However, my experience with the staff, particularly Collette, was disappointing. After my exam, I worked with Collette to try on frames for my low prescription. I found a pair I liked but decided to hold off until I felt better and could return with a second opinion. Collette made a subtle remark under her breath about hoping the frames would still be there, which struck me as unnecessary. Two days later, she called to ask if I was coming back for the frames. When I explained that I was still deciding and had requested a copy of my prescription, her tone noticeably shifted. She sounded curt and dismissive, and told me getting my prescription wasn't her department, even though the front desk is only steps away. When I later called back for an update, she answered again and was just as dismissive. I didn't feel confident my request would be followed through, and asked to speak with someone else. Her response made it clear that helping me was a burden. Ultimately, I had to make a third contact and visit the office in person to get my prescription. Even then, it wasn't signed by the doctor, and no one, including Collette, acknowledged the confusion or offered an apology. I've worked in customer service and wouldn't speak to any customer the way I was spoken to. I expected more from an office with such strong reviews and designer branding. Unfortunately, due to the unprofessional behavior I experienced, I won't be returning.

Dr. Shari met with me; and after an initial consultation with one of the doctor's associates, she tested my vision and analyzed the photos of my eyes. Wonder of wonders, despite the time that has passed and my advanced age, there was no change. So I could proceed with new glasses using the same prescription. I wanted the same frame design that I was happy with, and I was happy to hear that the model was still available and had not been discontinued. So I proceeded to order the new glasses. Pretty sure my 21 YO doesn't know who the insurer is, my birth date or the last four of my SSN which is what they need to submit the insurance claim. Not sure that the less than user friendly staff understands the concept of HIPAA in this context. I am the person providing all the of the "personal" information. Never been told I couldn't make an appointment for someone in my family because of HIPAA. Happy to take my business elsewhere.

This was my 3rd exam this year and she said this exam prescription was totally different from what I had. Walgreens Optical is very affordable, no surprise at payment time. The only set back for me was that it takes up to 2 weeks to receive glasses and I'm from out of state. I would have to return to Chicago which I would love to but I'll wait.

Next thing I know I'm on hold and the woman I spoke with said that they have my trial lenses. Wtf! Then she says I will throw in an extra pair for the inconvenience. How did they magically find an extra pair. They handed me a bag and that was it. No trying them on to make sure I was able to see. Never again!
