I've never heard of Jaipur before, but my friend and I simply had to come in after smelling all the amazing aromas from outside! Unfortunately, we just missed the buffet time ($15 lunch buffet, which is an amazing deal if I've ever seen one). The interior was very nice, with lots of elaborate decorations. However, maybe since it was in between meal times, the service took a bit longer, since I presume the staff was busy in the back. We tried the Dahi Bhalle Chat and the Lamb Panak with butter naan. Having never tried the Dahi, the sauce was definitely on the sweeter side. I also didn't expect it to be cool, but it was very refreshing! All of the flavours matched perfectly with the crispy pieces. 7/10. The lamb panak was really the star of the show! There were so many rich flavours, and the dish had plenty of meat! We had more than enough to eat, and we still had enough to take home. 8.5/10. The naan was also quite good, and they gave us 6 large pieces. The naan definitely was on the thinner, crisper side, so keep that in mind if you are going to order it. 8/10 Overall, I had a great experience at Jaipur, and I'll definitely be back to try their $15 buffet special next time! read more

Out of all indian food places in surrey , this place is least rated by me because of number of reasons. I would just mention the positive feedback though . 1)Decent portions but the prices are little too much comparatively 2) too noisy in there and zig zag layout of restaurant doesnot give it an ambience but good if u want privacy for ur table. 3) service is not managed n slow compared to other places 4) nothing so gujarati or rajasthani special food which was a big disappointment for me. ( 1-2 dishes on menu) They do have a royal enfield n tractor on display outside on the compound so go for some shots It could have been much better. read more

Someone had told us to try this place, it was disappointing. First of all, the service was not there! I had to yell across "excuse me", because after we sat down, they gave us menu's and disappeared for 10 minutes. After ordering, we waited for 35 minutes for all of our food. It was 3 tables plus us, so I am not sure about the hold up, but it was seriously too long! We ordered tandoor's, a chicken curry, dal, naan, butter chicken and a shrimp curry. Everything was substandard. Nothing spectacular. Wished it was but too bad. The one thing we enjoyed a lot was the naan. It was amazingly good!!! GREAT INDIAN FOOD. We ordered the lamb chops, aloo gobi, goat curry, curry chicken, butter & garlic naan, rasmalai, gulab jamun. Everything was super delicious. Lamb chops were the highlight. Tender, we'll flavoured. Naan was super light and fluffy...not too doughy. Only thing to comment is the chicken in the curry was really small...coulda used bigger pieces and dark meat (personal preference). Service was attentative...and the seats! SO COMFORTABLE. We came on a Friday between late lunch and early dinner. So all in all three tables were just finishing up. So not busy which was nice as it was comfy and quiet . The server was very pleasant and the food came out fast. We were quite surprised that the portions were so generous for the price offered. Maybe we eat at too many high end places? Or Vancouver is just becoming a rio off to dine out these days for quality food. We ended up ordering the Bhindi masala, butter chicken some other curry dish I can't remember and some spicy mushrooms and fish pakoras. All in all about $70. The food was quite tasty. Butter chicken rich and creamy and not too spicy . The okra (bhindi) was medium spicy. It was a bit different from some of the others I've had around town but was good. Especially with the rice! Oh yeah rice is extra and a small plate is good for two big eaters. Asa result we had to takeaway the leftovers for dinner! We would come again the next time we're in this city. Yes the layout is odd but it's a cozy place . Considering the other reviews posted I have no complaints about the service so it looks like they have made some improvements! Kudos ! Kinda wish they had butter mushroom instead of butter chicken but that's just me. Bang for buck for family style lunch or dinner I think it's good. Nice scenery however the organization and food was very sadly very very disappointing . I may have found the faulty towers of Indian cuisine in vancouver . The wait was unnecessary as there were a few tables empty . It took staff so long to set a table . The food came in plastic wheely carts . Appetizer came with dinner 1 hour and 12 min later . 5 people asked of we had ordered in that time period and we waited so long just to have water filled . Twice now they have messed up my take out order. Also the naans are always over buttered and burnt. Then when I call back they either don't answer my calls or hang up on me. I took the food back asking for my money back and the owner gave me back $32 from the bill saying $32.59. I have also heard that someone chipped a tooth from a stone in thier daal. Came here with a party of seven and ordered tons of dishes. The tandoori prawns were spicy and flavorful and the curries (Methi Chicken, Paneer, and Bhuna lamb) met my spice level (hot and flavorful). The only thing lacking was service but other than that, I recommended it. read more

We came here for a family dinner and were told the wait would be 30-45 minutes. We waited for over 90 minutes to be seated. The staff refused to move a table to accommodate us and kept insisting that another larger table would clear up soon. The customer service is horrible. Anyways, the food! Excellent. The kulchas, and the jaipuri kebabs stood out for me. I crave it. When you order kebabs you think of skewered meat, and their description needs updating on the menu. Says kebabs served with sauce. It's kebabs cut up, served in a sauce. Skip the Butter Chicken my European descendant friends! This is the best Indian dish I've had in Canada. Think of excellent chicken kebabs served in the sauce you get with malai kofta. You can't get that anywhere else. I had the best kulchas in Chandigarh. Better than the famous Amritsari ones. And this is the closest I've ever tasted to that. I suggest you rush to this place and enjoy the food, before the chef saves up enough to buy up some shite defunct restaurant and opens his own. (I know, I'm making that assumption they have the head chef on a work visa from India, don't hate). Food, awesome. Service, absolutely.....not good. The manager was there once when I went. He couldnt care less if we were there or not, too busy on his cell. I would expect a reasonably new establishment's manager would speak to clients etc. The decor is wicked. We have been there couple of times. I like their Bhuna Goat and Jaipuri Kofta's. Overall their food is good and try their tea after dinner. Only issue I have is their plaice is very tight and celling is very low, but if you are going their for food its not a big issue read more

Though I have only ordered take out, the service was ordinary. I called in my order for 2 orders of prawn curry. I had a hard time trying to get my order across to the person taking my order. I was told to wait an hour for my small order. Keep in mind that I have called 20 minutes after they have opened. One would assume everything was ready before the restaurant opened. Once arrived, I assumed my order was ready but I then waited for yet another 20 minutes inside the restaurant. The restaurant was quite nice inside. However the food was bland. The owner even gave us a tour of the kitchen, I was very impressed, extremely clean for a busy Saturday night, nothing was pre made they have small pans that they make fresh to order. We went here last night, there were 3 of us. I expected the guy dressed up to open the door for us, but he didn't because he was too busy watering the plants. I was kind of looking forward to that, since I had heard about that from other people. Anyways not a big deal. We step inside, and are WOW'd. It is very nicely decorated and the lighting was nice for dinner time. We sat down, were greeted by our waiter, we were given a small chat dish to start with which was complimentary. That was really nice. Then we ordered paneer makhani, bhindi (okra), and a chicken dish. The food was brought out on a cart and set up on our table, which I found a bit odd, but i guess it is practical for them since they also bring out these food holders with candles. We really enjoyed our food, it was very good! Then someone came by again after we were done eating, and took away our dirty dishes, and our leftovers were packed for us. We paid the bill, which was about $70 for 3 people. I would definitely come back here again with my family. It was nice, clean, and good food. WORST FOOD EVER, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. We came in around 9:30 pm November 21,2015, asked for a booth seat, sat down then the manager or who ever it was moved us for who knows what reason to some horrible corner table near the bar, We ordered the Fish Pakora and Paneer Pakora, after about 20 minutes the waiter came back to tell us they did not have Paneer Pakora. The Fish Pakora was horrible, tasted like it was reheated frozen fish. We were offered water, which was very cloudy and the cups were dirty. Sunny the bartender or whatever he is, VERY VERY unprofessional. I've never had someone speak in such a tone and manor to where I felt uncomfortable being around him. We ordered the Palak Paneer and garlic chicken it was horrible, not fresh what so ever. There was a table next to us who was there way before we got there who only got water and got up and left. The food we had was so bad we left after a few bites. The food was so bad my mom came home and puked. We later went to Tasty Sweets a professional establishment ordered the same thing and they had Paneer Pakoreh, fresh ones. Not to mention the Palak Paneer at Tasty was fresh. I only have Two good things to say about this establishment 1. The Massey Ferguson 135 tractor outside 2. The guy who opens the door for you The food is overpriced.
