One of the servers helped me with my pickup order, which was quick and easy. Food was packed well. I got the veggie rolls appetizer and pad see ew entree with tofu, spice level hot. I saw that they had lunch specials but since I wasn't dining in, takeout was the way to go. The rolls were good and at a fair price of $6.99 for 4, plus sweet & sour sauce. My noodle dish was good: the spice level was actually spicy *and* there was still thai hot and double thai hot levels above it. I wandered here on Christmas Day. Thought I'd try a new place for Thai food. Not sure why since I'm a Thai food snob but I'm looking for another good Thai Restaurant worthy enough to bring my mom. So far there's only been one and sadly due to COVID it had to close down. I'm still sad about it. Anyway, I drove over from Avondale to give this place a try and it's good. Not bring my Thai mom good or drive out of my way again but if I was in the area and wanted Thai food I'd pop back in. It's bigger than it looks from the outside, bright ambiance and clean. The server that greeted me and took my order was really nice and friendly. I ordered the grilled pork with sticky rice and did not like the pork flavor at all. The marinade was not for me. I enjoyed the sticky rice though. I got the beef salad and it was good. I got medium spicy and didn't really taste any spice. The salad was good a little sweet though but I forgot to say no sugar. I think had I done that and it was spicier I would've liked it better. I always choose medium spicy because you never know how spicy it will be. Each restaurant's spice level is different. Sometimes the medium is like a hot and the hot like Thai hot. The drunken noodles were delicious but it was a little oily and lacking in the use of Thai basil and it could be spicier but I chose medium spicy again and didn't find it spicy at all. So if you like spicy try hot or Thai hot. The medium spicy seemed mild to me. Overall it was good and if you're in the area it's worth a try. I'm Thai and grew up on homemade Thai food and can make Thai food so I'm a little more critical when it comes to Thai food. read more

We've come back for dinner and a late lunch twice in the past two weeks. We were just craving some good Thai from this place. The service is as pleasant as ever, and the sitting area is large and clean with plenty of booths and tables to choose from. On our first trip in, we ordered to-go food for Hubs, to take home for his dinner. Our server, who I believe is also the owner, took down the order accurately and made sure to start the order 15 minutes before we were going to leave, and had to go order ready right when we were paying our bill. Stephanie was our server. She did an amazing job. She was quite attentive, answered all our questions gave us space when we needed it and we never had to ask for anything that we shouldn't have had at any time. I can't speak to the ambience of the place, it's of no concern to me. All I care about is good service and good food. The food was exceptional my wife and I both like it very spicy. A bright and cheerful interior welcomes you to Jai Thai. I wasn't expecting such a large place. I was seated at a window booth. There were only two other tables on a Saturday lunchtime. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get lunch but had to order off the regular menu. I chose the Panang curry with chicken. I wanted to try something different! Typically I don't go for many curries because they're overly sweet, and unfortunately, this was the case this time. I ordered medium spice level, but it was only subtly-spiced. This curry came in a large bowl (served with a small side of jasmine rice - again, a very small serving for the dinner menu!) and had the consistency of broth, which I wasn't expecting. The chicken was cut very thinly and was dry and chewy. I slurped through and ate the chicken though because I was so hungry. I'm spoiled because I've learned the wonders of velveting proteins when stir frying and so I was disappointed that the chicken was so tough. I may return during the week when they offer lunch specials. Based on other reviews, people certainly have their favorites that bring them in here. I think it's a welcome addition to this area and I wonder if they saw more traffic their consistency might improve. I was impressed with everything at this location. From the outside, I didn't even realize it was going to be this big and so well decorated, so I was astonished. There's plenty of room to host at least 70-100 customers, plus a separate section if you want to host your own party or a seminar. I have been all about drunken noodles lately and was working in the area so I stopped here for takeout for an early dinner. I ordered online and my order was ready pretty quickly! The restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived! Just one couple dining in. It didn't look like a typical Thai restaurant, it had a nautical type theme going on, and spa-like music playing. And it was set up a little off like bathrooms and a desk when you walk in but there's not like a hostess there you have to keep walking to get to where the seats and bar is and stuff. I got drunken noodles with tofu and added some extra tofu too, the portion was nice and big! I did wish there were some more veggies, a bit less sauce, and a bit more flavorful. We went there years ago but decided to give it another try today. The place has gone through a great change since we were there last so much more cheerful. Service was quick and waitress was wonderful. We bought the combination appetizers and enjoyed it with the two sauces. I had the Tom Ka fried rice with chicken medium heat and Panang Curry also medium heat. I really enjoyed both dishes but the Panang Curry was my favorite. We ordered food from them that was very unsatisfactory. Spring rolls with Tofu, no Tofu. Yellow curry with Tofu, no Tofu. Tom Ka soup that was sent in the smallest container with NO Tofu. I called the restaurant to see what our options were, the person I spoke to asked me if she could call me back in 30 minutes that they had gotten busy. I was patient and said sure. AN HOUR LATER I CALLED THEM BACK FIR THEM TO TELL ME CONTACT DOOR DASH. NO RESOLUTION, NO OFFER TO REMAKE OUR FOOD. So we get a order of garbage for $78 dollars. The food is always phenomenal here! They have been somewhat short staffed as they struggle to build a steady following and customer base and still control their costs to remain open. A difficult challenge for all new restaurants. We have dined in from the time they first opened and the quality is always impressive. Whoever Jai Thai has doing their cooking is talented and we are glad they are close by! We have also placed orders online for pickup as well as delivery and everything remains wonderful. They use lots of vegetables and fresh lemongrass, ginger, bay leaves and other spices that you must pick out of their soups and sauces, but that is the secret to their depth of flavor and the adjustability of the spice level of their dishes. The green curry with eggplant is our favorite because the curry is so unctuous and delicious! We have had the chicken wings which are also flavorful and moist. The TomKhaGai soup is good, however, we prefer more mushrooms and lemongrass in this luscious coconut based soup. So, we usually get the Tom Yum soup instead which has onions, lemongrass, ginger root, mushrooms, tomatoes, as well as cabbage. You may add the protein of your choice or tofu to your taste. Most of their dishes are able to be made according to the spiciness you prefer which will allow more people to try this Thai restaurant if they aren't fond of spiciness. Talk with your server about the difference in their levels of spice, but keep in mind that the intensity of the heat can grow if you save your leftovers. They will also give you some hot chili oil to add later if someone you are sharing with doesn't like really hot dishes and you do. I hope more people will try Jai Thai because this restaurant deserves to be supported! The restaurant uses booths from an old restaurant, so the colors are very bright, but they try to add atmosphere with fish tanks and pictures of beaches. We've been here at least 6-8 times, usually for lunch but only occasionally for dinner. The food is always very tasty & delicious. On our visit for dinner on 7/29/2025 there was only ONE waitress working a very busy dinner crowd & with a table of 10 seniors as well. It took us 10 minutes to even get water before ordering. We had to wait 35 minutes for our meal & then the ONE waitress never asked if we needed anything more or refills on our water. We then had to wait another 10 minutes or more after finished eating to get her attention for a to-go box & to pay. She also was busy with several take-out orders while trying to service other restaurant customers. The group of 10 also had separate checks when finished. We feel that they really need 2 waitresses, especially for dinners. They also could locate large groups of people in one of their other rooms. This would make for much better ambience & a quieter dining experience for all. We will continue to visit but only for lunch when it usually isn't as busy, because we do enjoy their many delicious Thai meals. read more
