I think I'm getting a bit old, as the music was too loud for me to have a conversation with my group (the only reason I gave this place a 4 star). We were also very lucky to get a parking stall right up front. The servers were checking on us periodically and even apologized that the galbi would take awhile to grill up. If you wanted quicker service, they have call buttons at each table. The food is spot on! Galbi and meat jun are flavorful. The Shoyu Garlic Wings comes with fries, and I used the fries to soak up all the yummy shoyu garlic sauce! The banchan was only one round (not unlimited servings) so enjoy sparingly. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We were invited to sit anywhere. We chose a booth. Interestingly booths come with markers to decorate the booth itself. We got a free appetizer for checking in (Yelp bonus!). For appetizers we had mandoo and corn and cheese. I liked the mandoo less than I thought I would (a bit too crispy), and the corn and cheese more than I thought I would. KT suggested family style, but I had already zoomed in on the Bi Bim Bap, so she got that too. It's a good thing we didn't do family style, because she eats her Bi Bim Bap like an American (i.e., without mixing it all together). Crispy Seaweed Rolls ($9.00). What can I say about the grub? I was the one who got the Cheese Fire Chicken. I liked the spiciness of the chicken, but the cheese melted on the chicken really didn't work for me. It was just okay for me, but I don't think I'd be ordering this again, as I would have been happier ordering a Korean BBQ chicken (which wasn't on the lunch menu). My friend Cathy ordered the Crispy Fish, and I guess it was a big thumbs up for her, as she ordered a second order of this crispy fish to take home. My friend Sharon is vegan, so she got the Veggie Bibimbab, and it appeared everyone else was satisfied with their meal. The Crispy Seaweed Rolls were ordered to share. Excellent food and great customer service. Interior is so cute and clean like a little village home. Loved the side dishes (banchan) spicy pork is spicy so if you can't handle it then don't do it. The staff are so sweet and so friendly they had the warmest smiles. My friends and I came here on a Thursday night at 7pm, and the parking lot was way more crowded than I expected. There was only one stall left, but there was a lot of seating inside the restaurant. Hidden gem with great food! I had a great experience at Jagalchi - though the food took a while to come out, service was great, and the dishes we ordered were really good + came in big portions. I checked in on Yelp and also received a free appetizer (choice of mandoo or seaweed rolls). It was hard to choose just one favorite out of the three things ordered. I loved the rabokki, kalbi soup and mandoo! I have to say portions here were generous considering my bf and I don't usually have leftovers, but I was able to take some rabokki for my home lunch the next day. The servers were all really nice and since we waited a while for our food they gave us free Yakult drinks after our meal for dessert :'). The girlfriend and a couple of our friends went here for dinner last Friday night. The place has been here for awhile but we have never dined here and wanted to give it a try. We arrived around 6:30pm and it was busy. We put our name on the waiting list and were seated about 15-20min later. It took awhile for the staff to come and service our table (which we understand) but we got pretty lucky that another waitress just started her shift. We asked our waitress some questions on the menu, which she was very informative and gave some great suggestions. We placed our order, and the food came out pretty quick. I have recommended this place to many people before because I genuinely loved the food. I recently went with three friends. One of them was visiting for the first time and was super excited based on all our recommendations. We waited for more than an hour to be seated. We ordered bossam, three combo wings, kimchi jeon and galbi kimchi stew. The bossam and kimchi jeon came out first. Almost an hour passed and we still hadn't received the wings or the galbi stew. We brought it up to one of the servers and apparently those items were never listed in our order. On top of that, they told us the galbi stew was sold out, which our server should have mentioned when we ordered. Then our server actually came over and asked, "Who took your order?" and we said, "It was you." Are we being serious right now? Meanwhile, a food influencer who arrived after us was getting fast and prioritized service. We tried to stay calm and said we'd just eat the chicken, but honestly we were all frustrated and didn't want to make a scene. It was getting close to 11 PM and we had reserved our table around 7:30 or 7:45 PM. The chicken was still taking too long, so we decided to just get it to go. Not even a basic apology or any kind of compensation was offered. It was terrible. Mind you the owners were there too just witnessing what is happening! We finally paid and got our chicken. My friend and I arrived a little after 5:00pm on the Wed before Christmas 2023. There were no other customers yet but the place filled up really rapidly soon after. Because we've been waiting to eat here for some time, we went a little overboard. We ordered the rabokki combo, seafood jun, bulgogi bibimbap, galbi, and a peach makgeolli. Then I found out we get a free appetizer for checking in - choice of mandu or crispy seaweed roll - I picked the mandu since the rolls were included in the rabokki combo. We filled the entire 4-top table! Everything came relatively quickly. Portions were reasonably generous! Everything was tasty too. (This is our first visit so we don't have reference for comparison.) My favorite is the seafood pancake-- light and crispy with bits of shrimp and squid and green onions. The rabokki combo was good too. The meat portion in the bulgogi bibimbap was a little small, and there was no gojuchang? But we used the rabokki sauce instead and it worked out fine. The mandu was crispy and delicious. The kalbi was a little hard to eat. Total with tip came to be $150, but we took leftovers home which made two light lunches for me. So basically what we ordered could feed six hungry people. Staff were welcoming and very friendly. We were the first to arrive and left after the crowd left (!!) but we didn't feel pressured to leave. Staff took turns checking in on us. My wife and I always came here for the past 3 years to get our Korean food fix whenever we're in Hawaii. Tonight, I'm sadly to say we're disappointed. Either they cut down some items off their menu or they changed it. I can't remember exactly, but what we usually order were no longer available. We used to love this soup dish with a tomato base, which we couldn't find anywhere else. So on this visit, we ordered the Army Stew, fried dumplings, and meat jeon. Fried dumplings were good, meat jeon was average (no sauce), and army stew was mediocre. The soup was just salty and spicy, and the ingredients used were not that good. They service was quick, since they have a kiosk to order on every table, and to call for service. I do not like leaving poor reviews but I would really like the owner/management to know the food isn't what it used to be, and they should really consider bringing back the old flavors. read more

Ever since we first tried this spot I've been dreaming about coming back. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. We wanted to order everything on the menu but decided on a few items to share between my husband and I : half order of bossam, meat jun (request for it extra crispy) and the cheese fire chicken. They also gave us some banchan to eat with our dishes. We washed down the delicious grinds with some lemon soju which tasted like refreshing lemonade and hit the spot just right. Now, it's become more of a modern Korean place for drinking and for the "younger" crowd. This is a matter of personal preference, but it was really difficult for me to dine here because of how dim the lights were. I also looked at the new menu and the prices were extraordinarily high compared to before. It's a small restaurant in an unassuming building and was pretty empty when I came midweek. We opted to sit in a booth which actually turned out to work for my toddler, who is currently unable to sit anywhere for any length of time.
