Overall, I didn't have a very good experience. In the end, the dealership ended up servicing my key request (versus using an unreliable 3rd part vendor). They comped the full price. I understand people are busy, but as a customer all service professionals should extend common courtesies when a customer enters your place of business. The service professionals should make it a point to return a customers call. I have been to several auto repair shops and customer service has gotten bad everywhere. This place is by far the worse. Unorganized and terrible communication. I will take my business and spend my money where I feel appreciated. Don't worry about calling me back. 0 stars is what they deserve after spending $7900 on my daughter's 2015 jeep Cherokee to find out the a/c still isn't working. I bring it back and they act like they don't know me and after 4 days of having the vehicle they tell me a fuse blew and the cost to replace it was $279 for a $20 fuse. I tell them I'm not paying that for a fuse, then they mention I have some credits b/c of the $7900 I just spent ($300). They replace the fuse and the air is still not working. So they say (not my service advisor) that there's something that opens and closes that allows either hot or cold air to come through the vents that needs replaced. I asked how much the item cost and how long before it can be completed. I told them to just get it ready for me to pick up, bc I don't have time to wait for the non response. While there to pick it, I find the right side of the dashboard bottom just hanging out. I called back after not hearing from them and I guess the young lady checked me and said - did the other service advisor tell you that the jeep needed this part replaced before the a/c would work properly. I said he did say that the part needed to be replaced, however I didn't know that the part in question would keep my ac from working properly. So long story short, after spending almost $8 grand on this vehicle, we still have no a/c and the service advisor still has not returned my calls or responded to my 2 voicemail messages. I should have read the reviews before expecting something good. I was charged $399 for one tire. When I had it replaced, the bill in my hand was for $388. When I got home I opened the billing sent to me via email and saw that 3% was added due to me using a credit card. The service rep said she told me, and that there is signage stating this fee. I wasn't informed, and I don't read every sign on service desks. Seems like a simple "Here's what we're charging you PLUS 3% would be in order here." However after reading other reviews, I understand why they don't. The worst part is that these reviews don't do a bit of good. Had my 2015 Jeep Cherokee with 175,000 miles towed to Jake Sweeney for a blown brake line on the front, very obvious and simple repair (I ended up doing it myself). When they sent me the Repair Estimate it was over $8400!! They want to change all 4 brakes, the back were fine and I think they only took off the front tire with the blow hose because it was nearly impossible to get off while the other 3 were easy to get off. They wanted to replace Differential Seals, Valve Covers, and Timing Cover Gasket because they were "Wet". They were wet with brake fluid. Total for those repairs ~$2,600 Wanted to Mount and ballance tires, alignment, oil change, differentila fluid change, spark plugs, for ~$1,600. They stated that the Control arms had torn bushings, which they did not! With 175,000 miles there are signs of wear, but nothing is torn and they are functioning well. That was $2,030!! I found a truck listed as new on their website showing only 22 miles on the odometer. Since I'm out of state, I handled negotiations over the phone. When they sent me the offer sheet, it suddenly showed 1,500 miles. Before finalizing anything, I asked for a photo of the odometer -- it actually had over 3,000 miles. Only then did the salesperson casually mention that their "service department used it." This was never disclosed upfront, and the mileage on the offer sheet was clearly inaccurate. After I pressed for more details, I also learned that the factory warranty had already started two months earlier, something else that was never mentioned. On top of that, they tack on a mandatory $899 fee for an "EPAP application," which they claim can't be waived because it was "already done." The whole experience felt deceptive and lacking transparency. I was close to signing paperwork before realizing how much information was being withheld. We have been lied to multiple times. My car has been damaged on a factory recall repair. Scratches, apholstry, buttons broken, visor broken, grease all over the ceiling and apholstry not put back in place properly. On a tire rotation the reversed my pressure sensors and now they don't read for the correct tire! Terrible care, rude attendant trying to blame me for the damage they caused! They didn't do what was put in writing in two places to get fixed! They insisted they were making us wait for the person that did the original repair to fix his mistakes. Well, he caused more damage. I have bought plenty of cars out of state and this dealer is the most crooked I have ever dealt with. Originally called in about a certain Lexus right when it was posted. I was the first buyer to call and was told to call back tomorrow since it was late. Then I was referred to another salesman named Matt due to the other salesman being out of the area which I valued at first. I talk to Matt who was great and not his fault at all in which he said to leave a deposit. Not even an hour later he tells me the car didn't pass inspection and will need to be wholesale to carmax. I told him I'd pay even if it was in bad condition and would waive any liability. I was told I could buy the car from carmax or he'd let me know where the car would end up. That same night I get a dm from a guy on reddit telling me he's buying the car. I was baffled and said the car would be wholesale. I was put on a goose hunt for days and then find out literally just today on 4/5/25 that the car was sold to someone else after the fact I was willing to put a deposit and purchase the vehicle. I am beyond frustrated and finally got a hold of a sales manager today who tells me word for word "another sales manager sold the car and didn't communicate that to the rest of us." Where is the communication?!?! He tells me this happens all the time in business. I tell him I don't know what illegtimate shady business practice you run, but that's very unethical and he kept trying to give me excuses. Car was posted on 4/1/25 and I was the first to call. Literally told no one else had called yet, but myself. Had it not been for the other buyer telling me what's going on, I would have never known. Because you see every time they tell me they fix the problem, then when they do not - they claim something else was the problem and find ANOTHER way to rake you for money. I brought my car in for service and while I was there I wanted to see about the paint that was chipping from body work that was done in April. instead of talking Internally chuck told me I had to call the body shop myself. I spoke to David and he said he would have the service department bring the car down to take a look and see what is needed. My dad showed up to pick the car up and he was told the car was going to the body shop for repairs and it would be a couple days. No one told me anything about that so I called the body shop where I was told the car has never been seen and he didn't know what I was talking about. I tried calling multiple times to figure out where my car was and no one answered so I had to leave work early to drive up where Chuck was rude and acted as if this was my fault that I called the body shop as he instructed. My jeep patriot was serviced because my front lights continued to come on and the car would start on it's own. I was informed that the key needed to be replaced and I was charged over 250.00 for this. I picked the vehicle up when notified it was ready and paid the bill. When driving home, I noticed that my car radio would not come on nor was I able to play any CD's . I notified the service department immediately and was told I could have to pay for this to be fixed. My problem with this is that the radio was working just fine before it was serviced for the key issue. I feel the service department needs to pay for this. read more

My husband has had 3 Jeeps in 20 years and this is the first time we have bought from Jake Sweeney. It will be the last. He bought a 2 year old used Grand Cherokee last summer, and he has some type of service agreement but they do not cover anything. The entire shock system went out. In a jeep- that is not good. First, you a schedule an appointment, like any dealer service department. However, when you drop it off, they tell you it will be at least a week before they look at it and they do not provide a loaner. I don't think they understand that they can plan their service around appointments because with appointments, they know who is coming?! After several weeks of not having a car, it was finally ready. Went to pay, and they told my husband it was covered. He asked "are you sure?" And they said yes. And handed him the keys. A week later he got 3 calls in a day, with the third harassing him for not returning their calls and that he owed several thousand dollars. I requested a price for a vehicle through TrueCar from this dealership on Thursday, May 27th. The price I received was in line with those I received from other dealerships and was stated to be good until June 1st. I was contacted by Kenneth Haro regarding this vehicle. We spoke on Thursday and then again on Friday. I agreed to provide a deposit for him to hold the vehicle until I could come see it on Saturday morning. Ken was nice enough to go in on his day off to take care of this for me. After making the 5 hour drive to see the vehicle Saturday morning, I took it for a test drive, and then sat down with Ken to discuss the deal. When reviewing the paperwork, I noticed that the sales price was not what I received from them on Thursday. When I questioned it, Ken went to talk to his sales manager. When he came back, they had made only a slight adjustment to the price, but it was still significantly higher than the price they had previously given me. After a couple more trips to speak with the sales manager, Ken said there was nothing more he could do and I would need to speak with the sales manager directly. A little while later, the sales manager came over and sat down. He rudely stated they would not honor the price I had received. I asked him why, and all he had to say is "things change." I pointed out that the price I was given was supposed to be good until June 1st. He again just refused to meet the price without any further justification. I was finally fed up and left without the vehicle. I know the reason why they wouldn't sale me the vehicle for the quoted price was because the vehicle was hard to find and they knew they had several other people interested in it and that they could get more money from them. I ended up wasting more than 12 hours of my day, with 10 of those being driving. Despite the fact that Ken was very kind and seemed genuinely upset about the situation, I will NEVER do business with any Jake Sweeney dealership in the future and would urge anyone thinking of doing so to use caution and be aware that this dealership is dishonest and can't be trusted. I took my truck in to have the hand break fixed and to find a leak that was occurring when the truck sat. The estimate came back to be just under 10k which included services that had already been done if they had just looked into their service system. The mgr also broke my grip handle when trying to climb into the truck do to his weight and refused to replace it. The truck was also returned dirty where the hand break work was completed. They never found the leak. I ended up finding it later. A hose clamp on the back of the engine was loose causing a coolant leak as the engine cooled down. I would look to take your vehicle elsewhere! read more

My 80 year old Mother in-law purchased a vehicle from Jake Sweeney Chrysler. She had the car serviced on a regular basis with no issues. This time she had her car towed in for service. It appeared that the battery was dead. Once it was diagnosed it was determined that the battery needed to be replaced as well as the alternator. The vehicle was dropped off on 7/17/24. Communication was close to nil. When we inquired, we were told that it needed and alternator that had to be ordered, and it would be about $450.00 thus far to have the battery replaced. When asked why such a high price, we were told that the labor to install the battery was $200.00 (which was listed as the labor rate. We opted to have the car towed to a legitimate, competent and honest mechanic. He was able to repair the car in just a few days, and also let us know that the battery needed replacing, but the alternator was fine. He also noted that the connection to run the diagnostics wasn't securely fastened. Hence to say we will never do business with this establishment again, and will be sure to warn others. read more

I'm someone who likes to look at cars for what they are. Yes I'm a girl but i know the difference between a head gasket and a fuel pump and know what both do. Here the salesman for the most part did listen to what I wanted, and what I was looking for. But instead of going out on the lot and looking, he was looking things up online, to see if they were on their lot or the other locations lots. I mean I understand and respect making sure you have what I want, but I had specifically mentioned 2 cars I saw on the lot that I wanted to look at, that I had already seen online, hence why I was there. He did show me what I wanted eventually, but then was trying to show me higher than my budget cars that I really wasn't interested in. Yeah they had some cool features and he knew what I was looking for, but they weren't worth the extra money. I'm waved off as though I'm trespassing when I pull in the garage door that THEY opened for me. The waving guy says that Jeep's go to the building next door. "Next door? You're kidding right? I have an appointment and they don't take appointments". "We don't". "I'm confused then, I have an 11:30 with Todd Glass". "I'm Todd Glass, but we don't take appointments". "I have an appointment". "We haven't take appointments in 3 years..." I quit listening, expressed my displeasure with his lack of knowledge and his reflex to be confrontational and rigid rather than realizing he's out of the loop and I have limited information, zero ability to gather information, and low patience. When you take advantage of people that don't know and stack on changes that are not necessary (but because of my ignorance I have to take you at your) you make your customer feel violated. When I left JS today I felt like I had actually been mugged. They don't care about the damage they do when they make people spent money they don't have. Which in the long run loses business for them because I will never return and will not buy my new Jeep there. To add insult to injury, they put my license plates on for me (i just moved here) and they put the registration stickers in the wrong places and that is a ticketed offense so I had to go buy new ones. I'm honest to a fault so I don't understand dishonesty. That is the reason I'm writing this. Do not get your car serviced here!!!!! Part 2 The whole story started when service consultant Robby did almost $500 of unauthorized work to my car. I came in for a headlight change and and oil change. When I came to Zak Sweeney for help he basically told me too bad. I even had a receipt for something that had recently been done that they claimed needed to be done. (They did agree to give me the cost of that back, about $120). I decided to go to the BBB for help. Zak and the service manager, Chris would not even consider some kind of negotiation that we could both live with. They instead did 2 and 3 way calls with me to try to scare and intimidate me. BBB can not make a company do the right thing. I then contacted The Ohio Attorney General, who's office turned the complaint over to a negotiation firm call AUTOCAP. They can not force a company to be honest either. The good news is the Attorney General's office told me complaints like this is how their office is alerted to a problem, so always file a complaint on any business that you feel has unfair or unlawful business practices. I also filed a complaint with the NAACP of Cincinnati. I would not recommend the business to anyone especially if you are a senior citizen like myself and count on the integrity and truthfulness of the people who work there. *****FYI-The response from JS was from my initial *****complaint in December, and then they did *****nothing. Go some place else. Run away from this dealer. I Went to Jake Sweeney to buy a NEW pimped out Ram Promaster custom Conversion Van with less than 500 miles on it. They sent pictures, picked me up at the airport, had the van up front and running when I got there... Assured by the salesperson the vehicle had passed their "mechanic's inspection" (AGAIN NEW VAN) and all was perfect with this van, I insisted on taking it for a quick spin around the block before purchasing it and driving 700 miles back to VA. I found a busted door handle, an unprogrammed FOB, wrappers and juice boxes from another family's day trip... and most of the headsets missing... still nothing big, but then it took 30+ mins to tell me they couldn't fix the door, over an hour in finance(we sent bank paperwork the day before), and then we waited for the van to be cleaned... getting out of the dealer shortly before 1pm. As we were walking out the salesperson LIED TO MY FACE and said the vehicle only comes with ONE KEY. But now it's pretty much 1pm, and I have 700 miles to drive so I can show this PRIZE of a van to my anxiously awaiting family.... Until I drive a couple hours down the road and the AC CRAPS OUT... I stop at another Dodge / Ram dealer to beg for help only to be told that the service people are gone for the rest of the weekend... and I have a choice to make, keep driving or go back and wait until the service dept opens back up... after the extremely long hold at the dealer where nobody took my call, I decide to take the sales persons advice they gave me for the door handle "take it back to VA and have it repaired under warranty..." except unbeknownst to me the AC had been modified as part of the conversion... still under a warranty but not a ram warranty, ao they refused to pay and didn't really want to look at the van.... and not Jake Sweeney's problem anymore... which is why they haven't returned my call YET. I finally left a message on Tuesday that said "Hi I bought a Promaster custom van on Tuesday and I have a couple questions, could someone please call me?" It's Friday night, my new vehicle has been in the shop all week (third shop bc Ram refused to work on the custom work)... I thought I was getting a great deal - a NEW late model family van with all the upgrades, and a 3year 36,000 mile warranty... but turns out Jake Sweeney sells crap, doesn't call their customers back, and leaves them hanging. BTW - they advertise that you get a year of Sirius XM Radio - didn't get that either. We did get TWO MECHANICS RAGS stuffed down the engine compartment between the ac lines and the engine - glad it didn't start a fire. Once it's all fixed, it will be an amazing vehicle, and I'll be glad we got it, but I'll still be mad at Jake Sweeney and the sales team that sacrificed their integrity to sell a $50,000 van and (hopefully) unintentionally risked almost setting the vehicle on fire by leaving the rags in the engine compartment. Good luck to those who shop at Sweeney... triple check your purchase, don't trust their sales team, and plan on wasting most of your day whilst they drive around feigning as-if they are working on your concern, but truthfully wasting your time, resources, and risking family assets by selling faulty van. Update 7/06/20 Finally got the van back after a month in another Ram dealership for the A/C. I called Jake Sweeney and the SAME salesperson (Ashley) answered the phone.. I told her "the description of the vehicle stated it comes with a year of XM Radio, please turn it on." She put me on hold, then came back on and said "the XM was initiated when it was put on our lot, so you'll need to purchase XM and send us the receipt" (I laughed). Jeep Sweeney had my car since October 28th, 2017. I just got my car back February 1st, 2018 and two days later MY CAR IS STILL BROKEN. I contacted the dealership about one of their listings online. I was responded to right away, but then took two days for a reply. That reply was saying "I'll follow up with you shortly". No response for another 16 hours and that was after I had sent another email. The information they gave was what I already found on the site and wanted to know when I could come in to talk figures. I thought "well that was a jump". I went to pull the car up one more time to look at it and it was gone. So I had to email again to find out if they even had it. Took two more emails to get a response to be told "looks like it sold". I dealt with the same person in all communications, but won't call him out here. If this is how they handle simple email communication I'd be hesitant to work with them on any legal paperwork. read more

If you're going to do business with this dealership then you should understand that you are in NO WAY receiving a "lifetime power train warranty" provided by Jake Sweeney, UNLESS you do EVERY.THING. With Jake Sweeney. This means, tire purchase, air filter replacement, light replacements, EVERY.THING. And the mark up on all of these things is UNREAL. $99 for full synthetic oil change $60 for an air filter to be replaced... the list goes on. The sales reps will pitch this wonderful perk of the added warranty, but the service reps will never tell you that by declining their "suggested" repairs, you've just voided your jake Sweeney lifetime warranty. One of their courtesy vehicles was being driven buy a menace to society at 10:00 A.M. 5/23/19. Ironic that something intended for courtesy could be driven by such a discourteous person! Cut me off in a most dangerous way after speeding by at 90 miles an hour at the beginning of an exit on Norwood lateral after careening through the center median. This person should never be allowed to drive a company vehicle! BTW this happened in the pouring rain. read more
