Great food, great service and we had a blast watching people. We love the drinks there!

I was exhausted and starving after my super-early morning flight so decided to just have a quick lunch at the Westin hotel restaurant before my nap. The restaurant is under construction so this temp location looks kinda like a converted no-frills conference room. I wasn't really expecting a lot when I ordered the Caribbean Shrimp and black bean bowl - then it came to my table and looked a little small - but boy was I in for a treat! So it's a bowl of marinated Shrimp, black beans, mango salsa, and spicy Jamaican pepper sauce served over brown rice. That combination of sweet and spicy was a flavor explosion in my mouth! Like it had a REAL GOOD SPICY KICK and the sweet just evened it out. The seasonings on the shrimp - delicious. My real surprise though was that they somehow packed a pretty decent amount of rice into what looked like a tiny bowl. I kept thinking, "this is so good I wish the bowl was bigger " but somehow I kept finding more rice packed in there lol I'm definitely having this bowl again next time I visit read more

We're staying at the Westin and was looking for a quick snack. Farmers market flatbread was pretty good and the lettuce wraps weren't bad. Our friends said the shrimp salad and poke bowl were good. No one seemed blown away by their food, but overall worth the stop if you're looking to sit down somewhere for a quick bite. We checked into the Westin Las Vegas Hotel and Spa and needed to get a quick meal before the Enrique Iglesias' concert at the Caesar's Palace so we thought that it would be more convenient to eat at our hotel than try to walk in the 100 degree heat to a food court across the street. We got there around 5 pm and ordered fish tacos and a burger. However, time was running short and it was almost 6 and I wanted to get back upstairs to freshen up and change before heading off to the show. I guess if I was watching the time more carefully, I should have told the server that we needed to get out of the restaurant by 5:45 pm and so it was my fault. But the food was adequate and filled the bill but a bit on the expensive side. read more

Little known secret a block from the strip. Jake & Eli is found in the lobby of the Westin Hotel. I've dined for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - all excellent. Breakfast is pretty much standard with an omelette station and buffet. Fish Tacos, The Club great lunch choices with the Orange & Fennel starter salad. Dinner go Pan-Roasted Salmon or the center-cut Filet which are outstanding! Surprisingly they have an outstanding signature Bourbon cocktail menu, most notable an Old Fashioned that comes out in an enclosed glass case smoker - includes a slice of candied BACON! Side note; the hotel is undergoing renovation and I got one of the newly upgraded rooms. Beautiful. Nina the hotel MOD took very good care of us for the Super Bowl getting the volume on for the game (somehow it was off??!!). Josie was our server for the game and was al systems go! We came here for a very early dinner (5 PM). Free parking on the second level of the structure is very close to the restaurant. We were literally the only ones in the restaurant who didn't work there. Not a good sign. The restaurant itself is very pretty. As soon as we sat down, Arturo, our server, was at the table to get our drink order. Discovered there is no happy hour at J&E. Oh well. Not very hungry at this hour so we decided to share the short rib sliders ($12) and the 14 oz. rib eye ($38) with mushrooms and squash as the sides ($3 for each of the sides). The sliders had a bacon jam sauce that was delicious. The rib eye was cooked perfectly. And the sides were a very generous portion considering the price. And the service was excellent throughout. Situated in the Westin, and currently suffering because of an obvious relocation for construction, you think I would be giving this restaurant a break. It's no frills and I went in because it is in the hotel. I regretted the decision. I will forgive the ambience - the hotel is under construction - but the food was bad. Start with the good stuff. They still have a full bar and the lemon drop I ordered was well made, tasty, And a bit on the strong side. The staff were super friendly, Now the bad parts - everything else. I had the turkey burger with fries. The fries were luke warm, and the turkey burger tasted like it was one of those microwave heat and eats. The hotel is currently giving out coupons for "free" dessert - of which there is one - cheesecake. The staff "always" packs up the dessert to go. Probably wise as the number of angry returns would be significant. The dessert was practically inedible. Going to the gas station on the corner would have produced a better dessert. If you want a quick meal, go outside the hotel. This place isn't even trying. read more

My company made dinner reservations and we had a set menu. I absolutely loved my salmon with roasted mushrooms, asparagus ans mashed potatoes. It was perfectly seasoned and moist. For dessert I had tiramisu. Coming from NYC and practically living in Italian neighborhood it is NOT a tiramisu I'm used to eating. It was good but I felt custard was little heavy. Today i had mahi mahi for dinner. Again, mahi mahi was tender and juicy (because it is a very lean fish it can get very dry) but it was prepared PERFECTLY!!!! I love a little touch of micro greens on top of my fish which gave a powerful explosions of flavors in my mouth. Thank you for delicious meals. read more

Yesterday my boyfriend and I had our date night at Jake & Eli. We decided to participate in Las Vegas' Restaurant Week deals. For dinner it was $40 for a three course meal. My boyfriend had the lobster bisque, grilled NY strip and tiramisu. I had the orange and fennel salad, pan roasted salmon and lemon tart with raspberry. The salmon was tasty and flavorful and our favorite dish of the night. However, the salad was a little too tangy for my taste but the tart was delicious. According to my boyfriend the lobster bisque and steak was alright but didn't have any WOW factor to it. Yet, the tiramisu was great! We went around 7:00pm with no reservations and it wasn't busy at all, maybe because it was a Tuesday night. The hostess and our waitress were friendly and welcoming! I have to say I love the service here. The staff is friendly and always happy to have a conversation. I mostly drink and eat at the bar witch makes it easier to feel comfortable in a time like COVID. So the Staff is 5 star but I have to say that the food is more like a 3.5 star. I arrived late at night and due to a flight delay and I order a teriyaki rice bowl that comes with chicken. The dish looked good and had plenty of flavor with the green string beans and the mushrooms and the chicken was delicious but the rice was the worse part. The rice was way under cooked and hard. The night shift bartender (Jennifer- I think was her name) and manager came to me to check on how I was doing and I informed them of the issue. They apologized and since it was late and they were closing the kitchen and they offered to take care of me with another drink. Jennifer was working hard to make sure I was okay and happy with something. You don't get that kind of service every where and being in Las Vegas I thought they wouldn't care but they did. They offered to buy me another drink, so I asked for their "Not so old fashioned" drink. If you have never had an Old Fashion you gotta try it, but this old fashion is on the fancy side. The Jake & Eli Not So Old Fashion has a maple syrup flavor to it and comes in a smoke box. The smoke box infuses the smoke into the drink and adds something a little different. It's sweet but not sugary and has a great smooth Bourbon taste. It also comes with a twist of orange witch helps balance out the flavor. I have never had a drink with so much flair and flavor. I have found my new drink. Even though I wasn't a fan of the food the service was top notch and so was the drink and sometimes great service can make all the difference and here it did. This is the restaurant inside the Westin Hotel. I love the hotel, I love the staff and I love this restaurant. I've been getting the breakfast buffet every morning and it is amazing. I always love any buffet with an omelette station. It is fresh, it's wonderful and yummy. I also got a club sandwich the other night. Lightly toasted, and wow was that sandwich freaking great. It is so hard to make a club sandwich that makes me happy. It's always either too dry, bad bacon, wilted lettuce, too hard bread. I got a perfect sandwich. I really like the hotel and I will be back many times. Good work people. read more

Service was slow and there were very few people in the restaurant. The menu has pages of alcohol but only 2 pages of food. Not many options. We ordered wine ($15 a glass). We ordered rib eye ($35) and filet mignon ($28). All the sides are separate. The plates arrive with steak, a bone with I'm assuming bone marrow inside and half of a roasted garlic bulb. No bread. No anything to put the bone marrow or roasted garlic on. The sides were okay. Sides were decent price ($3). The server asked if the meal was "amazing, right?". The food was aggressively seasoned. There are no details in the mini menu to tell you this. I was scrapping off the peppercorns on the rib eye. My friend was scrapping off the pepper on the vegetable of the day. The homemade ranch stole my heart. The place was nice and cool (obviously great in Las Vegas heat), the server/bartender was very nice and attentive, it was clean, and the vibe was quiet and laid back. I was just at Jake and Eli's for dinner. It is in the lobby of the Westin if you aren't familiar it's right off the strip and across from Bally's. The food across the board is a better deal than most of the casino restaurants. I was staying at the Westin so it's very convenient in that case. They offer a broad array of choices with steaks being the specialty. Also since the bar area specializes in bourbon you can get most good brands of bourbon here in the bar or restaurant. The area is quite new build out as this area of the hotel used to be a casino. It is now Jake and Elis which is quite large. The area is typically not too busy at dinner time but at breakfast it can be as they have a very nice breakfast buffet which I also ate at as well due to staying at the Westin. The dinning options cover seafood, steak, chicken. The salad is quite good as it is more than a basic salad using flavorful escarole. The dressing tasted quite good on the salad as well. As for service I always had good service here. At dinner, at 4 breakfasts, although I always got the buffet at breakfast. To start with I tried the complimentary 3 shot assortment of bourbon it was nice to compare and contrast the 3 choices all of them good. Then on to the salad and main course. Having already been on the road for a week I actually just felt like seafood and went with the bronzed Mahi Mahi. It comes with what is called Tomato chow chow. I asked what that was and the waiter said tomatoes in a sauce. Still wasn't sure but liked the concept and it was definitely different than the usual steamed or grilled preparation. I was very surprised at how good that sauce was with the seafood. Excellent idea and one I had not seen before. I was getting full at this point and skipped dessert. But the service wasn't too bad food great and the prices you just cant beat. Note the three item sides are no longer on the menu as included. So, I was hesitant to write this review because I was not sure if my experience was in my own head or it it really happened the way I thought it did. This restaurant was the first restaurant I went to after I decided to change my diet. I checked out their menu online and did not see much of vegan/vegetarian options. So, naturally, I decided to call them just to see what options they have. I didn't want to be that person who just shows up expecting the establishment to have vegan options. I called and a gentleman answered and I explained that I had reservations and wanted to know if they had any vegan options or menu. He asked me, 'have you looked at our menu online?'. (weird question, right?) I said I had but wasn't sure of the ingredients. He then suggested that I could have the veggie burger because it is vegetarian(not vegan). Fast forward to showing up at the restaurant. I explained to the server my vegan diet and asked what on the menu I could have. I asked because I wasn't so sure the veggie burger was vegan. The server seemed to not really understand what vegan meant, but didn't say they didn't understand. Upon the chef getting involved, turns out the veggie burger has eggs in the bun and in the burger itself as a binder. Ok, fine. I will have the sauteed mushrooms and an entree salad. I asked the server if the dressing has anything that I cannot eat since I am vegan. She said no. Food comes out. My husband got a steak. Looked yummy. My mushrooms looked very good, however, the dressing with the salad looked very creamy. I asked the guy who brought the food if it was vegan friendly. He hesitated then said, 'Um, yeah yeah.. it is. It is just lemon juice and vinegar.' That's it... lemon juice and vinegar? Nothing else to bind it all together? So, I decided not to eat the dressing and took the salad home and used my own dressing. I think what bothered me about my experience was I felt that noone really understood what I could and could not eat, and wouldn't allow me to explain or listen to what I was saying. Again, I was REALLY trying not to be that person who thinks the kitchen should bend to his will and what he wants, but don't lie when it comes to what a patron can and cannot eat. Overall, the food(from what I ate and what my husband ate) was ok. The atompshere was casual. It is kinda right in the middle of the hotel lobby it seems so there were loud people coming from their hotel room elevators and people with suitcases hanging out on the couches. read more

I hate giving bad reviews, and this one is purely about the food, that I have had this morning. The servers were all totally lovely and tried to do whatever they could to make everything good. However. The corned beef hash I ordered first was so terrible I could not eat it. It tasted like regurgitated from last night. The poached eggs were over cooked and too vinegary. I understand a little vinegar in the poaching water will help the egg to stay in shape, but too much and the egg will taste of nothing else. The hash brown had no seasoning whatsoever and was fried in what tasted like old oil. The server was happy to replace it with something else and I chose the chicken waffles. What can I say, it was edible but the chef must have had a funny turn when he/she thought that rocket leaves and pickled onions would enhance an already perfect combination. Chicken waffles and syrup - a match made in heaven. Some funny ham, pickled onions and rocket leaves on top of heaven? Spoilt it!!! Still, awesome service by the waiting staff. Very pleasantly surprised. I stay at the Westin on a regular basis while in town on business. It's centrally located and close enough to the strip that I can enjoy the Vegas experience when I feel like it (rarely). For this trip, I had three days of meetings about 2 hours outside of Vegas and checked in dog tired for the last night of my trip. I didn't feel like finding a place to eat and doing what it takes to get there, so I decided to eat at this in-hotel restaurant for the first time. I was hesitant because, like a lot of Vegas places, due to covid they've severely retracted their menu offerings. I wanted to do a cob salad, but that's one of the options that went away. I settled on their Jake Burger because it seemed like the safest bet to get food that would fill me without being disappointed with an 'I'll give it try' menu choice. Turns out, it was a very good choice. The star of the show should be the burger patty and this place completely understands that. The slightly crunchy caramelization of the outside with the juicy interior was what the best of the best are. They know the '100% Angus beef' is marketing BS and make their burgers out of a blend of meats giving that rich, yummy, 'this is why I eat meat' flavor. It was balanced perfectly with the buttered and toasted bun along with the correct portions of toppings (lettuce, tomato, union, pickle). Lastly, everything (burger and fries) were fresh cooked and piping hot when they arrived. This is one of the top of my 'best burger I've ever had' list. No one helped us , offered to bring menus, or even say a word for 10 minutes on a dead Saturday night. We moved to the bar which was a total 180 and our bartender was so chill and super nice. He kept apologizing for the long ass wait for our apps from Jake & Eli & honestly if I had to wait 25 minutes for the elote and then another half hour for the spinach dip, they should've just comped us for waiting unjustly. f Honestly don't bother to come & save yourself the headache. Not the best experience staying at the Westin. First of all the food I've gotten here twice has not been great. I'm here until Saturday and it sucks having this place as my only option. I ordered a steak yesterday and they could not get my steak right. Ordered medium well and received well done. Gross. Tried contacting the food supervisor left a voicemail and still haven't heard back. Called the restaurant and no one answered. Then called the front desk and they just transferred me after explaining to them no one answered on the other line. Poor service won't stay here again. read more

Wow! This place is not your typical hotel resturaunt. With 1 and a half pages of whisky to taste I am in heaven. Most are North American, but they also offer Scotland and Ireland. A nice offering of wine and a full,bar. Now to the food! Yummy!! First off the menu has a smaller offering but there is something for everyone. Including a veggie burger. But! We started with Fresh fried pork tones with macchiato and chedder cheese dip. Oh my gosh! They were still crackling when they came to the table. Amazing! My dear husband and I wanted steaks! It had been to long. So we went with the 8 oz. Filet Mignon we added 2 sauces on the side, bourbon butter and house made steak sauce. Both are amazing. For our sides we also both went with roasted butternut squash hubby had mushrooms also. Our steaks came out with a roasted marrow bone and! Roasted garlic bulb. OMG! What a pleasant surprise. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Cut with a butter knife. Topped with the garlic and some of the marrow true decadence, plane it was perfect. With mushrooms heaven. There was enough mushrooms to share, also the squash we could have shared and been satisfied. The squash was yummy without being fussy. Our server Ashley was a wonderful people person! This place is a secret gem off the Strip. Located in the Westin off Flamingo, the place is open 24 hours and a great place to hang out. Classy though the atmosphere does not make you feel like you have to dress up. The staff is always friendly and courteous and they go above and beyond in customer service. The happy hours are very cool and at convenient times. The food, excellent!!! Especially the prosciutto pizza!! I have been going here ever since it opened and it is my favorite hang out place!!! read more

We came in on a Sunday night at 9pm, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. It had been a long weekend, and I wasn't up for leaving the hotel. Ordered the calamari, steamed buns, and fish tacos. The bread that came out was hard. I love bread, but I couldn't crunch my way through it. The calamari was somehow soggy even though we ate it right when it came out. The fish tacos were fantastic and the only thing I'd recommend from what we ate. The steamed buns were also hard and tasted like cardboard. The pork belly inside of it was dry and overly salty. The service and decor were great. I wish I wasn't as tired as I was. Would've loved to get a whiskey flight or an old fashioned. Unfortunately, we'll likely not come back. If we were to ever stay at the Westin again and we were desperate and hungry, then we'd probably just order something to be delivered. read more

For some reason there's a lot of hype regarding this new restaurant-- I found it awesome possum for the service and very reasonable for the buffet breakfast which included everything from an omelette station to smoked salmon to gluten-free bread. The waitstaff was impeccable, caring, kind, and so on top of it. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot water with lemon, orange juice, and ice water plus whatever else we needed, they brought with a big smile and politeness. It's quite relaxing eating here in a booth with the trendy lamps and mirrors around, sort of reminded me of the atmosphere of hipster Portland. It's not the 60's and in Las Vegas there's hundreds of great restaurants and dining options. Give them another try tomorrow. read more

Waiter was rude af. Making smart comment that bone marrow like I was stupid. Apparently you have to ask for bread. She just didnt seem like she wanted to wait on us. We was seated away from other tables that she also was waiting on in an empty restaurant. I asked for manager and waiter came back to table like it was all good. Didn't feel like walking or driving anywhere so thought I'd pop into the hotel restaurant to grab some food after a long day traveling. Prices seemed quite reasonable so went with an 8 oz filet with the three sides; wild Mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, and sweet potato. Also ordered a Manhattan to go with the steak. I always chuckle when servers offer a "sauce" for the steak as my first thought is that if it needs a sauce, it's not a good piece of meat. The presentation for every item is definitely minimalist (see photo) and laughed as the seasonal vegetables consisted of 3 pieces of asparagus with small pieces on ham cut and put on the plate. The sweet potato purée and mushrooms were plentiful in their own bowls. Cutting into the filet, I would say they were on the border of rare to medium rare which I much prefer over medium rare to medium so kudos to that. I wasn't too happy though when, after the first cut, the cut piece was still attached by sinew to the main piece in two different spots. While I was very pleased with the temperature, the taste wasn't there and for a couple of bites, it actually had a bit of a burnt taste which I assume is from searing it slightly too long. After the first two bites, I decided to add salt and pepper but that didn't have the enhancement effect I was hoping for. All in all, the food was average and the drink was tasty. The service was very good so do want to commend them on that. If you want a good piece of meat, there are a plethora of options on the strip that would be much better than here but it fulfilled the role of getting some food in the belly. read more

Horrible service. Let me preface this by saying I was not expecting a fine dining experience. I just happened to be staying in the hotel and not interested in leaving for dinner. I ordered a half Caesar salad and the Nashville hot chicken sliders. My sliders came out and about 20 mins passed...no salad. I verbally called over the manager, she didn't seem to hear me (although the guest next to her did). My server hadnt been back to check on me either. I finally flagged her down with my hand and she gave me the "just a second" finger, proceeding to bus a table before addressing me. I informed her that my salad never came out and she responded "...so do you still want it or??" No apology. I told her I did and it was our right away. The food was mediocre, glad I didn't pay more for it. About a second after my salad came out my server came to check on me. I finished the bland, undressed salad quickly and asked for the check when the manager came back. She didn't offer any discounts for the wait. I pulled out my card and paid as soon as my server arrived with the check. Spend your money elsewhere. Basic customer service in nonexistent here. read more

Went on a Thursday Night around 830. There were maybe 6 other tables filled in the whole place. They asked for my order right after I sat and I needed another min. 15 min late I had to ask a busser to get someone to take my order. Food came quick, but it was very under whelming. I got 3 BBQ shrimp ($14) and 4 Crab tots ($16). Both overpriced IMO. The tots were good but the shrimp was just 3 grilled shrimp with some BBQ squirted on top. They kept asking if I wanted more water, but they never came to refill. Just not the best experience all around. read more
