The good: The restaurant interior looks good, exactly as I remember from years past. We were a party of 4 for dinner, and were seated promptly. Server was attentive and friendly. Drinks took a minute but they kept up best as they could. Bread was warm, butter was soft. Steak was juicy, tender and cooked exactly how I wanted. The not so good: The clam chowder was very thin, and hardly any clam. The salad looked like it was from a premixed bag. No tomato wedge, no cucumber, just lettuce, red cabbage, and shaved carrots. This wasn't the dinner salad I remember them serving. An average meal, decent value, but nothing I'd drive out of my way for. read more

Ordered medium rare porterhouse and most of it was cooked to medium and in some spots way over cooked. The fries were soggy and you can tell it wasn't as fresh. I went with a big group (13) and two orders were missing so teens had to wait. Due to the wait we were promised two desserts on the house and another was given to my father as it was a pre-father's day celebration. One was taken off and the other 2 were charged after we were told it was on the house for the long wait of the 2 missing orders. Wait staff was really nice and she was friendly. She did her best and we appreciate her service. Food was subpar compared to other steakhouses at the pricepoint- porterhouse was $50+. Decor is outdated. Have frequented this location several times, but our latest visit was a disappointment. We were seated promptly, but things went downhill from there. Service was slow, but the food was worse. My wife ordered the 3 filet dinner (not the sliders), medium rare. I ordered the butt steak, also medium rare. When our salads came out, the dressing (bleu cheese) was thin and made worse by an extremely wet salad, with mine including a core from the lettuce. My wife got soup, but no crackers were provided (when she asked about this she was told that we got bread, so crackers were not provided - what???). When the entrees were brought out, my steak was fine, but hers was well beyond medium rare. Additionally, no vegetables, just a potato. So, my wife requested a replacement and they did so...problem is, when the replacement steaks finally came out, they were closer to rare and were covered with silverskin, so she couldn't even cut off a piece. She decided to just forego her meal. They did remove her meal from the ticket, of course, and offered a complimentary dessert, which pretty much wound up being her dinner. We have always enjoyed eating here, as the atmosphere is fine and the food, in the past, has been good, but this visit has us thinking maybe they have passed their prime. read more

Christmas is special. After years of celebrating at Morton's, we elected to come here for a dinner Christmas night- the prices were reasonable, and the overall reviews weren't too off the mark. So we asked a couple friends to join us. First: Ambience- perfect. Nicely maintained; not too loud, and the only "off" thing we noted was a gas fireplace that wasn't turned on. Not a deal killer. Though we would have preferred a booth we got a nice table quickly and were seated within a minute after arriving. Nice so far! My chair had lots of bread crumbs on it; the table had small bread plates but no napkins or silverware. Ok - I cleaned off the chair; the server got us sorted with menus and the aforementioned napkins and silverware - and menus of course :) I ordered a beer - they were out. My 2nd choice? Out. Ok. Goose Island? They had. Our friends ordered wine, and hub-hub had a soda water w/lemon. The water came out, and we decided to order the following: Saganaki- the reason for the order? Flambe, of course! Bread came out quickly- it was warm and yummy. We all got water and our orders were taken. So far we were looking - well- good! Here came the disappointment - The saganaki came sans flambe. Why? The server said - and i quote- "there are too many people in the restaurant for us to do flambe". Reallly. Couldn't have let us know that up front? That was the ONLY reason I wanted the saganaki. Wow. Still good, but wow. Moving on- I asked for thousand island dressing on my salad. The poor salad came- not looking too bad, but sans dressing. I was told - 'we're sorry but we're out of Thousand Island. Ok- then I'll have ranch! And by the way- the ranch never was forthcoming. Wow. Ok- I ordered 2 3oz filet mignons with peppercorn, medium well, and a baked potato. The baked potato was fantastic; the filet mignon was lukewarm and - sorry to say- cooked only to a medium rare. I didn't send it back but should have. My hubby ordered his kebab medium but got it well done. Oh my. And all our entrees came out lukewarm; not hot at all. If they were trying to fail on our first visit ever? They were doing a good job of it. Sad. The soup was chicken rice- not fantastic but not bad. When our water ran out? We never got refills. Look - I get it. It's Christmas. No one probably wanted to work, even with overtime. But when only the bread, soup, and potato were done up right? And no refill of water? That really bothered me. I took off 2 points for the above demerits- and I think that was generous. Our server was very personable; very nice - but she was overwhelmed. And running out of one beer is probably ok - but two? And no flambe (which we should have been told to us upfront when ordering.) And lukewarm and undercooked food? Oh my. Jameson's - you lost us because you didn't try to win us over. Heck, I don't even think you tried that hard. I tried to convince myself that they are very modestly priced and that explained the above concerns. Nope. I just don't think the mgmt cared enough. I used to really like Jamesons and even viewed it as a high end restaurant. Not so much anymore. The restaurant was ok looking. Table was sticky but I think that had more to do with humidity and lack of AC on. The hostesses were giggly and immature acting. The waitress was like a robot. No expression just blank faced. I ordered a refill on my drink and the glass was full of lip marks from the last person who used the cup. The food came hot and was good. We had chicken Alfredo and steak and noodles. And the bathroom was disgusting. We live in the area. I hope Jamesons steps up and improves. read more

My daughter and I came for lunch on Saturday afternoon. I chose the Mediterranean pasta which needed a little bit of work. No flavor. What was so great about this visit was along with the entrée you get soup or salad & delicious warm bread! My dirty martini was great and only $8.00! Hand packed blue cheese olives were fabulous!! We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms but requested that the hollandaise sauce not be put on top. They were OK. ( My daughter's hamburger was very good prepared with a brioche bun.) Upon entering the restaurant, we immediately noticed there was no music and the lighting was extremely bright inside--which killed the atmosphere. We ordered the shrimp de jonghe. It arrived hot, but the shrimp was extremely rubbery and the garlic butter didn't taste like butter. Next i tried the french onion soup. It arrived hot, but unfortunately there wasn't much flavor. Others in our party ordered the rack of lamb, and it looked very good--and while I didn't try it, the food looked appetizing. This experience struck me as a once great restaurant that has cut costs to the point of diminishing returns. It's a shame, as Jameson's was once one of my favorites. read more

We've spent many anniversaries there but unfortunately I have been diagnosed with Celiac disease. Your web site shows a gluten free menu but in fact you do not offer one at this particular Jamison's. Disappointing to us Celiac customers. Jaimie, our bar waitress, was very helpful with offering to check with the kitchen for gluten free options. Server was good, food mediocre and expensive. I ordered a NY strip steak medium. Came with a lot of gristle -- out of a 10 oz portion, I cut away 3-4 oz from the ends & sides. Fries were excellent (requested well-done and they were). Soup at the start of the meal would've been great, but was served luke warm (!) ... Bread & salad were good. Felt like the place needed a thorough cleaning -- chairs & salt shaker felt dirty to the touch, shoes stuck to the floor in the restroom and elsewhere. Payment for the meal was stressful. We'd been given gift cards totaling more than $100, but could use them only to pay for the meal, couldn't add the tip (like you do with a credit card, where they bring back the receipt after the amount has been charged and then you can add a tip). Never had this happen with any other gift card I've used. When I got home, I checked the Jameson's Charhouse website, thinking it probably says right there that gift cards can't be used to cover server tips. Nothing about it. Apparently, management at Jameson's Charhouse has no problem creating such a negative impression around their gift cards. Foolish and very poor customer relations. Manager suggested we leave cash for the tip. Which we did. Didn't want the server to be penalized. We live in Bloomingdale, right down the road from this restaurant's location. We won't be returning after today's experience. read more

Came in during non busy hours. Very dark when you enter until you sit down. Our waiter was very friendly and had an awesome attitude throughout the whole time we were at the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a little dated but for the price and food Id say it's okay. Broccoli soup was 6/10, flavor was there but really salty so it wasn't that enjoyable. Spinach and artichoke dip 7/10, chips were stale and the salsa on the side was not that great. The dip itself was good though. Grilled chicken club, 8/10, basic but good. Did need a little more flavoring though. Fries were decent but flavorless really Jameson Burger 8/10, cooked very well, fries were bland. Good flavoring i'm burger. For the price I'd get it again. Jan 21, 2025 I ordered a boneless ny strip- medium rare. Very tough, also " crab cakes" but the crab cakes had no crab!! The baked potato that came along side the steak was small and hard. Texas road house has, better steaks than this place!!! I would be so embarrased if, I owned, ran this eastablishment. What I found most humerous was the, staff wearing ties and button up shirts, while the manager was dressed casually- OH Owner Owner, you serve your condiments in to go plastic containers- While your staff are dressed in this out dated attire( but managers are comfortable.... This was our third time here for Mother's Day and our meals did not disappoint. We had the grilled octopus appetizer which sat on top of greens & sprinkled with a vinaigrette which was great and your typical shrimp cocktail appetizer but with huge shrimp. We both had the 2 mini filets & 8 grilled shrimp for $38 & each entree' came with soup & salad! The soup was cream of chicken with rice which never lets me down and the salad was a typical garden salad with choice of dressing. The steak filets were perfectly tender & the shrimp in butter was great with a side of steamed green beans & carrots & choice of starch, I chose fries. Daughter & son shared the Shrimp Alfredo. The Woodridge location closed about 2 months ago. This restaurant was so-so, but many of my friends enjoyed it.

Our server Peter was wonderful!! ( we sat in the bar area ) we ordered the pork chops. ( Grecian style ) a little lake of flavor. We had soup and salad ( or should I say lettuce) and soup. Very disappointed in the Bloomingdale Jameson's. 1 star review is pushing it. We decided to stop in and sit at the bar for a drink and have an appetizer or two. Bar menu specials were 1/2 price of appetizers or $5 off other selected items. We elected to go for filet sliders, the stuffed mushrooms and baked French onion soup. Also advertised was a$6 mango martini. Well, couldn't get the Mango martini, out of the mango vodka. Got suckered into getting a full price martini. The baked French Onion soup, although very good, was listed under the appetizer section but was not included on the 1/2 off special. The stuffed mushrooms, ABSOLUTELY no taste whatsoever. Huge disappointed. Now the filet sliders, received 3 of them for $14.99. What we got was served, what we think were filet mignon on a roll and onions. There was more bread and onions than "meat" HORRIBLE! Honestly, it could have been a White Castle slider minus the cheese and pickles. Yes it was that bad. Usually a big fan of the Jameson's restaurant. We've visited them a lot. Unfortunately for the quality of food we were served, they are off our list. Heads up! read more

Glad that I gave them another chance as they performed much better this time! I called in my order about 1 1/2 hours ahead of time. Asked for a 5:30 PM pick up. The order was not ready until 5:50. Kind of a long time to wait in your car. So getting that out of the way I have to say that the food was good! My wife always orders the same thing the London Broil with mashed potato's, the veggie this time was broccoli, chicken soup, roll and a Cesar side salad. She said that her soup was too salty, the London Broil was delicious, the potato's were good and her salad was perfect. She is hard to please so that is a great review. I on the other hand rarely order the same thing twice from anywhere. This visit I ordered the 16 OZ New York Strip Steak ( I wanted the 10 oz but they were out). It also came with mashed potato's, steamed broccoli, chicken soup, roll and a side blue cheese salad. The steak is my main focus and it was very good. Ordered medium and it came medium rare but I know that is not easy to archive especially on a thick cut like that. I did enjoy it. The mashed potato's were good as well as broccoli. The roll was too hard for me but that is the type of bread it is. My wife likes that kind. The dressing for my salad was too watery and I didn't like it. So, lots of remarks here. The bottom line is that I give it an overall rating of 4 stars which is really good! So I am a fan, I recommend this place to eat and I will continue to return myself. Always enjoy Jameson's for good food and great value. Love the bar and would love to see it full. I think what would help is always having someone on staff that knows what sports are on including channels and times. Walked in at one on Sunday and there was a game show on the TV's. Asked for the Cubs but don't have Marquee. Asked for the golf channel but it was a struggle to find it. Golf switched to NBC but didn't want to bother the bartender to find it. Great place to watch sports if you can get it! BTW Jamie, the bartender was great. Just not a sports girl, which is fine, but someone else needs to step up. Thanks! read more
