I am giving this place 4/5 because I did not personally purchase a car from Jake. But I will rate everything else. Jack is awesome. We were picking up a car from a friend and Jack was very attentive to our emails, calls, and texts during the entire process. He was very intentional to make sure all parties were informed of a schedule and any documents that needed to be taken care of. Once we got to the location, the showroom is beautifully kept with a variety of motor babies. Whoever did the layout did a fantastic job! Jake greeted us himself in front of the store and proceeded to pull the car up to us to have us inspect it. He was quiet and did not hover us like a fly. Once everything was good to go, he asked if we needed any waters or to use the bathrooms which was very polite of him. What a horrible experience dealing with Mike over at Jake's Motorcars. Reached out and inquired on a 2018 GT3 they listed online for $210k. After back and forth exchanging texts and we came to a buy number worked for both of us. I asked for a DME report and Mike said go ahead and set an appointment with a shop to do my PPI. Then I was told through text I cannot take the car to Porsche of San Diego . WTF?? He said they have bad experience with them in the past. I replied back to him and ask what does that have to do with a PPI I am willing to paid out of my pocket. And his answer was we can only take it to Porsche of Carlsbad and ask for his buddy Sean Puno. This song does not sound legit and boarder line illegal in the State of Ca in my opinion. How can they say we cannot have the car inspected at a shop of my choice. read more

To make it more difficult, I live in the Bay Area and Jake's is in San Diego, CA. Mike Pedace made the entire process easy. Bought a Range River supercharged. Since day one had issues with car; front left air suspension was bad, car was very dirty in hard to reach places ( must have been used off road a lot) car had left front window scared, heads up display is crooked, all software was out of date and not upgraded. Car was at Land Rover dealer for over 8 days...Will probably not buy again from this I dealer...they could have upgraded Software (it's free at dealer) did not disclose the suspension system. read more

I took my car to get services 6 months later and Mercedes dealer told me the "black out" that is done is after market and not done by Mercedes-Benz....unreal I thought Jakes was a legitimate dealer...... after I found about how I was fooled about the car.... I tried to sell it back to them.... the sales guys gets on the phone and says " you're not gonna like what jake said"..... I asked him how much lower are you gonna offer me for the same car 6 months later.... he offered me $110k unreal $50k less in 6 months.....yelpers stay far far away......this type of business should not be around. I never leave reviews but my experience with these guys was less than pleasant and I think they should show some sense of accountability. I found a MB G 63 online & contacted these guys. I dealt with Mike the manager who assured me the car was in great shape. Being that I am overseas I wanted to leave a deposit and send a third party company to inspect the vehicle, I was told "we do not take deposits on vehicles, first come first serve". I thought that was strange but I went along with trusting these guys as they pride themselves on their reputation. I paid for the car in full and scheduled for shipping. Only after I wire the money do they remember to tell me that they still do not have clear title for the car and that now I have to wait about 3 weeks before I can ship the car. I was annoyed and expressed to Mike that I would have appreciated a bit more transparency especially with him knowing the car is being shipped overseas, a clear title is a must. Not much care was shown.."simply just have to wait." I finally get my car and the previous owner had some decal on the back and on the front hood of the car which caused discoloration on the vehicle wrap as well as some spots throughout the vehicle that many were visible in the original pictures which were sent but were not addressed at time of purchase as it simply looked like the car needed to be washed and detailed. All of my calls and texts were ignored with ZERO accountability and or care from Mike or anyone else at Jakes Motorcars. I buy 3-4 vehicles a year, these guys short sighted mentality lost them a client for life. I would be careful purchasing from them, especially sight unseen. read more

But after meeting with and transacting a deal with Jake (hands-on owner), Mike (awesome sales guy) and their support staff I can't say enough good things about my experience and trust me they had a big hurdle to get over given my preconceived notions about independent auto dealers. I had the pleasure of visiting Jake's showroom in-person on multiple occasions prior to purchasing my first vehicle from them and on every occasion I was treated with respect in a friendly no pressure atmosphere while perusing the wide array of beautiful vehicles that fill their showroom. As a business owner myself, I've come to understand that despite one's best efforts and intentions that things will go wrong and that one's firm should be measured by how they respond to and handle such matters not if they occur. Also, they refused to provide a demo test drive after I proved funds to pay CASH for the car! Horrible. Will not do business with these clowns. I recently purchased a Ferrari f 430 from Jakes. After reading a few bad reviews I was cautious. This was such a pleasant transaction i couldn't believe it. The total time to purchase was less than 1 hour. That was very nice but not the reason I am writing this review. After I purchased this car I discovered a old report from Ferrari that detail a oil leak. I was very concerned about this and contacted Jake and he was a stand up guy. Although it had nothing to do with his company he took action and resolve my issue. As it turns out the Ferrari store make a mistake. It would of been easy for Jake to dis regard my concerns , and I would of not blamed him if he did after finding out the facts. I realized the true value of a 1 st class operation. I would like to compliment Jake's Motorcars sales support and service during my purchase of our pre-owned 2012 Aston Martin Virage Volante. First of all: word of caution! The visual display and breadth of exotic cars in the showroom is intoxicating! Be prepared to leave with a dream car! We visited the showroom originally to see a 2010 Aston Martin Rapide, advertised on a National Search. This was a truly nice car; however, upon later reflection, my wife and I realized we really wanted a convertible car - and Jake's had just the car in the showroom: a 2012 Aston Martin Virage Volate with incredibly low mileage!! Tungsten Gray with light Cream Truffle interior - the perfect San Diego color combination! We worked with Rick to better understand the car, ask questions, take a test drive. Never did we feel under any pressure to make a decision. The carefully curated cars sell themselves! They provided CarFax records, the original Factory Build List, an estimate of the original dealer MSRP. Most importantly, we met with the service manager John who is an Aston Martin Factory Trained Technician to further answer our technical questions. The purchase paperwork process was very efficient - all documents prepared quickly by the administrative office, and effortless to complete. Mike explained that the car would be serviced by John "to his standards" prior to our pick up. We also arranged for UV window tinting to be added during this shop period. John performed a "40-thousand mile" type service and inspection (even though the car had only 8200 miles). He also mounted four new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires plus alignment, as the original Pirelli P Zero's were showing age and wear. When we picked up the car, both Rick and John answered more detailed questions regarding the various electronics; operation; performance; and maintenance. They were very generous with their time.
