A friend of mine went to this location for an eye exam and glasses. They ordered 2 glasses, one being RayBans. When they came in it was noticed the lenses are not Rayban But a knock off. They never explained they will not get authentic lenses, but cheap replacements. Buyer beware. They were not upfront about the lenses being swapped out. They are not authorized dealers but have a display. You will get Rayban frames but not the prescription lenses. read more

Nothing but great things to say about this location! I've been to another near me, but they were subpar. I was recommended this location by a coworker and loved my experience. Dr. Patel explained everything thoroughly without all the medical jargon. The ladies at the front desk who checked me in were also so kind. I had Jose help me find my perfect frames and he was so extremely patient and gave me great advice! Have seen Dr. Greenfield a number of times for glasses and contacts in the past. He has now merged with MyEyeDr and I had a terrible experience with them. We were a few minutes late and they very smugly told me unfortunately they have to reschedule me to a layer time since I showed up "outside the window" but they were able to see my wife. Then the front desk lady told me luckily an earlier appointment opened up and they could see me a half hour earlier than my rescheduled appointment... which was still 5 hours in the future. What luck! So I get to spend an additional hour and a half on my day off driving and going to the eye doctor because I was 7 minutes late to an appointment. On top of this, I got to wait around for my wife while another front desk lady asked me if she could help me... As if they didn't help me enough by rescheduling me. Stay away. Find an independent optomitrist and not one of these corporate practices. read more

I have been a patient with this place for the past few years and have been a patient with dr greenfield for essentially my entire life including my childhood. Last time I was here I could not help but notice how rude and obnoxiously nasty dr greenfield really was. He always was a brash person but he definitely crossed the line last time. His ridiculous demands that people wear face diapers even tho the pandemic has been long over with are pathetic and what makes it worse is that he is not at all nice about it. In general he has problems being polite and never bothers to explain what he is doing with you as a patient or why. I really noticed it today when I went to a different eye doctor in Hinsdale and as able to see the stark night and day contrast. I will not be back as my new eye doctor is light year better. For everyone else who is pissed off at greenfield I highly recommend Dr Wilkemeyer in Hinsdale. Polite professional and happy to discuss and answer all questions. Doesn't have any ridiculous demands that patients wear face diapers either. read more

I visited the Elmhurst, IL location about two years ago for a pair of gas-permeable lenses (I lost one of my originals). After receiving them, I noticed that I needed to wear reading glasses at a much greater frequency while wearing the new lenses. I visited the location again to express the changes in my vision but was told that it was the correct prescription. After almost a year, my daughter needed her eyes checked but decided to go to a competitor. While there, I also had my vision checked and received a different prescription. It has significantly reduced the need for me to wear reading glasses while wearing my lenses; my overall vision is much more clear. I am very disappointed with the service I received. I trusted that the prescription was correct. Needless to say, I will never visit this location or doctor again. read more

Put it this way the girl who made my appointment on the phone didn't even bother registering me... I was told they were way too busy to add us but the place was empty and they were on their phones... Great experience with my optometrist at MyEyeDr but everything after that deteriorated. Getting my glasses sized was the worst costumer service I've ever gotten in my life. Almost i wanted was for my glasses to be even on both sides when one was diagonal and one was straight. Ordered a pair of glasses after a visit to the optometrist. Dr greenfield is wonderful but the rest of the place seems mismanaged. The first pair I ordered was somehow accidentally given to the wrong person, so they told me they would order a new pair with expedited shipping. 2 weeks later (3 weeks after my original visit) I call again and they say they've still not come.. I ask again, are you sure? The person looked again and found them. I was sent home with an unbranded box and the most beatup bottle of lense cleaner I've ever seen. Whatever the hell is happening in there, seems like the employees need the glasses more than me. read more

My father was from PA nd had purchased his glasses in PA, and he was hoping Spex could fix them without charging him an arm and a leg. The man at Spex, was a delight, very friendly and warm. He fixed my father's glasses and didn't charge him a cent. My father was extremely impressed and delighted. He told at least a dozen people. When I need my glasses changed, I know where I am going!!! This is my second year in a row coming to Spex for my annual eye exam. The hours make it possible to stop in after work, which is a huge bonus (the eye doctor is in on Tuesdays and Fridays). They were running a great promotion this year that meant I could get $100 off a pair of sunglasses with the purchase of a one-year supply of contacts. I chose an adorable pair of Maui Jims. When I had a small issue with the fit of these non-prescription lenses, the staff were super helpful. Tonight, Jamie helped me to exchange the pair I bought for a more comfortable pair. He was patient with me and made adjustments until the frame fit well. Overall, I highly recommend this location. They recently partnered with MyEyeDr, so hopefully the same high standard will be maintained. read more

I'm pretty particular when it comes to eye doctors. When we moved from California to Illinois, we found out our eldest son's school required an eye exam. We were greeted upon entering the store but it didn't feel like a warm greeting. There was only one other individual being served and it seemed the place was quite dead for a weekday evening. Our son did pre exam tasks with a red head lady (who was great) but there was a guy who was only partially friendly. We met with the doctor but I wasn't impressed. It seemed we were being rushed out the door. I definitely wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. You would be better off at JC Penney or elsewhere for an eye exam and better customer service. read more

The are the most accommodating company I have dealt with in a long time. If you have a problem with your glasses they handle it no questions asked. Hady previously gone here for 12 years. Now that MyEyeDr took over will not return. Ordered glasses and there was an issue. Instead of the Lab contacting the office to advise of an issue, they just made the lenses however they wanted. I am now the proud owner of 370.00 useless lenses and cannot get any others since my insurance has been used for the year. Who puts magnets for a clipon in the field of vision??? Why would make changes to an order without notifying the patient or office so they could reach out to the patient? So instead of getting the same lenses I have been getting for the last 12 years I now have useless pieces of junk. Thanks for nothing. Won't be back read more

They pride themselves on good service, so when my glasses needed a new screw, I thought I'd check them out. Jeanie, the manager, took my small problem personally, and worked through some tricky spring-hinges to perfectly fix my specs in ten minutes. This place cancelled mine and my wife's appointment without telling us. They called us the day before to reschedule our cancelled appointment. When my wife said we needed a Saturday appointment since we both work and have a small child they found it very difficult to accommodate. They kept trying to get us to reschedule for a weekday. Don't waste your time going there. They'll probably cancel your appointment without telling you until 24 hours before. Never going back. read more

I am not going to leave a review. I will, however, tell you my experience. The worst experience I've had with an eye doctor in the 12 years since we found out my son needed glasses. First experience was when we moved from the city. We had an eye care place for many years. In hindsight we didn't realize how terrible eye doctors could be. It took the place 5 weeks to get my son's glasses in. They said the frames were "exotic". Fast forward to this year, we started the process for getting contacts for my teenager. The school year has now started and we do not have a working pair of contacts. Several sessions trying to fine tune the prescription. After the last visit we tried to talk to the "doctor" about what the issue was. 5 calls and messages, not a single returned call. The doctor and his supporting staff are as an incompetent group as I've ever encountered personally or professionally. Literally go anywhere else. Not a single F**K is given by this lazy, worthless business. Let's get this guy out of our town so someone competent can fill the need. read more
