I was returning home from a work trip and I wanted something good and freshly cooked . We were headed to a Chinese restaurant in the same plaza where this is located and decided to go here instead( my husband loves Mexican food.) Upon entering, there's a fuel smell in the air which was a little unnerving but I also thought that it might be the type of fuel used to cook because it reminded of going into establishments at home. Anyway, Plenty of servers and smiling faces. Food: we ordered bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers as an appetizer. They were raw. Literally cold raw bacon that was charred on one side. Honestly, we were ready to go.... in my mind but we were exhausted and hungry. They took the plate and reworked the contents. Moving on. My husband had a burrito and I had the whole fried fish. I was happy with the fish. Condiments are everything and there's was ok ( and they charged for every drop of salsa $1.50 for the 1oz cup.) Pleasant folks though...

The food was great but the customer service lacked a lot! We only got one rounds of drinks I wanted a few more drinks and no one in sight to come to our table with all the people I seen walking around. I haven't left the house it was my first outing after having a baby. Not super excited for this place as I was in the past. I didn't really enjoy this experience. Just great for ONE DRINK and good food...then leave. Also the customer service lacked so bad this review started at at least 3 stars now it was updated to 1 due to how long they came for me to pay my bill.

OMG!!! You need to stop in this amazing establishment, it was so great!!!! I have to say, this is the prettiest Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to. From the legit embroidery on the bar stools with the Jalapeño logo, to the hospitality and ambiance, and finally the culinary magic. Definitely and must stop experience. Once you walk in, it already looks like a fancy Mexican restaurant. It has Hispanic memorabilia wall to wall of all the famous people in show business. The colors inside were very inviting and every table was well kept. I assumed it would be a Mexican fusion of some sort but was happily corrected when I saw how authentic our meal was. We sat at the bar and were served by Jorge and Nicho. We watched Nicho go to work with his mixology showmanship and his customer charm was epic. His service was highly entertaining and put a smile on our faces. I ordered the Molcajete and my husband ordered the Torre. My meal came in a heart-shaped molcajete still boiling from the caldron of food. The Torre was so beautiful and statuesque, definitely a must try. I honestly couldn't finish my meal, it was so much food. You get so much more than you expect. I couldn't wait to meet Chef Antonio (at least that's what I'm going to call him next time I go back) he does amazing work. If you can't make it to the bar, grab a table and Fiama or Bellanira will be glad to serve you. Great food and great vibes. Stop in and bring the family.

Carnitas again Everything tasty and fresh!!!!

I've eaten at the restaurant over many years through several incarnations. It used to be our go to Mexican restaurant but our last two post Covid visits were very disappointing. As a result we had not eaten there in a couple of years . After a kitchen disaster we decided to go out and give Jalapeños another chance. The restaurant was extremely full and people seemed to be really enjoying their food . We both ordered the super burrito wet with carne asada as the meat . They were cold and lacked seasoning. I sent my first burrito back because it was so cold. They appear to have an excellent attentive wait staff but sorry our food sucked. It will be along time before I go back

I've only had the tacos here during taco Tuesday which are $1 for the basic meats. I've had the carnitas, steak, and al pastor, and they do not disappoint. You can get the $1 tacos to go during taco Tuesday, which I prefer since dining in is so busy during taco Tuesday. The restaurant is quite large and includes a self serve salsa bar. I like the toppings that are circled in the image I posted. For $1, the street tacos are a great price with a good amount of meat and double tortilla.

Their new weekly special sign, which is how I found out that they raise their prices for their specials.

I had a strong craving for a burrito, which prompted me to visit my local Taqueria, Jalapeños restaurant. Although I typically frequent this establishment on Tuesdays when they offer discounted tacos, I acknowledge that inflation has led to a price increase, with tacos now costing $1.25 on Taco Tuesdays. On this particular evening, I arrived at approximately 5:30 PM to a clean and tastefully decorated establishment and was pleased to find only one person ahead of me in line, resulting in a minimal wait time. I opted for the super burrito and selected Carnitas as my preferred meat option. The burrito was generously sized and packed with Spanish rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and Carnitas. Although this was not the worst Carnitas super burrito I have ever had, it unfortunately fell short of my expectations, lacking flavor. The meat itself was surprisingly flavorless, despite being juicy and perfectly shredded, reminiscent of boiled meat devoid of salt, pepper, or spices. I appreciated that the guacamole and sour cream were mixed within the burrito, rather than being presented in large globs, which I find unappealing. Upon tasting each component separately, I was disappointed to find that everything, not just the Carnitas, lacked flavor. I had anticipated a dish with a moderate level of spice. This burrito is something that I would feel comfortable feeding to a young child, without having any fear that they would think it's too spicy. Along with my order, I received a complimentary side of chips and a small container of salsa. The salsa was green in color and featured chunks of what appeared to be tomatillo. The salsa was mild, with a pronounced lime flavor. Maybe it was an off night; I'm not sure, but I will not let this experience turn me away from revisiting Jalapeños due to the fact that I enjoy their $1.25 taco Tuesdays. I will give them another chance on a later date to see if my burrito experience is the same. For this visit and this visit only I will give them a three star review due to lack of flavor.

Came here for a Vuelve a la Vida, a Seafood Cocktail with Shrimp, Octopus, Oysters and Ceviche, which was very good. Just not as good as El Tosoro Mazatlan. Jalapenos however is a nice restaurant with a full bar. The restaurant was full and lively. Service was friendly.

    Amazing staff!!

This review is specifically for their taco Tuesday deal. Staff was attentive and immediately sat our table of 3, right around dinner time. Our waitress was busy but checked on us just the right amount. She apologized that they ran out of chocolate for the hot chocolate, but I got a horchata instead, which was delicious. We got $1 tacos and there's a topping bar so you can flavor it to your hearts content. Free chips when you first sit down, but I believe there's a charge if you ask for a refill. 5 or 6 tacos definitely hit the spot, but you can easily order more. We got the asada and it was a solid choice for a $1 each. The onions and jalapeños were my favorite. Music and lots of conversation around you, but not to the point of being overwhelming. Careful though, you may lose phone connection due to it being a dead spot. However, a solid spot for taco Tuesday deals.

It is very unfortunate to say that my family and I had a not so great service at this location. It is unfortunate to say because all of the past times we have dined here, it has been great and even getting to communicate with the owner himself. However, we decided to dine here for a Mother's Day dinner. First, they condensed their menu by only having limited items on their menu which I am assuming was to prevent further stress from the incoming wave of people that they were receiving. My family and I had questions over the menu including what certain plates included and covered which our server was nice enough to explain. I had ordered a super burrito. However, I changed my mind when I wanted to order a plate with an enchilada as I usually always order when I come here. However, the only plate offered in this Mother's Day menu that included an enchilada came with a chile relleno. I asked the waitress if it would be possible to order an enchilada but substitute the chile relleno for a carne asada taco. The waitress said that was possible so in the end I ordered one enchilada, one carne asada taco and one shrimp taco (without onion as I am not a fan) and I was curious to try. However, when I received my plate the first time, instead of the enchilada -- I got a chile relleno, my carne asada taco and the shrimp taco which came as a breaded shrimp texture (wasn't expecting that, I thought that it would've been regular shrimp). I also noticed that the tacos had onions on it. Bummer. Normally, I hate returning back food but I knew I had to say something which I felt like I politely did to our waitress. I asked if she could switch the shrimp taco to a regular carne asada taco making it two and for the chile relleno to be the enchilada I originally had ordered in the first place. And of course, for the tacos NOT to have onion on them. A few moments later, another person came up to our table which I am assuming was the manager on duty. He mentioned that the waitress had told him that there were several items off the plate I returned that I did not like and that we had problems with the food. I reinstated that I had originally ordered an enchilada instead of a chile relleno and that my tacos came with onions. All which was stated when I placed the order in the first place. At this point, I was the only one waiting for my plate of food while the rest of my family members were pretty much done with theirs. It was also odd that throughout the rest of our service, we never saw our original waitress ever again which by the way her name was Jazmine. She never even came back to tell us that we would be getting help from other people. There was zero communication. At this point, it was bizarre that we had several different people coming up to us checking in all while I still hadn't received my plate. It was not until my dad spoke to one of the people cleaning off the tables if he knew anything that was going on with our missing plate. The worker quickly apologized, went to the back and returned back within 5 minutes with my new plate of food which is the one pictured below. We were thankful he at least managed to bring the plate of food to the table meanwhile the rest of the staff were somewhere else. It felt like maybe my plate was sitting somewhere unattended. The service was very unusual. As you can also see, the tacos STILL had bits of pieces of onion in it. But I did not want to say anything again that would prolong our dinner service more than it did already. However, at this point I was the only one eating while my family was basically finished. In the end, we got our check and we basically got charged incorrectly which also prolonged our service longer as we needed to speak with the staff to correct it. Overall, they were able to correct it. My dad spoke to the manager and told him that he felt the entire service we received was a bit unprofessional given the food situation, our original waitress disappearing on us and the overall lag of the entire service. In the end, the manager was extremely dismissive simply stating "okay, okay, okay" to everything my dad was saying. It felt like they couldn't care less which was disappointing again because we have never been treated like that here before. Not to mention we traveled a few towns out of our home area because we have always liked coming here. But I think we will skip coming here for a while. Overall, it was very disappointing!

Ambiance was nice. Big open space with plenty of seating. Food was decent except for the carnitas super burrito which was bad. I wouldn't recommend it. The mocaljetes was really good, the Birria tacos were good and the chicharron with guac... smacked! Served was just okay, he left us unchecked on for long periods of time but when he did come by, he was pleasant. I'll def try it out again but I doubt I'd do a burrito from here.

Excellent service, the food was authentic and delicious. The drinks were one of a kind. Hands down the best in town!

The salads are mostly iceberg lettuce, and I personally prefer a spring mix like I've seen at other Mountain Mike's locations. That's definitely a downside for me.
