I got food from here before and it was good but this time around I was definitely disappointed. I got an order of jerk chicken with rice beans plantains and salad. The chicken was 4 small size pieces which is ok but it was mostly bones with a just a handful piece of actual meat. The rice and beans was good plantains were ok not bad. The salad was good too nothing special. Probably the best thing out of all this were the sauce packets I got here to be honest, sauce was very good. With all that said this box cost me $18 plus tax. This is definitely not worth it in my opinion and most likely I will not get come here again since the quality went down and it's overpriced. read more

This is a chain of carts all over nyc. Their jerk chicken is dry unless you drown it in sauce and is very expensive. The jerk chicken comes with salad and your choice is sides. The chicken and pork were a bit dry but very flavorful and the smoking was done well, again, despite being a bit on the dry side. The portions are big too (for the meat) which is nice. The sauces are pretty tasty also. Took away a star cause the sides weren't my favorite (one bite of the Mac and cheese was plenty to know it's not the best). The salad was pretty weak as well. Both sides were way overpriced for the portion sizes. I was also very disappointed in the lemonades. They are loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup (which you can clearly taste) despite being listed as "natural" (which they clearly were not). Jerk chicken taste good with the rice but the jerk sauce they gave was way too sweet like strawberry jam sauce. Didn't fit well with the spicy rice and chicken meat in my opinion. I am glad they gave sauce packets instead of pouring it all over themselves. The price was expensive at about 19 dollars for one medium box of chicken and rice. Luckily, the line was short so I had to try it.. I know Jamaicans know how to cook oxtail so that is what I went for... The meat was very tender and juicy. And that sauce, drizzle all over the rice and peas (as they call it), I can eat that all day every day... . The best part though, it was not spicy. Most of you DM asking me about the spice level. I cannot take any spice so had it said spicy oxtail, I would have passed on it. However, I think the sauce does have some hot pepper, a very very mild kick, but nothing that lingers or numbing... they do offer hot sauce on the side for those who enjoy their food spicy.. . It also comes with plantains and salad, honestly, I would be ok without them. The positives are that each side is weighed so every person gets an equal amount of food. I really appreciated that extra effort taken to serve everyone equally. The line moves along fairly quickly. The staff are very efficient. The Mac and cheese was just okay. I think it's likely because it's only a side it's fairly plain to pair with the jerk meats but standing on its own it's nothing special. This is not to say it wasn't enjoyable, it just wasn't memorable. I would've loved to have tried the meats but being that they're not halal, alas I couldn't give them a go. Other than being quite pricey for a food truck, the food is legit. Both the pork and the chicken were tasty and had a beautiful char. The oxtail was delicious, perfectly cooked. Many places either overcook them and they fall off the bone or they undercook them and the tendony parts get stuck in the bone. However, this was very well-made. Even the rice and beans and plantains were really good and I'm not a rice and beans or plantains kind of person. The only negative thing I have to say and it's a big negative is that the jerk sauce was too salty and just didn't taste very good. On Saturdays, it graces Forest Hills with it's presence (right across from Boston Market). There was 9/10 people working this well kept food cart. We ordered the pork; & chicken meal. Each meal comes with salad, a bed of rice & peas, & fried plantains (you can also opt for just the protein for a few dollars more). Everything tasted good, but the star of the show was the pork imo. Tender, & delicious. The presentation, & packaging of the food was done well. The sauces came in sealed packs, & was branded with their logo. Meal supposed to come with 3 sides rice, salad and plantains I didn't know two small slices of plantains call side. It was line that was moving super slow it not really worth it to wait for it. What happened? They barely give any meat anymore. What a waste of money, it's not cheap either. They really don't give you what they used to give. A full meat platter fills only the very bottom of the container and a regular only fills the corner. It's not worth the money anymore. Even the full order macaroni was limited. I use to rave about this place to everybody, but after 2 times in a row of barely any meat I might not ever go back - not worth the money.
