My grandma loved this place... which means this is good Chinese food. Not only are they friendly, they are fast. The restaurant is nice and clean too. The soup came fast and hot, it was filled with flavor. My favorites were the shrimp toast and general tsos shrimp! The beef chow fun was really good and you know sesame chicken is a classic. Thoroughly "meh" in every aspect. We were promptly shown to our table by by an indifferent host. Seemed more interested in game that was playing on the tv behind the bar than any aspect of customer service. The decor can best be described as 80's chic. I'm sure this place was happenin' in 1987. Now, it just looks dated. The dining room appeared to be very clean, just not particularly inviting or pleasant. Started off with the ubiquitous pupu platter. They have incredible egg rolls here. The rest of the platter was mediocre. The wait service was efficient of not particularly friendly. There certainly was a language barrier in play here. My wife ordered the pepper steak and I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix, which is general Tso chicken and jumbo shrimp in a chili sauce. My order was pretty good. The general tso chicken is flavorful. The shrimp portion was very uneventful. Not much heat, not much flavor. I've had similar dishes at local Chinese takeout spots that are MUCH more flavorful. My wife's pepper steak was just awful. It was wayyyyy overcooked and basically grizzle. Completely gross and inedible. When asked by our server if she wanted it wrapped, we answered no thank you, we really didn't care for it. Ok cool. No manager ever came over. Granted we didn't ask for one, but this is like hospitality 101. We skipped dessert and went to the gelato place down the road. Overall, prices here are a good 25%-35% higher than a local Chinese takeout equivalent. There is zero ambiance to the dining room and the level of customer service isn't very good. Great Old Fashioned Chinese Food! Totally recommend this place!! Not to worry, they have a healthy section for those who don't want to indulge on this unhealthy food. The tea is very good and their spare ribs are very delicious. Very good special soy sauce. This place could get hectic and the seating is a little off - for that reason I give it 4 stars. I'm on a mission. The lights are out everywhere else in town but Jade King is shining bright. Time to get serious about Chinese food. I stopped by today for lunch. They have a special lunch menu, pretty much like every other Chinese restaurant. One side of the menu has the fixed price lunch specials for $6.50. They have a great selection of entrees to choose from (including Beef and Broccoli, my fav) but if you hungry and looking for more food you're better off with their Lunch Box Specials. I ordered the Beef and Broccoli from the Lunch Box menu for $8.50, this came with a choice of soup (egg drop, wonton, or sweet and sour), fried rice, egg roll and the entree. The portion size was pretty decent (I posted a picture under the photos). Service was pretty good, it took about 15-20 minutes for the food to come out. The staff are not overly friendly but that's o.k., I'm here for the food. The Beef and Broccoli was good. The favors didn't jump out at me but it wasn't a bad dish. I've eaten here in the past and had the Beef Chow Fun and loved it, the dinner portions are huge! I've done take out from Jade King in the past. The takeout portions are huge too. I usually got with a quart of the shrimp chow main $9.95 or a quart of the beef chow fun $10.25. It's a little pricy but each feeds two people unless you're really really hungry. I like Jade King, my mission is a success, two thumbs up from me. It's worth a visit, especially for the takeout. read more

I've been working in this area for about 7 years and every time we've come here the food has been excellent. Spot on. It's one of the better places around here. The service is quick and friendly. The tea is Jasmine and is always hot and steamy. Everything from the Kung Pao Chicken to the finger licking good ribs to their egg rolls (the absolute best egg rolls around) is delicious. It's the only place we go to around here for Chinese food. Similar to other Chinese restaurants in this area, it serves the old school 1970's style menu that Americans have come to know and love. Egg drop soup was a bit bland, hot and sour was far better. Wonton soup for 2 was decent and had lots of other items in it (they use thin skin wonton wrappers here). General Tso's chicken was good and not overly sweet. Orange beef was also well done, not too oily. I also like that the healthy option for their menus offers either steamed or things cooked in garlic and ginger. Prices are fair for this area and the service was good. A plus is that everyone spoke English and there was no issue communicating with customers. Love this Americanized Chinese restaurant. It's a long time local gem in Roslyn. The dishes are always fresh and tasty. Food is consistently good. They do not load up on MSG. Love the chicken wings here. They are so delicious!! The pu pu platter always goes over well with my kids. They give you a nice variety of dumplings, shrimp toast, beef and chicken satay, and Barbecue spareribs. They have a wonderful healthy portion to the menu which is great. The shrimp with black beans and garlic sauce is amazing! The owners and staff are very friendly and always accommodating. They recently facelifted the interior of the restaurant with new seating and wall hangings and it is now beautifully adorned with soothing tangerine orange colors. See, this restaurant is the culmination of the problem when competition in the market does not exist. Because of the scarcity of good takeout Chinese food in the area, they are allowed to sell these ridiculously small portion of crappy food for an exorbitant price. They designed the place nicely to cover up how horrendous their food is and sell it to infrequent takeout eaters. I ordered the boneless spare ribs and the sweet and sour shrimp; the shrimp was literally 5 pieces of the battered shrimp you buy from a bag in Costco. Did I mention it was $15 for 5 pieces of shrimp and a side of white rice? I will admit, their boneless spare ribs were decent, but not worth the $10 for ~8 pieces. So I advise you, if you're looking for takeout, drive the extra 10/15 minutes away and go to a different takeout place, one not under a facade of pleasant "dine-in" eating. I've tried the Chicken with Broccoli here and it is delicious. It taste a lot better than the local Chinese take outs. I was very impressed with the quality of the other dishes as well but my favorite is the chicken with broccoli. The restaurant is setup with sneeze guards to ensure the safety of the guests and their staff during the covid -19 pandemic. I will never order from this place again. I attempted to place an order for delivery and the RUDE man asked if I was putting a tip on the card. I informed him no, he then proceeded to ask me if I was tipping the driver in cash because he has a life that he has to maintain. It baffles me that people want to be nothing beside delivery people and then they treat customers bad for the times they are UNABLE to tip. I get deliveries from them all the time and always tip very generously but I absolutely refuse to continue business with this place when they bully you into tipping the workers. You never know who you are speaking to on the phone or in person. I've never been treated like this before. The worst part is I was going to tip him regardless but I found it very unprofessional that I was being bullied into telling him I was going to tip.
