I waited for the paperwork to be done and the lady was on a personal call. 20 minutes went by and I'm still waiting so I asked for the manager and went to get the paperwork which was sitting on the printer for a while. Waited in the hot sun looked around the lot for minute before I went back into the building and asked where is my dam truck and why am I still waiting and walking back n forth trying to get my truck. The response I received when I asked what cause my transmission to go out was it came from dust and other issues . Now that response it letting me know I need to not asked him questions and get out his face. If dust causes a transmission to go out then everyone around needs a new transmission. Went in for an oil change only to be told 3 hours later that there was a "mix up" with my vehicle where my car was taken 15 minutes away by CarMax porter by mistake! They had to check the cameras to see what happened to my car. If that wasn't crazy enough, my car returned with my seatbelt cushion on the floor, pack of gum open with wrapper on the floor, and my car charger completely missing! CarMax blames Chevy and Chevy is blaming them. Still no solution. Joe and his boss the heavy set guy were really insensitive and unprofessional and had a "well it's not our problem" attitude. Beware of the EPAP. The environmental protection assurance program. They add it on to the price without telling you. It's a protection plan they force on you for the paint and seats. Google it and it shows Ohio State Law says they cannot force it on you. Its a money grab. It showed up on the quote for $1599.00. When we found out what is was we said we didn't want it but was told it was on the vehicle already. When we said we refused to pay for it the price dropped to $299.00. We still said no that we should not have to pay for something they added on. Was then told by the Sales manager that he didn't have to sell us the truck. I have been a loyal customer for years and have purchased 3 vehicles from this car lot. I have never been so disappointed in this dealer until today. I have a 2024 Chevy Trax Active that left me stranded on the side of the road on the way to my graduation at with 48,000 miles. I placed a call to the dealer and was told the only way the tow bill would be covered would be if it was a warranty issue that it could be from a mouse chewing wires or sugar in my tank. I was stunned, she also said I could just drive it in limp mode to the dealer again stunned. I did indeed drive it there and was told I need all this extra routine things done not why I was there in the first place. I get a call 5 minutes after dropping it off like I do every single time I drop the car off for anything trying to buy the vehicle but only if I trade it for another vehicle. I receive a new quote with even more things like tires and alignment. The tires are not even worn and the car is not out of alignment. I decide to call to find out why my car left me stranded as this is the one issue apparently I was not contacted for. It needed up being a failed turbocharger and it was covered under warranty. How does that fail at 48,000 miles? I asked for a loaner as I now have no car and was told because I have Progressive Insurance they cannot give me a loaner. All day all I was given was the runaround and excuses. As of today I will no longer be a Jake Sweeney Chevrolet customer or a Chevrolet customer period. This place is corrupt, please read so it doesn't happen to you, I will be contacting an attorney over this matter, I am currently going through a trial in life a chapter 13, after going to a few car lots I decided I was going to bring my business here, my salesman was an angel a very godly man and did everything he could to help me, they don't deserve him as an employees to be honest, so during a chapter 13 you have to get an approval letter from your trustee and their is a process but fairly fast process you just have to follow the steps that you agreed to, which I am changing my life so I have no issues following the rules what so ever, that's life, well long story short my salesman was going to be off from Thursday- Monday, he had to attend some marriage retreat or something I believe in that matter and he advised me that he sent the purchase agreement to me and my attorney before he left which he did yesterday, he advised me to come test drive the Camaro on Saturday and to ask for James Stanton/Sales Manager... and also advised me James is off on Fridays, so I was so excited and knew I was going to love this car so I went the following day which is today on Thursday I drove 45 mins after work just to be treated like total trash, I pulled up and someone was test driving the car and I heard them say we love and we will take it literally as soon as I pulled up to test drive it, so I went inside and said hey my salesman is out until Monday, however that Camaro was supposed to have a sold sign on it, he said oh it did I am not sure what's going on let me check, so after checking he sent his Manager James Staton out and he came out and said hey I can't hold cars, I said I understand that but I thought we made an agreement? he made me feel like I was a second class citizen and like scum on the inside, basically he was telling me without telling me that I am less than because we had to maybe wait a few days for the approval letter and he was selling it, as a customer I didn't matter and neither did their word as a business nor did their promises because I couldn't just purchase it right then, but they had my word, but their word was no good nor was their verbal and written words, because we made an agreement to wait for an approval letter, so they told me to stick around to make sure the other customers are not buying it which they purchased it, not the customers fault they probably had no clue, so I stood around waiting feeling publicly humiliated, so when I was leaving I let the other salesman know that helped me as soon as I walked in the door upon arriving, I was like this is disgraceful and disrespectful behavior, he said I totally agree with you. this is wrong, I literally have a text message and I will post the screenshot below I was promised verbally & written- I will be contacting an attorney this was humiliating bottom line and disrespectful and wrong, and I will not be treated or degraded like this as an individual, terrible and bad business practices, I wish this on no one, it would have been one thing if they said hey the car might be gone by the time this process goes through, but we can work out a similar deal, but however they did not, please read the messages for yourself, they made a promise, by calling me and also written. I went back to look at the truck again and was assured that everything was on the level. Was told that the truck needs nothing to be driven anywhere. So why is there water cascading down the inside of my windshield? Why have I not been able to drive it for more than 30 miles without it throwing a code? Why did I have to change out a bad wheel bearing a week after I purchased said "gem"? I'm told I can bring it in for them to look at it. Why? Oh, because they want more of my money. They won't fix a dang thing. The same people that missed all the issues the first time are somehow going to be able to fix it the second time? I don't think so. I've put 6K miles on it in 14 months. They kept her car for two weeks to say it was a loose wire. Guess what, happened again the next day... they kept it for another 2 weeks and yep, days later another issue. I had an oil change. Nolan was great. The oil change was quick however, I encountered a problem when I went to cash out. The small office space where the cashier is was running a diffuser. Not only was the smell horrible but it triggered an asthma attack. If you are serving the public, you need to understand that diffusers, air fresheners, candles, lotions, perfume, and anything smelly like that can trigger a major health issue for anyone suffering from asthma, allergies, migraines, and other autoimmune illnesses. Fortunately, my husband was there and I could leave and use my inhaler to limit what was happening, but some people don't have that option. I made an appointment to bring my truck in on January 31,2025 at 11:30 am prior to getting there, about 11:00 am I was called by Jake Sweeney asking me if I wanted to trade my truck in. I responded no, I rather pay off what I got. At 11:30 I brought my 2021 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss in for a routine oil change, well before any warning lights illuminated. My vehicle was operating perfectly prior to this service. To my astonishment, at 4 pm the same day, I received a call informing me that the engine was locked and requiring significant repairs at my expense. This is completely unacceptable. When I arrived, I was informed they'd need to keep my car for 3-4 days--info that should've been shared when I scheduled. I rearranged my work schedule for nothing. The technician I normally trust wasn't helpful and seemed indifferent to the miscommunication. This level of service makes me reconsider where I take my car. My husband and I have been shopping for a new SUV after totaling our suv. We have been planning on trading in my car and moving forward with buying a new or used SUV. The afternoon of 4/11/24 I saw a Suburban online at Jake Sweeney Chevrolet that I was interested in. My husband called and they said to call back, after 2 on 4/12/24, as the vehicle was being serviced. My husband then calls the sales person the following day (4/12/24) and told them we would be in after I was off work that evening. As we are getting ready to leave the house (4:15), the same gentlemen (David Shelton) calls and asks if we are on our way. We stated we would be there about 5, as it was almost an hour drive for us. Upon arrival, the guy comes up to us and states "Let's get this done and over with", at this point I look at my husband in complete shock, that he said that. I mentioned that we were planning on trading in my car, he then proceeds to roll his eyes. Again, I was just speechless. He asks that we pull our car around and meet him on the other side of the building, which we do. When we get out, he takes my car key, gets in my car to get the information, then meets us inside. When we got to his desk, he said "This is not going to be a good outcome". At this point, I was ready to leave, but my husband wanted to look at numbers as he knows I needed a new car. He starts asking questions about the amount I owe, if we can put any money down, then stated maybe we should try to look at a different car. We then tell him no, that we drove an hour to see about this suburban. He starts plugging things in and trying to, I guess do his job, but then realizes he lost the keys to my car. I just laughed as I could not believe this was happening. Once my keys were found and they were able to take it back to get an offer, the guy says "I hope you guys planned on putting quite a bit of money down." I said "Well we can put some money down, but we would like to see what we can figure out" He then states, which this was what did me in, "Honestly it's the end of the day and I am ready to get out of here, so maybe this just is not the right vehicle for you" I could not believe what was actually happening. Of course, after dealing with this, my husband was not happy with the way he was speaking to us and they exchanged a few words and we left. I was almost in tears, because I was just so frustrated and embarrassed that he spoke to us that way. We may be young, but we are probably better off than most people our age or even older. I could have easily went in there and paid cash for the suburban, but am dead set on trading in my car, as we don't need 3 vehicles between the two of us. Please keep in mind I was not the one buying a car, but I was still treated very well here. My best friend was looking to purchase a New Corvette and preferred Orange. Well I found an Orange one on Jake Sweeney's web site, but no pictures. We walked in and was greeted immediately and asked if we could be helped. I said we were there to see the orange corvette and was told by one person they didn't have one, but the manager spoke up and said it was still down at the detail shop, so we load up in an SUV and drive down to see the car. My friend was very impressed with the color and options of the car, it was a 7 speed manual which he also wanted, so easy deal. We drive back they haggle for a few, which is a must in my opinion, but hey at some point just make the best deal. My friend got an amazing deal on the car, then they had to do paper work, so we left and went for coffee down the street and to pick up a new radar detector (a must in this car). When we got back the paperwork was ready and he went to sign. Of course they tried selling all the add on stuff that you don't really need, but my friend did get an okay price on the extended warranty. Should have paid less and I did try to help there, but due to some miscommunication between him and I, he paid a slightly higher price then he should have. Only about $300, but still. Overall a very good business deal and my friend is happy and his new Corvette drives amazing. Makes me a wee bit Jealous. read more

Absolutely horrific experience and no one is apologizing for the mistakes, unprofessional behavior, and unauthorized work done on my car. am highly disappointed in the customer service experience. I scheduled an appointment for a tune-up and a diagnostic test on February 9th. This was my second time requesting the diagnostic test because they didn't properly diagnose the issue the first time. Two years ago I was originally told I had a bad battery and since then had to replace a brand new battery three times injust under two years. The car was dropped off by my father February 9th at 9:30am. In the original form that I filled out to schedule the appointment I gave my correct contact information. Not once was I called for any update, nor did they request my information, insurance, warranty, nothing was requested from me I called beforehand and spoke to Jess and gave my contact information and explained that I am having my father drop off my car and would like to be called before they started work on it. Matter of fact in two different conversations with the service department to call me before they start working on my car. I called on the 9th and the 12th. This is one of the most horrific car experiences I've ever had. All I am trying to do is figure out what is happening to my car. I am having the absolutely horrible experience with the service team. Mike was absolutely ignorant over the phone with me. Who in the speaks to customers saying "Hey lady, what do you want." After I ask the status on the Camaro and identify myself. He didn't even realize I was the owner of the car. I originally requested a tune-up and a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with my camaro. They authorized repairs themselves without speaking to me, stating that they called my father because he dropped it off for me. On serveal different occasions I called and gave my contact information on the 9th and 12th. Not once was I called, they took an old number from a previous service from 3 years ago and listed as my current number. Mike is supposed to be an advisor but has no communication skills. He called me everything but my name. And when I got upset and addressed it that my name is Ms. Hodge he hung up on me. The supervisor Mr. Caldwell didn't take nothing I said seriously. This is a nightmare, I cant trust them while away working to provide any type of decent customer service. How is it legal to work on someone's car when it wasn't approved by the registered owner. They didn't even do the service I requested. All I'm getting is excuses why they did what they did instead of an apology. When Mr.Caldwell stated they called 5132908864 number and spoke to someone. I stated he was lying, and he was because that number is no longer in service. What happened was they took my father's information, instead of requesting my information. All Mr. Caldwell or Mike had to do was apologize, and state they made a mistake. They talked to my father, but not once to me until I called. And instead of resolving or requesting my information all I'm getting is excuses and arguments. This is a true nightmare. I am flight attendant and only in Cincinnati so many days. Something that was supposed to be only few hours of work turns into over a week and they still didn't do what I requested and never got my permission to do anything else.Why should I be responsible to pay for something I never even spoke to them about and get hung up on. I have every right to upset, about my car. When Mike Ohler wasn't even smart enough to get my signature or talk as an adult. When requested the appointment I submitted all the correct information and called several times giving them my information and explaining the situation. Back when my wife and I bought our brand new 2019 Chevy Traverse we bought into their extra coverage warranty for an extra $2-3k. One of the perks of this warranty was that the dealer would provide a rental if my car was being repaired for an extended period. Well, recently, we had the car in for service for an oil change. They mentioned they found a oil leak in the engine and would need to be serviced and is covered by the manufacturers warranty so there would be no charge. Unfortunately they did not have the parts, so they ended up ordering them. A week or so went by, and the parts came in. We got an automated text message from the dealer to call to set up the appointment, so I called to set up the appointment. They said the repair could take up to two days. I was like OK, and told the representative I will need to get some kind of rental. I told her my extra warranty says you would provide a rental to me if my car is being serviced, and she said "oh, we don't have any rentals at the dealership to lend out." immediately I said, " don't you work with any outside rental companies?" She said "Yes we do but I have to get approval for my manager and to check your paperwork on file to make sure you have the coverage." I said okay. She then asked if she could call me back after she speaks with her manager and said we will get something set up. I said OK. So the day ends and I don't hear anything from them, and I kid you not, this happens two more times the exact same way few couple days later. After the third time I decided I was going to go up there to the dealer and talk to them myself. I drive up, talk to one of the ladies and service, and asked for a manager. The lady says that the manager is in a meeting right now and you are welcome to wait or we can give you a call back. I told her I would wait. I waited in the waiting room for about 20 minutes. Finally the lady in service and the manager come to the door and greet me in the waiting room. I tell a service manager that I've tried 3 times trying to set up this service for our car and keep getting the same response when I bring up that I need a rental that they have to speak with their manager before setting anything up. He tells the service lady to go ahead an set him up for a rental and services. I asked them if they could set me up with a rental about the same size as my traverse and they said they could try but is not guaranteed. So they said that they were going to plan for service next Tuesday and get with a rental company and give me a call back. I have received NOTHING, it is now Thursday. No call, text, email, carrier pigeon... NOTHING. I am starting to think we were scammed into buying this extra coverage. read more

I bought a 2020 Chevy Trail Boss a little over a year ago from this dealership. A week ago I had appointment to get the passenger side rear tail light fixed because it had quit working out of no where. I waited in the garage for around 2 1/2-3 hours and was never once told that there was an actual waiting room. When the service advisor finally came up to me and said my truck was done, I noticed the same tail light was still not working. That's when I was told that they didn't have the part that was needed in stock, which was a wiring harness, and that it would most likely be the following day when it would arrive. I didn't receive a call at all. I ended up calling Monday to check on status, a it was there. I went in today (exactly one week later) and when checked in told them I also needed oil change. I was called 4 hours after drop off saying it was ready. I go to pick up and the light was working, but no oil change. At this point it was almost comical. I call service director and get absolutely no help. Was told I could schedule another appointment for oil change, and that I could do that through anyone on his service team, as if I was unaware of that. Mind you i had made him aware of the fact that I was starting a new job this week, and I had already been there twice in the past week, and he was aware of all of the troubles I was having with them already. I am still mind blown by the lack of customer service that they provided. I am a single father, this was my first time buying new, and I have never felt so under appreciated and even disrespected, and especially after purchasing an almost fifty thousand dollar vehicle. My sister and her husband bought a $50,000 Silverado truck from this company and within a few months the power steering failed. They had paid for all the extra warranties it should've been a quick couple hour repair. They kept the vehicle for over a week did not provide a loaner vehicle told them they would have to rent a car and they would get reimbursed then told them oh it only covers one day of rental car and they would have to pay the difference out of pocket. Absolutely ridiculous I would not recommend ever buying a vehicle or getting a vehicle serviced with this company. There's no integrity left anymore. Complete waste of my time. I was looking for a specific vehicle. They called to verify my appointment and I specifically asked if that car was still there. Once I arrived at the time THEY scheduled, the sales guy was out to lunch. After waiting for him to get back, they tried the, "that one is sold, but we have this other one". My best friend has just been here at this dealership. I've warned her the outcome and what she'll be looking forward to. I've been through these too many times. She's always telling me to think positive. I'm really sorry but being positive while attending to a dealership and the outcome what it may be denied or much more than there is with dealing with a salesman and managers corresponding with finance companies for large amount of down payments is beyond her. The salesman has played games of cat and mouse with her regarding of trading her car and down payment of $500 of the salesman choosing a car for you that has mechanical issue. Not you choosing the car you want. Come back with you have a much larger down payment more than $500, . Ain't y'all the same !? All dealership are all the same no matter where you go. The finance companies do their job for them and they make all the decisions based on finance companies and not the dealership themselves. You're better off going to a buy here pay now lot than going to bigger companies such as this when it's always all about the money. Your job is YOUR CREDIT! Regardless it may be. This review has nothing to do with a car buying experience but service. Service is terrible. No other way to describe it. Turned my car in February 17, wasn't ready until almost a month later(wheel bearings, ball joint, oil pan gasket swap, alignment). Almost little to no updates on the vehicle. Said it would be ready at this time. Something happened with the parts, it got pushed back, no update for that. Paid $160.00 for a diagnostics tests, still came back with my check engine light on. I asked why is my check engine light on... he says you didn't say check it. I said I paid for a diagnostics year didn't I? He says that's to check the grinding noise you talked about. He then proceeds to give me a paper from the day I bought my car in that proves they checked it, he then ran another another diagnostics test right then and there to show the codes haven't changed. If you ran the diagnostics, got a few codes, why wouldn't you tell your customer? You told me about everything else that racked up a 3,000 dollar bill including an 85 dollar lug set and an extra charge because the technician had problems removing the original lug nuts despite it being his job. Bought a warranty when I bought my vehicle, that also didn't get honored because I didn't tell them. When I first came in there, it was a little hectic. I asked the guy who's name should I check the vehicle name under? Mine or my wife? He said it doesn't matter. I said "I'M JUST ASKING FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES". STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. read more

Horrible Buying Experience! Absolutely horrible buying experience, unethical sales practices and they will lie to you to get you to purchase a vehicle. I was sold a lemon at nearly $7,000 over its Kelly Blue Book value. My sales person was Tyler Farmer. He told me that service was included which is a lie. They had just received the vehicle they sold me as a trade in. I do not believe that it was ever looked at by a mechanic. The vehicle was running fine until I brought it in for an oil change with Jake Sweeney and now it runs horribly. Their service department manager told me that they didn't feel like my car was safe to drive but if I wanted them to look at it I would need to sign paperwork that I would be responsible for the charges if the repairs are outside of the warranty. The warranty literally covers nothing. When I came in to have my vehicle serviced I also talked to a sales manager about refinancing my vehicle to lower my payments. Instead of discussing refinance options - which I found out later is because there are none since the value of my vehicle is so much lower than the purchase price - he tried to sell me not just one, but TWO additional vehicles. I do not recommend making a purchase with them. They are shady. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am prepared to take legal action if an acceptable solution cannot be met. read more

We have had multiple problems with this dealership. When we first bought the vehicle the ended up selling us the wrong car which made a big headache for me. The check engine light has been coming on and off for the past month and a half and I have brought it in 5 different times for them to fix it yet they still haven't. Also, yesterday when I went to pick up my vehicle after it has been in service for 5 days, the check engine light was on when I got into the car. The car I purchased was very specific car and that is what brought me to jake Sweeney. I bought January 9, 2015. Brad Molholn (can't remember the proper spelling) knew that the car was black and had a tearing wheel. That's about it but I knew I wanted this car. I signed the paper work on the car with John Williams. He pursued me into purchasing the extended elite warranty by say it covered anything that would go wrong excluding rims and tires. He told me anything on the interior and it even included if needed new brakes. A day or two after I purchased it received a call from Brad saying I sign the wrong paperwork work for my loan. They insisted on me coming in that day. I work and cannot drop everything and drive 40 min out of way to sign paperwork they messed up on but I did and they told me they would fill my tank. They did not do that. So fast forward to today I brought my car in because the headlight got water in it and didn't work. Come to find out I was not covered and they wanted to charge $1100 for a new one. So went to John and went over the warranty. As he was giving me the same talk I was reading the fine print. I pointed out that over half of what he said was not true. He read it and reluctantly agreed. I had to cancel my warranty based on lies. read more
