Great place for drinks and burgers. We started out with the onion ring appetizer and we each had a burger. Although they are known for their double meat I chose to get a single patty. The burgers were fresh and cooked perfectly. They come on a poppyseed bun or a plain bun. Try the poppyseed! Although we chose to sit at a table the bar was a good size and very inviting. Prices for food and drinks are very reasonable. Our server Josh was the best! Since it was our first time we had lots of questions. He not only had patience with us but was able to answer everything we asked him. He made suggestions for ordering which helped me. He made sure to stop by the table a number of times to check on us and refill waters. So if you go in ask for Josh's station! read more

I met my wife and friends at Jake's on Thursday 4/22/21. Our server, Aly was right there to greet me to see if I wanted a drink. She was on her A game for sure cause even with having multiple tables she made sure that we were taken care of. The drinks and food were amazing as always, but the service this time was impeccable. So much I offered her a job where I worked. Lol. She declined and I don't blame her. She's part of a great place and I hope they appreciate her. read more

Took my mom and newborn to Jakes for a delicious burger, amazing cheese fries and quick, kind service. JB took care of us and did a great job making sure our table was taken care of. Sometimes it's just nice to grab a burger not at a fast food joint and Jake's never disappoints! read more

We ate here for the first time today & thought both the food & the service were excellent. I had the chili burger & it was delicious. I asked our server if the onions mentioned on the chili burger were raw. She replied that they were. About the time I was going to tell her to just leave them off, she offered to have them cooked for me. That's service!! Hubby had the blue burger & he said it was great. We shared an order of the fried green tomatoes with spicy remoulade & those got a "thumbs up" from us as well. We'll definitely be back! Can't wait to try their weekend brunch! read more

No idea why overall review rating is so low. 2nd time here; once for lin7amd now once for dinner. Fried pickles aren't my favorite, but not bad for what they are. But let's face it...this is a BURGER place and for that, they are fantastic. I'll keep coming back! read more

Was completely disappointed from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. I'm surprised this place is still in business especially in such a cute reputable area. As soon as I walked in the door the entire place smelled like a sour mop. I should've turned right back around then. The server was just "ok" she wasn't very attentive at all but I guess what more can you expect from H.S. kids. The burger was disgusting and overly priced. I can't believe I paid $9 for that garbage... didn't even get through half of it. The fries were just the same. Ordered a cosmopolitan... how can you go wrong?! WRONG!!! Didn't even get through a portion of it... something was off . All in All I wasted $40 that night! Tremendous place for burgers. Friendly atmosphere. Service was tremendous. Our nervier 'Juline' was there when we needed her and not there when we did not. Answered all of our questions and made the whole lunch experience a great one. Food was out of this world. We had burgers and shared tots and fries. Manager came over about 1/2 thru our meal and asked if everything was ok. Just a nice place to eat and have a beer. read more

I am sad to say I might have to give up on my favorite place in Frisco. Tonight was beyond explanation. I never knew who my server was. They never attempted to take our dinner order. I'm not sure what was up, my theory is several tables were closing out as we arrived. When we left there were five servers on the floor and six tables sat, most of which two or fewer. The manager on duty was hanging out by the stage area speaking to two of the servers. I waited about twenty minutes to go to the bar and ask for our card to be run. We had been there 40 minutes at this point and all we ever received was the order we placed with the girl who said she was just coming by to get our drink orders 40 minutes earlier. Our alcoholic beverage took about 15 minutes to get to our table! Apparently, they had run out of orange juice and were trying to find a way to get more. I suggested a juice substitution and our drink arrived. Sad to see such a great location and concept suffering from service quality and training issues. I have loved the idea of Jakes for sometime now. It's so close to home. It has a great patio. But the last four times we have been in have been so rough. I know the COVID-19 reopening has all sorts of issues for restaurant operations. It's difficult to predict sales patterns with everything going on. I hope that you all can figure out what went wrong this evening and find a plan to repair it. The late arrival to the table and follow up visits have consistently been a theme. Really enjoyed Jakes Burgers and Beer. Didn't have a beer but the fried chicken strip salad was one of the better ones I've had in DFW. The waitress said the fries were like Arby's but they weren't so that was disappointing but whatever. I'd eat here again for sure and want to try the burgers that my friends enjoyed. read more

Several open tables, still waiting time was 25 minutes. We inquired why the wait, the host said they couldn't seat us right now. She couldn't explain all the open tables inside and outside. My first impression of the place was the wonderful environment. I can imagine going here at night will be an even better atmospheric experience. I ordered the Jalapeno bottle caps along with the bottle cap burger and I must admit, the food was a lot better than what some of the reviews on here describe it to be (Seriously, what type of cushy life must a person live to describe the bottle cap burger as "the worst thing" you have ever tasted). The bottle cap burger's quality is similar to that of an In n Out burger. It was tall and very filling- consider the fact that I'm relatively thin and small-that I couldn't finish it. My only complaint for the place will be the small portion size for the Jalapeno bottle appetizer. For five dollars, I expected a small mound of them but that was not the case. Throw another small handful of them onto the plate and that about matches the price. The service was wonderful. The manager is a super friendly lady and the waiting staff does a good job as well. Very solid first experience. I ordered the Burger of the Month (The Pesto Burger) and it was fantastic. I highly recommend the poppy seed bun. I got one of their happy hour drinks (some Berry Honey Jack combo) and it was very sweet and a bit weak, but for 3 dollars I can't complain. Oh, and the fried pickles are a bit overpriced for the amount you get, but SO GOOD. read more
