Some guy got loud & mouthy with me - yelling at me from a little distance about not having Iris on her leash, which was only for a fleeting moment. I thought about closing the distance and perhaps smashing in his face because, unfortunately, I used to have an extremely violent side, although only when pushed does the beast take over. So instead I smiled and waved and thought to myself "does he have any idea how lucky he is"? And we went about our merry way

Some of the sites were literally steps away from Nolin River Lake. The lake itself is small, but don't let that fool you, it's gorgeous. We decided to go here the Monday before the weekend and there were several lakeside spots available, but by the time we pulled the trigger and actually booked, two days later there weren't any lakeside sites available. We still booked site B6, which was about 6 spots uphill, away from the lake. We still had a distant view of the lake, but the sites in between were a bit annoying. People need to learn camping etiquette... don't walk through people's sites as shortcuts, it's rude. That's not really the fault of the campground though, but speaking of rude... the camp host was a grumpy asshole. The wife wasn't so much, but dude needs to go retire... somewhere up north. I ask questions to figure things out... and here's what I found out: cancellations are no penalty within 24 hours, so those spots that weren't available on Wednesday, were suddenly available on Friday. Too bad we were already set up on Thursday night. Again, rude people! There isn't the usual reservation fee, like there is at other campgrounds. This campground is government run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District... what that exactly means or what difference it is from State Parks, I'm not exactly sure. Many of the sites were shaded, mostly by pine trees. There was only one concrete pad though, the rest were gravel. Friday we were one of the only ones there at the campground, so we explored, walked down one of the secluded primitive sites and cast our fishing poles. I also loved that they have a late check out. Not all of the campers took advantage of that, so we were one of the only ones left around noon on Sunday, checkout day. There are several other campgrounds in the area, including Wax and Nolin River State Park campgrounds. We drove around those campgrounds, and they too had gorgeous sites. If you've not been to Nolin River Lake and like to boat or camp, I highly recommend planning a trip to the Cub Run area.

It has electric/water sites and primitive camping sites. On our last day there, Mr Brown actually came to our camp site multiple times to assist us with getting a camping pass for my disabled husband. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay at the camp ground was nothing less than perfect. I hope to see them back again next year, as we will be returning. There was a total of 5 of us playing. We each got our own bags and you can choose your color and print that available after you check in and pay. It's the same as cornhole rules but the board are step like a mini golf hole. We were doing pretty well some holes were harder than others the only thing there was only 12 holes and we were smushed together to stay by our group and hole we were playing. A couple behind us sped through and we were all in each other way. Some holes overlap with another so, you might get hit by a bag since it's next to the platform you throw at. Definitely needs to be spaced out more or let some groups wait a few minutes so they don't over lap or get in the way of another group. The kids had fun though!

Recently made a visit here to watch my oldest daughters friend play a soccer game. A very stunning and beautiful campus and a great place to watch or participate in a ball game. The landscaping here is very nice and the place is highly maintained. Very nice concessions with covered roof, indoor restroom facilities and even boasts a cool little playground area that my 2 year old had a blast on. The front of the park even features a few small walking trails at the front that I assume may be used for cross country meets and just leisure strolls. Overall we had a great experience here watching the soccer game. We made the trip from Lousiville and whole Lousiville has a few sports complexes, none of them matchup up to this one in Elizabethtown.

The problem is the trainers suck and the lady running it , Ms J relies on them . Their trainers are young , really young ,that train beginning gymnastics. We've given this place chance after chance because my granddaughter got attached to the weak teenage trainer , who is lazy and depressed . The other trainers were not focused and talked more than trained. No one demonstrated any type of moves for the very few kids attending. I thought because the classes were smaller my grand would learn more. I hated the fact that we left another gym because this one was cheaper. You get what you pay for. My granddaughter got bullied by one of the kids and the trainers pretended not to see it . I told Ms J , who simply said it would not happen again about a month ago. We've been there since 9 of 2025 and my granddaughter learned how to cartwheel , split and a backroll on her own because of very little training. She stayed frustrated because she could not learn the moves because of inconsistency. The kid training her knew nothing. She is just a body there for show. Ms J sits in the office fund raising and lying. I told her my granddaughter got bullied and she said another trainer would get her. Didn't happen .My granddaughter got hurt because the trainer had her on uneven Matt's and she twisted her ankle as a repercussion of me complaining, which my grand didn't want me to do. The trainer is incapable of being professional. and very vindictive.There is no consistency in training and the results is a confused and frustrated 6 yr old. The last straw was this past Friday which is supposed to be beginning training in tumbling, the class we were there for. No one showed up but 1 girl doing make up class and one big bully girl who's been there since she was small that can't do one flip , cartwheel or back bend. Her grandma brings her and all I can say is somebody's crazy . My granddaughter ended up being told to do a cartwheel with a half foot dip in it between 2 1/2 foot Matt's high ,with about a foot spaced in between them. I saw this and from getting hurt before on the uneven mats about the same height ,my grand did not continue. The kids are sitting around while the trainers are walking around with their hands in their pockets and talking. They are lazy and only want a pay check for the mall or McDonald's. They're kids ! So why not .Ms J will says anything to appease a parent and is rude, will not speak or be friendly . Hope it's not a race thing because my granddaughter , who is nothing but sweet kept trying to be friendly to all of them and speak because that's who she is and just got blown off as if she said nothing . Especially by Ms J. I constantly told her to stop greeting them and she actually said "no,momma I'm going to be nice". She is a sweetheart. After the bullying, rudeness and the risk of fatal injury we left this passed Friday but not before confronting Ms J and showing a tape of her lazy trainer letting my granddaughter fall over and over and not supporting her on a move she is not even ready for . She claims she fired the blonde and brunette with really long hair. Beware!!! If you love your kid you will not risk taking them here. Wasted a little money , but the time we wasted was more valuable . Going to another gym so my granddaughter can learn something and I can actually see all she's being subjected to. They have you upstairs in a corner at an angle where you can't see half of what they're doing to the kids in a far right corner. They demand this is where you sit and got mad when the ppl that took my grand went to another spot to see all of what was going on . I noticed they make the real money off of other gym programs that come there for practice because of the space and the little ppl that pay for beginning tumbling training mean nothing individually ,unless you pay a one on one coach and don't take the so called beginning classes. That's a lure to suck you in. Beware the wolves are real!Only leaving one star to close the rating . Really rate 0.

Just as I was feeling particularly negative about having to spend the next 6 weeks in Kentucky for…read morework training, I decided to look up something I'm actually interested in to help pass the time. I am so grateful to have found Yoga on Helm St. I called to let Cheryl know I was coming and when I arrived she was so welcoming and already had a mat and props set up for me. She introduced me to the other students and asked me about my yoga practice and if I had any injuries she needed to know about. Then we got started with the class (I went to the Saturday morning Power Yoga). First of all, her studio is beautiful, clean, and warm. She has plenty of mats, blankets, blocks, etc available for anyone to use, which is great because I have nothing with me! The class was great, she explains everything well and uses the traditional names, which I appreciate a lot. She is really passionate about her practice, learning, and teaching. I am looking forward to going to more classes with her! The first class is complimentary, so you should definitely check it out at least once. $15 per class, or you can buy 6-12-18 class passes at a cheaper rate.
