Jakewich
Aimee K.

Decent food but not anything exceptional. I had the Jakewich... 2 eggs, cheese and pork roll on an english muffin. The waitress never asked how I wanted my eggs cooked and I assumed that on a breakfast sandwich they would have been scrambled. Unfortunately, they were over easy so, the dripping yolk made it a bit messy to eat. English muffin was a little too well done for my liking. They substituted sweet potato fries for me instead of home fries. They were delish. My friend had the special Pineapple Coconut pancakes. She enjoyed them and said they tasted like piña colada pancakes. Service was good but coffee needed to be offered in regular intervals instead of us trying to get our servers attention. Overall it wasn't bad but we probably wouldn't go back.

Stuffed French toast.....

Been to the other Jack's eatery and this one is just as good. Well depends on how you look at it... Food is delicious.. I had stuffed French toast. Coffee good. But the service hear is bad. Waited 10 min to get waited on... 5 min for my coffee. And 25 min for my food.. Definitely needs to be more training. No one should have to wait that long. Especially just to be waited on. Jack's is plain Inside with not much on the walls and making like that new type of a restaurant... Bring a jacket... It's cold in hear they have the air on even when the Temps are cold outside. I don't think I would ever come back to this one... Just sticking with richboro Jack's... The atmosphere seems to be much better. And more available parking.

We just enjoyed a very satisfying Good Friday breakfast at Jake's in Newtown. Plenty to eat, tasty and quite fairly priced. It seems time to revisit the old review and adjust the ranking to 4 stars. I've eaten here often enough to become a fan.

The picture speaks for itself. I was utterly repulsed and shocked that they would allow bare dirty feet in their establishment. We left before we even opened our menus. I will never eat here again

A nice restaurant to stop in for a bite to eat. Service is prompt and friendly. Breakfast is served all day and the prices are fair.

Tables adorned with a cute little ceramic sugar dish, lovely tableware and fresh flowers. This place was designed with love and intention and it shows. From the lighting fixtures to the decor Flourish is both stylish and comfortable. The food is just as well thought out. Inspired by Eastern European flavors Flourish takes basic breakfast to an elevated experience. A bit pricy for daily breakfast but the flavors were a treat to experience. No pork products but the turkey sausage was just as satisfying and 4 long links in a side serving. I chose the garden skillet and swapped the over easy eggs for scrambled. He went for the Shakshuka. Both were not just served but presented beautifully on wooden boards. We had to try the Syrniki and were delighted. You aren't going to find over the top portions here, but the meals are satisfying and prepared with fresh quality ingredients. The berries on the Syrniki were huge, juicy and tasty. Flourish is not your daily breakfast spot but definitely one we recommend and will revisit on occasion.

Not only was it a delightful experience for my tastebuds, it covered the entire plate. This was one of the few times I couldn't finish my meal. It probably didn't help that I had an order of their amazing bread and butter. I love the vibe at this spot. They serve top notched meals in a casual environment. I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. We get them every time we visit.

Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!

I asked what I was in for and was immediately schooled on all of the offerings by the owner..... she described every item with great detail, pride and passion. I ended up buying some items for my wife's work and something for myself. The prices seemed high, but believe me you're getting what you pay for. I ended up with two Croissants - Buttery, flaky French-style croissant, one Pain au Chocolat - Our classic croissant filled with two bittersweet chocolate batons, one Nutella croissant - Our classic croissant filled with delicious Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread, one Fruit Jam croissant - our classic croissant filled with delicious fruit jam and a Almond Chocolate croissant - Our classic almond croissant filled with two bittersweet chocolate batons. For myself, I took another customers advice and went with a savory Ham and cheese croissant - our classic croissant filled with bechamel (creamy white sauce), ham and cheese. The shiny sheen of buttery baked goodness was the first thing you'll notice before you taste that flaky brown crust. Every bite was a clean crisp break and boy did all the flavors of ham and cheese combine to make a fantastic breakfast. My bill was $40 combined for all seven items. (I believe the ham and cheese croissant itself was about $6 and change) The croissants my wife brought to work were a hit. One of the her co-workers lived in France for several years and was complaining she couldn't find a comparable croissant on this side of the pond. She was beyond impressed and commented they are better than most she remembered. Mission accomplished, she'll be paying her first visit and I'll be returning to try some sweet options next time! Small location, but a mighty and beautiful product made with love at Mamie Colette!
