The service was Amazing!!! This was my first but not last time visiting James Avery. I love how nice, friendly, and helpful the ladies were here. They answered all of my questions. They walked around with me showing me different types of bracelets and charms. After the day I had at other stores today(3/31/25) I left wanted and that I belonged. For a small shop; they have a huge selection of everything. Necklace, bracelets, charms, and even rings. AMAZING!!!! The value on the other does not match the product. As a native Houstonian, I've always loved James Avery jewelry. Last night at 9:45PM I placed an order online. This morning at 8:45AM, having realized that I'd fat-fingered the delivery address and was off by one digit, I called JA Customer Service at 800-283-1770. Stephanie said my order - a personalized/engraved piece - was already being "processed" and therefore to update the delivery address would require a $12 re-direct fee. I said for sure the piece wasn't even created much less being shipped. She said, "it's being processed...". James Avery isn't cheap jewelry but their customer service helpline standard is most certainly lacking in meeting expectations. For sure. Frustrated and disappointed! So from North Carolina, I'll online-search to find and "meet" my gift recipient's Houston neighbor... SMH read more

This store is usually busy every time I visit. The line moves pretty quickly though. The woman that helped my husband and I was super friendly. She even helped us decide between two different necklaces since we weren't sure what type of jewelry teenage girls were wearing these days. Very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be going back. My friend and I came in to pick up a bracelet that was purchased YESTERDAY and the employees could not find it stating it was "misplaced" while they were going through their outdated jewelry filing system, when asked does this happen often the employee, Mary Jean grunted at us and said no. As they fumbled around for the next 15 minutes they finally decided to ask if we would be satisfied with a brand new one, because the bracelet was new. Had this been an old bracelet we would've been screwed. When asked would we have to come back tomorrow they said no they would do it right away. Bottom line if it could've been done on the spot today it should've been done yesterday so that we wouldn't have to deal with this today. No I do not recommend this location to anyone. Come on James Avery, lets not get too big for your breeches. Ordered matching bracelets for my parents for Christmas. The engraving was to include a degree sign, as I was ordering online I get to the engraving keyboard and there is no degree sign symbol. I called my local, First Colony, store and they had no idea what to do and asked I call the 800 customer service number. Oh boy. I call the 800 # & they had no idea on how to get the degree sign symbol either. Another oh boy. So I was put on hold while they research this. Phones/computers went out twice. After calling back I was told they'd have to call engraving when they opened the next morning & once they found out they'd call me right bck. Two days later I was told they would have to make a special order with detailed notes. Very nervous while waiting to see the bracelets.....The bracelets arrived, engraving was beautiful (they got the degree sign!) but the sizes were incorrect, and I was freaking about the engraving of the degree sign being correct the whole time. I called customer service they said they'd do another bracelet and send it out immediately in the correct size and include a paid mailer to return incorrect sized bracelet. We receive the correct size bracelet and the font is wrong. Oh boy. I call them and they say they will make another one with the original correct font. 3rd ones a charm, I guess. 3rd bracelet did arrive and is FINALLY correct. Hallelujah! I will say management and customer service did make right each time without hesitation....but two wrongs, and then had to wait, 2 bracelets later, for a correct one is bad......ESPECIALLY with the prices now days. We shopped on line at James Avery for a specific birthday gift. We located the item and called the store to inquire if it is available in the ring size we needed. The sale person confirmed it was in stock and off we went to the store. I dropped my wife off in front of the store and I circled the mall and picked her up with the gift in less than 10 minutes. If I could give 0 stars I would! I was treated horribly by the store manager Ed. I am very disturbed that James Avery would let someone represent them who is CLEARLY RACIST. I stood first in line with four people behind me who were not African American. Ed gave me a look of disgust and proceeded to ignore me. He then went to help the customers that came in after me. A woman that was also African American getting check out by someone else noticed the high level of PREJUDICE. i usually go to the location on Katy Fwy near Fry Rd and i decided to come to this location recently since it's closer to me. Well... Let me say I went into the store knowing exactly what I wanted and walked right up to the counter. To make a long story short you can tell the ladies were about ready to go home. They were telling me a ring I wanted wasn't available when I could actually purchase it online and it was available it was just retired. It seemed as if they tried to convince me not to get it saying its retired so it will take a month to ship to me. In other words confusing the heck out of me. Needless to say i will not bring my service back to this location. I will stick with my usual location. I've been a fan of James Avery stuff since my Texas girlhood. Their designs are timeless - anywhere from whimsical to elegant, secular to spiritual - & the quality of their products is stellar. So turns out, whenever I visit from NY, I seem to find myself here w/ my folks. Catalogs & online images are great, but not as lovely as seeing this stuff in person. Plus, the in-store service at this (& every) location is incredible. Need help choosing an item that's similar but different to one on display? Not sure what length or style chain to get w/ your pendant? Have a question about anything? These salespeople will help you thoroughly & warmly, w/ the knowledge & enthusiasm that shows they themselves are also genuine fans of JA. It's a "take a number" setup here, so you might have to wait a while during the busier times to get help, but the one-on-one attention is worth it. We particularly got very thorough & accommodating sales help from Miriam at this location recently; she was so wonderful that I had to mention her during my recent emails to their online customer service online (re: something unrelated). Note, in the back of the store, there's a case of "discontinued" (or "soon to be discontinued") designs - I have a particular weakness for these! I've found cool things there on my last 2 visits & had to snag 'em while I could because of their "soon to be gone" status. Kind of silly, because JA can custom make their older designs for you anyway (another awesome thing they do) but yeah, that "catch it while you can" strategy works on me in this instance! Admittedly, I must add ('cause it's fresh on my mind) that James Avery online recently made mistakes on a charm bracelet I ordered, despite getting instructions in 3 places (my order, an email & over the phone when they called me to confirm stuff). We just got the issue resolved, reaffirming my belief in the company's quality of service, though it took some back & forth. But I will always speak very highly of their in-store service, particularly at this location. Meanwhile, I have a wishlist going for my next purchases...it includes a dangle ring just fer kicks ('cause nothing says "Texas girlhood" quite like one, heh...). read more

This was actually the first experience I've had at James Avery. The first time I came by, the staff was super nice and greeted me so warmly. The bracelet I bought that day turned out to be too big and I came in the next day and Beth assisted me in picking out two bracelets that were great alternatives. I ended up buying both, one in a small and the other in a medium. I wore both that night, but realized that my wrist is more comfortable in a small. The following morning, I stopped by again and Beth assisted me again. She remembered me immediately! She exchanged the medium for a small, no questions asked. I also wanted to upgrade my 10 year old silver necklace and she gave me her personal recommendations on chain designs. Definitely ask for Beth next time you stop by! She's amazing! read more

My mother purchased charms and a bracelet for each of my children. When I went to pick them up, they couldn't have shoved us through any quicker and weren't polite. In spite of that, I came back another time to purchase two rings for my daughters and was given less the mediocre treatment. I spent under $150 that day. I guess it wasn't enough. Though I love the jewelry from James Avery their customer service needs help. I stood in line on Sat to make a purchase/treat for myself since my Bday falls on Mother's Day this year. Of we all know they have the sale they have every year so we expect or to be busy but if I left my bracelet Sat for my charms to be put on there & was told to pick it up on Monday after 4, why wouldn't I be able to go in & pick it up? Why should I have to stand in that long ass line again? They have an area for online pick ups why not let that be the line for all pick up. I was told by the manager they weren't staffed but I see workers walking around doing nothing. The time I stayed in the store to get corporates number & talk to the manager they could have given me my damn bracelet. When there is a sale this great the store should be fully staffed. Those of us that have paid for our merchandise shouldn't have to wait in a long as line to pick it up. Extremely disappointed in them. Is it only me or does this location does sloppy work? Don't get me wrong, the employees are always nice and helpful. But the jewelries looks tarnished and they don't bother to clean it with the cloth before showing it to their customers. Then this weekend I was super happy to go pick up my "deep in the heart of Texas" charm I ordered on line. I brought in my bracelet to have the charm added and I specifically pick a spot away from my other charms so it won't get badly scratched up. The next day when I went to pick up my bracelet, the Texas charm was already badly scratched and had small dents like it was dropped or banged against tools while soldering . WTH, yes I know eventually that would happen but I wish I could be the one to put those dents and scratches there. I wish they would be more careful with handling customers purchases. What a disappointment because the charm didn't look "new" anymore. This location is close to my home but I think I will look for another location. read more

I shop here often. The jewelry is nice quality & in the south it's all about the charm bracelets! The store is beautiful & very well kept. I would have given it 5 stars but my experiences w the staff are not consistent. Some are wonderful & helpful & others don't seem interested in helping at all.
