Awesome Mexican family Ambiance. With Great Michaladas and Margaritas. Also very flavorful New Mexican style Mexican food

Last week I went to Jaimes Restaurant for the first time. I had a reservation. We sat down, a man came over and asked us if we wanted something to drink. I ordered from the menu a James Margarita. The man looked at me. I showed him what I wanted on the menu. Everything went downhill from there. We got moved, I was served the wrong drink, and only the waitress spoke English. The service was terrible. It took at least a half-hour to get our food. Waitress, in the time we waited. never came back to see if we needed anything. My drink was wrong. A man came with chips and I told him. Evidently, he couldn't understand English. When the waitress finally came back, I told her about my drink. She brought me the right one. She charged me for both. She said I should have said something earlier. Terrible customer service. Won't go back. read more

I've been to this place several times and realized I've never taken the time to praise them for such a consistent and amazing experience. I think their smothered burritos are amazing, the chile relleno is well executed and the carne asada was delicious. The green chili (when smothered over anything including shoe leather would likely taste amazing) has the right balance of heat and flavor such that even as a person who loves it spicy, I enjoy it and yet my girlfriends kids love it as it's not too spicy for the little ones. The drinks are poured generously when ordering a margarita they aren't stingy on the tequila but well balanced. The service is always fast, the food is always hot and the chips and salsa get you ready for what's next. The price is reasonable for what you get and I can't help but want to dine here weekly at least which is a challenge because we try not to eat out more than twice a week and have many other restaurants nearby, yet I keep coming back to this place. Jamie's restaurant was recommended by several people in my neighborhood group news feed. I have only been here a couple times but both times were good. Food was good, staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable. I love the Chile which makes all the difference to me in a Mexican restaurant. I look forward to trying new things on the menu. read more

The food atmosphere and service is the BEST of any restaurant in the Denver Metro ....Hands Down

When we moved further west to Lakewood I was worried about leaving Torres behind. Well luckily we found Jaime's Mexican Restaurant . Two locations both about 5 mins away from us. Both locations have been fast, friendly and most importantly delicious. Best Mexican food in Colorado. Recommend to people all the time. read more

Let's talk about Jaime's Mexican Restaurant. Sue and I were in Denver last week and our nephews took us here as it is their favorite restaurant. we couldn't agree more!! We were seated right away by super friendly staff, greeted by all the servers (Refreshing feeling), even tho they were busy, our waitress was amazing and attentive. Bottomless drinks? served right away! We had 5 of us and our waitress didn't miss a beat Our order was taken quickly, (Our waitress made it fun! YES fun) Here's the big surprise, remember they were busy, our order came out FAST, HOT, and.......DELICIOUS. The atmosphere is AMAZING, the staff is AMAZING, the food is ABOVE AMAZING! Do yourself a flavor....this is a must eat place for today, and next week. We will be back in Denver in the first week of September. This has become my favorite Mexican restaurant. Their burritos are smothered in a delicious and great value for the $$. I love their combination plates because you get basically two meals worth. Their fajitas are also great, but recommend dining in for those as the experience just isn't the same to-go. But whatever you do, do not forget to order the horchata!!!!!! read more

We've been here a few times with pretty good experiences. Today, our waiter came to our table a total of 2 times in 40 minutes. Once our drinks were brought to us, no one ever came back to take our food order or ask if we wanted another drink. Even getting the check was a hassle and took too long. We were at the restaurant for over an hour and only got a drink each, 2 of us at the table. read more

The Mexican Food here is outstanding. The owner's are great people. They just opened their 3rd restaurant at 6th & Garrison. It is located on the Northeast side of 6th Ave you can't miss it. You will not be disappointed the ambiance is also great. I have ordered many different plates they are all good. read more

Tamales are not homemade . They tasted like it was out of a can. Disappointing was looking forward to good food only to get three small nothings on my place . Didn't even come with beans and rice ! read more

My son and I stopped by for lunch today. I had the Jaime's special hamburger and my son had a burrito special. My burger patty was very thin and burnt on one side. It didn't taste freshly cooked and was also much smaller than the circumference of the bun, which itself was grilled to the point of being somewhat hard and dry. Even the fries tasted like they had been setting around for a while and then were reheated. Everything was too salty and nothing was very good. I left most of it on my plate. My son ate his burrito but said he has had much better. It didn't come with rice or beans. This is a cute place and is reasonably priced. Service was decent. I dislike giving a bad restaurant review, but Jaime seriously needs to up his game. A better cook would be a good place to start. I would rather pay a few bucks more and get something that's actually worth eating. There are many Mexican restaurants around the area that serve much better food. Sorry, but we won't be going back. read more

Best classic Denver style mexican I have found in Lakewood. I've eaten here three times and the food has always been freshly prepared with really good salsas with nice heat including the salsa with the chips, green chile, birria consome, and taco salsas. I recommend the tacos, especially the birria, and soft chile relleno. read more

Their food is good.. but the word is out and on Friday and Saturday nights, this place gets slammed more times than you can mention. We like to call in orders, but get stuck on hold up to 5 minutes at a time.. better to just go in and order to go. I've read good and bad reviews, the bad ones are kind of alarming. Yes, bad service and bad food happens. It's not great, and puts you off. So go elsewhere.. it's a free country. My wife and I have been coming here for at least 10 years now.. it's always been good, but understandably, after 10 years that service and food suffers because again, the word is out on Jiame's.. this may be coming to our last visits here.. but Saturday and Sunday mornings seem to go great.. it's just Friday and Saturday nights are where this nice restaurant suffers.. it's now a crap shoot and very disappointing. We love this place, but dammit.. what can you do to find good Mexican food? I hope they come around.. but the writing is on the wall.. Also.. they need a better online presence than just Doordash, Grubhub and UberEats.. one where you can order, then go pick up.. Sigh.. and so it goes.. read more

First time in today & we may have over ordered, but IT WAS WORTH IT. Everything we got was just amazing! We got a carne asada smothered burrito, al pastor tacos plate, single smothered tamale, single smothered crispy chile relleno, & a side of chiccharon with green chile! & also Flan & Fried ice cream for dessert! Had a late lunch today with family, and we all ordered something different. The restaurant was absolutely packed, but the staff did an excellent job managing the crowd, getting folks seated and served, all while keeping the restaurant clean and neat. The hostess was super friendly; great first impression. Our server, Josiah, was outstanding. Very friendly, attentive, didn't hover, but was there when needed. Everyone's food was excellent. No complaints at all. Compliments to the back of the house; well done. The margaritas were outstanding. Well done bar staff . Excellent first visit to this restaurant. read more
