From the moment I arrived, it was clear this wasn't your typical tree lot. The team truly cares -- not just about selling you a tree, but about making sure you leave happy. There's a level of attentiveness and kindness here that feels rare, especially during the busy holiday season. They took their time helping me find the right tree, and I never felt rushed or like just another transaction. It felt personal, thoughtful, and honestly... festive in the best way. What really stood out, though, was what happened after. For a small fee, they offered tree pickup at the end of the season -- and when the team came, they went above and beyond. The guys were so polite and hardworking, handling everything seamlessly and even taking the time to sweep up afterward. It made the whole process completely effortless on my end. It's little details like that -- the follow-through, the care, the pride in service -- that turn a simple errand into a five-star experience. I'll absolutely be back year after year.

We love our tree this year! Micah was so helpful in unwrapping options for us, putting on the stand and helping us pick the perfect tree.

They had a lot of knowledge and it was a beautiful day just to walk around and smell the flowers and look at the different kinds of plants and listen to the bells trimming what a great selection and a beautiful experience. Thank you very much Brooke for a great day and memories for my dad and me. Off to Idaho we go, but as soon as we can come back, you can bet we're gonna stop by again. Have a beautiful and blessed day and thanks again

Over the years, I have found the owner, Brooke, to respond to most requests with some variation of "no." Do you carry a particular item? No. Can you order something specific? No. Can I exchange something? No. Can I return an item I purchased just a few hours earlier? No. The most recent example was a simple request for a 10-gallon plastic pot. Last week, I was told they were out of stock and to come back after Friday. When I returned this weekend, they still didn't have one. While walking through the nursery, I noticed a used 10-gallon pot and asked whether I could buy it. The answer was no, and I was told to come back next week. The problem wasn't that they were out of stock. Businesses run out of products all the time. The problem was the complete lack of initiative to help solve the customer's problem. A simple offer to order one when I first visited, or even an attempt to suggest an alternative, would have turned a frustrating experience into a positive one. Instead, I went to Armstrong and bought what I needed there. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Dana Point Nursery depends on the support of the local community. Most people want to support independent businesses, but customer loyalty is earned through helpfulness and service. Unfortunately, after several experiences like this, I have decided to take my business elsewhere.

This is the start of a beautiful swallowtail butterfly that is munching away on the fresh parsley I planted.
