We dropped in on our way through wrentham and it was very convenient off of 495. An old time type Cafe breakfast joint. The people are nice. We were greeted right away and sat down. My wife went with the mushroom spinach and Swiss scrambler and it was the talk of the Town. It was awesome. Baby portobello button mushrooms fresh spinach, the Swiss cheese melted over it and the eggs were perfectly done. Surprisingly, they had chocolate chip muffins which were just delicious. I did the Alabama breakfast of biscuits and gravy that had fresh scallions or as they would call it green onions and corn on top of it with two fried eggs. Perfectly cooked over easy. We visited this place recently and am sad to report the food and service we received did not meet the levels of some other reviews. My wife got the French Toast, and the taste was like a dirty grill or fake butter used to cook the toast. I got the plate that has steak and eggs. I asked for the steak medium, and it was served very well done, to the point of being dry. They didn't seem real hot either and I am wondering if they had them cooked already and just threw them on the grill to warm them up. The service was OK, but wasn't great. Got a. Invite for a girls breakfast. I ordered sausage and biscuits and it was not good at all. It was cold and minimal sausages;which were just slices of breakfast sausages. The potato's were thin sliced but not cooked very good and extremely bland. I would rather spend the time and make my own breakfast. Service was good; too bad I won't be back. read more

Excellent spot if you are in the area. What you'd expect to get from a New England style diner. Great corn beef has skillets.. generous stacks of fluffy pancakes and great service. It was busy for a Saturday morning, but food came out fast and fresh and coffee cups stayed full. Definitely worth a try! read more

I came in after a run with my friends. We came in during rush hour but were seated right away. It is a small diner with some high tops and booths. They had an extensive breakfast menu. I got the over easy eggs on corned beef hash with some slices of potatoes. I really enjoyed my meal. I do want to try the eggs Benedict next time. read more

James is always a solid pick when it comes to breakfast. I love all their "real deal" dishes and they also have delicious pancakes. The restaurant is also super cute and very good service! Today we got one of my favorites, the "cast iron killer" and apparently everybody was craving it! Also got their hashbrowns on the side to put on top to add more crunch. So good read more

My parents come here often so we decided to give it a try. Definitely cozy inside. Food looked amazing and menu has some cool stuff. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I went with a Sausage and cheese grilled bagel sandwich and a side of corned beef hash 1st they toasted it and didn't grill it. So the bagel was very dry. But they definitely put extra cheese and sausage on it vs most so that was good. But being so dry really hurts the quality They said the corned beef hash was homemade so I asked the server if it was good.... she said it was homemade... didn't say good... but I did get it anyway. It came as a big pile of mush... had a weird flavor to me. Didn't like it at all .. my wife didn't mind it but still not great. She started with the home made granola and fruit. Served warm in milk. She did like it. She ordered an omelet with Swiss and sun dried tomatoes. It looked very runny for an omelet and the cheese wasn't even melted. Its like they made scrambled eggs and then added in the tomatoes and Swiss. There was a side of wheat toast. It was huge and filled with butter. . Probably the best part of the whole meal was the wheat toast. Probably won't be back unfortunately. read more

Good food, great atmosphere, never rushed yet not ignored. Prices are reasonable. I really like that the cream cheese and jelly are served on the side in individual containers. The bagel was fresh and the right amount of chew and the English muffin was quite hearty, really thick, needs some butter to soak in before adding jelly. Someday I'll try it for lunch. read more

Just came here to enjoy brunch with a friend. I had my service dog and SDIT with me and was denied service. The server came at me with the nastiest attitude ever demanding to see my "medical records" for my conditions which is completely illegal under ADA regulations. My dog was laying calmly in a down in an OUTDOOR seating area with no other patrons nearby which we did on purpose as to be out of the way. If I could give zero stars I would but it wouldn't allows me to leave a review otherwise. Nice to see how this place of business treats disabled veterans. He also enjoys there thick cut bacon My new favorite is the crab cake benie. I am also a fan of their hash browns. Those are hard to find in the North East. Their's are crisp and stringy ! The staff are personable and professional. The bathrooms are clean. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. The entrance is often obscured by the trees; so drive slow on your first visit to catch it. This is one of our choice family run breakfast sites in Massachusetts, it is the only one with hash browns and hash on an iron skillet ! We are coming back. read more

Their home-fries and hash browns are amazing, so flavorful and crisp, no soggy bland spuds here! I called and yes they have INDOOR seating ! I see the tables outside and when I parked and went I. I sat at the bar and instant relief. Jessica met me big smile and " do you want some water ? For the past few months as I drove by this restaurant I mistook it for a kitchen support store but thank goodness for the keen eye of my good friend who was in the passenger seat. I brought my family to this establishment on a Sunday morning around 9 and there was a wait (which was totally expected). The wait staff was friendly and attentive to our needs, the food was good (a little fancier than I expected but that's not to say that's a negative thing) and the price was a little higher than some but to be fair they used fresh ingredients and the portions were compatible to the price. James' atmosphere is reminiscent of your typical diner- very welcoming. They have great coffee and some tasty menu items especially their crab cake eggs benedict. This was not good. I only gave it 2 stars because the waitress was nice. Don't get the Belgium waffle. The waitress valine fit was fresh, but the waffle tasted like it had been in the freezer and reheated in the toaster. It was crunchy,dry, cold and flavorless. The well done side of sausage I asked for was very greasy. Presentation was not great The coffee was watered down. My husband got the killer skillet. It was completely over salted and the corned beef tasted like there was bbq sauce mixed in to it. We ate most of the breakfast because we were hungry, but we won't be going back. read more

This is - no exaggeration - the best restaurant breakfast I've ever had. I got the Killer Skillet or whatever it's called, consisted of: - corned beef hash - Home fries (sliced red potatoes) topped with caramelized onions and perfectly cooked green peppers - 2 eggs (which I got scrambled) topped with red onions and scallions This all come served on one of those little cast-iron skillets like a fajita would. The Hash and potatoes were amazing, the potatoes had tons of flavor and were perfectly cooked. And with the eggs, now, I'm not much of an egg eater. I eat them, because they're a great, versatile breakfast food, but I'm usually just tolerating them. These scrambled eggs were delicious. Also got a simple side of buttered white toast and that was also fantastic. I think this place has ruined me for all other breakfast places so it's good it's only 15 minutes or so from my house. read more
