I just had lunch at Jade House in Pittsburg. When it comes to value for money their rice plates are awesome. I had the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice at it was $4.50. I don't think I've spent less than $5 on lunch since I was in high school. The Jade House has been a longtime favorite of mine for many years. But when I purchased the same thing I always order . . . Vegetable Fried Rice . . . something happened. The lady went to the refrigerator and took a bucket of rice out and scoped the white rice with her hands. She didn't wash them before nor did she put on gloves. I thought well, they are going to fry it on a hot burner. I did eat a little but threw it away. It ruined my favorite. I won't be going there again for awhile. It makes me sad. read more

If you want Chinese food for a really cheap price then this is the place to go. Their rice plates are ridiculously cheap and their portions are very generous. The quality of their food is decent, they're definitely not a fancy Chinese restaurant, but I've frequented this place many times throughout the years and have always been satisfied. My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years now and clearly we absolutely LOVE it! Food is delicious and prices are unbeatable. We've never experienced a long wait time but the restaurant does get busy during certain times (i.e. Friday night/lunch time), just like any other restaurant. So, it's not the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The people were friendly enough... But the clanging of the dishes used to prepare the food was louder than gunshots. I had the mandarin chicken and fried rice meal, super inexpensive. But when I got it, it made sense why it was so cheap. The hot and spicy chicken had bones in it...
