Every time we come to town to visit our friends, who live in Wickenburg Ranch, we asked to go to Jake's. The service is typically good and friendly and we love the views! We have never had a bad meal here. This visit we got the chicken piccata gratin with the green beans and rice and also the prime rib special. Both were very good! So many restaurants overcook the chicken, but the chicken was very tender and flavorful! The prime rib was well seasoned and tender. We will be back again next visit! The food menu changes seasonally, but I am attaching copies of the current menu to give an idea of their offerings.

We have been coming to Jake's spoon for a few years. We have been to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and bring out visiting guests. We live in Surprise so it is a drive. We absolutely loved going to Jake's Spoon. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the views are beautiful. We always had great service. From the mins we walk in the door. The food was always very good. That is why this review isn't one I wanted to make. We made our usual reservation on open door for a standard table. We arrived 15 mins early. When I approached the hostess she asked if I had a reservation I said yes she found it and said you can sit in the bar or a high top. The bar was extremely loaded with regulars who had clearly been there awhile. (I need to sit in a booth as I had a sugary and sitting in a regular chair isn't comfortable.) we took the GIANT bar booth for the two of us. It was awkward to say the least. The booth could easily seat 6 with room to spread out. We noticed the menu had changed but that's fine. I just wanted a steak and salad. My usual, I aways get the same thing. My husband go the chicken pot pie . Disappointing is the best I say about the steak and salad. The steak was perfect on the inside but the outside was burnt and bitter. They were out of the sauce I had ordered with it. Husband said the pot pie was good but not worth $28. He said it was more like soup with puff pastry on top of it. Here is where they went wrong. A lady in a pink sweater came to our table, didn't get a name or what she did asked if they could get me another steak and salad. The restaurant was closing in 15 mins so I opted to not get another plate and my husband had finished his meal. I explained I understand it's busy as we come out often and it's just an off night. The lady reply's with well as of January first we are a private establishment. The community sold enough home that now they can be. With that said we will not be going back in the next three weeks. It was a great restaurant and we wish the best for all the staff.

9'22 - chips, salsa and guacamole. Ok

Let me start by saying the 4th star was for Shannon, our GREAT! And the view/atmosphere. I started with the cucumber jalapeño beverage. I would not say it's spicy. We added the guacamole salsa and chips, they were OK. And the shrimp tempura, however, the shrimp is very small with a lot of breading. Well we did love was the cast iron shrimp and the ribeye, it was cooked perfectly.

Stopped in on our way from Sun City West to Laughlin. We had never been to Wickenburg before. We weren't planning on a long lunch break but it was so worth the extra time. We didn't know ahead of time that it is a restaurant in a clubhouse of a gated golf community. It's quite beautiful. We split a brunch burger and fries and got a side of fresh fruit. It was more Everything was tasty and prices are reasonable. With tip we were out of there at $22. We didn't have drinks. Madison was our waitress and was very sweet and bubbly.

Great service. Would have loved to sit outside with the views but wasn't even offered the option of an outdoor table. The salad was good, the thin crust pizza was really good and our server was outstanding.

Food was good, service was minimal. We sat on the patio, which was lovely; great view, however, after receiving bread and water, we didn't have service for over 15 min. Ended up going to the bar for our first round of drinks. Even after that, tables around us received service before we were ever attended to. Disappointing. We ordered the tuna app, chicken salad, ribeye and lamb lollipops. The lane and rib-eye were the favorites, the tuna fell far short and you could taste the residual freeze on it. Overall, a good experience for the area which had very minimal options.

This is a wonderful place to eat. We've had lunch & dinner several times and are always happy. Ginny is an amazing waitress and Mo who works in the bar is fantastic. We went last night and ate on the patio (I didn't get our waitresses name but she was wonderful). My husband had the burger & loved it. I had the wedge salad with tuna; it was excellent! The views are spectacular. It was very busy & our waitress was swamped. I made sure to have her tell the chef how delicious the food was. I highly recommend reservations for both lunch & dinner. Be patient & kind; it's busy for a reason.

She was so kind, super attentive, and made a point to make eye contact and engage with everyone at the table. It was my dad's birthday, and they brought out a birthday treat for him, which was such a nice, thoughtful touch. However, the check-in process was very uncomfortable. The host who greeted us didn't make eye contact with me at all, a person with a disability. Instead of speaking to me directly, he asked the person I was with if I needed a child's menu. As an adult, being talked about rather than talked to was rude and honestly pretty embarrassing. It would have been much more professional to provide standard menus for everyone or just ask me directly if I needed anything specific. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious: The bread and butter were warm and a great start. We had the bruschetta and a shrimp appetizer, both were hits. Our table ordered the cheeseburger and fries, the salmon, and two orders of the short ribs. Everyone loved their meal and had zero complaints about the food quality. The restaurant was packed and had a high-energy vibe, but the music was way too loud, it made it a bit hard to talk. The lighting was also a bit strange; it was very dark, and at several points, the lights would flicker or completely turn off and on again, which was a bit distracting. If you want to go on a Sunday evening like we did (6:00 PM), definitely plan ahead! We made our reservation a couple of days before, but by the time our day arrived, they were completely booked. I'd recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance to be safe. I would definitely come back for the food and the excellent waitstaff service, but I really hope management works with their hosting team on how to treat every guest with basic respect and direct communication.

They are flavorful and really hit the spot. The goat cheese salad was my home run of the meal! It has an arugula base and is topped with goat cheese, chia seeds, glazed walnuts, sun dried strawberries, candy striped beets and mission fig balsamic dressing. There is just enough dressing to add to the flavor without being over powering. The salad in the picture is a small. Next time I will get the large, add a protein and make it my meal! My husband had the Farm fettuccine with chicken. During his first couple bites he was very impressed but thought it became bland as he dug deeper into the bowl. He still thought it was good and finished the bowl but had to add some pepper and salt. It is made with fresh fettuccine noodles, pancetta, wild mushrooms, AZ sun-dried tomatoes, aged pecorino, FARM alfredo sauce. There is a full bar and a speciality drink menu. We sat on the patio which is very small and is on the corner so there is a lot of traffic. We dont mind because we like to people watch. Parking is on the street so expect to search for a spot on the weekends. Service was great! Our waitress even brought a small table fan to shoo off a persistent fly. Definitely a place we would return to for a tasty meal and great service!

There were some real highlights, but also enough misses to keep it from being a five-star visit. The standout of the evening was the service. Lari ("Lotti") took excellent care of us--attentive without being intrusive and genuinely welcoming. Even after we paid the bill, we never felt rushed to leave, which made for a relaxed evening catching up with friends. The cocktails were also outstanding. I ordered the Shuttlecock, a unique combination of vodka, sauvignon blanc, and prickly pear that was incredibly refreshing and perfect for a hot Arizona evening. The wine list is approachable rather than overwhelming, making it easy to find something enjoyable by the glass or bottle. We started with the Kilt Lifter Fondue, which was ideal for our group of four. The combination of sausage, bread, sliced pears, and creamy cheese fondue was delicious and a great way to kick off the meal. Unfortunately, the entrees were inconsistent. My wife's meatloaf was excellent, but my short ribs were noticeably dry. The tart cherry BBQ glaze was also much more tart and bitter than expected and didn't complement the meat particularly well. Our friends, however, couldn't stop talking about the chopped salads, which are mixed tableside and seem to be one of the restaurant's signature dishes. Dessert was another miss. We shared the featured rum cake with raspberries and strawberries, but the cake itself was dry. The atmosphere is also a bit deceptive. At first glance, the low lighting and cozy booths suggest an intimate dining experience, but the noise level was surprisingly high. It was difficult to carry on a conversation without raising our voices. Overall, we had a decent time thanks to the great service, cocktails, and appetizers. That said, the noise level and inconsistency in the food make me hesitant to return for another full dinner. I would consider coming back to try the chopped salad for myself, though.
