Popped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon to find the place clean, welcoming and with one large table of ladies enjoying their lunch. Before I knew it I was approached by staff wanting to help but as I was waiting for a colleague I took a seat at the bar and studied the menu. Immediately my eyes were drawn to the Barn Burger. To accompany the burger I ordered a half and half which was a pleasant surprise mix of fried and onion rings. Although not rings but onion pieces, it was a great mix. Burger flavor was very good. We felt bad for all of the construction happening on Main St, so we came in to support a local business. We wanted to love it, but we just didn't. It's well enough with the cute interior, linen napkins and walk up order... The kid behind the counter was helpful as we've never been here before. He made suggestions and was okay enough. But I could tell, he was occupied on closing with just an hour and a half left.... But the bartender?? Not concerned about customers. The boyfriend and I were maybe one of three parties in the dinging room and the only ones seated at the bar. I guess she was too busy with trying to close up that she forgot it's still open hours?? We came here for dinner around 5:15 pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't busy at all but by the we finished, the place was packed! Thank goodness we came early! I went here with some friends one Friday night for dinner. You walk up an order at the front before going to the self serve drink station and then finding a table. I got the Patty Melt $11.79 and an order of Half/Half fries/onion strings. I thought the half and half is convenient and tasty. I actually put some of the onion strings on my patty melt. The Patty melt was fine but the bread was so much bigger than the patty which was disappointing. The burger itself taste wise was fine but pretty pricey for what you get. With the family craving burgers, Haystack was our first stop for our weekend in Frisco. We arrived just as they were opening for lunch, so there wasn't much of a wait and the food came out quickly. I was thoroughly impressed with my Avocado Ranch Burger. Everything just meshed so well together, especially the avocado ranch dressing and crispy bacon, once I had taken a break from devouring my burger, I'd realized this the best burger I'd had in quite a long time. Add some perfectly cooked fries to the mix and everyone walked away happy. After a long day, my friends and I stopped by Haystack for dinner this past weekend! I ordered a patty melt and my husband got the Escabeche burger and we shared an order of cajun fries. The burgers were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly! The patty melt has a bit of spice to it that i didn't expect so be warned if you do opt in for it! The fries tasted great (especially with the ranch) but the price seems steep for the potion size. The service at this spot was GREAT! I went to finally try this spot. I parked in the back and came in the back door and got a little lost on what to do. The bar and a column blocked the view to see there is a front order counter it the back right corner. Once i figured that out went up to order. I tried the Haystack Burger because who doesn't love fried onions on their burger. It was a tasty burger and solid. Now i got the banana pudding and let me tell you it is fantastic and might be one of the best i have ever had. It is light and fluffy and tastes like real whipped cream and pudding and not cool whip. I came here and ordered a vanilla milkshake, a Haystack burger, fries, and a Rueben sandwich to go. The inside was pretty clean and spacious. I could see myself eating here for sine in. They even have TVs which helps you not to miss a game when sports are on. The wait was about 15 minutes. The Rueben came with thinly stacked pastrami, swiss, house-made 1000 island & sauerkraut (which I substituted for lettuce). This sandwich was so good! I loved the flavor of the pastrami; the rye bread was also delicious! I definitely recommend it and I can't wait to eat it again from here. The Haystack Burger comes with Haystack Onions, Cheddar Cheese, Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, Bar-B-Q, Lettuce, Tomato, & Pickles. This burger has a lot of robust flavor in each bite. Such a fun corner spot in Frisco for a lunch or dinner eat. There's a bar separate from the food counter so you can choose a "happy hour" vibe or grab a spot near the window to overlook main street. Absolutely amazing place in the Preston Hollow location at least when they serve liquor and a smiling faces greet you with amazing Eye-Contact everywhere. Don't even bother with eating utensils this food is the best one eaten with your fingers even dipping my finger into the yellow mustard to go along with bites of my portobello mushroom burger (because they were out of the veggie patties). I'm very sad because I loved Haystack. Best burgers i've ever had. Been through all the small changes they've had over the years specifically the Frisco location. Tonight was my last night eating here. I thought I'd give them another chance, but my usual avocado ranch burger is always cooked the same no matter what temp I say, and the bacon is exactly the same that wendy's or mcdonalds serves. The meats have suffered. They changed the menu and made all the prices higher, just to change all their food to Sysco products. Very disappointing read more

Awesome burger place in downtown Frisco! We live in Frisco square and took a walk down here for lunch. It is very cute and clean inside! They have a good menu with many things to choose from! I got cubby's chicken sandwich and my boyfriend got the goat cheese and fig burger! Both were amazing and well seasoned! The fries and onion strings were wonderful as sides. They also have shakes as well that I would love to try sometime! The staff were super nice and accommodating. Brought the family in for dinner on a Sunday. Couldn't believe there was only us and one other family in here. I ordered the patty melt and it was made to order just the way I like it. My wife got the Avocado Baccon burger and my oldest got Andrews awesome cheeseburger. All in all we enjoyed our food and would give the food score a 4/5! Service was quick but "bedside manner" could be a little more cheerful when order was taken. The girl that brought our food was sweet and helpful! We ordered direct from the restaurant to support them during road construction with a 7:00 pm pick up. We arrived at 7:03 and food was cold (fries, fried pickles and onions) before we arrived home which is 5 min away. The only other issue with normal fare was heavy salt on burgers. We know it's not health forward so didn't take exception. The one item I'd share as maybe helpful for vegetarians is please disclose it's a spicy black bean burger as 'veggie patty'. I've been vegetarian since 17 (in my 50s now) and hate those as the flavor is so specific. It's like a southwest taco on a burger bun and doesn't taste good with most burger adds. I added avocado which was good I ordered the buy in get on of the half n half so i tried the fries which were tiny and no flavor except skin, the onion strings were just fried flour and no real onion, the sweet potato chips i did like and the fried pickles were sliced so thin it was tasteless I am bot supposed to eat sweets but thought homemade nana pudding would be a great sweet treat but it was not homemade or as described. The burgers are the perfect mix of flavors without one being too overbearing or what I see a lot of burger joints do which is throw the kitchen sink at a burger ultimately making its signature taste nothing because of too much of everything. The meat was cooked properly and the patties themselves were super thick! The fries were good, not outstanding or something to write home about but certainly complementary to the burger itself. I'd say the same about the fried pickles. Not a huge flavor profile but more of a texture enjoyment. The service outstanding, polite, and fast service. It was busy and I was expecting a longer wait but absolutely not. It in-fact was so fast that we thought the wrong food was brought out! Picked up a to-go order. Waited a couple of minutes when we arrived, no big deal since we arrived about five minutes before the pickup time. The gentleman went to the kitchen and got the order. The entire order was ice cold. We ordered the Vanderbuilt it arrived with just a bottom bun. We ordered the Haystack burger, but it arrived without onion straws. We ordered the half /half fries and pickles. The fries looked and tasted as if they had sat in the bottom of a warming station, had been fried off multiple times, and had the rank taste of soy oil. Yes, we know they used to be in-house fries that were twice-fried... this was more and that. Called to speak to a manager, I was told by an employee named Chris that there was no manager on duty and that the manager was out shopping.
