We had such an amazing experience at Cowboy Cookin', and a huge part of that was our server, Stacie! From the moment we sat down, she was so friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. She gave great recommendations and checked on us often without ever making us feel rushed. I ordered the Brie Burger cooked medium well, and it was absolutely incredible--juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. My husband ordered the French Dip, and we both agreed it was one of the best we've had! The meat was tender, the sandwich was delicious, and the au jus was fantastic--rich, flavorful, and the perfect complement to every bite. I've been many times for breakfast/lunch in the past when we do our off road rides to wickenburg but tonight my mom and I decided to swing in on our way back home after a shopping day in town and I am glad we did! Our server was a delight and so friendly and I loved seeing how busy it was it! Yall the rolls! They were so hearty and fluffy with great flavor but the smell when the basket was set down had me in a choke hold lol. I want them daily now! We shared the pot pie and it was worth it! The texture was perfect and not super thick, the chicken was white meat and was clean tasting. But the overall flavor was amazing. I wanted something filling and simple with great flavor that felt like a good homemade meal and this was it! The puff pastry on top was really good too for added texture. Stopped here while passing through on our way back to Vegas. Atmosphere was fun and cowboy themed. Lots of interesting decor and spaghetti westerns playing on the tv's around the restaurant. Clean location and very inviting. A bit dimly lit though so something to consider if you wear glasses. Everyone from the hostess who sat us to our waitress who served us were very friendly and welcoming. Our order was taken promptly and served with minimal wait. We had potato skins, a cheeseburger, and chicken fried steak with dinner rolls. The potato skins were alright. Plenty of toppings. The cheeseburger was ordered medium well but was still pink in the center, so served medium rare. Tasted like it was cooked on an open flame so this was good. The fries it came with were ok. Chicken fried steak was good. Served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Good flavors and the portions were good too. The only downside to our experience were the drinks. The water did not taste good and my sprite tasted like tonic water with no sugar. Reasonably priced for the amount of food we ordered and for being open so late on a Sunday night. We were traveling on the holiday and it was one of the only places we could find open . What gem! The food was fantastic. We had the country fried steak , prime rib and the bruschetta. I normally give like chicken fried steak but this was tender, well breaded and seasoned so well , and the gravy was worth spooning up a bit after ! The prime rib was soft , juicy and cooked spot on. The horseradish sauce was well blended kick and the au ju wasn't too salty. The but betta was tasty and interesting combination. Down side was a bit too tasted for biting into but still good flavor combos . The only down side is they were out of pie , there wasn't much room because we all left stuffed but we would have shared a slice. Up side, we will have to come back up from phx to make a day trip and stop after a day of jeeping. They also as of today offer 4% discount for cash pay ... so keep supporting this small business ! Popped in for a bite to eat on the way to Vegas from Phoenix. It's a fun restaurant that really caters to Wickenburg's cowboy scene. They were pretty busy but we were greeted quickly and seated back in the bar area. After taking a good look at the menu I decided to get a cheeseburger and my mom got a French dip. I really enjoyed my burger. The original sauce on it was tasty and gave it something to set it apart from the fast food burger joints in town. It was a good size too. As previously stated. I was looking for a restaurant that had outdoor dining. My husband had a medical issue while we were traveling and the most convenient Urgent care was an hour away. We were traveling with these two adorable dogs. I knew dogs are not allowed into indoor dining. I asked before being seated if dogs were allowed on the outside patio. I was told yes, than after I'd ordered I was told the dogs had to go. After I crated my dogs and tried to ensure shade; I was very disgruntled with the establishment. Walking in the cowboy decor Is pretty cool, old pictures of all kinds of legends. It's clean and welcoming. When we walked in I had to use the restroom from being on the road. My husband went to get seated, nobody was waiting ahead of him. Restrooms were clean. When I came out he was still standing there. He said workers were ignoring him . We almost left, then a gal stopped to take us back to a table. It wasn't very busy. We ordered iced tea and she eventually came back for our orders. We ordered a French dip w/ fries and a Ruben sandwich with beans. Since so many helpers talked about their beans we just had to try them. Both sandwiches were good. Next time I would ask for the bread to be less crusty on the Ruben, it tore up the inside of my mouth. I think my plate sat under a heat lamp after it was done and both the beans and the bread got dried out. I did tap on the bread it looked perfect but it was pretty hard. Oh but the meat was really good not the super thin sliced, it was good slices with sauce and just a little sauerkraut. So good! The French dip was good with a little horsey sauce and aujus for dipping. My husband said the fries were pretty good. He had to get up to get us napkins. Our waitress had walked by we couldn't get her attention. Your silverware comes in an envelope so while I appreciate the cleanliness we had no napkins on the table. He had watched another man go to the bar and grab some. It had started to get busy so maybe they were short staffed. All in all it was a really good meal at around 2 pm on a Saturday. The menu online showed prices are not updated. All of the prices were about $5 more than the online menu. Kinda what's been happening with all food prices. We were a little disappointed but we were already there seated so we stayed. We had originally planned on going through town and stopping at another favorite place but they were closed for Spring break. We yelped and found this Cowboy Restaurant. We arrived around 4pm on Saturday and the restaurant was not busy so we were seated immediately and served a couple of delicious fresh rolls with butter. We shared the French Dip sandwich with fries. My husband got a cup of chili which included a small cornbread muffin. The restaurant is cute, very down-home country vibes. The restaurant is filled with lots of rustic cowboy and Indian stuff (think branding irons, chaps, bows & arrows), including huge pictures and an old Gene Autry black and white movie running on multiple screens. Of course the music is all country. Draft beer is all local. Name brand beer is available in bottles. Love it when restaurants offer local draft beer! Portraits of Wild Bill Hickock and sureshot gunslingers like Billy the Kid and Annie Oakley adorn the walls; a lifesize sculpture of a horse is situated just outside the front of the restaurant; and black and white Westerns play continuously on TV screens mounted overhead.
