I haven't been here in forever- for the late night bar atmosphere or just for a meal. I remember why it's never stood out. Food was meh- bland, flavorless. The cheese in my panini wasn't even melted. But the bread had grill marks on it. Not sure how that happens. Everything was kind of sticky? Like the place would benefit from a hose down. Good soup. I had the fish tacos and tuna steak during lent. They were great. They need more servers. We have always had a server that had way too many table because there was no extra staff during normal busy lunch time. Full bar is nice. they say they are an Irish Pub. This is our favorite lunch and cocktail stop in Joliet. We love the straight up grilled shrimp, best in town. Soups and sandwiches are very good also. The chicken and bacon Panini is my favorite. Thank you for serving Myers Rum also. Most restaurants in the Joliet area have only cheap young crowd rums. My wife Sara's favorite it the Asian salad. 12:00 PM through 7:00 PM is the best time to visit due to the later and loud crowd that builds up through the evening. read more

I used to love this place. We used to go there often. Not only my family, but we have met with extended family and friends there. My opinion has diminished drastically. Monday Burger Special of $5.00 is never $5.00. They charge an additional $1.00 for carry out containers, an upcharge of $1.50 for sweet potato fries, an upcharge of $1.50 for tator tots. I ordered 2 burgers, no buns, my total was $16.95! I arrived 10 minutes after placing my order. I paid for my food, although they were not that busy, I sat there and waited for at least another 10 minutes, until I finally asked where my food was. The girl at the counter said, "sometimes I have to yell them." My food was cold. They wrote on the carry out containers that they charged me $2.00 for. When I placed the order, the girl asked if I would be paying cash or with a card. I replied, "with a card." She never said anything else. They had a sign up that they are charging a 3% fee for all credit card purchases. Had she told me that on the phone, I could have brought cash. It seems every time we go there or order carry out from there, they screw up the order somehow. The poor service I have received the last few times is enough for me. If you are looking for good service and a good deal, I do not recommend you go to Jameson's Pub in Joliet. read more

SUNAYS IS $1 bottles & $9 16" one topping pizzas. BEST IN TOWN! For not being a pizza place, they make amazing pizzas. additional toppings are only 50cents unlike pizza places that charge you $1.50+. We had just got at Jameson's at 8:50pm joining our party, the waitress helping them was closing out with everyone and said she'd send someone over, waited 15 minutes nothing . And the same waitress waiting on our friends before, came back and had to get our drinking and having to close out instantly . After that.....NOTHING we sat waiting, 30 minutes later the kitchen was closing so we wanted food, so we had to go to the front ask for a menu and ask for SOME ONE TO HELP US ! Disclaimer: The 1 star is solely for the sweet waitress we had. Went to Jameson's to enjoy an afternoon lunch (03/16), we were a party of 6. The server mixed up our bills & that was fine because we could figure them out ourselves. Management came over and decided to dispute the number of drinks we had. We are budget friendly and knew exactly what we were drinking and how much each drink cost. When we told the management we were being overcharged he argued with us numerous times and said the "pos system doesn't lie". Well, what he didn't realize is a friend who had left earlier had paid for the majority of the bill which we explained. He was still adamant that we drank 9 drinks each (which if we had we would all be stumbling out of the door and unable to speak). We explained ourselves again and he was still adamant that we were wrong. After finally deciding to comp the drinks we decided to leave and told him we would never return. While sitting at the table waiting for our bill, the owner (yes, the one with grey hair and a huge beer belly) stared at me shaking his head. If that isn't awful customer service then I don't know what is. All the while, the manager made our server cry and feel awful (mistakes happen, not a big deal which I told her and we gave her a $40 tip). WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Had a Halloween party there and will never be back, as wells as my guests. The manager completely took us for a ride. Charged $42 for a few chips and salsa. Served some tough beef with stale buns. Was told pizza would be served, never happened. Overcharged and lied to. Don't have a party at this place let alone go there. The food and service sucks! It's no wonder nobody goes here anymore. I'm giving a star each for the cute, friendly wait staff and the above-average bar food. the owner, however, is a total ass. my stepmother and I sent our drinks back because they were so watered down and tasteless, and the owner came over and literally yelled at us. this man was waving his arms around telling us we don't know what a drink should taste like and that everything with ice in it has no flavor. our server was so sweet and apologetic, and she explained that he was defensive because a lot of drinks were being returned for the same reason. this is a cheap man with no customer service skills who has no business running a bar. Went here the other night to join a couple of friends who were eating there to have a drink. We were forced to pay a cover for a band that had not even started by the time we left. We asked for the money back as we had not intended to watch them as well as they had not started. The bouncer who charged us said he could give us an X so we could get back in. We explained to him that we were not coming back so writing on us would not be necessary. He was a total meat head but that is to be expected at Jameson's where on the weekends there is an excess of hair gel and total douchebaggery. Bouncer said we were getting the boot because their license stopped at 1 am if they didn't have a DJ. Uh-huh, right. Because that's a thing. It CLEARLY got too dark for someone. Why else would 2 cops show up and cruise the darker corner then help clear the bar of the 40+ patrons? If you find yourself in Joliet, odds are you'll need a drink. The food at Jameson's is pretty decent, not out of this world, but also not terrible. The issue I have is how the young waitresses apparently have to put of with pervy patrons and managers. I was recently eating dinner on a Wednesday there and the group I was with couldn't help but notice all the waitresses congregated around the bar and a man kept talking to them and occasionally touching them, I do not want to give my money to an establishment that promotes chauvinistic behavior from the owners down. I've also heard the owners have a mentality of 'too big to fail' with also owning Skooters and seem to think that being assholes is not an issue. I once witnessed one of the owners yelling at a worker in front of the entire bar. (not okay) read more

This was the 2nd time I've eaten at Jameson's (Joliet location). The first time I came was during the week, a business dinner, and all was just fine. Today was a Fathers Day outing. My husband had just worked a 12 hour shift and our kids had been waiting all day to take HIM out and treat him to a good meal! Our waitress was nice enough, and admitted she was quite new. We put in our drinks, appetizer & dinner order at once, then waited, waited and WAITED for each bit of it. My husband and I ordered margaritas. His was a regular flavor and it was the weakest flavored margarita both of us had ever experienced. Mine was strawberry-flavored and better tasting. After quite a while, and all our drinks more than half empty, our appetizers came. More than half an hour after that, our food was still not there! The waitress had only 3 tables, including ours. Everyone else was getting their food but us. Our kids were losing patience, and we were getting really annoyed! We were supposed to be getting to a movie and were worried about running out of time. Finally, we decided to leave. As we started walking away from our table, the food finally arrived, an hour after ordering!!! As our kids were starving, we decided to stay 10 minutes and let them get some food into their stomachs before racing to the movies. We took everything to go. There was no ketchup for our fries, NAPKINS, only 2 place settings & no other condiments were offered! (I'd ordered the tuna steak burger and it was quite dry...) That bill HURT to pay as I did not feel it was AT ALL WORTH IT. We complained to the hostess upon leaving, who smiled and weakly said, "Sorry...". No offer to see the manager, nothing. We ended up scarfing our food down in the car on the way to the theater. I hope the staff at Jameson's reads this and at least realizes that going out to dinner is truly a treat for some of us, and we can not afford to be so disappointed. Never, ever again. read more

So reviewing this place is an interesting problem. Have been there for lunch many times and as many have said, the food is better than most bars/pubs in the area. Slightly expensive but good portions. Beer offerings are limited and it is best to look at what they have above the bar-back yourself than ask your server. Sound can be an issue at times, especially if you are trying to conduct business or have a descent conversation. All in all, I would tell you to give this place a try for lunch and decide on your own if it fits your style. Now comes the problem. Stopped in for dinner one Friday evening since we have enjoyed our lunches. Got there around 6:30 pm and found getting a table was pretty easy. Server was cordial and food came out of the kitchen fairly quickly. Then 7:15 happened. The music seemed to take a huge leap in volume. We mentioned it to our server and she just smiled. I am not sure she could hear us herself. We endured the assault on our ears even though the crowd for which the music was intended had yet to arrive. Finally flew the white flag around 8:30 pm and left to try to repair the damage to our ear drums. BTW, still no bar crowd to enjoy the music. Asked the girl by the door when things got busy on a Friday night, and she stated it was around 9:00. So, in my mind I can't understand why the music had to be turned up at 7:15. Seems they will end up missing out on a great opportunity to pull in so dinner business. for the record.... I am not "just an old man", I do enjoy great music in a bar setting It's just that I really wish this place could figure out their customer base by time of day. read more

Visited this place last Wednesday and tried one of their $10 Steaks with a Baked Potato and Grilled Vegetables and was pleasantly surprised that a Pub cooked my steak a perfect medium and was extremely flavorful. LOUD! LOUD! LOUD! and this was just at lunch hour. Why the restaurant management thinks they have to have their music and TV's turned up so loud that patron's can't hear their dining partners across their table is beyond me. It really diminishes the dining experience, especially at lunch time. There was a group of eleven young women having lunch at Jameson's when we were there, obviously on their lunch break from work, and you could see several of these ladies cupping their hands around there mouth to yell at their dining partners so they could hear them. The food is good enough to draw people back but nothing spectacular. The service was very good and attentive at least for us when we had lunch at Jameson's Pub but the LOUDNESS of the Music and TV's made it a 2 out of 5 star rating and unfortunately POOR dining experience. read more

I would highly suggest not using credit cards or bank debit cards at jamesons pub in joliet I'll. They will charge your accounts more than once and do nothing to solve the problem of the over charge. If you do decide to pay for your tab in the form of credit or debit don't expect help from jamesons managment to resolve the over payment because they offer ! Tonite's dining was a real downer. Took forever to get two beers and then another forever to get a glass to drink the beer. (Bad waitress or understaffed restaurant?) Should have taken this an an omen but didn't. Ordered a ribeye and a skirt steak. Medium came out medium but both were covered in a salty sauce which makes you wonder what are they covering up. Quality meat does not need a coverup. Many dinners come with a soup or salad. No salad and the soup choice was chicken or chicken. We don't do chicken so this was a deficit. If you are a calorie counter, then beware. No vegetables are offered to go with the steak only fried, greasy potatoes. Would we return??? Probably not. read more
