This deli is located in the Concourse, housed in the basement floor of the Comcast Center as one of many spots in its food court. It's personally my favorite of the different selections, with a lot of market-style foods (i.e., wraps, sandwiches, salads, and soups). My go-to order is always their Chicken Caesar Wrap, which typically is for $10.49 and is a great portion size for one of the most affordable prices in the Center City West area during work lunch periods. The service goes quick since it's deli-style, but the food is delicious every time and makes for a great meal. We ordered 3 corned beef specials ($11.99 each) which come with Swiss cheese (we subbed American cheese on one) and a nice crisp sliced pickle. Sandwiches were made with Russian dressing on the fresh rye bread then very lean corned beef (not a speck of fat or gristle) then delicious coleslaw and more lean corned beef, Russian dressing and the fresh rye bread lid of the sandwich. Sandwiches are pleasantly generously sized and we all are saving our second half for later. Thankfully they serve you your sandwich in nice plastic containers. Can't go wrong with anything from Jake & Max's Deli in the Comcast Concourse. I occasionally get the strawberry feta salad but I do love their sandwiches and wraps as well. I get the BLT or turkey club. They also always delicious and you definitely get your money's worth with the portion sizes. Today, I got the Italiano - grilled chicken with spinach and roasted peppers with Russian (go figure) dressing in a wheat wrap. It comes with a pickle and your choice of chips, fruit salad, broccoli salad or potato salad Or coleslaw. I choose the chips with all my sandwiches cause that's what we do in Philly. Lol. The food is just ok. It's a convenient spot to grab something quick and overpriced if you work in the area. My go-to for lunch anytime I'm in the area, and I work in the building! It's below street level in the Comcast Marketplace. Despite what other reviewers have said, I find the salad very fresh! They assemble the salad right in front of you as you select what you want. Choose your dressing and watch them toss the salad right before your eyes! Make your own or choose one of the many available choices! The buffalo chicken salad is my favorite! I don't like olives and every time I say no olives, they offer to substitute it with something else. EVERY TIME. Consistent top-notch service. Efficient and courteous! Lettuce was white, red vinaigrette dressing was sugary tasting, roll was most likely in a freezer for a while, butter was frozen. It doesn't matter because there are so few places to eat in center city Philadelphia workers have nothing to choose from. Our fearless leaders certainly allowed COVID to destroy this city. Grabbed a great salad here this afternoon while waiting for my train. The counter-service site was spotless and employees were attentive to health standards they focused on customer care were efficient and friendly service. The salad was very good, everything was fresh, crisp and tasty. I loaded it up too. You pay pet item after the bade price for your lettuce. I had a romaine and spinach mixture and topped it with strawberries, avocado, black olives, and chicken salad, all were generous portions. I had some balsamic salad dressing mixed it. All of this came with a long roll and butter for $10.12 great price. This was a perfect dinner. It is in a very clean food court at Suburban Station in Philadelphia. It was satisfying and I will be back. They would have earned a 5-star rating if they had to see through lids on the toppings containers. I've been working right next to the Comcast Center for almost 2 years! I frequently grab lunch in the food court and cannot believe my first time at Jake & Max's was just a couple weeks ago. Whoa. I love it. I guess I always avoided it here because the line is looonnnggg, but now I know it's because this place rocks. Don't let the long line deter you, it goes by v quickly and is also just worth the wait. There are two lines: sandwiches on the right and salads on the left. This place has everything you could ever want from a deli. Their turkey BLT panini is so delicious. Everything is also super affordable and the serving size is BIG! Dare I say my new fav sandwich spot nearby??? The staff is also super friendly and efficient which is a pleasure to deal with during the lunch time rush hour. This is one of my go-to lunch spots conveniently located right in Comcast Marketplace. At peak lunch hour there's typically a long line but it moves pretty quickly. You'll normally find that the salad line is longer than the sandwich line. Jake and Max's offers an extensive menu of salads, sandwiches, and soups. I recommend: lobster bisque, caprese salad, Cobb salad, and the turkey Panini. You can watch them prepare the salads and make-your-own beautiful bed of lettuce, veggies, and protein. The staff here is super nice and efficient, always serving with smiles on their faces. Without fail, they've always asked if I wanted a pickle. They work like a fine tuned machine. This is one of my go to spots for a lunchtime sandwich. Ten dollars may seem like a lot for a sandwich, but these things are overstuffed to the brim! My favorite is the turkey BLT panini. There's a good ratio of turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato and a lot of it. All sandwiches come with a side that range from fruit salad to potato salad. It's always fresh, but I definitely like some better than the others (the fruit can be hit or miss depending on what's in season). While I haven't tried them, there's always a big line for their salads as well. If you're in the Comcast Center for lunch, there's a lot of options, but this might be my favorite! read more

Pretty quick, reasonably priced place to grab a salad. The lines for salads are pretty long however, it moves pretty quick. When I do not want to have to go outside I always go here for a salad. I found a beetle in my salad, enough said. I took it back and they gave my money back but they admitted they don't wash their lettuce and that it comes "pre-washed". I have pictures of the beetle also stuck to the egg in my salad, never again. This was the second time i went there and the first time had a rotten piece of lettuce stuck to a good piece. This deli is super convenient if you work in the Comcast Center like me, and while sandwiches are pretty decent, I'm really not fond of the salads AT ALL. On a few occasions, the meat has really turned my stomach. Once, I ordered a spring mix with chicken, only to bring the salad back to my desk and discover that the chicken was grey. I immediately threw it out. I'm not sure what happened there, but I just couldn't get past it. I also ordered tuna another time, and it was so fishy and rancid. Another wasted lunch tossed into the garbage. And finally, I decided to give it one more try, and added only bacon as my meat among other vegetables. Again, opened my container only to realize that the bacon clumps were discolored, and looked less than appetizing. I just can't justify getting a salad here anymore. read more

Admittedly, I have never eaten here, with good reason. I was in the salad line.....it was a pleasant surprise to see a salad bar in a "conventional" marketplace. However, when I saw the same scoop being used for plant-based foods and animal-based foods (i.e., cheese and carrots, and residue of cheese in the carrot and vice versa; egg in the peas), I was so turned off that I had to turn around and settle for just fruit for lunch. I don't know how the woman with the scooper didn't notice the egg stuck all over her spoon......Maybe this was a bad day for them, but using the same scoop and cross-contamination is inexcusable ANY day of the week. Some people have allergies; some people are vegetarian, etc. This is the same reason I stopped going to the salad bar at Suburban Station. I found ham in my salad. NO THANKS! read more

Although the turkey reuben was very good, the counter person was so rude I almost left without the sandwich. He rolled his eyes when I asked for extra sauerkraut and I wanted 2 sides and he said " You know you'll have to pay for the 2nd one." Of course I knew that! The cashier was very friendly but the guy was a jerk! I don't know if I will go back. It was 12:30 on a Friday the Market Place @ Comcast was really busy with professional people, I stood behind a man in the "sandwich line", and I asked if he ordered he said no he was waiting, we looked around and the counter people were acting like no one was waiting. While we waited in line, we noticed the guys behind the counter talking amongst them, ignoring us as the line grew with a few more men. Then a young girl got in line, she would have been last in line, and the guy behind the counter took her order ignoring myself and the others! I throw my hands in the air and said "I guess I am not cute or young enough for this place". You lost my business; I walked away and went to Di Bruno's. Ok... So I just purchases a Caesar salad from this place (I know, it is very bad for your health) and I order it with bacon and onions. So they give me one scoop of bacon, one scoop of onions, yet charge me for two scoops of onions, at a price of $.40 a scoop. (The scoop of bacon was $.60.) I know, not much money, but I hate being ripped off/overcharged by any establishment for ANY amount of money. Most people there are good about making a fair salad, and never overcharge, but be careful and check your receipt (as you should always). I did go back (with salad uneaten) to show and complain, but the same woman who ripped me off in the pricing was the only one there to take the complaint. (It is one particular woman, and when she speaks to the cashier, you don't know what you are charged until you get a receipt.
